Olivia Colman: The Stage Podcast #67

Olivia Colman: The Stage Podcast #67

New BBC2 sitcom Rev started strongly on Monday, with just over 2 million viewers in unofficial overnights marking a higher than average turnout for the channel at that time.

Starring Tom Hollander, who created the series with writer James Wood, the series also stars actress Olivia Colman as vicar’s wife Alex. A familiar TV face through her appearances on That Mitchell and Webb Look, Look Around You, Peep Show and Beautiful People, Colman returned to the stage last year in the National Theatre’s England People Very Nice. She will soon be seen in feature film Tryannosaur, written and directed by fellow actor Paddy Considine.

Richard Fleeshman: The Stage Podcast #66

The son of two classically trained actors, Sue Jenkins and David Fleeshman, Richard Fleeshman gained his training on the job, playing Craig Harris on ITV soap opera Coronation Street.

Since leaving the soap he has embarked on a musical career, releasing an album and supporting Elton John in concert, as well as acting in the BBC1 choir drama All the Small Things.

This week, he makes his West End stage debut, taking over the role of Warner Huntington III from Duncan James in Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre.

In this week’s podcast, he talks to Nick Smurthwaite about his experiences, and what they have taught him.
