Success and a new manager for The Associated Studios

Any actors out there who don’t (yet) know about the professional development opportunities available in Hammersmith need to check out The Associated Studios, based at Riverside Studios.

Founded in 2007, it offers high-level professional development and training for performers in the disciplines of Acting, Musical Theatre, Opera and Recorded Music. And its incoming general manager is none other than Yvonne l’Anson Head of Marketing at Mountview for thirteen years and well known across the industry.

The Associated Studios recently staged a West End Showcase for its Four Month Intensive Musical Theatre Studio Course. As a result two singers, Leonie Bos and Helen White, performed at the ‘Search for a Twitter Star’ at the Lyric Theatre earlier this week. And three other finalists were Associated Studios Members too.

In addition, course participant Caspian Moyo - represented by Identity Agency Group - has been asked to join the cast of Thriller Live!. Moyo was given The Associated Studios Musical Theatre Award to enable him to study there on the Intensive Musical Theatre Course.

Artistic Director Leontine Hass says: “It is part of the ethos of the studio to encourage and nurture talent. Although we have no funding ourselves, we do everything we can to encourage talented artists to work as intelligent, committed, informed, disciplined artists with integrity. We help them to take charge, to develop the discipline, stamina, skills and charisma necessary to build a sustainable and successful career in this very competitive and challenging industry.

“As a Studio we are very aware that some talented performers simply lack the financial resources to undertake the training they need. We gave Caspian Moyo a full bursary for our four month Musical Theatre Course and are absolutely delighted that this has reaped such rewards for him.”

I’Anson adds: “The showcase was a resounding success and a credit to Leontine and her team. The success of these three performers, so soon after the event, proves how essential and beneficial professional development courses are. I am tremendously excited to be joining the team in August and look forward to working with such a dedicated group of people.”
