It’s been a hectic week for Daniel Boys since having to leave Any Dream Will Do last Saturday. I was lucky enough to grab half an hour with him at his agent’s office as he paused for breath.
Scott Matthewman: Hi Daniel. So sorry about Saturday.
Daniel Boys: That’s okay!
Let’s start from the very beginning. Did you see How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? last year?
I did. I didn’t watch it avidly, but I did see a few of the episodes.
And was that what inspired you to apply for Any Dream Will Do?
No, not really. I have always loved Joseph since I was a kid, and the way the business is going, I just treated it like any other audition. I thought, “If I want to be Joseph, I’ll do the programme”. I never thought for one second I would get on the programme, and never thought I’d be taken seriously because I’ve already done things. I didn’t think they’d allow that, almost. So I was pretty shocked when I kept getting further and further.
In The Guardian this week, Elaine Paige described Any Dream Will Do as “the greatest threat to theatre today … Actors already striving in the theatre wouldn’t dream of putting themselves on these shows”.
Did she? Do you know what, this time last year when the Maria programme was on, I probably would have absolutely agreed with her. It was getting to the stage where reality TV is taking over every art form, and when I heard they were doing Maria?, I admit I did think, “Oh my goodness, now it is taking over musicals”. But unfortunately, art forms change, and this business changes a lot — I almost gave in, if you like. I just thought, well, if I want to do these parts which I’m not getting seen for, because I’m not a ‘name’, if you like, then why not? Not only is it amazing exposure, and an amazing showcase for an actor, you’re being seen by 7 million people every week and Andrew Lloyd Webber is sitting there watching you. That really can’t do that much harm, surely. So I don’t think I agree with her now. You have to play the game now, and that’s what I did.
How would you say that you have changed as an actor since starting the show?
It’s obviously been very different to any audition I’ve ever done. It’s made me more aware of my faults, if you like. Normally when you go to an audition, you never get feedback. Even if you get down to the final two, you just get told “No”, you’re never told why, or what you should change. And so it has been very interesting what the panel think of my performance. Maybe they’re told what to say, I don’t know, but it’s interesting that they picked up the ‘nice’ thing, because I have been told before I didn’t get something because I am too nice and there isn’t this ‘edge’ to me. So hearing that really hit home and made me think that I’ve got to approach auditions a different way.
Zoe talked about wanting to work on your voice.
Yes. She’s always said to me, “You’ve got a lovely voice, it’s beautiful. I want to make it more colourful.” They’re the words she uses. She says I place things in a very strange place with my tongue — she wants me to be much further forward. And I was kind of getting to do what she wanted, but I think the frustrating thing was she expected me to do it straight away. And I can’t do that — if I was to change, it’d take months and months.
It does seem odd, that all of you are expected to transform week on week.
We are, and if you don’t do it, then they say bad things. And that’s the bad thing about the show. It’s ridiculous, really. But then having said that, someone like Craig has come on immensely, getting better and better and better. He may still not be ready for the West End, but his voice! Everyone has noticed that it has got better. And he’s never had lessons before. It’s the same with Rob, and again he was able to change things. BUt for someone like me, who’s had lessons for so long, it is very difficult to just suddenly change.
Do you ever watch your TV performances back?
They don’t like us to. I’ve never sat down and watched the whole thing. I might occasionally go on YouTube and have a quick peek! What does shock me is the sound. We’ve all said that the sound in the studio is so bad for singers. We can’t hear ourselves, and we say it week after week after week. The band are so loud, you literally cant hear yourself.
That explains a lot really, Both myself and a number of TV Today’s commenters have been saying that there’s a completely different appraisal of individual performances. What seems to work on television sometimes doesn’t seem to be working in the studio for the judges, and vice versa.
Absolutely, yeah. I definitely think they need to address the sound. You watch it back and we’re flat, or sharp. And you don’t know you are at all. Usually I’m quite good — if I go flat, I know I’m flat. I watched Since You’ve Been Gone back the other day, and I was mortified. I just think it’s awful! I can’t believe that I sung like that on television! In the studio I just had no idea.
Another thing that’s been picked up on is the lack of songs originating from musical theatre. What I notice more than anything else is that those sort of songs enable the acting side of the performance to come through. One or two of the pop songs do as well - Since You’ve Been Gone and Maggie May for yourself, for example, and Lee’s Leave Right Now. They’re songs that tell a story, and almost belong in musical theatre anyway.
Absolutely. It was very frustrating. That’s why I was so annoyed when I had to sing songs like Evergreen and It’s All About You. Those are the two songs where the judges said I was ‘bland’ or ‘beige’. What can you do? They’re great songs, but they’re not written to be acted. And watching it back, I have to say I don’t think I was beige at all. I was actually very surprised, and thought, “That’s actually quite good!”
There’s nothing more I could have done with Evergreen. The comments on Saturday baffled me. I thought Andrew’s were quite nasty, really.
Particularly because at the beginning of the run, he was so enthusiastic about you — and with last week, saying your version of Maggie May was the best he’d ever heard.
I was quite hurt by Andrew’s comments. The panel I can take with a pinch of salt — they’re almost fed lines to say (I dont know if I’m meant to say that!) But with Andrew, I did think there was no need for his comments. And he even went back on last week, saying that Ben Elton didn’t agree with him. Why did he need to say that? And then to say that people wouldn’t want to listen to me for two hours. I was just standing there thinking, “Well, I give up then.” It was just horrible.
The thing that annoys me is that he’s said since that he was going with youth at the end of the day. But if he’d just said that on the night, I would have gone, “Fair enough. Maybe I am too old for Joseph; thank you anyway.” But he didn’t.
And the whole point of the show, it seems to me, is to find talent that the conventional casting process wouldn’t have selected. It’s odd that anybody who’s a little outside the traditional mould — like Rob, say — then goes. At times, you do feel like saying, “If you want a conventional Joseph, use a conventional casting process”.
And also, why let us enter the programme in the first place? If you thought we’re not right from the beginning, why waste our time? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved it, and the exposure’s been incredible for my career (I hope!). But it does frustrate me. If you don’t think we’re right, then don’t let us on the show!
It must be odd as well, to have to share a house, and form friendships, with people who are ultimately after the same job as you. Did that cause any friction?
It didn’t, you know. Especially in the last few weeks, lots of the press, and even the BBC in our interviews, have been asking, “How is the house? Are you all arguing?” The truth is, we all got on. Every single one of us got on incredibly well and the weird thing was it didn’t seem competitive at all. We’ve all been very supportive of each other. Obviously, it is a coompetition and there’s only one winner, but it didn’t really get to us like that. When I left, the guys were just so lovely and they were crying, genuinely very upset. There’s no friction at all.
It seems like you all have a lot of work to get through each week as well. Maybe there isn’t enough time to think about rivalries.
There really isn’t. Basically, we have two days to learn the week’s show. Monday we have off, but that’s really when we have to learn our words. Tuesday, we have rehearsals. Wednesday is ‘mission’ day, so we never do any rehearsals. Another day of rehearsals on Thursday, and then on Friday we’re in the studio with the cameras and we have to know everything by then. So really, it’s two intense days.
With that timescale, it astounds me that any of you are able to pull off what you have been doing every week.
It was so tiring. Since I’ve left, the pressure that’s been lifted off my shoulders, I can’t tell you! I’ve been walking down the street with a smile on my face, thinking, “Ah, I can do whatever I like! I can go to the shops! I can go and have lunch!” When you’re there, you just can’t do anything else. It gets very controlling and so intense that I feel nice and relieved now.
So what have you been up to this week, other than shopping and smiling?
I’ve had a few castings already, and I’ve got a few more still to come.
Are those from people who saw you on Any Dream Will Do and asked for you?
Yes, they are — so it’s nice to think that somebody’s watched and thought, “He’ll be good in this.”
But are you still having to go through the mechanics of auditioning?
Kind of. It’s bizarre. Today in my audition, they were asking me if I’d like some water and gave me a bottle. They were very caring. And at a casting the other day, they said, “Do you mind singing for us?” And they’re asking. It’s just bizarre. Of course I don’t mind singing.
So it is slightly different. And I did notice at a casting the other day, I was getting a few looks, as if to say, “Oh. He’s here,” so it can be quite awkward. But obviously I still have to audition. And I haven’t literally been offered a job without being seen.
So of those castings, is there one in particular that you would like?
I’m not sure I can say what I’ve been casting for! The one today, I’d love to do. That’s not going to help you, is it!
I’m not going to ask who you think should or win ADWD, or who you think is going to win. In terms of the public, what do you think they should be looking for when deciding who to vote for?
It’s very tough, because as you know, at the beginning Andrew Lloyd Webber said, “I’m casting a new Joseph. I want you to get your idea of what a stereotypical Joseph is. I’m looking for a Justin Timberlake or a Michael Jackson”. And the only one was was exactly that was Chris Crosby, who left in the first week! So that idea’s out of the window.
Ultimately, I want the winner to be able to do the job. I don’t want people to think that programmes like this are ruining musical theatre. And the fact that two of us are professionals and they allowed us in is, I think, great and shows that it is open to anyone. Personally, I think Lee is the only one left who could actually probably do the job for eight shows a week. I think Lewis is fantastic, and he’d be very good. The others, I don’t know. Ben’s been very good, but we haven’t heard him sing a ballad recently and that’s where his faults have shown. Craig I don’t think is ready. He’s gone on the most amazing journey, like I said, and with more training he’d be very good, and he’s a really lovely, lovely guy. Keith — we’ve all said it, unfortunately, but I just don’t think he looks like a Joseph. Still, if we’re not meant to be choosing a stereotypical Joseph maybe he’d be very good. His voice is stunning, but I do think he looks a bit too young still.
But I hope the public picks someone that can do it!
Just to wrap things up, some quick questions: the favourite song you’ve sung on the show?
Probably my song in week one, which was You Give Me Something by James Morrison. I’ve always loved the song, and I love to sing it.
What was your favourite of the songs that the other boys were given? Any that you’d have loved to have sung yourself?
As a ballad, I loved I Don’t Want To Talk About It. I think that song’s beautiful and just pulls at the heartstrings. I love that, and have sung it at auditions before. You Were Always On My Mind — again, another beautiful song. And Lee’s song from last week, Paint It Black — I’d never heard that song before! And everyone was like, “How can you not have heard that song?” When I first got the CD I thought it was a strange song. But wow! A fantastic song to sing and a brilliant one to act. I would have loved to have sung that.
Ultimately, I would have loved to have sung just a big, big musical theatre ballad. Craig got to sing This Is The Moment and I got very jealous. Something like that can really show your voice off, and I still feel that I didn’t get to do that. Although I couldn’t have asked for a better sing-off song, though, with Bring Him Home. I knew I was going, I really did, I knew. And so when I started the sing-off, I thought, “Right. This is my opportunity to show the public, Andrew, and everyone what I do best.” And I’ve had some lovely comments from everyone, so I hope I left on a good note!

What a fantastic article - really interesting. Daniel you are just brilliant - hope you don't still feel upset about some of the rather odd comments that were made on the show -especially by ALW. I think most of the people who have been following the show would say that some of the remarks made are really bizarre and contradictory, and this is really the most annoying thing for the viewer. You really can't see what the panel are geting at - they seem to change their minds from one moment to the next.
You have gained an awful lot of fans so I hope that you feel that this has been worthwhile for you. We are delighted to have got to know you!
Whatever you're in next, I'm clearly going!
J.
Great interview Daniel.
All the Kittens are behind you 100% and cant wait to find out what you are up to next.
Lots of love x
"Whatever you're in next, I'm clearly going!"
And so are the rest of us!
Good for you Daniel! I think you're the actual winner in all of this!
Great article.
Looking forward to seeing you in whatever you do next. ADWD won't be the same without you there.
You might not have been ALWs Joseph, but you're definitely going to be someone elses leading man - hopefully in a role that demands more of your great voice and acting.
Loved seeing you in Rent a few years back.
Good luck with everything.

Great interview and if its any consolation a lot of the GBP were totally shocked by ALW's comments. You were the best and shouldn't have been in the bottom two. However ALW requested emotion and boy you sung your heart out and carried the duet with Lewis. Still baffled at the outcome. Can't wait to see you in the West End soon.
Hi Daniel,
Scott brilliant interview apart from the missing Kittens question....lol.....ya missed out there.
Daniel love to see your career taking off.....I think that ALW will be needing you more than you him.. Will be keeping and eye on you in the very near future.
Be nice to see you on TV too....looking forward to that. You really looked like you were enjoying it.....so bring it on
catch up with you later.
(hey did your wee nose get caught in the sun)

Great interview.
Still can't believe you aren't in ADWD. It won't be the same without you.
It's their loss anyway, you shall go on to bigger and better things. You can be my leading man any day ;-)
Myself and the kittens are behind you every step of the way.
Can't wait to hear what's next for you.
Love Sophie x
Hey Daniel!
Well, you are most definately too good for ADWD, and we see that more and more every day.
Glad you're doing well with the auditions. The kittens are eagerly awaiting the announcement of your next role so we can book our tickets.
Sending love and miows!
Sarah
Daniel, you are quite simply, wonderful! Whatever you do, enjoy it. Best wishes
Francesca
For me, ADWD will not be quite the same without you. I'm not saying this because you were my favourite (you're not right for Joseph imho and you're not my favourite), but the show now feels like a coloured coat that's been through the boil wash, the colours have run, and it's all a bit wishy-washy now without you.
Like many others, I'll look out for you, follow your career and hope to see you starring in something probably much better and more 'grown-up' soon!
that was a wonderful article, wishing you all the best Daniel for the future and look forward to following your progress
see you on stage real soon!!!!!
all the best
angie x
Brilliant interview Daniel, i'm so happy you have come out the other side feeling positive and i'm ecstatic that things are really looking up for you.
We are all on your side, and cannot wait till you announce which production you are in. Rest assured that the kittens will book out the front row :)
All the best hon
xx
Hi Daniel
Lovely to read about what a good week you have had and how you are smiling!
I hope all your dreams come true - you don't need ALW for that!
The kittens love you Daniel and we have a Myspace group and would love you to post a message to us on there. The address is http://groups.myspace.com/DanielsKittens. You have joined from your official site but have out the address just to remind you!! lol
Take care,
Love Emma xx
Hi Daniel
- you are the real star of ADWD! Many people are now more interested in your career than in what happens on ADWD. So pleased we all had the chance to meet Daniel Boys!
Can't wait to get tickets for whatever you're going to be in next - you're definitely my leading man. No use wasting that talent, total gorgeousness and charm!

Daniel, terrific interview! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You were brilliant in ADWD even though I saw the show on Sundays in snippets from the BBC and pirated video clips all over the web! Please keep me on your mailing list and I promise to cross the ocean (from my perch on the coast of Maine) to sit in orchestra front and middle for your West End premier. It will happen! Your talents and charm and smiling eyes will take you far, indeed. Cheers!
Hi Daniel,
Just to say that dont worry, your front row in the West End will be dedicated to all your fans. ( Ill stop the weird ones from getting in)
Great to see that ADWD was such a spring board for you in so many other mediums. I see from your comments that you have realised that there is more things you can do which I think is great. Dont just limit yourself to a few. You will make an excellent Leading Man in anything you choose to do.
Look foward to seeing you soon. Your an absolute star and no one can hide that....not even the ADWD show. You were soo over talented for that show. Nearly turned it into the Daniel Boys show ( hey thats an idea)..
any way its there loss...and I for one dont actually care who wins it now. Its a farce now, its lost all its magic, and from what I am hearing.....alot think the same way.
Daniel, you go for it.......your talented enough.

Daniel, I still think you're a brilliant singer and actor - you sang brilliantly in RENT and in ADWD.
All the VERY best for the future.
Daniel
You come across as a really nice bloke. You've shown such dignity and resolve in the face of Saturday's shock outcome; but you're better than the part of Joseph, and the millions who voted for you can't wait to see you in your next venture. Up until showcasing your talent in ADWD, it seems like you've been theatreland's best kept secret - now your career will reach new heights.
All the best
Richard
Scott first Thanks for bringing us the interview with Daniel!
Daniel,
Thanks for all the enjoyment of the past weeks on ADWD and for allowing so many of us to share the journey with You!
You clearly demonstrated in both "Rent" and "The War of The World" what talent you have for musical theatre but in ADWD you have become a Star and a Leading Man.
Daniel your voice is Colourful, you have genuine Charisma and you are such a genuine young guy! - West End Theatre has now found a New Leading Man and many will listen to you for two hours whatever one man may think?
We feel proud of You and can;'t wait for your first West End project to come along, you have now arrived and you have a long career in front of you.
All the Very Best - John
Daniel,
Thank you for making ADWD worth watching. We have voted for a number of the performances each week, but yours most consistently. 'Bring Him Home' was incredibly powerful and everyone I have spoken to who watches was in tears when you sang. You brought balance and professionalism to ADWD and there will definitely be a noticable Daniel-shaped hole now you have gone. Our very best wishes for the future - which we are sure will be a bright one!
Great article Matthew.
Daniel - don't worry any more about ALWs negative comments. Your fans know they were totally unjustified and other viewers probably won't remember them!!
I just look forward to hearing about your next career moves and can't wait to see you in the West End very soon. You will be a leading man - that's for sure!
Thank you Scott, for a great interview!
Daniel, It's great to hear that you are getting castings on the back of the great impression you made on Any Dream Will Do. I hope you get out of it, all that you richly deserve.
I will not be watching the programme with any real enthusiasm now that you have gone. In my opinion, the multi coloured talent has left the show, & what is left is beige.
looking forward to seeing you on the West End very soon!
Daniel... you were amazing and I was so shocked you went...especially your sing-off...fantastic performance...can't wait to see you in something soon...I think the judges were shocked you went too...Denise was crying...
Daniel you're amazing!
:) You give me something was an amazing performance - and when you sung Bring Him Home and Close Every Door To Me it almost brought me to tears. You are a phenomenal singer and actor and you are extremely cute too which makes it all the better :D
♥ xxx ♥Great Interview!
Daniel, just wanted to say thanks for bringing colour to my Saturday night viewing over the past few weeks, there's only one thing that will now be beige and that's ADWD!
Your voice and performances constantly left me wanting to hear more, and you're performace of Bring Him Home and Close Every Door knocked me out and brought tears to my eyes.
Can't wait for the time when we can buy tickets to see you in the West End...there is no doubt it will happen and that plenty of people will pay to see and hear it.
Anyway, good luck to both an extremely talented performer and a genuinely nice guy!
Hello Daniël,
First of all my compliments for having that ability to emotionally move us with the beauty of your voice.
We were sad having to see you leave the show. But you did it with dignity and "left" us with good memories !
The 25. May Stage Blogs TV Today article was great and not only reminds us of how good a performer you are, but also gives us reason to look upon you as a decent person.
And next to that: Never worry about your future, musical career.
With your potential you will most certainly become very successful, and your audience will be grateful to you for sharing your musicality with them; Even Mr. A.L.W.
I wish you all the succes in your future (musical) life,
Hendrick
Fabulous interview - many thanks, Scott. And Daniel, like so many others I was shocked at last week's result: I was sure it would come down to you and Lee in the final - none of the others were anywhere near your league. But, let's be honest, 'Joseph''s a bit rubbish anyway, and it's not as if I'd've ever gone to see the show, any more than I want to see 'The Sound of Music' with 'her off the telly'. But, whatever your next project is (I suppose a good Sondheim would be too much to hope for?), you can be sure I'll be in the queue for tickets. And a long and rather rabid queue it will be, too.
(Also? I was rather disappointed by John Barrowman on 'ADWD'. I hope he realises his mistake!)
Daniel is a star!! It's difficult to know who's the right Joseph, but Daniel has a wonderful voice and a lot of talent. He was my choice to win.
Excellent interview- I hope Daniel gets to read the comments so that he realises how amazing everyone thinks he is and how many people are extremely disappointed that he is no longer in ADWD. He's had me transfixed to the TV every sat evening since the show started and despite what the catty ALW said last week I would happily listen to Daniel's voice all day (and would gladly pay for the privilege!)
I do think that ALW has done him a favour though- he is far too talented to be singing pop songs and deserves to be in a musical worthy of him (i.e. not an ALW musical). His performance of Bring Him Home brought tears to my eyes. At least the world now knows who Daniel is and what he can do. I just can't wait to see him on a west end stage where he belongs.
Hi Daniel,
Well it was the one after THEE one. and guess what......bland.
It was boring and sadly lacking lustre. Your inventiveness and creativity was such a joy to watch. Your voice was sheer bliss in comparision to some who just cant even sing a basic pop song. You are missed on ADWD, they were praising you ever chance they got. Your a star, they cant take that from you. You will go far. I look forward to watching this star......shine and shine.
Good luck Daniel.

I was absolutely disgusted at the results tonight. I can't believe that ALW sent Craig home over a smile (or so he said) He was far superior to Ben tonight and deserved to be in the semi-final. What's even more ridiculous is the fact that the weakest Joseph is still in the competition! Lewis should've went home with mummy and Nana Jean ages ago. I still can't believe that both Daniel and Craig are out and we've still got to endure Lewis's"singing" next week. What sort of final are we going to have without Daniel and Craig to provide Lee with some decent competition? The whole programme has been tailored to suit ALW to get Lee for his Joseph and whats sad is the fact that 99% of us would be happy with that outcome but would've preffered to have a fairer and more exciting competition. I don't think the creature knows what a "MOJO" is. I would imagine there are thousands of viewers who ,like me, are fed up being treated like fools and watching decent prospective Josephs being put out of the competiton for fear they win it. Along with that we get viewers voting in their thousands supporting boys because they have a silly crush on them. Unfair doesn't even begin to describe this competition and I won't be watching it again. Even the panel didn't look happy with the decision again this week and ALWs reputation is beginning to look as dodgy as his face.. Craig should be proud of himself for acting like a true professional week after week and keep on smiling as Daniel has done.
Hi Daniel,
I'm from Holland and I love the Any dream will do show. As an entertainment show it is fabulous, as looking for Joseph I don't know. The moment ALW let you go, I couln't believe it. I'm beginning to think the whole show is a set-up. I mean we all know Lee is the winner from the beginning, as was Connie in the Maria show. It confuses me that he said he want somebody different. And how safe can you be with Lee?! For me it's clearly he had high hopes for Lewis, but the poor boy is not up to the job (yet). It is better for Lewis that they let him go soon. I think you were so right Daniel with your comments on Lewis in the podcast. If ALW saves Lewis over Keith or even Ben his believability's thrown out of the window. And you Daniel I think was a victim of tactical elimination. Well never mind, I think the whole Joseph experience will only do you good. You have a great voice and there a better parts for you than Joseph. And about that Mr. Nice-guy, what rubbish. Is the world not nasty enough already. I love nice people, I love somebody nice like you, with a gorgeous smile. Nothing wrong about that. Be proud you're called a nice-guy, people should be lucky they were as nice and talented as you. All the best Daniel, people over here in Holland love you!
Daniel is an amazing performer and ALW was out of his mind to say he didn't know if anyone would want to listen to Daniel for two hours. I would listen to that voice all day and whatever Daniel appears in next you'll need to be quick to buy tickets cuz I guarantee with his new fan base they'll be sold in an instant!
xx
Salut Daniel!
First and foremost i have to say you are an amazing performer. I was so moved by your interpretation of Bring Me Home and Close Every Door that i was on the verge of tears. Although i'm not very keen when it comes to musicals, i have to say you are starting to convert me with those performances. I'm now discovering the musical Les Miserables thanks to you.
You truly are a brilliant artist and i'm not just saying that to please you. I know when someone has got talent and boy you've got it in bucket loads.
I was really disgusted by the Lord's comments saying that he wasn't sure someone would sit and watch you on stage for two hours. I know I would. The show could last for two or five hours, i wouldn't even see the time go by. I also think ALW should not have chosen Lewis over you in the sing off. Lewis is good but i think he's still emotionnally too young to star as a leading man on the West End stage.
I'll end my message by wishing you the best of luck with your career and I can't wait to hear more of you.
Lots of hugs and kisses from Belgium; and "bonne merde" ^^(don't worry it's a normal expression in French to wish someone good luck and not to be taken litteraly ;-) )
Sarah
Daniel. Honestly, I wasn't your biggest fan, the time you spent on the show...but reading this interview and reviewing some of your performances I must say (that) I've had to shed some of my narrow minded-ness. You're a very sympathetic guy with a LOT of integrity and a true professional at that, I'm ashamed of myself (and all those others) for agreeing with Zoe as many times as I have in the past. You ARE however way too much of a nice guy, but that's a very good thing ;) Your fans/colleagues are never going to say a bad thing about you! You'll gain respect because you truly deserve it!! Good luck with whatever comes on your path, I do hope you become West End's leading man one day, it's time for a new breeze in the world of theatre..And when you do become that leading man, please come to Holland sometime(s), we'd love you over here...
Lots Hugs & Kisses (and apologies!) from Holland...
PS Has Denise Van Outen asked you out yet? She seemed so keen on you ;)
Hi great interview Daniel. I echo what everyone else has said - you are fab, nice( nothing wrong with that! ),gorgeous!! and very very talented. You have a huge fan base now and you being in a show will guarantee great sales. I will always go to see you in whatever you do! Good luck, Justine xx.P.S We will be in London in Oct hope you have something then!!
hi Daniel
Last saturday was not the same
great interview and i wish you success in your future cant waite to see you perform in a leading role in the west end will be there to see you . All the way along the programme you handle yourself brilliantly with some bizare comments from the judges
and i agree with the comments from tania above
anyway good look for the future
Daniel
My god we were really shocked to hear you were not in the show anymore. It was my birthday last week so we went out and missed the show. When we watched a trailer and you wern't there we just looked at each other, my fiance and myself, and both said 'where's Daniel'? We thought you were ideal to play the roll of Joseph, you seemed to have all the qualities, fantastic in all you did. If you had won we would have definatley gone to see you in the show, now we're not so sure. Good luck to you in the future.
ALW was clearly being tactical in his voting when he saved Lewis. We were completely shocked as you were the best by far at conveying emotion through the song. It's my belief that ALW has already decided on his Joseph and is lining up weaker opponents against him for the final - that way he can get the public to vote for his choice. Very good luck for the outcome of your recent castings. We will be watching out for you in the future!
Oh yes, ALW was definitely using the sing-off tactically -- as he has from the very first week. And, of course, that's his prerogative. If he has a favourite for Joseph, obviously he's going to try to pull whatever strings he can to help that person. It's just too bad he couldn't get his cover story straight in time to avoid talking nonsense on TV.
That said, Daniel, you were always a real pleasure to watch and a favourite with me from the very first week. Your Week 1 performance made me sit up -- you were the only contestant that week who really told a story with his song (and the only one in the entire series who interacted believably with the back-up dancer!). I believed every word.
Hi, Daniel SOO glad you have a part at last, though not a very long run. Have tickets for the Sat afternoon July 7th( apparently so do some of the `kittens` so it might be a little noisy!). It will be a long day coming from Blackpool but SOO worth it.
Good Luck for it and hope you enjoy it.
