They call themselves Loppies — short for Lee-Obsessed People. I am, of course, talking about fans of Lee Mead, winner of Any Dream Will Do and now in rehearsals to play the eponymous Joseph at the Adelphi Theatre.
At the press launch earlier this week, The Stage’s Matthew Hemley caught up with Lee and his co-star Preeya Kalidas. The interview is now online.

Thanks for letting us know Scott. Is he as nice in real life as he appears on the screen?
Wow. Thank you so much Scott. Had not heard from you for some time and thought you might just be tolerating us. But what a treat. You star.
I sat reading Lee's interview with a smile from ear to ear. On the fame, recognition thing Lee said 'But I am not here for the fame - I am here for the show.' How refreshing. Many talent competitions now seem to be peopled with those who just want to be famous, with varying degrees of talent to carry them through. But ADWD was an audition, and I am so glad Lee is now part of ALW's troupe - he understands the benefits of nurturing talent and looking for longevity in his artistes, and that is what we want too. I still want to be going to see Lee in different shows in 20 years time having watched his career go from strength to strength.
Just one more question, can someone please tell me how the cast are feeling now they know who their Joseph is. Are they as relieved and pleased as we Loppies are? Don't want to think they are giving Lee a hard time.
Good interview.
Saw Lee singing the single version of "Any Dream will do" on Lottery show. A bit dissappointed. It sounds like they've used exactly the same backing track as the Jason Donavon version. Not only did I never like that version but it sounds terribly dated - very post Stock-Aitken-Waterman/early boy-band.
Hope the show is going to have a bit more originality rather than just being a complete retread. I'm sure Lee will be brilliant but I'd like to feel there's a few suprises, having seen the previous version so many times.

Thank you Scott. You're very kind to humour us Loppies, especially as we have hijacked your reviews pages!
It is indeed refreshing to see someone who is so talented but with a great work-ethic. He doesn't take this for granted and isn't going to rest on his laurels.
Long may you be successful in the West End and beyond, Lee!
Thank you Scott for the interview. I did enjoy all your reviews of the show and I have to thank you for your support of Lee in the final. I think Lee is amazing. When he sings, I forget about what the song should be like while I make that comparison all the time when I listen to contestants in any talent show. No matter how many times I watch his performance, I just want more. Guess I've joined the Loppies.
Why on earth have we not heard of Lee Mead before? I think he's sensational. Let's hope he doesn't lose the humility that he possesses and goes from strength to strength in his career.I've recorded all the Joseph show and he was outstanding in all of them, despite the 'tuning problems' that he so masterfully overcame.
Welcome Carole and Sherry. Isn't it lovely to discover you are not alone in your insanity.
The Joseph website has just been updated with a video clip of Lee being introduced to the cast to much applause. GREAT. Also there is a camera crew there filming it all, so hopefully a special coming up sometime soon?
I was disappointed in the seats I had been able to buy and contacted the hospitality people at the theatre and not only do they provide extras and VIP service, they also have some much better seats not available via the box office. They cost a lot more, but compared to the cost of travel and hotels not outrageous. So we now have really good seats and I am a happy Loppy.
Just followed the link through to the ALW site, and they have today posted some shots from the rehersals as well.
Thanks guys. We love being kept in touch.
Hi Loppies!
How wonderful is Scott? Not only is he tolerating us, he is positively encouraging us!! That was a great interview to read, THANKS!
I have just spent some time catching up with clips and news on the various websites - there is quite a mass of information collecting on the Net about Lee now. Still looking forward to that official website!
It would be fab is Lee were to include a track from 'Phantom' on his first CD. Not only is the music from that show gorgeous but it would be kind of fitting after he spent so long understudying.
Here comes my hubby - must dash!!!
XXXX
Thank you so much scott... I saw the link last thing at work so thought would save it as a treat for the evening and what a treat it was!
It made me laugh out loud when I saw it! god knows what Lee must think if he gets wind of all this!
Scott thanks for putting up with, humouring and supporting us! what a great interview, I would just dream to have your job down there in London, but then again so would probably lots of people! well actually the dream would be to be on the west end stage itself if I was honest, but in reality you know your own limitations!!
thanks loppies for the heads up on the other info just off to have a gander, i dont normally peruse the web on an evening at all, howver my other half is working away at the mo, so it would be rude not to make the most of the time wisely!!
Just one more thing (have already posted on the other comments page) - Shirley, I can't find the clip where Lee is being introduced to the other members of the cast. Can u help?
debbie it's on the offical joseph site on the intro page, just click away!! I wonder who gave him the big hug!? you think it was someone involved in the tv production??
gas man arrived.... typical the only time they dont come late!!
Good morning to you all. I had a lovely day yesterday. With window fitters here I had nothing to do but sit and Lee surf, what a hardship.
I agree about the problem of screamers, but hope that the whole atmosphere in the theatre will discourage them. I came across one blog yesterday which was peopled with young screamers and they were bemoaning Lee winning saying he did not appeal to them - more to mothers. What about the grandmothers say I, and Louise and Carol I promise to try not to scream at inappropiate moments.
Debbie I find if I www.josephthemusical.com I still get the old front page without the intro to the clips, but if I Google search for josephthemusical and then click on that it goes to the new front pagewith the links.
I am using this page of the blog for no better reason than it is shorter to the bottom of the page to read all your latest comments. How lazy is that!!
Hallo Shirley, I am intrigued by your comment that you contacted the hospitality people at the theatre for better seats. I have been trying to do the same but no luck so far. Could you tell me who you contacted and how? Thanks a lot!
Hi Helen. From the josephthemusical site click tickets and go through to the See site. There you go through to a calender that tells you you cannot book lots of dates online now. Above that are a few links including the one to the hospitality team. Spoke to the lovely Laura Pitt-Pulford who has been so helpful. If you email or leave a phone message they are first rate at getting back to you promptly. We have booked the VIP package which sounds just perfect for a special birthday treat, which is what I am arranging. Good luck, and let me know how you get on.
Hello Loppies everywhere!
How are you all feeling today? Another quiet Saturday night is approaching - roll on the Diana concert!
I enjoyed seeing the new clips on www.josephthemusical.com today - love the rehearsal scene.
I hope everyone is managing to get tickets for the show - they are going to HAVE to extend the run. I booked at the beginning of May when there were still 8 Josephs and then held my breath! I found that I got better seats for booking sooner as tickets for later in the year were all out with ticket agents and the Adelphi wouldn't know what was left until the agents had finished with them. Now it doesn't sound as though there is much left at all.
By the way, thanks Jackie for your tip on the previous Loppy blog page re the John Barrowman photos. Like you, I did think it was a bit strange that he was laying claim to them - they are nearly all freeze frames from 'ADWD' episodes and so surely the property of the BBC?! (apart from a couple of childhood pics of Lee). It was good to see them all, anyway.
Elisa, I have a similar dilemma to you in that I started to keep recordings of 'ADWD' on my Media Center from Show 4 onwards (wish I'd saved them all) and they are still all stacked up on there. I have been trying to save them onto DVDs but the software is playing up so I've only managed to do 2 shows. Not sure what I'll do long-term but they are staying there for now!! (husband not complaining so far so I'm keeping quiet!)
Bye for now!
Thanks for the info Shirley. Will try to find the rehearsals. I don't know which blog to log on to either. Am reading both lots!
Thanks ever so much for the tip, Shirley. Lee fans are wonderful at helping each other out! All the best and happy Lee-surfing!
In answer to a previous question. Yes Lee is wonderful in real life, he is a real gentleman, kind and caring with not a mean streak in him. I have followed his carerr for 4 years now and yes I do know him. To all regular Joseph fans we ALL spotted his talent years ago. The role in West End couldnt have gone to a nicer young man. So talented.
I agree with Lynda, Lee is a lovely guy, very talented and easy to chat to. I too know Lee and have enjoyed seeing him in the shows he has done over the years. For more information on Lee an photos go to my website.

A present for the Loopies - all Lee's solo performances from Any Dream plus the lottery show as audio capture files, please share to keep my upload alive!
Amazed to read Lee had never sung an Elvis hit before! what a great job he did with Devil in Disguise.
Morning all Loppies.
What horrible weather today - absolutely tipping down here. Guess I'll just have to stay inside and watch Lee - such hardship....
Lynda and Tanith, thanks for letting us know that Lee is such a nice guy in real life. It's so much better when someone is genuine about what they do. A refreshing change from all the celebrity obsessed people that do Big Brother and such like. Lee will become famous because he's very good at what he does, not just because he's been on TV or in the press.
Tanith, I think I may have seen your website already. Is there a photo of you with Lee outside a theatre? Are you from Birmingham? Because I saw Joseph at the Hippodrome at Easter starring Jonathan Parkin as Joseph, which was very good. We said at the time that he had star quality, also Melissa Nettleford stood in as narrator and gave an excellent performance.
Thanks Carys for the link. I've just downloaded the files and am in the process of transferring them onto my Ipod. Agree with you about Devil in Disguise - it was a great performance despite the top note, still one of my favourites.
The ADWD video is up on YouTube now,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b--IfKKC9pk but how could they put that bit in with Zoe telling him he was "a bit rubbish"?
Greetings and good morning to all my fellow Loppies. I got in well after midnight having collected my husband from Heathrow. Had a quick look here before heading off to bed and could hardly believe my eyes. Hello Lynda and Tanith great to hear from you both, and thank you for coming looking for us. It is good that Lee has such good and loyal supporters. I cannot imaging how hard it must have been for him to cope with all the rejections for much lesser jobs when he has that extraordinary talent. In my terms it is like Albert Einstein being told he is not up to teaching 4c physics in a failing comprehensive. Thank heavens he had the courage to risk all he had acheived to do Joseph. We would all have been the losers if he hadn't .I dont need a crystal ball to know that such rejections will not play any part in his future career. Loppies all, there is even a message from Lee on Tanith's site.
Carys thank you for your files - what on earth were you doing up at 0.4.30? Like you I loved Devil and Disguise. Actually I loved all the rock songs they gave him to sing. Paint it Black was something again. Maybe down the line when he has a bit more time an album of rock songs could be considered?
I tell you one thing for certain, my laptop is coming on holiday with me.
Morning Loppies.
Have another day off so time to indulge myself! After trawling through all the other sites trying to glean yet even more Lee material, I have come to the conclusion that it's always nice to come home to the Loppies. I like to think we're a more mature and informed crowd of maniacs (ha ha) who have Lee's best interests at heart.
I'm also worried about screaming women ruining the show. Hopefully Lee will pick me out in the crowd of mass hysteria as the one who is sitting demurely in her seat and not letting the inner turmoil and passions surface! Last night I got roped in to model at the school fashion show (purely lack of volunteers) and when looking at the clothes afterwards, spotted a rainbow-coloured blouse, not dissimilar to The Coat. I only just resisted from buying this monstrosity but I did think he might notice me.
By the way, have a good idea. Whilst queueing up with my green bags in that wonderful place that is Tesco (sometimes I just HAVE to go there) I thought of a great advert that Lee could do for them - never mind Body For Life, what about Bag For Life? - in that lovely cheesy American voice he does. Just a thought.
Sorry Tanith and Lynda, just been to Tanith's website and realise I got you the wrong way round. I think it may be Lynda that's from Birmingham. Losing my marbles...
Afternoon Loppies, sorry this is a very long post!!
Just caught up now with all the comments, and too agree that maybe we shold post here! tis easier to quickly take a sneak at work just from one site!
I agree debbie, i too feel our home is here, yes we are true loppies but actually care about the show side of it too!
Real life has annoyingly got in the way making me just log on now! Your comments have made me smile during my lunch, bag for life!!! excellent!!!
The arrival home of my lovely fella meant no watching of re runs last night, housework too had to be done to ensure the sense of normality continued( i never go on the computer normally at home) then a very busy morning this morning at work doing last minute preparations for big exhibition next week. I too have a loppy free wknd coming up too, but fear not ladies I will not be going cold turkey straight away as unfortunately have a week on my own next week , fella is off at above mentioned exhibition all next week, so im storing up all my loppiness till then! This thought will get me through! I can watch re runs and google till my hearts content, finnishing the week off nicely with the Diana concert which i can watch all on my own and not feel an idiot when im sat there with a huge grin on my face.
Shirley thats fab about the hospitality, we've done something similar to get tickets for october for cirque de soleil as they were sold out and it was actually other half who went off and sorted it all out, he saw them in las vegas and said we Had to see them together! It's the wknd after joseph so i know for a fact i couldnt get away with doing the same for joseph with the cost of the wknd in london too. I suppose am very lucky that he actaully is coming with me and likes the theatre! dont know how im going to control my inner turmoil and passions though like debbie said, i too will have to be sat demurely!!
Glad you told your friend debbie, i half told me friend before i discovered you ladies , that i was so excited i had booked tickets for joseph but was so gutted that they were in october, she completley understood and prob would be a loppy if she hadnt watched grease, the traitor!!! She did however see the final and wanted lee to win, she saw his obvious talent! i also excitedly told another friend who has just moved to london abut how jealous i was of her being there ( as Im up north) as she works near kings cross and would poss get random sitings of famous people (ie Lee waiting for his girlfriend!) she didnt get me, so Im leaving all confessions to the world of the web from now on, safe in the knowledge im not alone.
Right everyone if i dont get chance to come on here again today have a great wknd albeit our 2nd adwd free one! really looking forward to going on lynda and tanith's sites next week, what a treat!!! Do i just click on their names to get on them? welcome too to you both!!
Forgot to add how nice to hear that lee is just how he comes across, just shows he's the true professional and his acheivements so well deserved!! makes such a change that someone these days gets recognition for their talent and not just because, or playing the sympathy card.
Hope he isnt getting too nervous about all those people at wembley!!! probably too busy to think about it!!
Hello Loppies!
Some excellent updates on our official Loppy site (endorsed by Scott) from you all in the last 24 hours - such a great exchange of info and new websites to visit, thanks everyone!
I found a copy of the pic of Lee in 'Now' magazine on an unofficial website calling itself the Lee Mead Appreciation Society. I also have my reservations about the pic, complete with lipstick prints on his chest and collar - mind you, wouldn't have minded being the make up lady on that job! (steady, girl, get a grip!). Joking aside, though - for me, it doesn't really look like Lee. There are so many other great pictures of him to enjoy and I much prefer that dazzling smile any day.
Carol will be amazed when she returns from holiday to find that her friend who started calling her a 'Loppy' has started an epidemic!!
Keep on googling!
Afternoon Loppies. This page looks quieter. I’m getting RSI in my scrolling finger on the other page. Thanks for the interview Scott – much appreciated.
Catching up:
Like you, Louise & Trace, I loved the rehearsal scene. They all work really hard. I hope we get more from the josephthemusical site. As they’re recording we could possibly get a documentary. Every day I get more excited about going to the show. Only 26 days to go.
Jackie, Shirley, Fiona, Debbie - agree with the comments about Now. I thought it was a bit tacky and not really how he comes across, also dare I say, not the best picture facially of Lee. Like you Trace, I prefer the dazzling smile any day. Decided to remain aloof and not buy it.
As for the screaming. I’ve decided not to scream, as it would probably wake up my husband, who manages to fall asleep in any show as soon as the lights go down.
We’re a very refined bunch here aren’t we? I like to think we mainly appreciate Lee for his talent – don’t we??????????
Elisa,
Yes, you're right. It'e the talent that Lee's got, plus the disarming insecurity about it that has us all hooked!
Hi again,
I think you have summed us Loppies up very well, Elisa - we do appreciate Lee's talent combined with his charming, self-effacing personality. Can't stand arrogance (Seamus springs to mind) as it blots out any talent a person might have.
I literally didn't recognise Lee in the Now picture - it didn't do anything for me. He looks far sexier in ADWD on any week where he is smiling or singing directly into camera.
I watched the rehearsal scene again today on the Joseph website - can't wait to see Lee doing those curtain calls in person! Only 7 weeks, 21 hours and 35 minutes to go!!!!
This blog page will soon catch up with the 122 comments on the other one and then we'll have to ask Scott for a new page!!
Sorry to be so James Blunt (where did he come into it?) ladies but you're all talking absolute rot!! If beautiful Lee was an ugly old git you wouldn't be half as interested. Your'e all living in denial. By the way I haven't been on here all afternoon - if only. Just taking advantage whilst husband is out at the gym (it's too late for him to have a Body For Life but he's not too bad for 38)!
Yes Louise, real life got in the way - school run etc. I feel rather fortunate that my hubby isn't into the theatre - I'll be able to drool continuously. Am off to see Grease the following week (the mother-in-law and kids choice). Will feel like a real anticlimax after seeing Lee strut his stuff.
Have to keep deleting my visits here in the History lists as am on hubbys laptop. What a pain!
Have a good weekend Louise. See You Monday!
Better go and do dinner I suppose - what a drag, May cheer up the process by doing cooking association ie. I cook anything that relates to Him - got some LEEks in the fridge, make some gravLee to go with them and the chicken, or maybe a bit of PLeelau rice (sorry).
I think it's time I went.
Morning Loppies!
I don't know where you've all gone but I still need my therapy. Did I put you off with my awful 'jokes'. Sorry!
Just peeped at another site - I think it was www.leemead.org or something like that - and they were discussing the merits of being labelled Loppies. The general concencus is that it was a bit naff and they preferred something like Lovelees or Meadsters. Oh well, we're safe then. Aparently he's in Hello this week but not much new to report. May cast my eye over it. My husband wll be wondering why I'm buying all these daft mags.
Just wondering what you all think is a decent amount to log on to this site. I'm currently checking it out about 3 times a day. Seeing as you all seemed to have vanished maybe my obsession is worse than I thought! Is anyone out there?
I am still out here and appear to be getting deeper into obsession.Last night kids asked for mashed potato for tea and all I could think about was Lee doing the twist, I've got it bad.Off to watch devil in disguise!!!!!!!!!
Hi All
Getting bored. Keep Googling Lee but no more news. Visited all my stored websites. Bought the single this morning even though I’ve already downloaded it – got to keep the sales up and it’s in a good cause – and although the picture on the cd isn’t wonderful it’s the only one I can leave lying around without my husband thinking I’m completely nuts. I can’t even watch my sky recordings as he’s watching some rubbishy sports programme.
Tip for you Debbie – as well as deleting the history lists, if you’ve added all the Lee sites to your favourites, rename them as “washing machine reviews” or something similar – he’ll never check those if he’s anything like my husband. I think the food naming is good – how about ChilLEE MEADballs.
Someone give us some news soon please.
Careful Elisa! This food naming could get explicit.
Sorry. It was the first thing that came into my head. I think I’m going slightly mad.
I've forced myself not to log on until now - thought I ought to do the family bit at the weekend. But actually I've been cooking the dinner for the last hour listening continuously to Lee on my Ipod - lovely, but not as goos as watching him!
Hubby has fallen asleep on the sofa, and sons watching cricket, so sneaked away for a quick visit to Loppyland!
Good tip Elisa about renaming favourite sites - I've been getting paranoid. Can't wait for some new Lee material - only a week till the Diana concert. Hurrah!
I'm still here - hubby is around all day Fri-Sun so it's not so easy to visit. But he's in the pool at the moment with the eldest (she seems to be immune to the cold) and the littl'un is asleep, so here I am sneaking on.
Debbie - love the food references! Don't worry, I come here at least twice a day even if I don't post anything.
Elisa - love the Meadballs!!
Have just googled "Lovelees lee mead" and found the forum where they were debating the merits of our collective name. I think Loppies is just fine (particularly as there is no overt reference to the object of our obsession - discretion and all that!) I daresay there aren't too many husbands in Lovelee-land, whereas we're probably all old enough to be Lee's big sister!
Saved all Lee's performances onto the pc (albeit not the best quality, but it'll do) and have seen the video on youtube - lots of comments about it being a bit cheesy, but what do they expect on such a quick turnaround? The close-ups are jolly nice!
Just heard hubby say he's getting out of the pool, so I'd better go in a mo'. At least children have said they'll have leftovers for tea tonight so that'll be easy, plus hubby cooks on the weekend (yes, roast dinner and all)!
Right, I'm off - love-lee weekend to one and all!
Hi there Loppy pals,
Good to catch up with you all - am enjoying all the cuLEEnary jokes! Sorry I haven't been on here for a few hours, I'm on a course and have piles of homework and it looks as though we all disappeared for a quick reality check! Glad to see you're all back again!
I'm quite content to be a Loppy, personally - it just kind of happened to me without my noticing it and I'm not fighting it!
One of my favourite non-singing clips is on www.andrewlloydwebber.com (when you log on, there is loud music which will give you away if you are attempting disceet Loppy behaviour!). Click on Latest News and then on:
10 Apr 2007 Exclusive footage of the 12 Joseph finalists.
It's sweet to see Lee and Carig greet each other with a big hug; it seems they hit it off well in the Joseph House. I'm sure you have all seen this before but I enjoyed watching it again yesterday.
You're right - we need some new stuff and something to keep Elisa on the straight and narrow!! Another ADWD-less Saturday night is taking place - looking forward to next Sunday!
XX
!)
Trace,
Just sneaked onto ALW's site - loads of stuff I haven't seen. Will save that up for a private moment. Thanks!!
Struggling on the food naming, but I suppose we have just had LEEsagne (groan!!)
Just been to ALW site. Hadn't seen the Bill & John aftershow clip which was good. Not eaten yet but definitely having broccoLEE.
Just going to watch Dr Who.
Have just ordered up a curry - hubby's having Lamb Tikka SalLEE! And we'll both be having some pLEElau rice (hope you don't mind me nicking that one Debbie ;) )
Will check out ALW's site again - have seen various of the clips but not the one Trace mentioned. Will put sound on mute first!
I shouldn't sit here at my computer laughing out loud at your jokes because it will only encourage you!!!
Hope you enjoy the website clips and whatever you're all having for tea! (my tea includes onions which have been chopped up and tossed onto the meat in a casual way!)
Can't resist one last peek before I disappear for the night. I can see this food association taking off in a big way. Glass of Mead anyone?
Still finding new chat forums to read. Yet another one is discussing the merits of our name. They've decided to call themselves Lovelees like another crowd. They may wear t-shirts with an identifiable logo on when they see the show in order to recognise each other if they happen to go on the same night. Highly unlikely I'd have thought but a good idea. There'll be some sort of turf war going on soon with all these different Lee factions in the theatre!!
Nightie night.
Hi there. Just wandered if there's room for one more Loppy! I have been reading this sight for most of the series as i loved all the reviews and i have loved reading all the comments from the loppy brigade.
I am old enough to know better but am completely obsessed with the man himself. I am so missing my Saturday night fix but have got tickets for the 28/7/07 so am counting down although i don't know what i will do once i have been and have nothing to look forward too but at least i will have my memories. I am going with my mother-in-law who will be 78 & my neighbour who is 67 and they are both nearly as excited as me!
I had a dilema when they extended the show by one week as the final clashed with my wedding anniversary- but there was no contest and my hubby didn't complain bless him! My neighbour came round & we had a great night cheering Lee on. My teenage daughter takes the mickey out of me because every time anyone mentions "Lee" i can't stop grinning! Her and her friend changed the words to "Any Dream Will Do" to torment me but it was still very cute.
I have just heard that the single has gone in at Number 2 so well done Lee. It's a shame it didn't quite make it to number 1 but still a great achievement.
I too have been "googling" away but this site makes me laugh the most. I agree with so many of the comments made but have never quite plucked up the courage to join in. I totally agree that it is the talent that Lee has got and the fact that he seems totally unaware of how good he is that appeals. I just hope he is starting to believe in himself more so he can enjoy the whole experience and not get too nervous. He seemed very nervous on his first "any Dream Will Do" podcasts but did seem to relax a bit more as they went on so fingers crossed for him.
I don't think my obsessiveness is getting any less but i did calm down about it after reading all the comments on here and realising i am not alone! If anyone says the word "chop" i just imagine onions & steak and grin like a love-struck teenager-very sad!
Anyway i hope no-one minds me joining in as this late stage and thank you to everyone for helping me through the last few weeks. I am looking forward to the Diana concert next week and will keep checking the internet for any new news to share.
Hello, Is anyone there?
Just switched on Radio 1 Chart Show thinking Lee would be No 1 and he's Only No 2. Also, I switched on in the middle of an interview with him, so must have missed most of what he said. I am really annoyed with myself. Will have to wait to see if it has been recorded by anyone else or do the Listen Again thing on the website when it's on.
Did anyone else hear it?
Just a quickie tonight! Well done Lee on making it to number 2. I downloaded it today thanks to those lovely coke zero people and their free downloads weekend.
I was listening to Radio 1 while we were having dinner but unfortunately couldn't really hear anything of the interview over hubby and eldest's chatter. Will listen again tomorrow.
Welcome Tracy to our merry band. It's great to "chat" with like-minded people - the more the merrier.
Better go now and give some cuddles to little ones before sending them to bed.
Welcome Tracy. The more the merrier.
Had another dream about Him last night (my 2nd!) but can't quite get to grips with all the details. Shame!
Have been watching Glastonbury so have temporarily managed to put Devil in Disguise, Paint it Black and Jesus C S on pause in my head.
Have been wondering where to put the pics I printed of Him. They're wasted in my bedside drawer. May take a leaf out of Elise's book and stick them where hubby won't find them ie. the ironing board, washing machine, dishwasher etc. etc.
Googled 'Lee Mead youtube' (or something like that) and still managed to find some videos I hadn't seen before. Now off to find that Radio 1 interview.
Ooops. Sorry to have sounded cross before. Of course it's great that Lee has made it to No 2. (Congratulations Lee!) I was just cross with myself because I'd thought he might be on and I left it too late.
Hi Tracy - didn't see your post until I after I'd sent mine - you know we're all slightly bonkers don't you? Like you, I was supposed to be out on final night at a VIP (very important party) but my lovely husband made excuses for me, as I couldn’t possibly have left the house. In fact, I was so nervous I could hardly breathe, let alone walk or talk.
I've been listening to Close Every Door a lot since yesterday, when I bought the single, and Lee's voice is spine tingling on it. I can't wait to hear him sing it live. Due to lots of practice I also am now able to sing all the coat colours (admittedly, not very tunefully, but without error) so if they need an extra on stage, I’ll be there - 24 days and counting down.
Debbie, glad to see the ‘how to deceive your husband’ tips are spreading. We need more of these.
Hi Tracy - welcome to the gang! Glad to hear there's another one of us. Just off to listen to the Radio 1 interview. Thanks for the tip Elisa. More time to speak tomorrow.
Hi there Loppies!
Thanks for all your contributions today, this page is keeping me going!
Tracy - what kept you?! We needed you here before now! Glad you have joined the gang - hope all the other shy Loppies out there reading this will follow your example now!
Elisa - understand how you feel. I completely forgot to listen to the Chart Show so I missed everything. Am cross with myself. Did anyone else catch it? What did Lee have to say? I am thrilled he has come into the charts straight at no. 2 - perhaps he'll be no. 1 next week - must listen to the charts next weekend!
Have you all seen that clip on YouTube with a short-haired Lee in the audience of the Trisha Goddard chat show? It's only a fleeting second or two, but beggars can't be choosers at the moment. Log on to YouTube and type in the search box: 'Buzby Allen helps Trisha Out', then forward the clip to about 16 seconds - don't blink or you'll miss him! Sorry I can't come up with better than that for today - wish I could tell you all I've discovered a two-hour long concert just of Lee that nobody knew about!!!
Hi again. Thanks for the welcome. I have justlistened to the radio 1 interview online as i also missed it. If you go on the Radio 1 website and click on "Listen/Podcasts" on the left hand side and then look under the "on demand" section, the chart show is there. I fast forwarded using the 15 mons button until 2hours 30 mins had gone & then clicked the 5 mins button once. The interview comes on about 2 hours 37 mins or so. He says he hoped for Top 10 so number 2 is great. He sounds quite nervous i thought but has a lot of people in the background with him. They say what a nice person he seems and very humble which they like.
Thanks for the warning Elisa about you all being a bit mad but i think i lost my sanity a while ago too so don't worry! I played Close Every Door for my mother in law today and as you say it is spine tingling. He sounds amazing. I would love him to sing that next weekend but as least we can hear him live when we see the show. I am going to what the tape of the final again now as i haven't watched it for a few nights and there is nothing on the tv. I have got to have a wisdom tooth out Friday and i need to have a clear vision of Lee in my head to get me through that-see mad!
My friend is thinking of changing her job but it a bit unsure so i found myself telling her about the risk Lee took when he left Phantom to do the show. I think she understood what i meant about being brave and going for it but she thinks i am mad too!
Thanks again for the chat. Speak soon.
Just about to log off but had to add a last comment (my husband says I always want the last word!) Lee is just too perfect in every way - can a man get any better? It's obviously not just his good looks we're falling for because there's plenty of attractive men out there. It's his talents - acting, singing, movement, ability to give the right look and complete niceness. Is there anything wrong with the man?
Goodnight!
No, nothing.
Thanks for the Radio 1 instructions Tracy. I was just about to do the same myself so you've saved me some typing.
Also watched the 1 second YouTube clip! Has anyone seen the "Geri Halliwell - It's Raining Men" video? I think it's a waste of time actually - far too much of Geri looking painfully thin and it's hard to pick out Lee from anyone else.
Night all. Work tomorrow.
Just watched some of the final again and it has started my heart racing! He really is perfect. His face when Bill was praising him after New York New York when he looked down and shut his eyes always makes me thing ah. Also his jump off the stage when he gets through to the final 2 and punching the air and his strutting on to the stage for Jesus Christ Superstar- he really commanded the stage. I had nearly forgotton his little stumble at the top of the stairs when he came back to sing Any Dream Will Do- i was worried he was going to fall down them but i think a lot of people would have picked him up! Then there was that nod towards his family i guess when singing that final song which was very cute-everything he does is wonderful!
I did watch the Geri Halliwell video on YouTube but as you say, you cannot make Lee out and she definitely needs a good meal inside her-steak & onions perhaps!
Anyway must go to bed now with a smile on my face ready for work-boring. Sorry if my radio 1 instructions were a bit simple, oh and by the way my mother in law will only be 77 when we see the show-sorry! Goodnight.
I have to confess - I did actually miss the final (thank goodness for Sky+) as hubby and I went to see Howard Jones do an acoustic gig. As this was his b'day present and he'd been waiting for it since April I could hardly say I wanted to stay home! (Have to say though it was a great gig, about 150 people, as good as last year's.) I was determined not to find out the result til I watched it but curiosity got the better of me and I risked a peek at the BBC news website. It made watching it all the sweeter!
Am just listening to Close Every Door for the first time and I've got goosebumps! I guess they mixed it once they knew the winner so they could make him more prominent.
Better go get small people dressed for school/playgroup, and hubby keeps phoning asking me to email docs to him that he's forgotten to take to work. Real life has a habit of getting in the way of loppiness! Probably just as well really - keep us from going totally insane! Back later.
Morning loppies.I agree with all the comments about Lee being perfect. He sounded so cute on the radio last night but then you can watch him singing paint it black and he is so intense and dark, truly a man of many images all of which make me weak at the knees. My obsession seems to be getting worse.I had never bothered much with the computer before Lee but now am a master googler! Husband checked the history and fell about laughing as it was all of Lee.I also walk about with a stupid grin on my face when his name is mentioned.Oh I feel the need to watch JCS again will try to ignore Keith and focus on Lee and his bouncing.
Can anyone help with an address to send fan mail to Lee? I really want to send him a card wishing congrats that he won, but not sure where to send it to make sure he gets it. I, too, am totally obsessed with the lovely one (sigh).
Aahhh... just had a bit of Lee-time whilst doing the ironing. Listened to the chart show (thanks Tracy for the time-check, saved me wearing out the 5m button!). It's lovely to hear other people remark on how modest and humble a person Lee is. It makes the success all the more deserved.
Have to say, I think my favourite Lee-moment in a performance in ADWD is in Daydream Believer when he does that little hesitation thing before running up the stairs - brilliant!
Jan - you could try writing to him at his agent's address, go to internationaltheatreandmusic.com.
PS - some new pics are up on the Joseph site.
I, too, have listened to the Radio 1 interview. He sounds lovely on it - the presenters are quite right. He is amazingly humble in interviews. He really does seem to have it all, good looks, talent, the ability to put things across so well when he is performing and no arrogance with it all. His girlfriend is very lucky.
Love watching the video of the single, although I still want to hug him when Zoe says "a bit rubbish" to him. He looks so sad and yet brave about it. Oh dear. I really am losing it this morning...
I'm sure I read somewhere that he appeared at a concert last night. Anyone know anything about it?
Good afternoon Loppies old and New,
Just managed to log on (real life in the way again) and am so pleased to see that loppiness is in still full force and you've all got through the wknd ok. Feel like ive missed out but better late than never so im sorry if this is really long (again). A girl needs her therapy tho! .
Actually got through the wknd ok, think it was the thought of my lee filled week- being able to surf undectected! We do need more how to deceive your husband ideas!!
Did tell my friend again how excited i was about the tickets she didnt mind it was her birthday wknd i would be missing either! so only 13 weeks or so now till I go. god like Tracy said what am I going to do once ive been, i wont be able to get away with going again!!
You have all made my very wet Monday lunchtime, catching up on all your comments has made me sit here with a huge smile on my face and your food comments priceless!! So pleased its not only me with the food, i was cooking steak the other night and it did make me think of lee and laugh, will have to get him on the old rib eye tho, much better than his sirloin in my opinion!! wouldnt it have been good if when they were on the F word with denis van outen a while ago if Gordon had took lee into the kitchen to cook, bet he would have loved it!!
Congratulations to lee being number 2 thats brill, to say its not mainstream and there's hope yet, for the number one!! I must confess i have not yet got it (hope it wasnt a close call sorry Lee), due to the only ipod in the house being my other halfs, so this week have a planned outing to tesco's ( as normally shop at the one endorsed by Mr Oliver) to try get the single. These are my reasons to justify the extra trip- it may help it stay up there in the charts, its also for charity and i remember buying the jason donovan version when i was young, think it was on record single too, ( like the one lee had next to his bed!) so it wouldnt be fair not to support lee! i do think the video is a tad cheesy but the lee bits are good, despite the rubbish comment from Zoe, bless him. Im sure lee thinks it is extremely cheesy tho too!!
Ohh cant wait for tonight, thanks ladies for all the heads up on the info, now er has finnished they'll be nothing on tonight so i think i may iron to the final of ADWD ( sorry keith have to fast forward your bits) then do a bit of surfing. love reading all your fav lee moments too and couldnt agree with you all more i wont comment on all otherwise this will be even longe as there are loads! one of mine tho is when you see him leaning on the window singing when rehearsing, dont ask me why!?
cannot wait for the diana concert, if anyone finds out when he is expected on, pls let us know, will save me from recording the whole thing!
oh no just found out that the tesco's i was going to is shut as its flooded!! the trip will have to wait till tomorrow!
May be back later but work calls for now!
Good morning my lovely Loppies. Greetings from Sante Fe. I seem to have spent the whole weekend travelling, but here for the week now, so logged on to see how you all are. Devil in Disguise played in my poor brain all the way over the Atlantic, working on switching it to Paint it Black which really blows me away. I had this wonderful mental image to keep me smiling though. Think cartoon. Scott sitting at his desk, head in hands, thought bubble 'And I thought the Kittens were mad...'
Welcome Tracy, new recruits always welcome.
No way I am switching from Loppy. I have been thinking of some teeshirt logos. LOPPY AND PROUD OF IT, LOPPY AS HELL, and so on, suggestions ladies?
Just off to do some sightseeing. But not before I figure out how to download those Lee solos Carys put on for us, looking for the new pictures etc etc
I have downloaded Carys's Lee songs, but you can get clearer mp3 tracks from this website http://www.lee-mead.co.uk/video.htm so it might be better to try this first Shirley.
Oh help, I dont know how to make it work, and I am in a bad way here. Can someone please take me through in very simple steps how to do that download?
Hello Loppy pals!
Thanks for all your info today everyone. Tracy, I was grateful for the details on how to listen to Lee's interview on the Chart Show, I straight away went and listened to it. Fingers crossed he is no.1 next week, he so much deserves it.
Have you bought that single yet, Louise? Don't be put off by a bit of rainwater - get your canoe out! I downloaded the single from iTunes but I thought I'd actually buy it from Tesco as well but haven't got round to it yet - will be doing my shopping tomorrow so it will go in the trolley with the onions!
Elisa - I did have a look at the video of 'It's Raining Men' on You Tube some weeks ago but I couldn't spot Lee. Need a clearer, full screen version and the ability to pause the image and look beyond Geri who gets in the way! (annoying woman!) Has anyone else spotted him in this video?
I got to thinking about what ingredients make Lee such a star - as he always stood head and shoulders above the others for me from the very start of ADWD. Many of the others had talent or were good looking, danced or sang well but Lee is the complete package. I've made a list:
Extremely handsome, killer gorgeous smile - and that hair!
Great musical talent - versatile vocalist and interpreter of songs
Stage presence - you don't see anyone else on the stage but him
Moves and dances well, uses the stage space to the maximum
Passionate about musical theatre
Wanted the part of 'Joseph' more than anyone else
Has enough experience of theatre to be realistic about the job
Determination and ambition
Looks after himself, keeps fit
Perfect height and build for the part
Great charisma and charm, no airs and graces
Have I missed anything out? Oh yes, the most mesmerising, sparkling eyes!!
I'm off to calm down and have a go at the downloads!
Hurrah! Just finished work and am catching up - you've all been busy.
Shirley, I don't have a clue how to download either. Was a complete internet novice before this site. I rush to the computer to get there before my girls. Luckily we have a laptop too. My 11 year old said "Mum, why are you addicted to Lee? Don't you love Dad?!" She didn't sound too worried, it was more an inquiry. Although if he turned up unnannounced at the door I would be in a quandry!
I thought I was the only one who'd scrutinised his every move (Louise I love the bit where he leans against the window too - I've printed a pic of it). I think if he ever looked at this site he'd be terrified! I'm going to have to go to the stage door when I see the show. Never done that before. I'll probably be crushed in the ensuing chaos. I'm determined to go again (which will be on my own). Shame some of us can't get together to see it en masse. I'm worried that I'm looking forward to it too much and will be let down. Just when I look forward to something it's never as good as I expected and when I don't, it's always really good. I know that seems near impossible if Lee's in it.
If they don't bring out a CD and DVD of him singing then they must be mad as I'm sure it would be a best seller.
I think this site is feeding my obsession but I don't care!!
The website I quoted is the Lee Mead Appreciation Society (quite a good site) - keeps up to date with new pictures etc. Go to the video/mp3 section and click on the picture at the bottom as instructed. This takes you to a site called Savefile. Click on whichever track you want to download and again, then save to your iTunes music library for example. Can then put tracks onto Ipod or mp3 player if you have one or listen to them online.
Hope this helps!! Now back to cooking dinner for the children...
Yes Trace, you missed out that wonderful smile.
Jackie you are a star, thank you so very much
I'm back! still a bit more work to do before home time but couldnt resist to check on you all! Trace- havent got it yet.....but am thinking that the tesco's may still be shut tonight so may have more chance tomorrow evening! I will see.
I'm so wishing I had my own ipod now we have a shared one, but never really needed one of my own before, I had promised myself one when I get a new car with the technology to take one but maybe i need one before now!! ,actually could i download onto my lap top then burn a cd?? ( not very tech savvy!!)
Shirley you are one dedicated loppy all the way from sante Fe, lucky thing!! know what you mean about scott, we must provide hours of amusement for him tho or is that scare him!!
Trace- I too spotted lee right form his first audtion on the first programme, I was like wow! (to myself)he is brilliant! you are right he does have that little something extra that makes him standout from the rest, that something which you cant describe, but he has it in bucketfuls! I do keep thinking to myself that tho he will be an amazing joseph I keep thinking that maybe i would prefer him to do phantom! HIm singing 'all i ask of you' must be amazing!! anyhow sure he will be doing so much more in the future.
I'm kicking myself as I think I must have seen lee perform in the touring production of miss saigon in 2005, i didnt get a programme though as we were late and we were sat very far back in the gods so i wouldnt have been able to see his face! , just think tho I saw him and didnt even know!! Funny story actually about Miss saigon- I love miss saigon was one of the first shows I saw in london years ago, and raved about it to my other half saying how the opening is great makes a real impact etc...he hated it when we saw it, his words..... 'i would have gladly shot her in the end myself' !
opps, half an hour gone, hurrah its home time!
michael buble's just on the radio, lee would be fab singing his song 'everything' one to request me thinks for his album!
Louise, you must be listening to Radio 2 as I was just singing to 'Everything' - one of my fave songs at the moment. Yes, Lee would sound great on that.
I have a confession - I haven't bought the single yet. Your'e all making me feel very guilty so may buy it when I'm next off.
I'd love to see Lee in Jesus Christ Superstar.
By the way, I'm not normally a fan but I thought Graham Norton presented the show really well - very theatrical and all that. It was like being at the theatre every Sat night which is prob why we all miss it so much.
Better go and cook dinner - chipoleetas, pots and leas! (peas in case your'e stuck).
Catch up later x
Hey hey hey – STOP!
Just been out earning an honest crust – only just enough time during the day to check the new pictures on josephthemusical site – I come home and find you have been chatting 19 to the dozen and I’ve missed loads. Listened to Close Every Door on repeat all the way home and (sorry Lewis, Keith) it’s such a shame it isn’t all Lee.
Anyway, no time to waste. I agree with everything everybody has said – favourite moments, Tracy, Fiona, all of them are mine too – and plenty more. I often just pause the Sky video at one of them when I’m too busy to watch – it’s like having a picture on display. Had no chance to watch any ADWD tonight as hubby was home early – asked me if there had been any play at Wimbledon and, I’m ashamed to say (as I watch it every year) I had completely forgotten about it.
Tesco – I went on Saturday to our huge superstore and they didn’t have sell singles at all, so I had to go to HMV.
Trace – good list. Maybe self-effacing should be in there. I think we’re all on the same wavelength here. We appreciate all his qualities (although being drop dead gorgeous is a good one). Also Debbie, I agree about Graham. I thought he held the show together very well.
By the way, thanks to you lot, I am now getting worried about seeing the show because that will be that. What I need is a Sky+ recorder in my brain so that I can replay it at will.
I love having likeminded friends to chat to. The guys at work just don’t seem to be interested!
Hi there! I'm a newbie on this site - hope you don't mind me joining in - stumbled across this site completly by accident when looking up Lee stuff and have giggled myself silly - but in a relieved kind of way since this proves I'm not the only one!!!!! Managed to get tickets for 14th of July (paid an arm and a leg but every single penny will be worth it!) and am counting down the days...
Bought the single and really know what you mean about "close every door to me"...Lee sings me to sleep every night via my ipod!
So pleased I found you all here!
Hi Loppies,
I keep getting caught red-handed sitting giggling at the computer, reading all your comments - my family know I'm not doing my homework! What cover-up excuse can I give?!
No cover up necessary! Surely your family appreciate that everything, including home work is insignificant compared to Lee - related research???????
Welcome Miri - my God, we're like a bacteria, multiplying every day!
Our main computer has another problem now and we can't get any sound (I'm sure my suspicious husband has something to do with this). Am now on the laptop but the sound on this is distorted for some reason and Lee sounds like he's 100ft down a well. Even Graham Norton sounds masculine with the deep voice. I'm becoming paranoid that everyone's out to get me..
Having never been a fan of anyone to this extent before I wonder if these sort of blogs always appear when someone new comes along eg X Factor winners? Surely they're not still obsesssing 2 weeks on like us dedicated nutters? I understand for the first time how fans like Take That felt when they split up all those years ago. If Lee had a change of heart and decided to give it all up I would be completely lost at sea (without the paddle and any provisions).
Has anyone seen an early clip of Him teaching some children a song and dance routine? Can't remember where I saw it now and it was on the other computer with the sound not working! Will have to check the history list tomorrow (unless I deleted it to avoid Hubby's prying eyes). As for now will sadly continue to watch Youtube videos whilst lipreading (believe me it's better than the deep well sound). Will get my last daily fix and be off to bed.
C U 2morrow!
Final check-in before bed and you've all had me sniggering to myself! This is all just so much fun.
I was wondering whether perhaps we might have to move on as this page seems to be getting as long as the last one (tip for the finger-weary: when the page loads up, hit the End key to get to the bottom of the page and scroll back a bit. Then again, with the size of some of our posts, it's no quicker!). I could maybe set up a Yahoo group and we could gradually migrate over there? I know this is our spiritual Loppy home but I'd hate for us to outstay our welcome!
Anyway, hubby's away for a couple of days from tomorrow so I can have lots of lovely Lee-time in the evenings - I foresee early nights for the children...! Night!
final check in before bed too, as I know tomorrow is going to be a busy day at work, till lunch time anyhow when I allow myself to come on here!! one has to have a break and it might as well be filled with Lee natter!
your comments make me smile Fiona - i too think this is so much fun! I'm so glad we have here to chat hope we dont have to move.... yet anyhow! maybe scott could recommend what we do, if we are starting to annoy him!?
well ironing was a pleasure this evening whilst i watched the final again, have picked some more favourite bits, love the knowing nod to his family and also his scared reaction with graham at the crowd, has me in stitches everytime oh and not forgetting his high pitched giggle. he does blow me away tho every time with his New york new york, so effortless! such a pleasure to watch someone enjoying themselves so much!
debbie- hope your computer sorts itself out soon, i get what you mean about the take that comment! do you know id even thought of that too.
Fiona- enjoy your lovelee leefilled evenings from tomorrow. it's great but sure our other halfs wouldnt think the same!! night
Goodnight all, only mid afternoon here and I have paid for 24 hour connection which sees me through til 8.30 tomorrow morning so should be able to see all your morning chat before I disappear again for a few days. Think the other half might start to wonder why it is so essential for me to be logged on - I have never even carried my laptop out of the house before, never mind travelled with it.
Like Louise I would prefer not to move, but if Scott wants us out of his hair we must find someway of keeping going, really enjoy the shared giggles and lunacy. And with the number of new Loppies still arriving I think we now have aduty to support them. So we get to have fun and offer a sisterly public service. Would be a shame if they did not discover how much fun being a Loppy can be.
Hi there. Real life has got in the way of me chatting so far today. I managed to kick my daughter off the computer for 5 mins after work and before doing tea but only had enough time to read all the new comments but it was enough to keep me going until i could come back later. Your comments really do brighten my day.
I agree with everything on your list Trace and i am sorry it took me so long to join in- i still can't believe i have done it! One of my worries, Fiona, was that Scott might worry if new people started joining in as well as i didn't want to be the cause of you all being thrown off.
Louise, on the Andrew Lloyd Webber site, it says Andrews section at the Diana concert is scheduled to start at 6.45 if that helps.
Shirley, i hope you have a great holiday. The kids keep on about getting a lap top and i always say no but i think they might have a point now. Jackie, i too thought i saw somewhere on the internet yesterday about him making an appearance in Southend on Sea but i can't find where i saw it. I don't know whether it would be right with all the rehearsals going on.
One of the school Moms presented me with a copy of the "Now" article today because she knows how much i like him. I had already got it (i ordered it with the shopping to be delivered last week as hubby was getting a bit paranoid that people were starring at him flicking through all the ladies mags in Asda!).I do agree i would prefer to see the natural Lee with that wonderful smile but i have added it to my collection of newspaper cuttings all the same.
I was a mad Take That fan in a previous life too so my friends are used to me obsessing about things. They understood that though and we were all devastated when they split up-shed many tears, but they don't quite get this latest obsession so i have given up trying to explain it to them. It's their loss!
Anyway it really is bedtime now. I used to go up early but since the show finished, i had been getting later and later- still watching past shows at 1 in the morning sometimes but i have been a bit better of late and talking on here seems to help. Goodnight.
thanks tracy for the info you beat me to it was just looking at the site and saw it and was just reporting back my findings. i love how we keep each other informed. just seen the clip with the hug lee gives craig, what a good hug, they both seem to come across as nice guys
right i am going to bed now!!
Ahh, obsession. I wouldn't call "Loppiness" an obsession, just a genuine appreciation of God-given talent and charisma!! Saying that, I seem to remeber someone not so far from me being convinced that she was going to marry Simon Le Bon some xxxyears ago (but we don't talk about that!!)! Frankly I'm grown up enough to know better but find this whole thing so much fun...watching a career develop and blossom, and it really couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Or a more talented one. And let's face it, to say he's easy on the eye is a bit of an understatement...!
Going back to Debbies' comment on other reality tv-show winners and their dwindling fame after a few weeks... I guess the difference with Lee is that he was always going to make it eventually, with or without a tv show, because I think true talent always gets recognised in the end. Luckily for us he did get on a tv show and was introduced to us at this stage...all the more reason for us to celebrate how brilliantly he's doing, and will carry on doing from know...the sky is the limit and it will be SO interesting to see what he does after Joseph... us Loppies have immaculate taste!
Must get to work! Oh, would love to see that clip of him teaching kiddies, and have also heard rumours of childhood photos of him on the net somewhere...? Look forward to logging on later and catching up with the latest from you all!
Hi all
I've been reading your comments on here and the previous weeks reports with interest, and like Debbie I also saw the video of Lee helping out with an Essex children's workshop, (I saw it in yet another fan forum, on LiveJournal) I stuck it in my favourites straight away, and it can be found here -
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=2037877285
Hope that works for you. What I like about this clip is that it shows him totally natural, helping out, ages before ADWD was even thought of. Around the time he was doing the Elvis Pharoah I'd guess from the sideburns:)
I also gave the link to another forum, the leemead.org one, who seem a nice bunch, and just as obsessed:) Maybe a little more exuberant with what I understand I should call 'squeeing'. I'm learning a whole new language here:)) From which you may gather I'm one of the slightly more mature fans:)) Although I've done more lurking than talking, I've checked out whatever links I could find.
Where's the hug between Lee and Craig to be found? Craig did come across as a nice guy, see the clip where they had to act unpleasant each other, Daniel says he couldn't think of anything bad about him:)) Lee says on one of his videos after Craig leaving that he will miss him. He was the last one left the same age as Lee, with a bit of 'life' experience, and I'd guess the teenagers may be fun but maybe on a different wavelength some of the time.
Morning Loppies, Loved reading all the comments last night. Didn't have time to post otherwise hubby might have wondered quite why I was on the computer again! That was a great list Trace of all Lee's qualities - I agree about his beautiful eyes, particularly when he's staring straight at the camera.
One of my favourite moments is him silhouetted at the window practising his song. Although I do really love the look he gives the girl just after he's kissed her at the end of Bad Day - oh to be in her shoes at that moment...
I agree with Shirley and Louise that I don't really want to move, but I guess it's up to Scott whether he minds . I feel most at home here along with all you other Loppies.
Debbie and Miri - this is the link to Lee's early workshop - so cute! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2037877285
I think you're right Miri that Lee would have made it in the end irrespective of the show. He would have been Raoul in Phantom at the moment as the lead's on holiday so I'm sure he would have got an opportunity. There's too much talent there for it not to have been noticed. I shall look forward to going to see whatever he does after Joseph.
I still can't quite believe that I feel so strongly about Lee two weeks on, guess it must be like Take That fans, but our man's a lot nicer... It is fun to share with you all though, so I guess that helps. See you all later.
Hi all. No work today so more chance to log on although this isn't getting the housework done!
Thanks for the link to the early workshop Gillian and Jackie- he is so natural and really good with the kids and moves very well. The wikipedia site says he was the principal in a ballet and the client of international theatre and music site lists all his talents in the dancing area so he is very accomplished- no surprise there.
Gillian, if you go on the andrew lloyd webber site, on the right is "Latest News" and then click on "more news" it brings up lots of video clips. The one with the hug between Craig and Lee is on the 10/4/07 video but there are lots of good clips to check out.
Off to clean the kitchen floor now- will log on again later. Bye.
afternoon one and all, hope everyone is well and not too tired from latenight loppiness!?
I must admit i was tired this morning, but threw myself into work and before i know it its lunch time!
In my late night loppiness i was watching a clip which had keith on being interviewed and he said how much he was pleased for lee and will go watch him.....BUT if he does it wrong he will be critical!! I couldnt believe he said that how does he know if he's done it wrong!? (sorry keith fans) not that lee will do it wrong at all, but very well in fact!
Am counting down the days now till sunday evening, how sad!! but am pleased that tonight I have a new ' lee behind the scenes' clip to watch . Am making the trip to buy the single tonight into a worthwhile one the supermarket which i think will have the single, is half way between my grandfathers house and mine so am going to very quickly pop into see him, then rush back with my purchase (as cd player in car is broken) cant wait!!
Right must get on but will most likely be back later!!
ladies been browsing a bit past my lunch break and Lee is in heat magazine!!! the article is scanned in on lthe lee mead live journel site, i was not going to read it till later but couldnt resist!
i wouldnt normally buy heat magazine but maybe just this once!!
Just as well hubby's away as there no housework has yet been done today (apart from one load of washing and I can't really take credit for that as it's the machine doing all the hard work!!). I downloaded the songs from the lee-mead site and have then spent ages trying to burn them onto a CD so Lee can come out and about with me in the car.
Love the clip with the kids' rehearsal, but I have to say he looks so much nicer with his lovely curls. I would love to see him doing some dancing - he never seemed to have all that much to do on ADWD, but what he did showed that he is a great mover! (He certainly can twist!)
Shirley - you seem to be taking this loppiness to the extremes, or are you striving to spread the word on Lee around the world? ;) Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Back later, no doubt!
What a relief - back on the therapy couch. Finally finished work again so can get down to real business! Have to get up at 5.40am but was loath to sign off last night. My Loppiness is making me ill!
Shirley - you could be Lee's press agent in America and get him a slot on 'Good Morning America'. As Fiona said - "Tell the world!"!
I'm quite happy to move sites as feeling guilty about abusing Scotts page. As we haven't heard from him for a while do you think he's nodded off with our ramblings? Wherever you go don't go without me!!
Why is it whenever I want to log on a member of my family suddenly appears and I have to keep minimising the page? There's a conspiracy between the three of them. I keep trying to tell people I know (or have only just met for that matter) or this wonderful person off the TV but they don't seem that interested and the conversation tails off or the subject is quickly changed. I think they see a look of desperation in my eyes and get frightened off. I really feel like I am entering a new dimension by talking to my Loppy friends - a place no woman has gone before (that sounds familiar!?!). We have become the Desperatelee Housewives. I know my blood pressure is slowly rising in anticipation of Sunday night. I'll be on Red Alert with the record button at 6.45pm (or my husband will have to be as I don't know how to use our new one - it's all posh and gets kept on a hard disk). Will have to take some oxygen before I calmly ask him if he could just tape a bit of the concert for me as I'm sure The Feeling are coming on (he likes them).
Oh bore - dinner beckons. I wish Lee beckoned - only in my direction of course.
Know what you mewan Debbie about minimising the page - getting very quick reactions!
I've seen the Heat article - picture's a bit weird, but Lee has a lovely smile on this one. He comes across as coping very well with all the attention - a very grounded young man (oh, that makes me sound old - I'm not!). I think Lewis or Keith would have struggled with all the press and having rehearsals, but maybe I'm biased.
Have just made some cakes with my daughter to try to keep me in reality, but sneaked away for a quick peek on here while they're cooking!
Really looking forward to the concert on Sunday - can't wait to see him perform again. Uh oh - that's the cakes ready, got to dash!
Just cooking Spaghetlee boleegnaise. x
I love all the food references but we only had a quick fish finger tea so can't come up with anymore at the moment!
Thanks for the details on Heat Magazine- i will definitely add it to the shopping list this week. I can't seem to get on the live journal site as i used to use the link from the Wikipedia site but it has gone but when i just checked there is now a link on the Wikipedia site to a video about the photoshoot Lee did for Heat magazine- you may have already seen this. He has to pull different poses bless him but looks fab in a white suit with his wonderful smile.
Must dash as ironing to finish & football to go to with my son. Can't wait for Sunday!
Gillian and Jackie - thank you so much for the link!!! he seems to be lovely with those kids, though there is a stern female voice telling him off for not knowing his lines...! On that note there's a very, very cute vid on heatworld.com of Lee doing his photo shoot for Heat magazine. I would put a link, but am sadly lacking vital computer skills and can just about switch this thing on and hit google!
I'm away with work for a few days from tomorrow and won't be anywhere near a computer for two days, and am already suffering withdrawal symptoms. My nearest and dearest have very little time for my ramblings and private smiles regarding all things Lee and it's fab coming here and knowing that this select group understand my need to catch up on the latest news and swoon in unison over the latest photos... Will have to get Heat to read on the train, methinks. And the concert to look forward to on sunday...!!!!! Can't wait!!
