The BBC have announced that they have purchased the UK rights to NBC’s Heroes, a complex tale of ordinary people who start developing comic book-like superpowers.
The series features some familiar faces from genre film and TV — Final Destination’s Ali Larter; Masi Oka, who has a recurring role as Franklyn in Scrubs; and Greg Grunberg, who was a regular in Alias, and also popped up in the pilot episode of Lost as, er, the pilot.
The series will air sometime in the New Year on BBC2 — round about the same time that US viewers will get a glimpse of the latest new character, to be played by Christopher Eccleston. Everybody in the US is being particularly tight-lipped about what character he’ll be playing — although UK viewer Rob Buckley has reckoned he’s worked it out (don’t click the link if you don’t want to read a spoiler). This show is fantastic, I'm glad you across the pond are going to get it. There's a great forum for Heroes too with a Map of Known Heroes and a bunch of other cool stuff.

This sounds like a fantastic show but from what I hear, BBC2 haven't got the show's British premiere, because they have to air it after the Sci-fi Channel premiere the entire series in the UK first. According to online reports (see Digital Spy etc), Heroes will air on the Sci-fi Channel in February, and follow on the Beeb in the summer.
Such a shame terrestrial tv viewers have to wait for this. It's a really good show, with some good fresh ideas. Immensely watchable. Hiro for President!!

I've seen all 23 episodes of Season 1 and I can't wait for it to come to BBC2 I'm sure other Britons like me will love it. I can't wait for Season 2.
I think heroes is a great programme! Its now on bbc 2 and its fantastic! If i had to pick a hero to save me, it would be peter cause he is just so great! I enjoy the episode called homecoming because thats the one were peter saves claire! Thats been the best episode up to now! Can't wait to see more episodes! Luv XBeckyBooX xxxx
