Forget the controversial goings-on over at the Big Brother house. Let’s all spare a thought for TV chef Rick Stein and take a moment of reflection to mark the passing of Chalky the dog.
Chalky, as any self-respecting TV viewer will know, was Stein’s faithful companion throughout much of his TV career. He was cheeky, he was bad tempered and had a heck of a bite. Bless him.
Chalky, TV Today salute’s your memory. You will be missed.

I was really gutted to hear that chalky had passed away, i am a great fan of rick stein and watch him all the time, chalky was allways a great part of his tv programmes and could imagine how sad rick is about losing his bestfriend.
i was very sad to hear about poor chalky we enjoyed watching him run rick around on his programmes such a wonderful happy dog could not believe he was 17 wowjust imagine what a wonderful life he had lets hope its as good where he is now sending warm wishes to rick and his family too
So sad to hear about Chalky who was the most wonderful little dog - so naughty in a good way. I know Rick and the family will be very upset. As one of the fisherman on Fruits of the Sea said "That dog's more famous than Ricky Stein". RIP Chalky you'll be missed.
I feel so sorry for Rick and his family, I had a jack russell just like Chalky and lost him 7 years ago, and we still miss him. We have watched all of Ricks programs and Chalky is one of the highlights. He and Rick were a great team. RIP Chalky, you will be sadly missed.
I was very sad to hear of Chalkys passing. I was thinking when I heard the news and something instantly came to mind a little song "I'm Chalky, I'm Chalky, I'm terrier through and through. I'm Chalky, I'm Chalky I've got my eye on you. I'm Chalky, I'm Chalky, I'm always on the go. Chalky on the Rick Stein show! Loved the end of series montage - I even videoed it! Favourite bit - when he fell of the boat!!! Condolences to Rick and his family - I am sure they are feeling a little lost. What a great little dog!

Can't believe the news about Chalky. I was watching repeats on UK Food last weekend, and was singing along to 'Chalky, Chalky on the BBC' and having a good laugh at his antics - only to find out today that while I was thinking how great he was, he had already passed away the day before. I feel so sorry for Rick and his family - he was a real little character and will be sorely missed.
Hope he is enjoying a big bone and chasing postmen - wherever he is!

chalky outlived my jack russell by 9months.
I know how you feel Rick. I was so sorry when I heard chalky had passed on. He was a wonderful little character. My jack was very similar to Chalky. He had his own style and could be very bossy.
He was a star in his own rights. A real trouper
it was a dog..people die in the world every second....get over it
im so sorry about chalky he was a good age,im still grief stricken over my dogs the died several years ago,a dog breaks your heart when they die, people say its just a dog but they leave a great big hole that cant be filled.times a great healer.
god bless chalky hope your playing with my dogs in doggy heavenxxx
very best wishes to rick and family.
frankies abc1 farce testamonie
well what do you expect the
channel became a farce when it
started
to constantly rehashing
episodes of 8 simple rules
home improvement
and hope & faith week after
week and if you want to put it
to this stand
point abc1 became stale after
they continued by removing
great programming like sports
night moon lighting and mad
about you
and people got fed up with
abc1 and started to turn over
and
the channel keeping making
blunder after blunder
including showing
a scene from one episode for
the next program and showing
an completley
differant one disney should
have acted on this to say that
they syndicated abc1 and did
something about it but they
did not until it was to late
abc1 realy should be a network
channel that cattered everyone
and
they simply let the viewers
down and i am not surprised
that abc1 has gone to the
failed tv & satellite channels
grave and i have no sympathy
with abc1 when they became
shambolic.
