One for the Loppies: Lee Mead and Preeya Kalidas interviewed

They call themselves Loppies — short for Lee-Obsessed People. I am, of course, talking about fans of Lee Mead, winner of Any Dream Will Do and now in rehearsals to play the eponymous Joseph at the Adelphi Theatre.

At the press launch earlier this week, The Stage’s Matthew Hemley caught up with Lee and his co-star Preeya Kalidas. The interview is now online.

Thanks for letting us know Scott. Is he as nice in real life as he appears on the screen?

Wow. Thank you so much Scott. Had not heard from you for some time and thought you might just be tolerating us. But what a treat. You star.

I sat reading Lee's interview with a smile from ear to ear. On the fame, recognition thing Lee said 'But I am not here for the fame - I am here for the show.' How refreshing. Many talent competitions now seem to be peopled with those who just want to be famous, with varying degrees of talent to carry them through. But ADWD was an audition, and I am so glad Lee is now part of ALW's troupe - he understands the benefits of nurturing talent and looking for longevity in his artistes, and that is what we want too. I still want to be going to see Lee in different shows in 20 years time having watched his career go from strength to strength.

Just one more question, can someone please tell me how the cast are feeling now they know who their Joseph is. Are they as relieved and pleased as we Loppies are? Don't want to think they are giving Lee a hard time.

Good interview.

Saw Lee singing the single version of "Any Dream will do" on Lottery show. A bit dissappointed. It sounds like they've used exactly the same backing track as the Jason Donavon version. Not only did I never like that version but it sounds terribly dated - very post Stock-Aitken-Waterman/early boy-band.

Hope the show is going to have a bit more originality rather than just being a complete retread. I'm sure Lee will be brilliant but I'd like to feel there's a few suprises, having seen the previous version so many times.

Thank you Scott. You're very kind to humour us Loppies, especially as we have hijacked your reviews pages!

It is indeed refreshing to see someone who is so talented but with a great work-ethic. He doesn't take this for granted and isn't going to rest on his laurels.

Long may you be successful in the West End and beyond, Lee!

Thank you Scott for the interview. I did enjoy all your reviews of the show and I have to thank you for your support of Lee in the final. I think Lee is amazing. When he sings, I forget about what the song should be like while I make that comparison all the time when I listen to contestants in any talent show. No matter how many times I watch his performance, I just want more. Guess I've joined the Loppies.

Why on earth have we not heard of Lee Mead before? I think he's sensational. Let's hope he doesn't lose the humility that he possesses and goes from strength to strength in his career.I've recorded all the Joseph show and he was outstanding in all of them, despite the 'tuning problems' that he so masterfully overcame.

Welcome Carole and Sherry. Isn't it lovely to discover you are not alone in your insanity.

The Joseph website has just been updated with a video clip of Lee being introduced to the cast to much applause. GREAT. Also there is a camera crew there filming it all, so hopefully a special coming up sometime soon?

I was disappointed in the seats I had been able to buy and contacted the hospitality people at the theatre and not only do they provide extras and VIP service, they also have some much better seats not available via the box office. They cost a lot more, but compared to the cost of travel and hotels not outrageous. So we now have really good seats and I am a happy Loppy.

Just followed the link through to the ALW site, and they have today posted some shots from the rehersals as well.

Thanks guys. We love being kept in touch.

Hi Loppies!

How wonderful is Scott? Not only is he tolerating us, he is positively encouraging us!! That was a great interview to read, THANKS!

I have just spent some time catching up with clips and news on the various websites - there is quite a mass of information collecting on the Net about Lee now. Still looking forward to that official website!

It would be fab is Lee were to include a track from 'Phantom' on his first CD. Not only is the music from that show gorgeous but it would be kind of fitting after he spent so long understudying.

Here comes my hubby - must dash!!!
XXXX

Thank you so much scott... I saw the link last thing at work so thought would save it as a treat for the evening and what a treat it was!

It made me laugh out loud when I saw it! god knows what Lee must think if he gets wind of all this!

Scott thanks for putting up with, humouring and supporting us! what a great interview, I would just dream to have your job down there in London, but then again so would probably lots of people! well actually the dream would be to be on the west end stage itself if I was honest, but in reality you know your own limitations!!

thanks loppies for the heads up on the other info just off to have a gander, i dont normally peruse the web on an evening at all, howver my other half is working away at the mo, so it would be rude not to make the most of the time wisely!!

Just one more thing (have already posted on the other comments page) - Shirley, I can't find the clip where Lee is being introduced to the other members of the cast. Can u help?

debbie it's on the offical joseph site on the intro page, just click away!! I wonder who gave him the big hug!? you think it was someone involved in the tv production??

gas man arrived.... typical the only time they dont come late!!

Good morning to you all. I had a lovely day yesterday. With window fitters here I had nothing to do but sit and Lee surf, what a hardship.

I agree about the problem of screamers, but hope that the whole atmosphere in the theatre will discourage them. I came across one blog yesterday which was peopled with young screamers and they were bemoaning Lee winning saying he did not appeal to them - more to mothers. What about the grandmothers say I, and Louise and Carol I promise to try not to scream at inappropiate moments.

Debbie I find if I www.josephthemusical.com I still get the old front page without the intro to the clips, but if I Google search for josephthemusical and then click on that it goes to the new front pagewith the links.

I am using this page of the blog for no better reason than it is shorter to the bottom of the page to read all your latest comments. How lazy is that!!

Hallo Shirley, I am intrigued by your comment that you contacted the hospitality people at the theatre for better seats. I have been trying to do the same but no luck so far. Could you tell me who you contacted and how? Thanks a lot!

Hi Helen. From the josephthemusical site click tickets and go through to the See site. There you go through to a calender that tells you you cannot book lots of dates online now. Above that are a few links including the one to the hospitality team. Spoke to the lovely Laura Pitt-Pulford who has been so helpful. If you email or leave a phone message they are first rate at getting back to you promptly. We have booked the VIP package which sounds just perfect for a special birthday treat, which is what I am arranging. Good luck, and let me know how you get on.

Hello Loppies everywhere!

How are you all feeling today? Another quiet Saturday night is approaching - roll on the Diana concert!

I enjoyed seeing the new clips on www.josephthemusical.com today - love the rehearsal scene.

I hope everyone is managing to get tickets for the show - they are going to HAVE to extend the run. I booked at the beginning of May when there were still 8 Josephs and then held my breath! I found that I got better seats for booking sooner as tickets for later in the year were all out with ticket agents and the Adelphi wouldn't know what was left until the agents had finished with them. Now it doesn't sound as though there is much left at all.

By the way, thanks Jackie for your tip on the previous Loppy blog page re the John Barrowman photos. Like you, I did think it was a bit strange that he was laying claim to them - they are nearly all freeze frames from 'ADWD' episodes and so surely the property of the BBC?! (apart from a couple of childhood pics of Lee). It was good to see them all, anyway.

Elisa, I have a similar dilemma to you in that I started to keep recordings of 'ADWD' on my Media Center from Show 4 onwards (wish I'd saved them all) and they are still all stacked up on there. I have been trying to save them onto DVDs but the software is playing up so I've only managed to do 2 shows. Not sure what I'll do long-term but they are staying there for now!! (husband not complaining so far so I'm keeping quiet!)

Bye for now!

Thanks for the info Shirley. Will try to find the rehearsals. I don't know which blog to log on to either. Am reading both lots!

Thanks ever so much for the tip, Shirley. Lee fans are wonderful at helping each other out! All the best and happy Lee-surfing!

In answer to a previous question. Yes Lee is wonderful in real life, he is a real gentleman, kind and caring with not a mean streak in him. I have followed his carerr for 4 years now and yes I do know him. To all regular Joseph fans we ALL spotted his talent years ago. The role in West End couldnt have gone to a nicer young man. So talented.

I agree with Lynda, Lee is a lovely guy, very talented and easy to chat to. I too know Lee and have enjoyed seeing him in the shows he has done over the years. For more information on Lee an photos go to my website.

A present for the Loopies - all Lee's solo performances from Any Dream plus the lottery show as audio capture files, please share to keep my upload alive!

Amazed to read Lee had never sung an Elvis hit before! what a great job he did with Devil in Disguise.

Morning all Loppies.

What horrible weather today - absolutely tipping down here. Guess I'll just have to stay inside and watch Lee - such hardship....

Lynda and Tanith, thanks for letting us know that Lee is such a nice guy in real life. It's so much better when someone is genuine about what they do. A refreshing change from all the celebrity obsessed people that do Big Brother and such like. Lee will become famous because he's very good at what he does, not just because he's been on TV or in the press.

Tanith, I think I may have seen your website already. Is there a photo of you with Lee outside a theatre? Are you from Birmingham? Because I saw Joseph at the Hippodrome at Easter starring Jonathan Parkin as Joseph, which was very good. We said at the time that he had star quality, also Melissa Nettleford stood in as narrator and gave an excellent performance.

Thanks Carys for the link. I've just downloaded the files and am in the process of transferring them onto my Ipod. Agree with you about Devil in Disguise - it was a great performance despite the top note, still one of my favourites.

The ADWD video is up on YouTube now,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b--IfKKC9pk but how could they put that bit in with Zoe telling him he was "a bit rubbish"?

Greetings and good morning to all my fellow Loppies. I got in well after midnight having collected my husband from Heathrow. Had a quick look here before heading off to bed and could hardly believe my eyes. Hello Lynda and Tanith great to hear from you both, and thank you for coming looking for us. It is good that Lee has such good and loyal supporters. I cannot imaging how hard it must have been for him to cope with all the rejections for much lesser jobs when he has that extraordinary talent. In my terms it is like Albert Einstein being told he is not up to teaching 4c physics in a failing comprehensive. Thank heavens he had the courage to risk all he had acheived to do Joseph. We would all have been the losers if he hadn't .I dont need a crystal ball to know that such rejections will not play any part in his future career. Loppies all, there is even a message from Lee on Tanith's site.

Carys thank you for your files - what on earth were you doing up at 0.4.30? Like you I loved Devil and Disguise. Actually I loved all the rock songs they gave him to sing. Paint it Black was something again. Maybe down the line when he has a bit more time an album of rock songs could be considered?

I tell you one thing for certain, my laptop is coming on holiday with me.

Morning Loppies.

Have another day off so time to indulge myself! After trawling through all the other sites trying to glean yet even more Lee material, I have come to the conclusion that it's always nice to come home to the Loppies. I like to think we're a more mature and informed crowd of maniacs (ha ha) who have Lee's best interests at heart.

I'm also worried about screaming women ruining the show. Hopefully Lee will pick me out in the crowd of mass hysteria as the one who is sitting demurely in her seat and not letting the inner turmoil and passions surface! Last night I got roped in to model at the school fashion show (purely lack of volunteers) and when looking at the clothes afterwards, spotted a rainbow-coloured blouse, not dissimilar to The Coat. I only just resisted from buying this monstrosity but I did think he might notice me.

By the way, have a good idea. Whilst queueing up with my green bags in that wonderful place that is Tesco (sometimes I just HAVE to go there) I thought of a great advert that Lee could do for them - never mind Body For Life, what about Bag For Life? - in that lovely cheesy American voice he does. Just a thought.

Sorry Tanith and Lynda, just been to Tanith's website and realise I got you the wrong way round. I think it may be Lynda that's from Birmingham. Losing my marbles...

Afternoon Loppies, sorry this is a very long post!!

Just caught up now with all the comments, and too agree that maybe we shold post here! tis easier to quickly take a sneak at work just from one site!

I agree debbie, i too feel our home is here, yes we are true loppies but actually care about the show side of it too!

Real life has annoyingly got in the way making me just log on now! Your comments have made me smile during my lunch, bag for life!!! excellent!!!
The arrival home of my lovely fella meant no watching of re runs last night, housework too had to be done to ensure the sense of normality continued( i never go on the computer normally at home) then a very busy morning this morning at work doing last minute preparations for big exhibition next week. I too have a loppy free wknd coming up too, but fear not ladies I will not be going cold turkey straight away as unfortunately have a week on my own next week , fella is off at above mentioned exhibition all next week, so im storing up all my loppiness till then! This thought will get me through! I can watch re runs and google till my hearts content, finnishing the week off nicely with the Diana concert which i can watch all on my own and not feel an idiot when im sat there with a huge grin on my face.

Shirley thats fab about the hospitality, we've done something similar to get tickets for october for cirque de soleil as they were sold out and it was actually other half who went off and sorted it all out, he saw them in las vegas and said we Had to see them together! It's the wknd after joseph so i know for a fact i couldnt get away with doing the same for joseph with the cost of the wknd in london too. I suppose am very lucky that he actaully is coming with me and likes the theatre! dont know how im going to control my inner turmoil and passions though like debbie said, i too will have to be sat demurely!!

Glad you told your friend debbie, i half told me friend before i discovered you ladies , that i was so excited i had booked tickets for joseph but was so gutted that they were in october, she completley understood and prob would be a loppy if she hadnt watched grease, the traitor!!! She did however see the final and wanted lee to win, she saw his obvious talent! i also excitedly told another friend who has just moved to london abut how jealous i was of her being there ( as Im up north) as she works near kings cross and would poss get random sitings of famous people (ie Lee waiting for his girlfriend!) she didnt get me, so Im leaving all confessions to the world of the web from now on, safe in the knowledge im not alone.

Right everyone if i dont get chance to come on here again today have a great wknd albeit our 2nd adwd free one! really looking forward to going on lynda and tanith's sites next week, what a treat!!! Do i just click on their names to get on them? welcome too to you both!!

Forgot to add how nice to hear that lee is just how he comes across, just shows he's the true professional and his acheivements so well deserved!! makes such a change that someone these days gets recognition for their talent and not just because, or playing the sympathy card.

Hope he isnt getting too nervous about all those people at wembley!!! probably too busy to think about it!!

Hello Loppies!

Some excellent updates on our official Loppy site (endorsed by Scott) from you all in the last 24 hours - such a great exchange of info and new websites to visit, thanks everyone!

I found a copy of the pic of Lee in 'Now' magazine on an unofficial website calling itself the Lee Mead Appreciation Society. I also have my reservations about the pic, complete with lipstick prints on his chest and collar - mind you, wouldn't have minded being the make up lady on that job! (steady, girl, get a grip!). Joking aside, though - for me, it doesn't really look like Lee. There are so many other great pictures of him to enjoy and I much prefer that dazzling smile any day.

Carol will be amazed when she returns from holiday to find that her friend who started calling her a 'Loppy' has started an epidemic!!

Keep on googling!

Afternoon Loppies. This page looks quieter. I’m getting RSI in my scrolling finger on the other page. Thanks for the interview Scott – much appreciated.

Catching up:
Like you, Louise & Trace, I loved the rehearsal scene. They all work really hard. I hope we get more from the josephthemusical site. As they’re recording we could possibly get a documentary. Every day I get more excited about going to the show. Only 26 days to go.

Jackie, Shirley, Fiona, Debbie - agree with the comments about Now. I thought it was a bit tacky and not really how he comes across, also dare I say, not the best picture facially of Lee. Like you Trace, I prefer the dazzling smile any day. Decided to remain aloof and not buy it.

As for the screaming. I’ve decided not to scream, as it would probably wake up my husband, who manages to fall asleep in any show as soon as the lights go down.

We’re a very refined bunch here aren’t we? I like to think we mainly appreciate Lee for his talent – don’t we??????????

Elisa,

Yes, you're right. It'e the talent that Lee's got, plus the disarming insecurity about it that has us all hooked!

Hi again,

I think you have summed us Loppies up very well, Elisa - we do appreciate Lee's talent combined with his charming, self-effacing personality. Can't stand arrogance (Seamus springs to mind) as it blots out any talent a person might have.

I literally didn't recognise Lee in the Now picture - it didn't do anything for me. He looks far sexier in ADWD on any week where he is smiling or singing directly into camera.

I watched the rehearsal scene again today on the Joseph website - can't wait to see Lee doing those curtain calls in person! Only 7 weeks, 21 hours and 35 minutes to go!!!!

This blog page will soon catch up with the 122 comments on the other one and then we'll have to ask Scott for a new page!!

Sorry to be so James Blunt (where did he come into it?) ladies but you're all talking absolute rot!! If beautiful Lee was an ugly old git you wouldn't be half as interested. Your'e all living in denial. By the way I haven't been on here all afternoon - if only. Just taking advantage whilst husband is out at the gym (it's too late for him to have a Body For Life but he's not too bad for 38)!

Yes Louise, real life got in the way - school run etc. I feel rather fortunate that my hubby isn't into the theatre - I'll be able to drool continuously. Am off to see Grease the following week (the mother-in-law and kids choice). Will feel like a real anticlimax after seeing Lee strut his stuff.

Have to keep deleting my visits here in the History lists as am on hubbys laptop. What a pain!

Have a good weekend Louise. See You Monday!

Better go and do dinner I suppose - what a drag, May cheer up the process by doing cooking association ie. I cook anything that relates to Him - got some LEEks in the fridge, make some gravLee to go with them and the chicken, or maybe a bit of PLeelau rice (sorry).

I think it's time I went.

Morning Loppies!

I don't know where you've all gone but I still need my therapy. Did I put you off with my awful 'jokes'. Sorry!

Just peeped at another site - I think it was www.leemead.org or something like that - and they were discussing the merits of being labelled Loppies. The general concencus is that it was a bit naff and they preferred something like Lovelees or Meadsters. Oh well, we're safe then. Aparently he's in Hello this week but not much new to report. May cast my eye over it. My husband wll be wondering why I'm buying all these daft mags.

Just wondering what you all think is a decent amount to log on to this site. I'm currently checking it out about 3 times a day. Seeing as you all seemed to have vanished maybe my obsession is worse than I thought! Is anyone out there?

I am still out here and appear to be getting deeper into obsession.Last night kids asked for mashed potato for tea and all I could think about was Lee doing the twist, I've got it bad.Off to watch devil in disguise!!!!!!!!!

Hi All

Getting bored. Keep Googling Lee but no more news. Visited all my stored websites. Bought the single this morning even though I’ve already downloaded it – got to keep the sales up and it’s in a good cause – and although the picture on the cd isn’t wonderful it’s the only one I can leave lying around without my husband thinking I’m completely nuts. I can’t even watch my sky recordings as he’s watching some rubbishy sports programme.

Tip for you Debbie – as well as deleting the history lists, if you’ve added all the Lee sites to your favourites, rename them as “washing machine reviews” or something similar – he’ll never check those if he’s anything like my husband. I think the food naming is good – how about ChilLEE MEADballs.

Someone give us some news soon please.

Careful Elisa! This food naming could get explicit.

Sorry. It was the first thing that came into my head. I think I’m going slightly mad.

I've forced myself not to log on until now - thought I ought to do the family bit at the weekend. But actually I've been cooking the dinner for the last hour listening continuously to Lee on my Ipod - lovely, but not as goos as watching him!

Hubby has fallen asleep on the sofa, and sons watching cricket, so sneaked away for a quick visit to Loppyland!

Good tip Elisa about renaming favourite sites - I've been getting paranoid. Can't wait for some new Lee material - only a week till the Diana concert. Hurrah!

I'm still here - hubby is around all day Fri-Sun so it's not so easy to visit. But he's in the pool at the moment with the eldest (she seems to be immune to the cold) and the littl'un is asleep, so here I am sneaking on.

Debbie - love the food references! Don't worry, I come here at least twice a day even if I don't post anything.

Elisa - love the Meadballs!!

Have just googled "Lovelees lee mead" and found the forum where they were debating the merits of our collective name. I think Loppies is just fine (particularly as there is no overt reference to the object of our obsession - discretion and all that!) I daresay there aren't too many husbands in Lovelee-land, whereas we're probably all old enough to be Lee's big sister!

Saved all Lee's performances onto the pc (albeit not the best quality, but it'll do) and have seen the video on youtube - lots of comments about it being a bit cheesy, but what do they expect on such a quick turnaround? The close-ups are jolly nice!

Just heard hubby say he's getting out of the pool, so I'd better go in a mo'. At least children have said they'll have leftovers for tea tonight so that'll be easy, plus hubby cooks on the weekend (yes, roast dinner and all)!

Right, I'm off - love-lee weekend to one and all!

Hi there Loppy pals,

Good to catch up with you all - am enjoying all the cuLEEnary jokes! Sorry I haven't been on here for a few hours, I'm on a course and have piles of homework and it looks as though we all disappeared for a quick reality check! Glad to see you're all back again!

I'm quite content to be a Loppy, personally - it just kind of happened to me without my noticing it and I'm not fighting it!

One of my favourite non-singing clips is on www.andrewlloydwebber.com (when you log on, there is loud music which will give you away if you are attempting disceet Loppy behaviour!). Click on Latest News and then on:
10 Apr 2007 Exclusive footage of the 12 Joseph finalists.
It's sweet to see Lee and Carig greet each other with a big hug; it seems they hit it off well in the Joseph House. I'm sure you have all seen this before but I enjoyed watching it again yesterday.

You're right - we need some new stuff and something to keep Elisa on the straight and narrow!! Another ADWD-less Saturday night is taking place - looking forward to next Sunday!
XX

!)

Trace,

Just sneaked onto ALW's site - loads of stuff I haven't seen. Will save that up for a private moment. Thanks!!

Struggling on the food naming, but I suppose we have just had LEEsagne (groan!!)

Just been to ALW site. Hadn't seen the Bill & John aftershow clip which was good. Not eaten yet but definitely having broccoLEE.
Just going to watch Dr Who.

Have just ordered up a curry - hubby's having Lamb Tikka SalLEE! And we'll both be having some pLEElau rice (hope you don't mind me nicking that one Debbie ;) )

Will check out ALW's site again - have seen various of the clips but not the one Trace mentioned. Will put sound on mute first!

I shouldn't sit here at my computer laughing out loud at your jokes because it will only encourage you!!!

Hope you enjoy the website clips and whatever you're all having for tea! (my tea includes onions which have been chopped up and tossed onto the meat in a casual way!)

Can't resist one last peek before I disappear for the night. I can see this food association taking off in a big way. Glass of Mead anyone?

Still finding new chat forums to read. Yet another one is discussing the merits of our name. They've decided to call themselves Lovelees like another crowd. They may wear t-shirts with an identifiable logo on when they see the show in order to recognise each other if they happen to go on the same night. Highly unlikely I'd have thought but a good idea. There'll be some sort of turf war going on soon with all these different Lee factions in the theatre!!

Nightie night.

Hi there. Just wandered if there's room for one more Loppy! I have been reading this sight for most of the series as i loved all the reviews and i have loved reading all the comments from the loppy brigade.

I am old enough to know better but am completely obsessed with the man himself. I am so missing my Saturday night fix but have got tickets for the 28/7/07 so am counting down although i don't know what i will do once i have been and have nothing to look forward too but at least i will have my memories. I am going with my mother-in-law who will be 78 & my neighbour who is 67 and they are both nearly as excited as me!

I had a dilema when they extended the show by one week as the final clashed with my wedding anniversary- but there was no contest and my hubby didn't complain bless him! My neighbour came round & we had a great night cheering Lee on. My teenage daughter takes the mickey out of me because every time anyone mentions "Lee" i can't stop grinning! Her and her friend changed the words to "Any Dream Will Do" to torment me but it was still very cute.

I have just heard that the single has gone in at Number 2 so well done Lee. It's a shame it didn't quite make it to number 1 but still a great achievement.

I too have been "googling" away but this site makes me laugh the most. I agree with so many of the comments made but have never quite plucked up the courage to join in. I totally agree that it is the talent that Lee has got and the fact that he seems totally unaware of how good he is that appeals. I just hope he is starting to believe in himself more so he can enjoy the whole experience and not get too nervous. He seemed very nervous on his first "any Dream Will Do" podcasts but did seem to relax a bit more as they went on so fingers crossed for him.

I don't think my obsessiveness is getting any less but i did calm down about it after reading all the comments on here and realising i am not alone! If anyone says the word "chop" i just imagine onions & steak and grin like a love-struck teenager-very sad!

Anyway i hope no-one minds me joining in as this late stage and thank you to everyone for helping me through the last few weeks. I am looking forward to the Diana concert next week and will keep checking the internet for any new news to share.

Hello, Is anyone there?

Just switched on Radio 1 Chart Show thinking Lee would be No 1 and he's Only No 2. Also, I switched on in the middle of an interview with him, so must have missed most of what he said. I am really annoyed with myself. Will have to wait to see if it has been recorded by anyone else or do the Listen Again thing on the website when it's on.

Did anyone else hear it?

Just a quickie tonight! Well done Lee on making it to number 2. I downloaded it today thanks to those lovely coke zero people and their free downloads weekend.

I was listening to Radio 1 while we were having dinner but unfortunately couldn't really hear anything of the interview over hubby and eldest's chatter. Will listen again tomorrow.

Welcome Tracy to our merry band. It's great to "chat" with like-minded people - the more the merrier.

Better go now and give some cuddles to little ones before sending them to bed.

Welcome Tracy. The more the merrier.

Had another dream about Him last night (my 2nd!) but can't quite get to grips with all the details. Shame!

Have been watching Glastonbury so have temporarily managed to put Devil in Disguise, Paint it Black and Jesus C S on pause in my head.

Have been wondering where to put the pics I printed of Him. They're wasted in my bedside drawer. May take a leaf out of Elise's book and stick them where hubby won't find them ie. the ironing board, washing machine, dishwasher etc. etc.

Googled 'Lee Mead youtube' (or something like that) and still managed to find some videos I hadn't seen before. Now off to find that Radio 1 interview.

Ooops. Sorry to have sounded cross before. Of course it's great that Lee has made it to No 2. (Congratulations Lee!) I was just cross with myself because I'd thought he might be on and I left it too late.

Hi Tracy - didn't see your post until I after I'd sent mine - you know we're all slightly bonkers don't you? Like you, I was supposed to be out on final night at a VIP (very important party) but my lovely husband made excuses for me, as I couldn’t possibly have left the house. In fact, I was so nervous I could hardly breathe, let alone walk or talk.

I've been listening to Close Every Door a lot since yesterday, when I bought the single, and Lee's voice is spine tingling on it. I can't wait to hear him sing it live. Due to lots of practice I also am now able to sing all the coat colours (admittedly, not very tunefully, but without error) so if they need an extra on stage, I’ll be there - 24 days and counting down.

Debbie, glad to see the ‘how to deceive your husband’ tips are spreading. We need more of these.

Hi Tracy - welcome to the gang! Glad to hear there's another one of us. Just off to listen to the Radio 1 interview. Thanks for the tip Elisa. More time to speak tomorrow.

Hi there Loppies!

Thanks for all your contributions today, this page is keeping me going!

Tracy - what kept you?! We needed you here before now! Glad you have joined the gang - hope all the other shy Loppies out there reading this will follow your example now!

Elisa - understand how you feel. I completely forgot to listen to the Chart Show so I missed everything. Am cross with myself. Did anyone else catch it? What did Lee have to say? I am thrilled he has come into the charts straight at no. 2 - perhaps he'll be no. 1 next week - must listen to the charts next weekend!

Have you all seen that clip on YouTube with a short-haired Lee in the audience of the Trisha Goddard chat show? It's only a fleeting second or two, but beggars can't be choosers at the moment. Log on to YouTube and type in the search box: 'Buzby Allen helps Trisha Out', then forward the clip to about 16 seconds - don't blink or you'll miss him! Sorry I can't come up with better than that for today - wish I could tell you all I've discovered a two-hour long concert just of Lee that nobody knew about!!!

Hi again. Thanks for the welcome. I have justlistened to the radio 1 interview online as i also missed it. If you go on the Radio 1 website and click on "Listen/Podcasts" on the left hand side and then look under the "on demand" section, the chart show is there. I fast forwarded using the 15 mons button until 2hours 30 mins had gone & then clicked the 5 mins button once. The interview comes on about 2 hours 37 mins or so. He says he hoped for Top 10 so number 2 is great. He sounds quite nervous i thought but has a lot of people in the background with him. They say what a nice person he seems and very humble which they like.

Thanks for the warning Elisa about you all being a bit mad but i think i lost my sanity a while ago too so don't worry! I played Close Every Door for my mother in law today and as you say it is spine tingling. He sounds amazing. I would love him to sing that next weekend but as least we can hear him live when we see the show. I am going to what the tape of the final again now as i haven't watched it for a few nights and there is nothing on the tv. I have got to have a wisdom tooth out Friday and i need to have a clear vision of Lee in my head to get me through that-see mad!

My friend is thinking of changing her job but it a bit unsure so i found myself telling her about the risk Lee took when he left Phantom to do the show. I think she understood what i meant about being brave and going for it but she thinks i am mad too!

Thanks again for the chat. Speak soon.

Just about to log off but had to add a last comment (my husband says I always want the last word!) Lee is just too perfect in every way - can a man get any better? It's obviously not just his good looks we're falling for because there's plenty of attractive men out there. It's his talents - acting, singing, movement, ability to give the right look and complete niceness. Is there anything wrong with the man?

Goodnight!

No, nothing.

Thanks for the Radio 1 instructions Tracy. I was just about to do the same myself so you've saved me some typing.

Also watched the 1 second YouTube clip! Has anyone seen the "Geri Halliwell - It's Raining Men" video? I think it's a waste of time actually - far too much of Geri looking painfully thin and it's hard to pick out Lee from anyone else.

Night all. Work tomorrow.

Just watched some of the final again and it has started my heart racing! He really is perfect. His face when Bill was praising him after New York New York when he looked down and shut his eyes always makes me thing ah. Also his jump off the stage when he gets through to the final 2 and punching the air and his strutting on to the stage for Jesus Christ Superstar- he really commanded the stage. I had nearly forgotton his little stumble at the top of the stairs when he came back to sing Any Dream Will Do- i was worried he was going to fall down them but i think a lot of people would have picked him up! Then there was that nod towards his family i guess when singing that final song which was very cute-everything he does is wonderful!

I did watch the Geri Halliwell video on YouTube but as you say, you cannot make Lee out and she definitely needs a good meal inside her-steak & onions perhaps!

Anyway must go to bed now with a smile on my face ready for work-boring. Sorry if my radio 1 instructions were a bit simple, oh and by the way my mother in law will only be 77 when we see the show-sorry! Goodnight.

I have to confess - I did actually miss the final (thank goodness for Sky+) as hubby and I went to see Howard Jones do an acoustic gig. As this was his b'day present and he'd been waiting for it since April I could hardly say I wanted to stay home! (Have to say though it was a great gig, about 150 people, as good as last year's.) I was determined not to find out the result til I watched it but curiosity got the better of me and I risked a peek at the BBC news website. It made watching it all the sweeter!

Am just listening to Close Every Door for the first time and I've got goosebumps! I guess they mixed it once they knew the winner so they could make him more prominent.

Better go get small people dressed for school/playgroup, and hubby keeps phoning asking me to email docs to him that he's forgotten to take to work. Real life has a habit of getting in the way of loppiness! Probably just as well really - keep us from going totally insane! Back later.

Morning loppies.I agree with all the comments about Lee being perfect. He sounded so cute on the radio last night but then you can watch him singing paint it black and he is so intense and dark, truly a man of many images all of which make me weak at the knees. My obsession seems to be getting worse.I had never bothered much with the computer before Lee but now am a master googler! Husband checked the history and fell about laughing as it was all of Lee.I also walk about with a stupid grin on my face when his name is mentioned.Oh I feel the need to watch JCS again will try to ignore Keith and focus on Lee and his bouncing.

Can anyone help with an address to send fan mail to Lee? I really want to send him a card wishing congrats that he won, but not sure where to send it to make sure he gets it. I, too, am totally obsessed with the lovely one (sigh).

Aahhh... just had a bit of Lee-time whilst doing the ironing. Listened to the chart show (thanks Tracy for the time-check, saved me wearing out the 5m button!). It's lovely to hear other people remark on how modest and humble a person Lee is. It makes the success all the more deserved.

Have to say, I think my favourite Lee-moment in a performance in ADWD is in Daydream Believer when he does that little hesitation thing before running up the stairs - brilliant!

Jan - you could try writing to him at his agent's address, go to internationaltheatreandmusic.com.

PS - some new pics are up on the Joseph site.

I, too, have listened to the Radio 1 interview. He sounds lovely on it - the presenters are quite right. He is amazingly humble in interviews. He really does seem to have it all, good looks, talent, the ability to put things across so well when he is performing and no arrogance with it all. His girlfriend is very lucky.

Love watching the video of the single, although I still want to hug him when Zoe says "a bit rubbish" to him. He looks so sad and yet brave about it. Oh dear. I really am losing it this morning...

I'm sure I read somewhere that he appeared at a concert last night. Anyone know anything about it?

Good afternoon Loppies old and New,

Just managed to log on (real life in the way again) and am so pleased to see that loppiness is in still full force and you've all got through the wknd ok. Feel like ive missed out but better late than never so im sorry if this is really long (again). A girl needs her therapy tho! .
Actually got through the wknd ok, think it was the thought of my lee filled week- being able to surf undectected! We do need more how to deceive your husband ideas!!
Did tell my friend again how excited i was about the tickets she didnt mind it was her birthday wknd i would be missing either! so only 13 weeks or so now till I go. god like Tracy said what am I going to do once ive been, i wont be able to get away with going again!!

You have all made my very wet Monday lunchtime, catching up on all your comments has made me sit here with a huge smile on my face and your food comments priceless!! So pleased its not only me with the food, i was cooking steak the other night and it did make me think of lee and laugh, will have to get him on the old rib eye tho, much better than his sirloin in my opinion!! wouldnt it have been good if when they were on the F word with denis van outen a while ago if Gordon had took lee into the kitchen to cook, bet he would have loved it!!

Congratulations to lee being number 2 thats brill, to say its not mainstream and there's hope yet, for the number one!! I must confess i have not yet got it (hope it wasnt a close call sorry Lee), due to the only ipod in the house being my other halfs, so this week have a planned outing to tesco's ( as normally shop at the one endorsed by Mr Oliver) to try get the single. These are my reasons to justify the extra trip- it may help it stay up there in the charts, its also for charity and i remember buying the jason donovan version when i was young, think it was on record single too, ( like the one lee had next to his bed!) so it wouldnt be fair not to support lee! i do think the video is a tad cheesy but the lee bits are good, despite the rubbish comment from Zoe, bless him. Im sure lee thinks it is extremely cheesy tho too!!

Ohh cant wait for tonight, thanks ladies for all the heads up on the info, now er has finnished they'll be nothing on tonight so i think i may iron to the final of ADWD ( sorry keith have to fast forward your bits) then do a bit of surfing. love reading all your fav lee moments too and couldnt agree with you all more i wont comment on all otherwise this will be even longe as there are loads! one of mine tho is when you see him leaning on the window singing when rehearsing, dont ask me why!?

cannot wait for the diana concert, if anyone finds out when he is expected on, pls let us know, will save me from recording the whole thing!

oh no just found out that the tesco's i was going to is shut as its flooded!! the trip will have to wait till tomorrow!

May be back later but work calls for now!

Good morning my lovely Loppies. Greetings from Sante Fe. I seem to have spent the whole weekend travelling, but here for the week now, so logged on to see how you all are. Devil in Disguise played in my poor brain all the way over the Atlantic, working on switching it to Paint it Black which really blows me away. I had this wonderful mental image to keep me smiling though. Think cartoon. Scott sitting at his desk, head in hands, thought bubble 'And I thought the Kittens were mad...'

Welcome Tracy, new recruits always welcome.

No way I am switching from Loppy. I have been thinking of some teeshirt logos. LOPPY AND PROUD OF IT, LOPPY AS HELL, and so on, suggestions ladies?

Just off to do some sightseeing. But not before I figure out how to download those Lee solos Carys put on for us, looking for the new pictures etc etc

I have downloaded Carys's Lee songs, but you can get clearer mp3 tracks from this website http://www.lee-mead.co.uk/video.htm so it might be better to try this first Shirley.

Oh help, I dont know how to make it work, and I am in a bad way here. Can someone please take me through in very simple steps how to do that download?

Hello Loppy pals!

Thanks for all your info today everyone. Tracy, I was grateful for the details on how to listen to Lee's interview on the Chart Show, I straight away went and listened to it. Fingers crossed he is no.1 next week, he so much deserves it.

Have you bought that single yet, Louise? Don't be put off by a bit of rainwater - get your canoe out! I downloaded the single from iTunes but I thought I'd actually buy it from Tesco as well but haven't got round to it yet - will be doing my shopping tomorrow so it will go in the trolley with the onions!

Elisa - I did have a look at the video of 'It's Raining Men' on You Tube some weeks ago but I couldn't spot Lee. Need a clearer, full screen version and the ability to pause the image and look beyond Geri who gets in the way! (annoying woman!) Has anyone else spotted him in this video?

I got to thinking about what ingredients make Lee such a star - as he always stood head and shoulders above the others for me from the very start of ADWD. Many of the others had talent or were good looking, danced or sang well but Lee is the complete package. I've made a list:

Extremely handsome, killer gorgeous smile - and that hair!
Great musical talent - versatile vocalist and interpreter of songs
Stage presence - you don't see anyone else on the stage but him
Moves and dances well, uses the stage space to the maximum
Passionate about musical theatre
Wanted the part of 'Joseph' more than anyone else
Has enough experience of theatre to be realistic about the job
Determination and ambition
Looks after himself, keeps fit
Perfect height and build for the part
Great charisma and charm, no airs and graces

Have I missed anything out? Oh yes, the most mesmerising, sparkling eyes!!

I'm off to calm down and have a go at the downloads!

Hurrah! Just finished work and am catching up - you've all been busy.
Shirley, I don't have a clue how to download either. Was a complete internet novice before this site. I rush to the computer to get there before my girls. Luckily we have a laptop too. My 11 year old said "Mum, why are you addicted to Lee? Don't you love Dad?!" She didn't sound too worried, it was more an inquiry. Although if he turned up unnannounced at the door I would be in a quandry!

I thought I was the only one who'd scrutinised his every move (Louise I love the bit where he leans against the window too - I've printed a pic of it). I think if he ever looked at this site he'd be terrified! I'm going to have to go to the stage door when I see the show. Never done that before. I'll probably be crushed in the ensuing chaos. I'm determined to go again (which will be on my own). Shame some of us can't get together to see it en masse. I'm worried that I'm looking forward to it too much and will be let down. Just when I look forward to something it's never as good as I expected and when I don't, it's always really good. I know that seems near impossible if Lee's in it.

If they don't bring out a CD and DVD of him singing then they must be mad as I'm sure it would be a best seller.

I think this site is feeding my obsession but I don't care!!

The website I quoted is the Lee Mead Appreciation Society (quite a good site) - keeps up to date with new pictures etc. Go to the video/mp3 section and click on the picture at the bottom as instructed. This takes you to a site called Savefile. Click on whichever track you want to download and again, then save to your iTunes music library for example. Can then put tracks onto Ipod or mp3 player if you have one or listen to them online.

Hope this helps!! Now back to cooking dinner for the children...

Yes Trace, you missed out that wonderful smile.

Jackie you are a star, thank you so very much

I'm back! still a bit more work to do before home time but couldnt resist to check on you all! Trace- havent got it yet.....but am thinking that the tesco's may still be shut tonight so may have more chance tomorrow evening! I will see.

I'm so wishing I had my own ipod now we have a shared one, but never really needed one of my own before, I had promised myself one when I get a new car with the technology to take one but maybe i need one before now!! ,actually could i download onto my lap top then burn a cd?? ( not very tech savvy!!)

Shirley you are one dedicated loppy all the way from sante Fe, lucky thing!! know what you mean about scott, we must provide hours of amusement for him tho or is that scare him!!

Trace- I too spotted lee right form his first audtion on the first programme, I was like wow! (to myself)he is brilliant! you are right he does have that little something extra that makes him standout from the rest, that something which you cant describe, but he has it in bucketfuls! I do keep thinking to myself that tho he will be an amazing joseph I keep thinking that maybe i would prefer him to do phantom! HIm singing 'all i ask of you' must be amazing!! anyhow sure he will be doing so much more in the future.
I'm kicking myself as I think I must have seen lee perform in the touring production of miss saigon in 2005, i didnt get a programme though as we were late and we were sat very far back in the gods so i wouldnt have been able to see his face! , just think tho I saw him and didnt even know!! Funny story actually about Miss saigon- I love miss saigon was one of the first shows I saw in london years ago, and raved about it to my other half saying how the opening is great makes a real impact etc...he hated it when we saw it, his words..... 'i would have gladly shot her in the end myself' !

opps, half an hour gone, hurrah its home time!

michael buble's just on the radio, lee would be fab singing his song 'everything' one to request me thinks for his album!

Louise, you must be listening to Radio 2 as I was just singing to 'Everything' - one of my fave songs at the moment. Yes, Lee would sound great on that.

I have a confession - I haven't bought the single yet. Your'e all making me feel very guilty so may buy it when I'm next off.

I'd love to see Lee in Jesus Christ Superstar.

By the way, I'm not normally a fan but I thought Graham Norton presented the show really well - very theatrical and all that. It was like being at the theatre every Sat night which is prob why we all miss it so much.

Better go and cook dinner - chipoleetas, pots and leas! (peas in case your'e stuck).

Catch up later x

Hey hey hey – STOP!
Just been out earning an honest crust – only just enough time during the day to check the new pictures on josephthemusical site – I come home and find you have been chatting 19 to the dozen and I’ve missed loads. Listened to Close Every Door on repeat all the way home and (sorry Lewis, Keith) it’s such a shame it isn’t all Lee.

Anyway, no time to waste. I agree with everything everybody has said – favourite moments, Tracy, Fiona, all of them are mine too – and plenty more. I often just pause the Sky video at one of them when I’m too busy to watch – it’s like having a picture on display. Had no chance to watch any ADWD tonight as hubby was home early – asked me if there had been any play at Wimbledon and, I’m ashamed to say (as I watch it every year) I had completely forgotten about it.

Tesco – I went on Saturday to our huge superstore and they didn’t have sell singles at all, so I had to go to HMV.

Trace – good list. Maybe self-effacing should be in there. I think we’re all on the same wavelength here. We appreciate all his qualities (although being drop dead gorgeous is a good one). Also Debbie, I agree about Graham. I thought he held the show together very well.

By the way, thanks to you lot, I am now getting worried about seeing the show because that will be that. What I need is a Sky+ recorder in my brain so that I can replay it at will.

I love having likeminded friends to chat to. The guys at work just don’t seem to be interested!

Hi there! I'm a newbie on this site - hope you don't mind me joining in - stumbled across this site completly by accident when looking up Lee stuff and have giggled myself silly - but in a relieved kind of way since this proves I'm not the only one!!!!! Managed to get tickets for 14th of July (paid an arm and a leg but every single penny will be worth it!) and am counting down the days...
Bought the single and really know what you mean about "close every door to me"...Lee sings me to sleep every night via my ipod!
So pleased I found you all here!

Hi Loppies,

I keep getting caught red-handed sitting giggling at the computer, reading all your comments - my family know I'm not doing my homework! What cover-up excuse can I give?!

No cover up necessary! Surely your family appreciate that everything, including home work is insignificant compared to Lee - related research???????

Welcome Miri - my God, we're like a bacteria, multiplying every day!

Our main computer has another problem now and we can't get any sound (I'm sure my suspicious husband has something to do with this). Am now on the laptop but the sound on this is distorted for some reason and Lee sounds like he's 100ft down a well. Even Graham Norton sounds masculine with the deep voice. I'm becoming paranoid that everyone's out to get me..

Having never been a fan of anyone to this extent before I wonder if these sort of blogs always appear when someone new comes along eg X Factor winners? Surely they're not still obsesssing 2 weeks on like us dedicated nutters? I understand for the first time how fans like Take That felt when they split up all those years ago. If Lee had a change of heart and decided to give it all up I would be completely lost at sea (without the paddle and any provisions).

Has anyone seen an early clip of Him teaching some children a song and dance routine? Can't remember where I saw it now and it was on the other computer with the sound not working! Will have to check the history list tomorrow (unless I deleted it to avoid Hubby's prying eyes). As for now will sadly continue to watch Youtube videos whilst lipreading (believe me it's better than the deep well sound). Will get my last daily fix and be off to bed.

C U 2morrow!

Final check-in before bed and you've all had me sniggering to myself! This is all just so much fun.

I was wondering whether perhaps we might have to move on as this page seems to be getting as long as the last one (tip for the finger-weary: when the page loads up, hit the End key to get to the bottom of the page and scroll back a bit. Then again, with the size of some of our posts, it's no quicker!). I could maybe set up a Yahoo group and we could gradually migrate over there? I know this is our spiritual Loppy home but I'd hate for us to outstay our welcome!

Anyway, hubby's away for a couple of days from tomorrow so I can have lots of lovely Lee-time in the evenings - I foresee early nights for the children...! Night!

final check in before bed too, as I know tomorrow is going to be a busy day at work, till lunch time anyhow when I allow myself to come on here!! one has to have a break and it might as well be filled with Lee natter!

your comments make me smile Fiona - i too think this is so much fun! I'm so glad we have here to chat hope we dont have to move.... yet anyhow! maybe scott could recommend what we do, if we are starting to annoy him!?

well ironing was a pleasure this evening whilst i watched the final again, have picked some more favourite bits, love the knowing nod to his family and also his scared reaction with graham at the crowd, has me in stitches everytime oh and not forgetting his high pitched giggle. he does blow me away tho every time with his New york new york, so effortless! such a pleasure to watch someone enjoying themselves so much!

debbie- hope your computer sorts itself out soon, i get what you mean about the take that comment! do you know id even thought of that too.

Fiona- enjoy your lovelee leefilled evenings from tomorrow. it's great but sure our other halfs wouldnt think the same!! night

Goodnight all, only mid afternoon here and I have paid for 24 hour connection which sees me through til 8.30 tomorrow morning so should be able to see all your morning chat before I disappear again for a few days. Think the other half might start to wonder why it is so essential for me to be logged on - I have never even carried my laptop out of the house before, never mind travelled with it.

Like Louise I would prefer not to move, but if Scott wants us out of his hair we must find someway of keeping going, really enjoy the shared giggles and lunacy. And with the number of new Loppies still arriving I think we now have aduty to support them. So we get to have fun and offer a sisterly public service. Would be a shame if they did not discover how much fun being a Loppy can be.

Hi there. Real life has got in the way of me chatting so far today. I managed to kick my daughter off the computer for 5 mins after work and before doing tea but only had enough time to read all the new comments but it was enough to keep me going until i could come back later. Your comments really do brighten my day.

I agree with everything on your list Trace and i am sorry it took me so long to join in- i still can't believe i have done it! One of my worries, Fiona, was that Scott might worry if new people started joining in as well as i didn't want to be the cause of you all being thrown off.

Louise, on the Andrew Lloyd Webber site, it says Andrews section at the Diana concert is scheduled to start at 6.45 if that helps.

Shirley, i hope you have a great holiday. The kids keep on about getting a lap top and i always say no but i think they might have a point now. Jackie, i too thought i saw somewhere on the internet yesterday about him making an appearance in Southend on Sea but i can't find where i saw it. I don't know whether it would be right with all the rehearsals going on.

One of the school Moms presented me with a copy of the "Now" article today because she knows how much i like him. I had already got it (i ordered it with the shopping to be delivered last week as hubby was getting a bit paranoid that people were starring at him flicking through all the ladies mags in Asda!).I do agree i would prefer to see the natural Lee with that wonderful smile but i have added it to my collection of newspaper cuttings all the same.

I was a mad Take That fan in a previous life too so my friends are used to me obsessing about things. They understood that though and we were all devastated when they split up-shed many tears, but they don't quite get this latest obsession so i have given up trying to explain it to them. It's their loss!

Anyway it really is bedtime now. I used to go up early but since the show finished, i had been getting later and later- still watching past shows at 1 in the morning sometimes but i have been a bit better of late and talking on here seems to help. Goodnight.

thanks tracy for the info you beat me to it was just looking at the site and saw it and was just reporting back my findings. i love how we keep each other informed. just seen the clip with the hug lee gives craig, what a good hug, they both seem to come across as nice guys

right i am going to bed now!!

Ahh, obsession. I wouldn't call "Loppiness" an obsession, just a genuine appreciation of God-given talent and charisma!! Saying that, I seem to remeber someone not so far from me being convinced that she was going to marry Simon Le Bon some xxxyears ago (but we don't talk about that!!)! Frankly I'm grown up enough to know better but find this whole thing so much fun...watching a career develop and blossom, and it really couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Or a more talented one. And let's face it, to say he's easy on the eye is a bit of an understatement...!
Going back to Debbies' comment on other reality tv-show winners and their dwindling fame after a few weeks... I guess the difference with Lee is that he was always going to make it eventually, with or without a tv show, because I think true talent always gets recognised in the end. Luckily for us he did get on a tv show and was introduced to us at this stage...all the more reason for us to celebrate how brilliantly he's doing, and will carry on doing from know...the sky is the limit and it will be SO interesting to see what he does after Joseph... us Loppies have immaculate taste!
Must get to work! Oh, would love to see that clip of him teaching kiddies, and have also heard rumours of childhood photos of him on the net somewhere...? Look forward to logging on later and catching up with the latest from you all!

Hi all

I've been reading your comments on here and the previous weeks reports with interest, and like Debbie I also saw the video of Lee helping out with an Essex children's workshop, (I saw it in yet another fan forum, on LiveJournal) I stuck it in my favourites straight away, and it can be found here -

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=2037877285

Hope that works for you. What I like about this clip is that it shows him totally natural, helping out, ages before ADWD was even thought of. Around the time he was doing the Elvis Pharoah I'd guess from the sideburns:)

I also gave the link to another forum, the leemead.org one, who seem a nice bunch, and just as obsessed:) Maybe a little more exuberant with what I understand I should call 'squeeing'. I'm learning a whole new language here:)) From which you may gather I'm one of the slightly more mature fans:)) Although I've done more lurking than talking, I've checked out whatever links I could find.

Where's the hug between Lee and Craig to be found? Craig did come across as a nice guy, see the clip where they had to act unpleasant each other, Daniel says he couldn't think of anything bad about him:)) Lee says on one of his videos after Craig leaving that he will miss him. He was the last one left the same age as Lee, with a bit of 'life' experience, and I'd guess the teenagers may be fun but maybe on a different wavelength some of the time.

Morning Loppies, Loved reading all the comments last night. Didn't have time to post otherwise hubby might have wondered quite why I was on the computer again! That was a great list Trace of all Lee's qualities - I agree about his beautiful eyes, particularly when he's staring straight at the camera.

One of my favourite moments is him silhouetted at the window practising his song. Although I do really love the look he gives the girl just after he's kissed her at the end of Bad Day - oh to be in her shoes at that moment...

I agree with Shirley and Louise that I don't really want to move, but I guess it's up to Scott whether he minds . I feel most at home here along with all you other Loppies.

Debbie and Miri - this is the link to Lee's early workshop - so cute! http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2037877285

I think you're right Miri that Lee would have made it in the end irrespective of the show. He would have been Raoul in Phantom at the moment as the lead's on holiday so I'm sure he would have got an opportunity. There's too much talent there for it not to have been noticed. I shall look forward to going to see whatever he does after Joseph.

I still can't quite believe that I feel so strongly about Lee two weeks on, guess it must be like Take That fans, but our man's a lot nicer... It is fun to share with you all though, so I guess that helps. See you all later.

Hi all. No work today so more chance to log on although this isn't getting the housework done!

Thanks for the link to the early workshop Gillian and Jackie- he is so natural and really good with the kids and moves very well. The wikipedia site says he was the principal in a ballet and the client of international theatre and music site lists all his talents in the dancing area so he is very accomplished- no surprise there.

Gillian, if you go on the andrew lloyd webber site, on the right is "Latest News" and then click on "more news" it brings up lots of video clips. The one with the hug between Craig and Lee is on the 10/4/07 video but there are lots of good clips to check out.

Off to clean the kitchen floor now- will log on again later. Bye.

afternoon one and all, hope everyone is well and not too tired from latenight loppiness!?

I must admit i was tired this morning, but threw myself into work and before i know it its lunch time!

In my late night loppiness i was watching a clip which had keith on being interviewed and he said how much he was pleased for lee and will go watch him.....BUT if he does it wrong he will be critical!! I couldnt believe he said that how does he know if he's done it wrong!? (sorry keith fans) not that lee will do it wrong at all, but very well in fact!

Am counting down the days now till sunday evening, how sad!! but am pleased that tonight I have a new ' lee behind the scenes' clip to watch . Am making the trip to buy the single tonight into a worthwhile one the supermarket which i think will have the single, is half way between my grandfathers house and mine so am going to very quickly pop into see him, then rush back with my purchase (as cd player in car is broken) cant wait!!

Right must get on but will most likely be back later!!

ladies been browsing a bit past my lunch break and Lee is in heat magazine!!! the article is scanned in on lthe lee mead live journel site, i was not going to read it till later but couldnt resist!
i wouldnt normally buy heat magazine but maybe just this once!!

Just as well hubby's away as there no housework has yet been done today (apart from one load of washing and I can't really take credit for that as it's the machine doing all the hard work!!). I downloaded the songs from the lee-mead site and have then spent ages trying to burn them onto a CD so Lee can come out and about with me in the car.

Love the clip with the kids' rehearsal, but I have to say he looks so much nicer with his lovely curls. I would love to see him doing some dancing - he never seemed to have all that much to do on ADWD, but what he did showed that he is a great mover! (He certainly can twist!)

Shirley - you seem to be taking this loppiness to the extremes, or are you striving to spread the word on Lee around the world? ;) Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Back later, no doubt!

What a relief - back on the therapy couch. Finally finished work again so can get down to real business! Have to get up at 5.40am but was loath to sign off last night. My Loppiness is making me ill!

Shirley - you could be Lee's press agent in America and get him a slot on 'Good Morning America'. As Fiona said - "Tell the world!"!

I'm quite happy to move sites as feeling guilty about abusing Scotts page. As we haven't heard from him for a while do you think he's nodded off with our ramblings? Wherever you go don't go without me!!

Why is it whenever I want to log on a member of my family suddenly appears and I have to keep minimising the page? There's a conspiracy between the three of them. I keep trying to tell people I know (or have only just met for that matter) or this wonderful person off the TV but they don't seem that interested and the conversation tails off or the subject is quickly changed. I think they see a look of desperation in my eyes and get frightened off. I really feel like I am entering a new dimension by talking to my Loppy friends - a place no woman has gone before (that sounds familiar!?!). We have become the Desperatelee Housewives. I know my blood pressure is slowly rising in anticipation of Sunday night. I'll be on Red Alert with the record button at 6.45pm (or my husband will have to be as I don't know how to use our new one - it's all posh and gets kept on a hard disk). Will have to take some oxygen before I calmly ask him if he could just tape a bit of the concert for me as I'm sure The Feeling are coming on (he likes them).

Oh bore - dinner beckons. I wish Lee beckoned - only in my direction of course.

Know what you mewan Debbie about minimising the page - getting very quick reactions!

I've seen the Heat article - picture's a bit weird, but Lee has a lovely smile on this one. He comes across as coping very well with all the attention - a very grounded young man (oh, that makes me sound old - I'm not!). I think Lewis or Keith would have struggled with all the press and having rehearsals, but maybe I'm biased.

Have just made some cakes with my daughter to try to keep me in reality, but sneaked away for a quick peek on here while they're cooking!

Really looking forward to the concert on Sunday - can't wait to see him perform again. Uh oh - that's the cakes ready, got to dash!

Just cooking Spaghetlee boleegnaise. x

I love all the food references but we only had a quick fish finger tea so can't come up with anymore at the moment!

Thanks for the details on Heat Magazine- i will definitely add it to the shopping list this week. I can't seem to get on the live journal site as i used to use the link from the Wikipedia site but it has gone but when i just checked there is now a link on the Wikipedia site to a video about the photoshoot Lee did for Heat magazine- you may have already seen this. He has to pull different poses bless him but looks fab in a white suit with his wonderful smile.

Must dash as ironing to finish & football to go to with my son. Can't wait for Sunday!

Gillian and Jackie - thank you so much for the link!!! he seems to be lovely with those kids, though there is a stern female voice telling him off for not knowing his lines...! On that note there's a very, very cute vid on heatworld.com of Lee doing his photo shoot for Heat magazine. I would put a link, but am sadly lacking vital computer skills and can just about switch this thing on and hit google!
I'm away with work for a few days from tomorrow and won't be anywhere near a computer for two days, and am already suffering withdrawal symptoms. My nearest and dearest have very little time for my ramblings and private smiles regarding all things Lee and it's fab coming here and knowing that this select group understand my need to catch up on the latest news and swoon in unison over the latest photos... Will have to get Heat to read on the train, methinks. And the concert to look forward to on sunday...!!!!! Can't wait!!

Said I'd be back...! Thanks for the tip re Heat, shall get a copy tomorrow. On the back of that I went to Heat's website (heatworld.com) and there is a video clip of Lee during the photoshoot. Love the bit (about 0.32) where the photographer tells him to work it and he does his James Bond look. The name's Mead, Lee Mead!

Children are fed, so not completely deserting my household duties, just got to feed myself now. Hmmm, had cauleeflower yesterday (with other stuff, but none of it Lee-related).

I know I've said it before, but this is so much fun - everyone's sense of humour is great and I love all the references to minimising screens, deleting histories, etc. That last one being very useful as it means I don't have to keep switching from hubby's to my logon. Just so long as I actually remember to do it - two children, brain not what it was, definitely have Wogan moments of forgetting what I've gone upstairs for (having just remembered what it was after forgetting the first time)! It's lovely to share this admiration of such a talented person with you all.

Now, which of my three ADWD's will I watch tonight??

Hi
Back from work again and hubby has gone to play golf so no page minimising for me! Thanks to everyone for the links. It saves such a lot of Lee time.

I just love the new name, Debbie – Loppies, the Desperatelee Housewives. It has a certain ring to it.

I watched the workshop video earlier today at work (thanks for the link Gillian and Jackie) without sound and didn’t realise it was Benjamin Calypso at first. I managed to watch it later with sound and Lee is brilliant with the children isn’t he? I like the leap off camera towards the end.

Also just been looking at the first sing-through pictures (maybe lose the hat, Lee) and I can’t help wondering how Lewis or Keith would have coped with that after only two weeks rehearsal and not having Lee’s experience with the show – well, not having any experience at all.
Link to Heat Magazine (I hope): http://www.heatworld.com/Article.aspx?articleid=1324&title=Exclusive!+Behind+the+scenes+on+our+Joseph+shoot
Going to watch some Lee now while I have the chance.

Zoomed off at top speed to buy Heat mag - hid it in a copy of the Radio Times as feel I am a little old (at 43) to be purchasing such tittle tattle. Wonderful answers to some naff questions. You tell 'em Lee!

Watched the video of his interview but with the sound still broken it was torture. My lipreading will have to improve.

Too lazy to page up to remind myself who was off to Tesco to buy the single but was stopped in their tracks by a mere flood - HONESTLY!! - but whilst on my singular quest to buy Lee items there (Heat mag and CD) I was nearly in need of resusitation - SHOCK! HORROR! I searched desperately for the CD singles and was then told they don't stock them anymore. Will now have to traipse to the next big town when I have time which will not be very soon. How will I cope?

Debbie, purchased my copy of Heat hidden in the Daily Telegraph this afternoon (at 42 I agree with you, would never normally get such a rubbishy mag). He handles the questions really well. The video is lovely, so sorry you can't get sound on it yet. He's just so nice with everyone.

You can get the single in HMV or Woolies, not sure where else. It's great, but Keith's nasal voice really annoys me in Close Every Door. And he sings "lan dov" instead of "land of" which grates. I remember being told not to run words together at choir at school (many moons ago). You'd think Zoe would have sorted something as basic as that out for him. Needless to say Lee does it perfectly! Can you get the download to keep you going? I am so glad I have a background in IT. Little did I know how useful it would be!!

Thanks for the sympathy Jackie. Still haven't worked out how to download yet - I must be one steak short of a few onions!! Will return to the laptop and the "I've fallen down a deep well" sound and see if I can catch anything - wish I could catch Lee, sigh, swoon, drool, dribble etc. (yuk!).

Must be strict with myself tonight and log off early so I can get some sLeep plus actually say goodnight to the girls before they doze off - poor kids! Abandoned by their mother for a curly-haired Adonis. Oh well.

Looking forward to tomorrows blogs once I finish work. Sweet dreams.

Just had a loveLee time watching the semi-final again accompanied by a nice glass of ChabLee. I obviousLee have to practice my coat colours to Joseph’s Coat, love the Oh! What a Circus duet (well half of it), and especialLee love the little slip up at the end of Livin’ on a Prayer that got all the praise for Best Cover Up.

Husband having returned by then, I then decided I had to do penance by cLeening the cooker, but almost gave my little game away by singing various Lee songs while doing so. My husband now thinks I like cLeening the cooker so that’s another job he’ll never offer to do!

I think my spelLeeng is becoming erratic now. Maybe I should get an earLee night to prepare myself for buying Heat Magazine, possibLee hidden in a copy of Now. (onLee joking)

Oh Debbie, you have me in stitches with your deep well sound and Lee catching!

Jackie, you're right, Lee does have great diction and sings so clearly without running words together.

I being a mere 36 can still (just) get away with not having to hide Heat in another, more high-brow publication, although it might start to get a bit obvious if I have too many magazines featuring Lee lying about (that's the mags not Lee, though he can lie about my house anyday of the week!).

Tonight's viewing choice was the final - some damn fine performances there, with just a bit of ffwd through everyone else and rewinding of Lee. But now I am away to bed to have a bit of a read before sweet dreams. Maybe tomorrow I will try and limit myself a bit, oh and do some housework! Ta ta!

Just got back after a night with the girls and a bottle of wine- on a school night too! They were teasing me about my Lee ramblings and i defended myself, and Lee, admirably but they still don't get it! I will leave them in their blissful ignorance and chat to my fellow Loppies who understand.

My hubby leaves the computer on now as he knows i will always have one last look at something Lee orientated! Elisa all your "Lee" words are very impressive. Debbie i hope you can get your computer sound sorted soon.I am 40 but will get my hubby to get Heat magazine so won't have to worry about hiding it!

Off for a final peruse of YouTube before bed.

evening ladies

just checking in before bed and you have me too in stictches!

this will provide another one for you! on my lee quest this evening heading to tesco's before doing my family duty of seeign my grandad, i was so excited that in amongst all the diversions and mayhem of road closuresI went compLeetly the wrongway into a one way bus depot thing to have scary lady bus driver beeping at me! most funny thing was loads of people followed me! it was chaos! anyhow after all of that I was only to be told too debbie that they no longer sell cd singles..... I did buy heat magazine tho to compensate but I must say what a load of tosh, and im an acceptable age to buy it at my mere 27 years, but i will have to not leeve it lying around as I never normally buy it. tho well done lee at answering some rather naff questions!

have enjoyed watching the latest clips, behind the scenes was funny 'work it' ! he he, the workshop was adorable too, he was doing it with his girlfriend i think,if my ears deceived me. very natural tho, would love to see him really dance too!

right my mission tomorrow evening is to try and download and burn my own lee filled cd since i will have to wait till the wknd to get the single , (unless i really go out of my way to the outlet which has a hmw open till 8!) I am using an old lap top of other halfs for loppiness as he had to get a new one as this is tempremental so am not holding my breath that i will beable to actually do it, I hope so!! best get some sleep, dont want to cause any road accidents tomorrow aftrer my near miss this evening!!

Morning all, thanks Tracy for directions to Craig and Lee.
I enjoyed the Heat article, pics and the video especially, he is so gorgeous! I bought Now magazine earlier, kept the article and threw away the rest of the mag and that picture, which didn't do much for me, although I do have a scan on the computer, in case I change my mind. I will scan the Heat articles in as well I think - I have a Lee folder in 'my documents' where all the links and stuff are - so I can re read it any time.
I could only have a very brief bit of Lee indulgence last night, with all the quick minimising we are all going through. My system is to have the videos etc in a minimised screen with another 'sensible' web page full scren underneath, so I can just click on the underneath page. And my screen speakers are temperamental, so I have a good excuse to be listening through headphones. Looking forward to the weekend, when my husband's working and I'm not, so I can enjoy Lee full screen and volume again.
See you later.

I am living up to being a DeparateLee Housewife, having spent all morning cLeening! Can't believe how much dust has accumulated during my Loppiness.

Loved all the comments last night, but am desperateLee jealous of those of you who still have ADWD to watch on TV. My darling hubby cleared out the Sky+ box of anything he didn't want so am stuck with YouTube clips! Has anyone got the facility to put at least the final onto DVD for me? PLeese!!!!

Like the tip about a "sensible" screen underneath Gillian and also putting all the links in a Lee folder. MIght do that.

I'm still dreaming that I shall win a pair of tickets to the opening night and planning my outfit for the after show party. Mind you, I have a bit of weight to lose before then I think... Catch you later.

Hi loppies, Husband gone to pick up son from school so spent the time constructively catching up on the latest Lee news.
MIRII am going to see the show on the 14th of July can't wait. It is Lees birthday that day so he better not have the day off.
This obsesssion is getting worse, Heat magazine on top of shopping list!!

Woke up this morning thinking of Elisa's chilee meadballs. What a glorious way to start the day.

Louise, I'm desperatlee jealous that you are not old enough to be His mother! I only feel 25 but I don't think that's good enough. Your'e as young as you feel so the saying goes and I'd sure like to feel Lee (only in a respectful way you understand).
I'm surprised you felt your foray into the bus depot was a bad thing. Is He not worth it? We're all heading down a one way street to Loppy madness anyway so you were half-way there!

Mustn't spend all day in Loppyland. Will take a Leef out of your book Jackie and go find some dust - not too difficult.

C u later!

Oh Loppies, thank you so much for somem lovelee giggles. I am still jetleeged as hell here so awake at 4. Restrained myself until 6 but here I am again. Finalee got rid of Devil in Disguise from my brain and woke to Jesus Christ - final version. When joined the wish for a Sky + facility in my brain I had not realised that like Sky+ that would not come with an edit facility, so I get Keith as well, most annoying, especially the bit when they do the snap to eyes forward and each time they show Keith doing it and only after switch to Lee. Have to do what I do when watching on screen and concentrate on Lee rocking with the music and waiting his turn when he just explodes into it. Sigh.

I am sure that Scott will be doing one of his excellent reviews of the concert on Sunday and we could move there, but in the meantime I had a peek and some of the early shows only have a couple of comments after, including all bets are on, which only has 3 - how say we hop over there until Monday?

Hi all! Have just read the Heat article (after having a good laugh here first, and doing a bit of housework and playing with little one too). Great pictures - looking good as Pharaoh!

Understand what you mean, Debbie and Louise, there were certainly a few naff questions in there, they were realLee trying to get him to dish some dirt, but we know that Lee is far too decent a person to be bitchy. I think he handLeed it all rather well. I laughed at his "I like to run in the other direction and be safe" answer. Aaahh, he's so lovely about his famiLee too.

BTW Louise, love the fact that loads of people followed you on your little excursion to the bus depot - priceless! Did you have a sticker on your rear window saying "Follow me if you're Loppy"?

Right, off to spend some "quaLeety time" with my little girl, try and not think about Lee for a while and be a normal, sane, rational Mum!

Hi Loppies,
Am startng to like my little routine of working hard all morning and then allowing myself some lee time over lunch. tho unfortunately next week my evening visits will have to stop as fella returns. but do not fear ladies i will make use of any spare moments I have. and we do have sunday to look forward to.

good luck for sunday Lee!!

debbie i agree im well over half way into loppy madness, he is worth the odd driving mishap. dont be jealous, if i was in another world and got to meet lee and he was single, i wouldnt be his type as im very much a brunnette, and he seems to have a thing for blondes!! also if I'm honest, i much prefer an older man, but then again lee would be an exception!!
I agree, as you say you are as old as you feel, or is it the woman you feel? There is no age limit to loppiness!

right will be back later, happy cleening/ reading/watching everyone!
Jackie-
I too wish the whole joseph programmes were available to watch, we need the bbc to bring out a dvd of the show!!!!
I only have the final but its on some weird hard drive thing and I havent a clue how ot put it onto a disc, sorry!

I’m at work but thanks to rushing the payroll this morning (so someone might get the wrong pay but c’est la vie) I now have a time for a coffee and a browse at my favourite site.

Actually, I had decided to call an end to all this Loppiness and get a life, but I can’t. I might have been able to if I hadn’t found you lot but it’s so much fun. I have to confess I bought Heat at lunchtime but rolled it up on the way back, cut out the interview and then hid the rest behind the filing cabinet. I’ll have to sneak it into the recycling bin when I get home. I agree with you all about the way Lee handled some of the intrusive and naff questions. He’s obviously as gorgeous inside as he is outside.

I’m not at work tomorrow so, if I get time, I’m going to have a go at recording one of the programmes off Sky onto a DVD. I’ll let you know how I get on. Back to work for now.

Another pressie for the Loppies - decorate your computer desktop screen with LEE! I have made a wallpaper to share
http://public.fotki.com/CarysSigs/siggy-requests/wallpaper.html
enjoy - it may be getting added to the Lee Mead website soon:-)

Hi Gang,

Phew - I just had a scare when I clicked on my link to this page (which is naturally in my Favourites folder) and it came up with 'Page Not Found' - I thought I'd lost you all! Blind panic! I had to go a very roundabout route to find you today and catch up on all the latest links you all so kindly include - just love that one of Lee and Kerry running through the ' Benjamin Calypso' with the children!

Great to see you are all still as mad as ever and I can't help noticing that your spelling is reeLee going downhill!!

Jackie - I am going to have a go this weekend at putting the Final onto DVD for myself. If it works, I'll do one for you as well (was it your hubby who deleted it 'accidentalLee'?)

Speak soon, Loppies!

Trace, just did the same thing and had to go onto Stage Blogs and then TV Today. Should we tell Scott that there is a problem, do you think? I'd really apprLeeciate a copy of the final if you can do it. Thanks ever so much. (Yes it was my dear hubby who tidied up the Sky box, although strangely it seems to be full of his stuff on series link now!!)

I was worried everyone was lost tonight, so glad you made it through. Doesn't seem right without a quick bit of Loppiness in an evening. Have amused myself watching Lee bouncing when Keith is singing in Jesus Christ Superstar. I'd love to see Lee in JCS - he'd be great. So passionate and yet tender.

I loved the clip of Lee and Kerry doing the Benjamin Calypso too, especially his leap off camera at the end! He's got a nice touch with the children.

Come back all you lost Loppies - hope the page works again soon.

Thanks for that Carys but don't think my husband would appreciate it - shame.

Had a panic of my own when he came home from work and said to me "Lee only drives an old £400 car". I thought he'd found my stash of Lee material in my beside drawer! He'd read it in The Sun (sorry to lower the tone my well read readers - he gets it for the sports pages of course, ha ha). I frantically searched the paper for an article and after much flicking to and fro eventually spotted a tiny snippet literally about Lee and his car and nothing else. Felt very crestfallen for the next half an hour.

Computer still soundless. I'm nearly on my hands and lees (sorry, knees) begging my husband to try and fix it. I'll be writing to Jimmy Saville next. On the subject of writing, was wondering whether Lee would appreciate a letter from me personally. I'm sure he's waiting for one. Never written fan mail before. Where do you send it to and what the hell do you say? "I love you Lee. Your'e the best thing since time began. You can sing, dance and act to perfection" etc etc. It would all sound a bit naff but at least he would then know I existed (along with thousands of others). Any ideas?

By the way, with all these creative spelleengs, it's lucky he wasn't christened Marvin or something unrhymeable (is that a word?).

Husband just came over and I didn't have time tp minimise. I've been rumbled. Asked about the sound problem yet again but he said he'd try tomorrow (he said that yesterday). He's deserting me in my hour of mead.

Day off tomorrow so plenty of spare Loppy time.

Sweet meads (almost dreams of you turn it around and lose the R). x

Aargh! I thought Scott had pulled the plug on us, but you wouldn't be so cruel, would you Scott? What would we do?

Debbie, I don’t know how you’re coping without sound. It hasn’t been sabotaged has it? Go for it with the letter. Just send it to the Adelphi. He’s bound to get it there. Don’t tell him you inhabit this page though. If he’s read anything on it he’ll think we’re all head cases. (?)

There's a new clip on ALW site: "Andrews Exclusive Video Tour of The Adelphi" but it was all a bit hazy due to the technical rehearsal going on. I think it might have been Lee who came on and sat down in the middle but I’m not absolutelee certain.
http://www.andrewlloydwebber.com/sections/news/newsdb.php?article=86

Very tired tonight. I think it’s the stress of losing the page.

Hmm, it's very odd, as it's certainly still here!

I've been doing some internal rejigging, as we're launching a new blog in the run-up to our Edinburgh Fringe coverage, and at the same time trying to speed up blog pages for writers, readers and commenters alike. But nothing we've done should have broken any existing page links...

If any of you still have this page bookmarked, and that bookmark is still producing an error, can you check the web address that's saved? The only thing I can think of is that something's changed in that link.

If you do spot any differences, please email me the details to tvtoday@thestage.co.uk and I'll look into it!

Thanks

A quick peek before bed - I tried to have a non-Lee night tonight: read some of my book, watched some normal TV, but lo and behold my fingers automaticallee called up the Sky+ planner and I just had to have a quick run through of his final performances.

Just watched the ALW clip, couldn't make out much but it did bring back memorlees - hubby took me to see Chicago at the Adelphlee for my b'day in January (my first West End trip), we were in the fifth row of the stalls. In case any of you haven't been there, the Jessie Matthews bar is fab - the wine glasses are so huge you get about half a bottle in. Needless to say, a pre-show drink and an interval tipple made the evening go rather swimminglee!

Carys - lovelee screensaver. Debbie - hilarious as ever. Jackie - I've just been watching a bit of Lee-bouncing too, but I can't help but think of ABBA every time they do the "Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ" head turn thing!

I do have just one little niggle with "Close Every Door" - I'm not that keen on the very ending ("a la-nd") as I feel that they all strain and swoop slightly between the low and high note. Maybe it's just because I'm so used to listening to my older versions of Joseph. Yes, I'm a Joseph-nut with 4 different recordings (including 2 from Bill Kenwright's long-running production), the DVD and 2 musical scores - like Lee, it was the first musical I saw and it has always been my favourite as you always come away from a performance knowing that everyone on stage has had as much fun as the audience.

I'm starting to ramble now, so I think it may be time to withdraw. Look forward to another Loppy day tomorrow.

just a quick one as my lap top is about to die on me. the cable is downstairs and im tired after my u tube viewing!

thanks scott fo your input, does this mean we're allowede to stay for now? i havent had any probs tho with the site touch wood!

sorry youve been rumbled debbie, he shouldnt tease you with snippets of info. good for you writiing a letter, dont think im brave enough!

watched some good clips toinight, lee stood out very much on paul o grady show, ive even had a look at some other stuff other than just Lee bits as i trailed through- there is a clip of lewis dancing in a stage school thing, he is very good i must admit, we need clips of lee like this! i also nearly cried at daniels exit interview, he obviously was very close to Lewis in the house, bless!!
thanks elisa for the new info on ALW's site think will save that for tomorrow, off to sleep and hope to have sweet meads too!

Scott, thanks for taking notice. I've e-mailed my links to you.

Glad it wasn't just me having probs finding our gang today! I found this page by doing a site search! Have made a new bookmark! Glad you like the pic:-)

Quick note to everyone in case you've missed it:

Tomorrow (Friday) Lee will be in the 'Entertainment Today' section of GMTV (8.35-9.25am)

GET READY TO RECORD!

So far its been a lovelee day, sat at my desk this morning and Lee came on the radio, think thats the first time Ive heard the single played radomly on radio 2, was very nice to listen to with my first cup of tea of the day..... then to find out that we have an apearance on breakfast tv to look forward to tomorrow, brilliant! will be rushing home on friday after work to watch it before the princes interview me thinks!

If its a quiet afternoon at work, i want to try and sneakily download some music to get me through my mammoth clean and sort out of the house this evening. We have colleagues from the States coming (from the exhibition) and staying with us on Sunday evening, before they fly back, i was told this last night, and I looked round the house this morning and the house doesnt look its usual organised self, opps! plus with house and greys anatomy to watch I may try and resist from watching lee..... until tomorrow that it is.

probably will be back later!

Good news older Loppies. It'll be Lees' birthday on 14 July so we'll be one year nearer our hero. 17 years is a much more respectable age gap (in my case).

Louise, regarding fan mail, I'm not really brave enough but have a new plan. I can send him a birthday card! If I write " Lee Mead, Talent Extraordinaire" on the front it's bound to reach him unless the postmans' been living on Mars. If I enclose a SAE and a £50 note I wonder if I'll get a reply. May get more response if I write to Kerry with the question "What's it like to be Britains' most envied woman"?

Watched more silent videos of Him last night. Bit like going back in time to the 1920's and Charlie Chaplin. I'm almost losing the beautiful sound of Lee's voice replaying in my head. It's like going cold turkey (not that I'd know). If the other half doesn't fix it soon we'll be heading for the divorce courts. Oh well, at least I'll be young, free and single (ahem). Sorry to bore you with my sad tale but your'e the only ones who understand.

Good to hear from you Scott. I thought we'd bored you into migrating to another site.

What with your bad driving Louise and your binge drinking (!) Fiona, what hope is there for us? I can see what you mean about Abba, Fiona. That made me laugh. It's taken away the magic of the performance somewhat.

One last comment (thank God they chorus), thanks sooo much for the Entertainment Today tip, Elisa. Will be at work so will have to bribe hubby big time to record it. Hopefully it'll end up on Youtube anyway.

Best stop all these new words - it's getting reallee sillee.

Sorry, Debbie for taking the shine off JCS for you - wasn't intentional. Having watched it again last night, I was at risk of getting distracted by Keith's over-emphasising his pronunciation in the chorus. Managed to hold it together and keep focused on our boy!

Right now I'm getting distracted by Tim Henman doing his usual "why win in 3 sets when I can agonise the crowd for at least 4"!

Thanks for the tip Elisa - will hopefully remember to record it on the PC.

Just think, not long now til Joseph will get reviewed in these hallowed pages and we can hijack another page for our loppiness!

Off to pick eldest up from school.

Elisa, thanks for the tip about GMTV. Will have to record that whilst taking the children to school. Nice little treat to look forward to.

Love the idea about Lee being nearer our age soon Debbie. Howvever I think I might still be regarded as taking a toyboy of that age, although I do recall someone saying it's as young as you feel. Boy, would I feel 25 with Lee around!

Can't believe your hubby hasn't fixed the sound yet Debbie, doesn't he realise the torture you're going through. Definitely divorce proceedings I reckon...

Looking forward to hearing Lee on Sunday - it'll be so good to watch him doing something new, although I expect it will be something from Joseph, which is my long time favourite musical ever since childhood (me too, Fiona). I've got various recordings and saw the Bill Kenwright touring production at Easter - fab!

Got to go - children to collect!

Good morning Loppies, good to hear you all. I had trouble getting onto the site last night, but assumed it was a flaky connection this end. But this morning fine, and a reassuring message from Scott. Many thanks. We appreciate your patience - I cannot tell you the panic I went into when I thought I could not find my fellow Loppies.

I hope to goodness the entertainment today interview with the lovelee Lee is youtube soon. Have sky+ but no remote way to set it. That would have been such a good welcome home. Please post all about it so at least I know what I have missed. Groan.

Having a snoop around yesterday and found the Unofficial Lee Mead fan club, but endorsed by Lee. It is Lynda and Tanith so they are getting some good stuff on there. Seems it is unofficial because the official one is still in the offing, but they recognise our hunger for inteLeegence.

Debbie, if you need witnesses when you sue for divorce you have lots of us who will happily testify that your husband's failure to fix the sound on your computer is cruel and unreasonable behaviour!!!

Bought an amazing 3/4 length jacket yesterday. Thrilled with it, but frightened my poor husband to near death by telling how much I paid for it. Anyway he took one look at me in it and said 'JOSEPH'. So now I am being called Jo. I think the obsession thing must be really bad if I am starting to dress the part, had not even realised.

Have a lovely day Loppies, and I will try to check in later. Isnt it next week that the reviews start?

well ladies....... Im sat here typing this with my newlee burnt cd playing hurrah, I can leave work happy and get on with my cleening this evening with lee in the background. its been a quiet afternoon and thanks to the lee-mead.co.uk site ive managed to download the songs sneakily and without any hassle.
well best get of home so maybe they will be time to be back later.

get those recorders ready for tomorrow!!

Hi everyone - I'm new here - I'm a Lovelee but can I be a Loppy too? I am loving the fact that I can go online and share my admiration of Lee with like-minded people. Basically people can tag me with anything they want - at the end of the day - like thousands of others, I just really, really appreciate pretty much everything about Lee and what he has brought to Musical Theatre. I'm just so delighted that he has been discovered!

It is so pleasing to see Musical Theatre being represented by such a warm, intelligent performer whose dedication and passion for what he does is matched in equal measure by his self-effacing and unassuming character...a pleasure to see a genuine soul do well.

So, anyway, hope I can be a Loppy now too...whatever I'm called - that's me a Lee fan for good!!!

Welcome Liz,

You can be a Loppy, Lovelee or anything you like so long as you appreciate what a star has been found in Mr Mead! You seem to feel the same way about Lee as all of us Loppies do. He's such a wonderful performer, getting to the emotional core of any song, and in addition is such a nice self deprecating man. He really does deserve the break that has come his way, after all the hard work and effort he has put in, to finally get the reward must be very satisfying.

We do also appreciate his lovelee looks, including those gorgeous dark curls and beautiful sparkling eyes. Need I go on...

All Lee fans are very welcome here - means that rest of us are joined by more and more fellow Loppies, which has to be good. Although buying a Joseph coat seems to be going a little bit far Shirley! Do you think rainbow colours would suit me??

Catch you all later.

Have just laughed manicallee at all your comments. It's all getting too much.

Glad you've seen the light and joined a sensible site where we all talk with such authority Liz, HA!

Will you wear the coat to the show Shirley? Remember, I nearly bought a technicoloured blouse at the school fashion show. It was a close shave. I wonder if any of us would ever recognise each other if we passed in the street. How would we look I wonder - permanent smilee face, brightlee coloured clothes, quietlee humming musical theatre. (I don't even have to try with the word switch anymore - it just comes naturalee).

Oh good, hubby off out with the kids to TaiKwondo. A bit of Lee time. Off in search of new youtube clips.

Hello Liz, welcome to the gang. We’re a very discerning bunch as you’ve found and you seem to fit in very well.
I am very jealous of Shirley’s coat, so I thought I might cut up all my clothes and sew them back together randomlee. Mind you, as most of them are painted black it might not work.

Looking forward to Sunday’s concert, I found an old cutting (just happened to keep it) from when there were 6 Josephs left and thought you might be interested to read what Jason Donovan said about the chances of Lee winning:
“Lee’s a seasoned performer and it shows. I think he might be a bit too polished. The public vote with their hearts and Joseph is about more than just being the best singer and actor.”
Yes, Jason. I remember thinking at the time that with Lee having no other qualities he might as well give up there and then!

Just been listening to Lee’s songs in the car. I’m actually starting to enjoy driving to and from work. No more road rage for me. At traffic lights I sit there with an inane smile while people bleep at me. I have turned into a Better Person.

Just thought I’d share that with you.

Hello Lovelee Ladies!
I found your site yesterday after reading the Stage interview and was so pleased (as was my husband!) that I am not the only woman who has gone insane over Lee! I spent an hour reading through your past postings and really want to be part of your gang if you'll have me? I have never done anything like this before and did feel a bit stupid but after seeing how much fun you seem to be having I thought I 'd give it a try! What I like most about Lee is the fact that he has worked in the industry for 7 years and has worked his way up the career ladder - shows how serious and dedicated he is! Also remember his Mum saying that he'd had a difficult time of it so am just generally pleased for him! Hubby supported him too and my 2 year old has a dancing Lee cut out and likes very much to watch the youtube clips - so much so that he asks hubby to watch them when I'm out!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys...About Jason Donovan - I reckon he has always been a little worried that he might have to give up the mantle of being one of the nation's favourite Josephs! I think that's why on final night he said he had always championed Keith and was almost "forced" to admit that Lee's performances were in fact "outstanding!"

I reckon, on Sunday at the commemorative concert for Diana, Princess of Wales, both Mr Donovan and Mr Osmond will be quite concerned about being outshone by (in my opinion) someone considerably younger who is of superior talent, in terms of the voice and stagecraft he possesses!

As for the "a bit too polished" remark - if that's the level of criticism - that can't be bad, eh?! Actually, what's always struck me about Lee's performances is that they are tempered and sophisticated - he knows just how much to give - when to hold back and when to give it loads...this makes him the intelligent performer he is...without a shred of the "Mr Slick" or "too corny" performances of say someone like Michael Ball? (oops...dare I say that? Just did.)

Exactly my thoughts Liz, couldn't have put it better.

Hi everyone.

Like some others i tried to log in to this page last night but it just came up as page not found. I tried every way i could think of to find you but to no avail so thought that was it and we had been closed down- i was most upset!

I thought i would just take a quick check tonight and here you all are thank goodness. It has been great catchig up on all your comments.

Thanks for the GMTV tip for tomorrow Elisa otherwise i would have missed that so have got hubby to set the tape. The only problem i keep having is we tape CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on Tuesday but before i get chance to watch it, something Lee orientated comes up & i have to tape over the CSI. Normally, that would be dreadful but for Lee i can make an exception.Good wallpaper pictures Carys- thanks.

I am off to watch Greys Anatomy too Louise shortlee. Dr McDreamy is lovelee- my friend decided i have a thing for men with curly hair (except hubby does not have much hair at all!) as i quite like Orlando Bloom too so she wondered if Ronald McDonald did anything for me! Some people eh! Nobody comes close to Lee though.

I must look into doing a CD of all Lee's songs- i am not very good at things like that but will see what we can do this weekend as i think polishing etc would be better with Lee helping. Glad you are all still here. Off to do ironing tomorow & try not to think about having my wisdom tooth out tomorrow!

Hi Loppies,

Excuse me butting in but I found Scott’s great ADWD reviews about three weeks ago (wish I’d spotted them earlier) and have really enjoyed reading your messages. As someone in her late 40s, it’s been great to find a group of like-minded, more mature fans of Lee.

Why Lee? I don’t know – there’s just something really, really special about him. To repeat what a lot of people have said, he’s the complete package: great voice and acting, stage presence, great looks ... and modest with it. A very talented guy who fully deserves what’s happening to him now (well most of it – I am not too sure about the photo sessions a la Now and Heat).

I love Lee’s voice and was blown away by his version of Paint It Black. I’ve liked the music since I first heard it as the theme for a TV series quite a few years ago but it was only on listening to Lee singing it that I noted that words. I really hope he will record Paint It Black.

As some of you have indicated, there have just not been enough hours in the day recently and work, housework, etc. have suffered somewhat as I try to juggle the things I ought to do against what I want to do – namely, listening to/watching Lee and googling. Hope the amount of time I’ve spent whilst at work on Lee related sites isn’t noticed!!

Tracy, I agree with so many of your comments (24 June) but have been a bit nervous about leaving a message. Seeing Tracy’s message and then Trace’s invitation to other shy Loppies, I decided to add my comments.

My partner thinks I’m mad but humours me (most of the time). Though when asked if he would go with me to see Joseph, I got a resounding NO!!! So I’m going on my own though not till October. However, I’m also hoping to go with a Dutch friend of mine, who has also become a Lee fan after I told her about ADWD, next time she’s over.

Someone mentioned writing to the BBC about a DVD release of ADWD. I’ve already done so and there’s no plans at present but they told me to write to 2Entertain which I’ve done. Maybe if others do the same ...... I have the address if needed. I really, really regret not taping ADWD.

Work calls so I’d better stop now. I shall be rushing home this evening to see Lee on GMTV (you’ll hear the howl if the video hasn’t recorded) and, of course, I am looking forward to Sunday!

Anyway thanks to you all – it’s so nice to know I am not alone in my madness!

Morning fellow Loppies - here's a little something new for you. If you go onto the BBC website and the Radio 1 entertainment podcast you will find our boy there. I've just downloaded and listened to it (thankfullee he's first up). The girlee interviewer asks some of those naff questions and talks about him being an understudy (when will they all let it go?). As ever, Lee handles himself well in his usual modest, unassuming way.

Will check in again later. Good luck with the tooth Tracy!

Went out with the girls last night and subject to a degree of teasing on the subject of, you guessed it, Lee Mead. Tried to explain how gorgeous he is, but they just don't get it. Even with the large quantity of wine consumed couldn't get them to understand - Kiefer Sutherland was mentioned. I'm sorry but there's just no comparison...

Just tried to find Lee on GMTV and I don't think he was on - suppose it's to do with the bomb in the Haymarket, the Adelphi's only round the corner. Glad no-one's been hurt, especiallee not Lee!

Hope the dentist trip's ok Tracy - it's horrible having a wisdom tooth out (I'm such a coward).

Welcome Diana, to our crazee (oops spelleeng up the creek again) leetle gang. We are obviously multiplying nicelee now. Good idea about writing to 2Entertain - what's the address? We can see how many we can get to write - Loppy power will prevail!!

Off to check the Radio 1 podcast - thanks for the tip Fiona.

Lee wasn't on GMTV, though it said on the schedule that he would be. I felt a bit trivial hoping he would be on when there had just been a bomb scare in London, especially as I have family there who have been through it before. Going to stop now and come back when I feel better about myself.

This is the address the BBC gave me to write to regarding a DVD release for ADWD:

Programming & Acquisitions Dept
2 entertain
33 Foley Street
London
W1W 7TL

The more people who contact them, the more chance of it happening so pLEEse put pen to paper.

Sorry to learn Lee wasn't on GMTV - was looking forward to watching that tonight. Will have to keep an eye out on the offchance he's on another morning instead. Oh well guess there's no excuse for not doing the washing now ...

Hey loppies, got all consumed with cleening and listening to lee many times on repeat last night, and after watching greys anatomy late on, i was far too tired to turn on laptop, but i was with you in spirit! welcome to our two new recruits too. Its such a nice feeling to know your not alone!

I agree with all your comments about jason, michael ball etc and How lee performs, I think Lee will show them up on sunday! and to think jason was my first crush, he's nothing compared to mr mead! I saw jason a quite a few years ago when he was scraping the barrel and came to our uni when he was touring uni's, it was a hilarious night and he ended with the comments' dont take drugs' it was all a bit naff. cannot ever imagine the lovellee lee ever having to do university tours!

well cleeening was a success with mr mead on in the background last night, just gives you a taster of what a proper cd will be like without the crowds etc in the background. it will definately do me for now... oh to have a cd player in my car, I really cant afford a new one at the moment!

Tracy- I too love greys anatomy, mcdreamy is ever so aptly named, .i have a thing for men with good hair too! when i was a teenageer i loved johnny depp in his long hair stage.
my other half has good hair though not the abundance of curls like lee. in fact my hair is more like lees( can be curly or straight).
Actually im a bit of a hair snob ( if there is such a thing) , i really hate bad hair, especially badly conditioned hair on anyone!

very sorry to hear about gmtv but more sorry to hear about london, hope everything and everyone is ok. was really looking ofrward to it, but i do have my cd and i need to finnish cleening( I have a big House) as i refuse to cleen over the wknd. and of course we have sunday to look forward to!

hoping to get dosed up on loppiness before the man returns home, so I will be back! though i have to go out into the real world and celebrate my friends success in getting her new job on saturday, then again it will get me through the lack of adwd and make sunday come quickly!

Diana I will write too!!! will try do it this afternoon on the sly!

Happy friday everyone!

Rushed home from work and excitedlee put on the DVD recorder onlee to find him not on there. A short period of depression followed then I read your comments and cheered up as I discovered he was on the radio - thanks Fiona. What would we do without each other?

Welcome Diana. Will definitlee write to that address. By the way, it's all very well watching Youtube for ADWD clips but how long will they stay on there? Like you Diana, I haven't taped any so they're all I've got to keep me gong.

Hope your'e feeling better Elisa. This is all rather trivial but great fun nonetheless.

Forgot to thank you ladies for your offer of support in my divorce proceedings - still definitlee on the cards at the moment. Lee was still 100ft down a well or mine shaft when I listened to the Radio1 thing. Poor guy!

Hi ladies. Diana, glad Trace and I inspired you to be brave and join us. Everyone is really welcoming on here and it definitely helps to know you are not on your own.

Thanks for the good wishes regarding my wisdom tooth. My mouth is rather sore but to be expected. It wasn't a nice experience but the dentist was lovely and when i saw the size of the tooth i realised what a good quick job he had done. At least it is over with now.

I too rushed back ready to watch GMTV and was disappointed but when i realised why he wasn't on, well it keeps it in perspective really. Roll on Sunday. Thanks for the tip on the Radio 1 slot Fiona off for a listen now. I will write to that address asap as well thanks- a good idea. Back later- it is great "talking" this way as it hurts to speak normally!

Sorry about before. I’m feeling better now. Guess I had a bad day. Hope your mouth flees better soon Tracy.
Thanks for the address Diana. I will definitelee write too when the postal strike is sorted. I still haven’t got round to copying my Sky+ recordings. I’ll have to get out the DVD recorder manual, as at the moment, I only seem to record pictures and no sound – sound famileear Debbie?
I've been listening to my new CD compilation (again) in the car. It’s great, finishing with “My amaaaaaazing cooooooloured cooooooooooooat” and all the cheering.
Actually, I was thinking Debbie, have you burnt a CD with Lee’s songs on? If so, you could play that separatelee while watching the videos. Just got to sort out the synchronisation and you’ve cracked it.

Hi there Loppies!

Our little crew is growing by the day - welcome to the new Loppies who have stumbled across us. I seem to be reaching this link without any problems again. I had to do the same as you, Jackie, and go via the Stage homepage - I was so worried I had lost this delightful meeting place which literally makes me laugh out loud every day.

I bought the single on CD from Tesco today (had already downloaded it from iTunes) - do you think he'll make it to no.1? Shame there is a black background on the cover as it hides his lovelee curlee hair!

I am off to see Donny Osmond in concert tomorrow and then all the Joseph's old and new (Jason, Donny and Lee) are performing together on Sunday which should be interesting. I discovered 'Joseph' through Donny's cast recording and then the film version. I never saw the Jason Donovan production in the West End, although it had a huge reputation and the teacher I work with reckons that is the definitive version and hasn't booked for Lee as yet. I am trying to talk him round and help him to see sense. It is time for the old Joseph's to move over and a Joseph for the younger generation to take over the role.

Have a great weekend - not long until the Diana concert now!! I think the production previews start next Friday?

I agree with comments re Lee's articles in Now and Heat - what about those technicolour slippers?!

You may have lost a tooth Tracy but at least you still have the wisdom to admire Lee. Had all four of mine out so you have my sypathee.

Unfortunatalee the only thing I am able to burn is the dinner, Elisa. This site is the most technological I get. When I said I was a novice I realee meant it!

Feel quite frustrated this evening. Just want Sunday to hurry up. It's been too long since his last performance and I mead to see more of him now! Very disappointed about this morning still but hey, at least everyone is safe like you all said. Musn't get hysterical about this. I think I'm losing control...

Have my letter written and ready to send Diana, as soon as the strike ends. I tried not to let it sound too sad and pathetic when what I reallee wanted to write was, "I'm begging you - make a compilation DVD of all Lee's performances as I can't carry on anymore".

My youngest wanted to search for something on Google and I was already logged on and ready to visit my favourite site. Before I could stop her she looked at my history lists, saw about a hundred things related to Him and shouted out "It's the Lee Mead Committee! MUUUM!" The rest of the family sniggered and smirked.

Put divorce proceedings on hold for now as he did try for 2 hours to fix the computer but doesn't know how. On the other hand it was him that cocked it up in the first place apparentlee when he put some new anti virus thing on so maybe I'm being too kind and should forge ahead, What do you all think?

Speak soon.

Finallee got a moment to say hi. Hubby home earlee today and decided to do some pc maintenance which took forever. Later on he found my 2 recorded bits on the pc (lottery and GMTV). He asked why I had GMTV and I said "Oh, I must have accidentallee clicked the record button" (all innocentlee!).

At least I have a good reason now for having Now magazine as this afternoon I baked Trinny chocolate chip brownies, and very delicious they are too (especiallee with raspberries and cream).

Lovelee to see new Loppies and to hear more dailee antics from the rest of the gang. Glad the tooth came out ok Tracy.

Better go - hopefullee be on here sometime over the weekend.

Thanks for your comments Debbie, Elisa & Fiona (and everyone else i have forgotten) about about my tooth. It is strange having people be so nice when you have never met but a good feeling.

I am impressed with the dentist. I keep taking pain killers but it is feeling better all the time and only a slight bit of bruising so very impressive work. I did shed a little tear when it was all over with relief but it wasn't as bad as i feared. I kept trying to think of New York New York but reality got too much! You are brave Debbie having all four out.

Glad you got some cleening done Louise, and i hope you enjoy Donny Osmond Trace- should be a good night. Not long till Sunday now and then the preview evening from 6/7/07.

I have been trying to find this Radio 1 podcast but to no avail. If anyone could spell out how to find it for me i would be very grateful. Off to bed now. Speak soon.

Had a fairlee Leeless couple of days due to other commitments, but was able to make up for it this morning and watched through the whole ADWD, just the Lee bits. (Which made up for watching GMTV in vain) Lots more opportunities to come over the weekend too, yippee. Some of the Youtube clips include the chats/VT that preceded the songs and some judges comments, and I enjoy them as well.
I hope the BBC continues to support the ADWD website, even if we don't get a DVD. There is a lady who not only uploaded clips from the series to Youtube but also gives a site address where they can be downloaded to your PC as wmv files, which is worth doing just in case they ever come off Youtube or the BBC. I wonder if I can make an audio onlee file and then a CD from them? I'll have to try.
Connie Fisher had a CD issued which included the songs she did on the Maria show. I have heard that Lee will also have a CD, hope so. Does anyone know if the songs on Connie's album are full length versions? The songs the contestants did on ADWD are very short, I'd like to hear Lee doing the full length versions.
I hope to record the Lee stuff from the Diana concert, and some other bits, we have Sky+ and my husband mentioned today that we should be able to copy from Sky+ to the VHS recorder that's still there, tucked away under the TV, he thought the wires were all connected, not that he knew how to do it - or why I was asking, for that matter.
Tracy I'm sure the tooth - or where it was - will feel better tomorrow, and Debbie I do sympathise re your computer, I upgraded a certain well known anti virus and had much the same problem. My local computer repair shop said that accounted for a lot of their business! I now use a different product.
Time for a few Lee moments before sLEEp.

Hi there fellow Loppies!!
It's lovely to be back... oh how I missed my laptop! Have just spent the last half hour catching up with all your posts having been away for work and I only had Heat magazine and my ipod to keep me going cold turkey!! Now, of course, I can't wait til sunday!! Far be it from me to wish my life away, but as far as I'm concerned he's not on telly nearly often enough... Picked up a copy of "Stage" which had an article about reality tv and the casting of musicals etc and a nice piccie of Lee and Sir Andrew, which I'm certain all of us have seen before (but it's still lovely seeing him in print all the same!). Other than that I'm relying on all of you to bring me up to date with any news and stuff because I truly feel as if I've been in a black hole devoid of any news over the past few days. When I read in your posts that Lee was going to be on gmtv (and I had missed it) I all but passed out...does this mean he might be on next week instead, per chance? You never know!
Had a good giggle about your comments regarding "Close every door", especially as Keiths voice really, really gets on my nerves and I desperately try to imagine the whole song sung as it should by our boy! Surely a cd will be released soon? How soon after winning did that Connie woman release hers?
Time to get some shut eye, but look forward to catching up with all the Lee news and your posts properly tomorrow, with a (hopefully) clearer head!

Tracy, have tried to remember how I got to the radio interview but can't find it now. It's on the Entertainment section somewhere. I had trouble finding it to begin with.

Glad the brownies tasted good as I was going to try them Fiona!

One last thing before bedtime - have you all read his interview in the Whats On Stage Mag? Just go to the website. You can 'turn' the pages of the mag and then zoom in. Most of the article is about Grease (boo!) but there's 2 pieces on Lee. Not much is new but found out he has a younger brother and a few little bits. God, I'm reallee scrabbling round now for info!

This blog is turning into War and Peace. Yes ok I'm going! GOODNIGHT!

I just tried to find the BBC podcast again, but all I can find is about Glastonbury. I only downloaded the Lee etc one yesterday. Perhaps they change them weekly? Anyone know if there is an archive? If it has gone and you reallee want to hear it, I can edit out the non Lee bits (I've just done this, to make sure I could) and make it available, I have some webspace I can upload it to so you can download it. I notice his favourite word to describe anything out of the ordinary is the same as my son's. Bizarre:)

Hi Loppies - gosh you were busy last night. Had to go to bed early last night as still recovering rom my lovelee night out with the girls the day before - too much red wine and not enough Lee!

Tracy, hope you're recovering well now from your tooth, you're very brave, wisdom teeth are so big to have taken out. Cheer yourself up with the Radio 1 interview. Go the front page of the bbc website and scroll down to where it says Radio and click on Radio download and podcast trial. Scroll down to the bottom and choose Radio 1's Entertainment News. Keep choosing podcast etc and eventually you should be able to download it. Only thing i'm not sure about is whether it's been updated with a later version, because I think they're weekly.

Really looking forward to the concert tomorrow night. Need to casuallee speak to my hubby about recording onto DVD aswell as Sky+. Hmm, maybe I'll find that chocolate brownie recipe...

Catch you later.

New article alert! I opened my copy of Weekend in the Daily Mail to read over breakfast,, casuallee turned to page 7 (having not read the front cover) and there he was. It’s quite a good article, focusing more on his career and familee. There’s onlee the one Joseph picture though – but I had to make zero effort to get it and, what’s more, I don’t have to hide it.

Thanks Debbie, I hadn’t looked at Whats On Stage Mag. The page turnover thing is quite good. Lee is on P24-25. You can download separate pages as a PDF file. Just click at the bottom of the screen. Here’s the link:
http://www.whatsonstage.com/wosmag/online%20issues/pagegangster_publish/July2007/index.html

Thanks a lot for that Elisa. Was wondering when he'd be in that. Thought he'd be on the front so I wouldn't have to keep checking inside. Must brave the rains now - good excuse to take the dog out although as soon as she sees rain she crosses her legs and retreats back in. I haven't explained the merits of Lee to her yet.

Morning all! I too have just opened up Weekend to find Lee's name in the index. Haven't read the article yet, thought I should share the info first, but have been beaten by Elisa! Great that we keep each other in the "Loop" so to speak!

Can't stop as may get rumbled. Will check back later on.

Afternoon. Glad to report the tooth or rather the gap is feeling a lot easier today thank you all.

Jackie thank you for the very clear instructions about the radio 1 podcast. Unfortunately it appears you are right and i have missed it as the podcast now is from 29/6/07 about Glastonbury-never mind. Debbie thanks for the Whats On tip, and Elisa thanks for the link and page number. It is always nice to read something new. I have just sent my hubby out with a small shopping list which now includes the Daily Mail so thanks for that too.

When i was searching for the Radio 1 podcast, i typed in Lee Mead on the home page and clicked search and found some earlier Radio Essex interviews with Lee which i hadn't heard before. You may already have heard these but it was a nice surprise and made up for not finding the podcast.

Hope the dog appreciated your efforts Debbie. It really is a miserable day today but one day closer to a new sighting of our man! Can't wait. Byee.

I put a message on earlier today which seems to have got lost in moderation, but here goes. The Radio 1 podcast can be listened to and possiblee downloaded from here. www.gilliangvideo.co.uk/radio1leeonlee.mp3

Seems I shall have to go out and buy the Daily Mail.

Aaaaarghhhhh! Eldest child knocked her glass of leemonade all over Weekend mag at lunchtime. It is now lying forlornlee on the radiator in attempt to dry out. Fortunatelee, I had read the article by this point. Hopefullee once the show starts and Lee shows (again) how good a performer he is, journos will stop harping on about unfair advantages in their interviews and focus on his obvious talent. Must say I did prefer the Mail's referring to his hair as "gypsy curls" to the Radio 1 podcast woman's "Kevin Keegan perm". Looks natural to me!

If any of you want me to email the Radio 1 podcast I'm sure I could oblige (fiona@jephson.net), just put Loppy as the subject so as to be inconspicuous!

Divorce on hold ( for the minute). It's fixed! Halleelujah! Cost us £15 - we needed a new driver or something - but he's worth every penny. Now meed to find time on my own to listen to everything in it's full gloree. Have also managed to get instructions on how to download and burn CD's - sounds easy so hope to enter a whole new dimension soon.

Went to town with hubby and eldest daughter this afternoon. Created a diversion and happilee waited in the queue to pay for my ADWD CD so all going swimminglee at the moment. Then wondered when I'd actuallee be able to listen to it (as haven't owned up to the purchase yet) so offered to collect youngest daughter from friends house and went a very long way round to listen to it. Sounds fab. I thought Lewis sounded good but Keith not as good as normal. Choir were great.

Re Weekend interview - He sounds just a lovelee as ever. Says just the right thing to every daft or annoying question inc how much he loves his mum and dad. Aah! Wish I'd seen him in his silky shirt. Bet it was hideous. The body underneath isn't though - oo er!

Roll on tomorrow.

Fellow Loppies - I am now safely back from my hols - so does that make me a Floppie (Foreign Lee etc.etc.). Fortunately I was able to get BBC1 whilst I was there, so managed to see Lee singing during the Lottery two weeks ago. So pleased all you fellow Loppies have been carrying the flag in my absence and thank you to Scott for allowing us full reign. Just picked up the Daily Mail from the mat and lo and behold there was a piccie and an article on Lee!!

I'll have to do a full catch up tomorrow!

Ok - it's catch up time! I have to say that I had to have my fix of Lee singing Paint it Black before I went to bed last night! I see we have some competition from the Lovelees - I have to say having read some of the comments I don't think they are the mature, sophisticated people that we Loppies are. Interestingly vis a vis the tee shirts my husband suggested whilst we were on holiday that we ought to have Loppy teeshirts - I wasn't too convinced about having Loppy emblazoned across my front, might give rise to wrong sort of comment, but it would be quite tasteful on the back!!

Was there any further news in my absence about the record deal Scott mentioned? This would help solve my husband's birthday present dilemma...........! Saw the CD went to No. 2 - why didn't it make No. 1!!! Seeing my friend later (the one who gave us the Loppy name) so collecting my copy! See that the ADWD website has given an update on the other contestants and what they are up to, which was nice to read. Will set the video for the Princess Diana concert as I am out this afternoon - ok my secret is now out I take part in AmDram and we have auditions for our next production later today, so just in case I don't get back in time the video will have to suffice!

Nice to be back with you all!

Carol (W - as I know see we have another Carol!).

Thanks for the link Gillian, just listened to the interview, as you say naff questions but lovelee answers.

Debbie, so glad the divorce is on hold and you are again able to listen to the Lee's wonderful voice. I am enjoying having my full range of media to enjoy him on, even if the jetlag is a pain.

Just noticed that the Diana Concert is in HD so will have the ultimate recording YYYIIIIPPPEEEEE. Hope there is lots of Lee.

Too late back to get yesterday's Mail, has anyone scanned it?

A thought about our wanting a Lee ADWD DVD, since the BBC still have the Joseph site up and running, why dont we all blog onto that site asking for it. They clearly are still monitoring the hits and responses or they would have taken it all away by now, and if Liz is still blogging with the Lovelees could you get them all to do the same thing.

It is so nice all the Loopies still joining us. Must be our mature serious nature that attracts them here - as if!

Currently watching the man himself doing JC as loud as the telly can go and I feel neither mature or serious, but smiling - oh yes.

Yes, thanks for the link Gillian. I developed a reallee bad migraine yesterday (alright now, well better than before), so I was onlee able to listen to the interview this morning. Kevin Keegan perm, as if. Can’t she recognise beautiful, natural, gorgeous curls!

Husband was off to golf today so I thought I was going to have a lovelee free morning with Lee, but no. My son, after solicitouslee enquiring about my head (aah) required my taxi service, where he found my Lee recording (cue hysterical laughter). I told him it was research for when I go to the show. I think he bought it.

Now I’m free again hubby is back. Oh well, roll on the concert.

Hi Loppies!
Everyone ready for the concert??
Sadly sky+ has been erased of all ADWD goodies, so my laptop and my earphones are my best friends when it comes to listening to youtube snippets of Lee...
Have recently had far too much time on my hands to ponder why this man has had such a huge effect on me, and certainly in someone at the wrong end of 30! I couldn't be more excited about the concert today - have already plonked myself infront of the telly, done my bits and pieces for today and sorted out all things mundane so I can enjoy uninterrupted viewing - although I know he's not on until 6.45ish, I'm hoping there might be some input or interviews or something before then! You never know...!
It still never fails to amaze me how composed and level headed he seems in interviews. Frankly, with all the attention he must be attracting wherever he goes, a lesser person could develop an incredibly inflated ego, but I doubt very much it will ever go to his head. He just doesn't seem the sort. But the man is definately blessed by having the entire package - looks, talent, charisma and a fantastic personality! I think he's going to be around for a very, very long time and can't wait to see what he does next!
Oh! Concert starting!!! I feel like a teenager! Enjoy, Loppies!!

hi loppies

wow you have been busy, just had a quick catch up and glad all is well and thank you everyone for the new links of info, off to swipe mother in laws copy of daily mail in a but me thinks.

well ive just sat down now and turned on the concert i have bit of a sore head after a lovley meal and much wine last night i dont think i think i talked about lee too much then again we watched the holiday film when we came home and must admit jude law is rather nice in the film, though not as nice as lee!!

If i do so say so myself i think i have given nigella a run for her money over the past few days. house is clean and organised to the hilt now, feel so cleansed! blueberry muffins are in the oven too, for when my american guests arrive and fella is back home, (actually looking forward to seeing him, despite my loppiness having to be only at work and the odd moment!)
Lee has accompied me throughout though, what a great cd!

am so excited about seeing lee later!!! going to tape the whole thing i think so i dont get caught out and then other half can watch bits of the concert too when he gets home.

enjoy ladies, maybe be back later if not see you tomorrow.

oh my word just have nearly been in tears our archos hard drive thing had just decided to stop working, but panic over as it appears to be working now! just had to share it with you all. not sure though whether the whole 6 hours will fit on it tho! hmmmm may just tape up till the andrew loyd webber then, just say i pressed stop by mistake!!!

so pleased and I can slob all afternoon, not even going to be bother making a proper tea either have brie and bread etc that will have to do!!! hope my mother in law doesnt phone and invite my to tea (she lives nearby, but then i suppose i can get her copy of weekend!)

right back to duran duran !

Hi Loppies,

The concert is up and running, no sign of Lee as yet! I'm taping it downstairs on VHS and upstairs on Media Center - we are in two different centuries in our house, technology-wise but I'm taking no chances!

Donny concert was fab yesterday - well worth waiting in the pouring rain for 8 hours to get near the front! Tracy - you would have loved it. He didn't sing 'Any Dream Will Do' yesterday - perhaps all the three 'Josephs' will do it together later? Can't wait! Like all of you, I'm desperate for something new to watch, done all the YouTube clips to death now.

Simon Le Bon's wearing well - I guess he's officially an Old Romantic these days! (aren't we all?!)

Catch up later!

One of those interviews, forget which, Lee says he concentrated on the studio audience rather than think about the 7 million or so watching. Now he's going to have an audience of 63000 in Wembley, and 1/2 billeeon worldwide in 140 countries.
I wonder if the ALW medley lasts just 3 numbers? Hope not, but I think he might like to have company on stage with that size audience. Talk about in at the deep end!

Hello all.

Nelly's on at the moment. Thought The Feeling were really good but Andrew's Fergie might have been better!

Got the chicken in the oven so hope it's ready before 6.45. Taping onto DVD but it only does about 2hrs at a time so with my luck with technology recently, it'll prob run out at the vital moment.

If you want details on the Weekend interview I'll blog some of them for you Shirley if you can't get hold of one. It was nice to read.

Welcome back to all the globetrotters amongst us. Enjoy the show! Speak later.

Just watched Nelly Furtado and the ballet. Really good. Will Young on next, I think. I’m getting really wound up now. I’ve run up the full Sunday meal but made everyone eat at 5.30. As for Nigella, LOusie, huh! I’ve even made bread! (and yes, of course it’s in the breadmaker). Ok, house not sparkling but there you go, can’t be a domestic goddess all the time – well any of the time.

As you said Trace, I’m desperate for some new footage. Bring it on! Anyway, don’t want to miss anything. Think I’d better leave right now.

oh my word i just had to come on here as im getting wound up too! i have accepted invite to tea, tho mother in law says it will be ready about 7.30-8 god i hope alw's bit is on soon, otherwise I dont know what i'll do if i miss it, as will have to waity till it stops to watch it! lets hope its running to schedule. thought feeling were very good, nellie too, and the ballet was brill, joss stone on now, looking forward to will young, takew that and all the other big names, but come on hurry up Mr mead!!

So far good concert - wasn't Nelly Furtado brill? Just seen the short interview with Donny Osmond (bless him - I remember begging my mum and dad for a Donny Osmond record for christmas when I was 5!) so we will have the three Joseph's doing their thing then!! Well guessed, Trace! Hope they give Lee a big enough segment! Joss Stone on now - she's a bit shouty, so time to put the kettle on - or better still get a glass of wine ready for the big moment!

I'm so jetlagged and afraid I was going to fall asleep I set the alarm for 6.30 only to discover that the sky+ was showing No Signal. Total panic - had to resort to rebooting the darned thing. Anyway at least that worked so now ready and waiting. I do hope we get more than 1/3rd song by Lee. Come on folks Loppies have needs, it is a long time since we had any new footage to enjoy. Orson just finished. Lee now please. Enough waiting.

Ok. Having a bit of an episode here. Where's Lee? I've got nothing against Orson or Tom Jones, but what about Lee??

Can't bear the waiting. Tom Jones now. Aaargh!!!!!!!!!!!

Enough already. We Want Lee. We want Lee, We want Lee

Do you reckon if we scream in unison loud enough they'll get that Bedingfield girl (who is, admittedly singing rather well) off the stage pronto? WE WANT LEE!!!!

I tell you one thing, John McInroe and Boris Becker show Tom Jones how to improve with age, but WE WANT LEE

Strangely enough Shirley I was thinking the same thing... Tom Jones was looking very grandfatherly...must be Loppie telepathy! But my patience is wearing a wee bit thin now. An hour late???? An hour of waiting like the good Loppies we are??? Enough!!!! WE WANT LEE!

Lee, Lee, Lee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Taped a load of the first segment before dinner, have just flicked through on Sky+ and then started it up again so I don't take up too much disc space.

Mr Le Bon not looking too shabby, but JT seems to be losing the looks a bit now. Rog was always my fav - yes, I was a Duranie way back when!

Loving all the comments as usual. Just think, all round the country there are Loppies waiting on tenterhooks for the appearance of our boy!

Bryan Ferry at the mo though, oh and Doctor Who in the lounge, might just have to go watch that. Can watch Mr Mead at my leisure tomorrow.

Oh here we go

At last!!!

yay!!! At last!!

Oh how brief, but he looked so happy. Did you hear that huge roar from the crowd when he came on?

Aaah! Even a talky bit.

He was amazing. Blew the other two out of the water completley and the audience adore him. He looked so star struck!

Fantastic - he more than held his own next to Donny and Jason. Couldn't pay complete attention as hubby started saying that he didn't see the point of there having been a competition as it was obvious Lee was going to win due to his experience. I was just starting to leep to our boy's defence by saying it was an open audition, when he tempered his comment with "don't get me wrong, I think he's great and was the best". There's hope for him yet (hubby that is)!

Well, I can watch it again on my own later. And once again he showed how down to earth and modest he is in his chat with Fearne.

Heart was pumping whilst I tried to look nonplussed. Hubby kept looking over with a big smirk. Bit disappointed Anastasia sung JSC as Lee was loads better. She didn't do the "or was that just PR?" bit right!

Watched it excitedly altho shame it wasn't much. Then sister rang as soon as finished and what with all the excitement, I had to rush to the loo with phone in hand. Perched down when she said "is'nt it that one you like being interviewed?". Of course- it was on pause, Shouted out to hubby in a sort of strangled
cry "PUT THE TAPE BACK ON!!!!" He 'joked' (ha ha) "NO" and I threatened divorce again - not that that would deter him. I think he's done it but of course we've got to watch the rest of the concert now so can't see it until another day. AAGH!

I don't think that little clip will keep me going another 4 weeks. Better than nothing I suppose. Loppies - keep your eyes and ears on red alert for GMTV Entertainment Today. He's got to be on soon surely?

Rodders rather good at the moment, by the way. Saw him last year at Earls Court. One hit after another. Lee will be doing that one day.

Well, wasn't he fantastic - did anyone else think Jason was a bit off key when he came in? Maybe it's just becasue Lee was so much better! And he looks so wonderfully awestruck on stage - makes him even more adorable.

Loved the whole ALW section, but agree about Anastacia, Debbie, I just wanted Lee to do it!

Can't wait to watch again tomorrow in peace.

I'm with you about Anastacia as well. I think Lee did a much better version of it. Just found the important bit and been replaying it. The crowd really do go mad when Lee comes on, far more than for Jason. Also at the end when they do 'Give me my coloured coat' Lee looks fantastic singing it but Jason looks as if he is badly constipated. See what you think when you watch it back, I had not noticed first time, but now I've seen it I keep laughing

Absolutely with you on the Jason comment, Jackie, Jason looked like he was struggling and also appeared incredibly nervous. I guess it's been a long time. But maybe this will spur him on to doing something musical again - with a bit of practice he'd get back into it very quickly. I've got a copy of "too many broken hearts" somewhere in my collection, and seeing him on stage brought back so many fond memories. Well done, Jase, even if you were just slightly off key!
I loved the ALW section, though again (sorry for being critical!) was Sarah Brightman trying just a bit too hard? She didn't sound her best. And unfortunately Anastacia just didn't do JCS any justice. I guess we've been spoilt ladies, and our standards are higher than the average persons...!
The highlight (also judging by audience reaction) was the Joseph section. Shame they didn't give Lee a bit more airtime - then I guess we all would say that. Roll on saturday the 14th! Can barely wait to see him at the Adelphi! Lee managed to confirm everything that I already knew - I could listen to his voice for hours on end. Which means get that cd out asap! And yep, in the interview with Fearne, he was our lovely, unassuming humble, awestruck lad, who didn't realise they we're cheering mostly for him. He's adorable!!! Got to love him!!!

I totally agree with you all about Anastasia. I just kept thinking about the way Lee sang it with so much feeling. Also JD was definitely off key. I think he was trying too hard to compete. Quite glad actually – it showed how good Lee is.

I’m actually feeling quite smug at the moment because I rushed upstairs and recorded ADWD on the computer (I have a TV card). What I didn’t realise before was that I can take a snapshot of the screen, so now every time Lee is on I can take a picture of him. Wish I’d noticed that feature before, but better late than never.

Hello Loppies!

How long can we survive on that wonderful but tinee clip??!! After all that waiting! I loved the whole ALW medley but wish Lee had sung it all! I thought Jason was struggling a bit but the crowd are fond of him so he must have been a good Joseph all those years ago. I have overdosed on Donny this weekend, certainly don't need any hormone replacement therapy!

Fiona - I was a Duranie, too and also into Rog! John T looked stoned, I thought - Rod Stewart looked younger than him! It's been a great gig, hasn't it?!

So, what next? Ah well, back to YouTube!!

It seems our passions have been reignited even more after tonight. If your'e anything like me your'e living and breathing the Wonderful One. Take That were really good too.

Off to watch Elton. Sweet Meads everyone!

I guess when ALW planned this he couldn't be sure just who was going to be Joseph, so he went for the bigger names as insurance, and once he'd invited them - well, what can you do?
Just hope I have it recorded, ours was set up for Coast as well, and when we switched to that later the Concert was not recording! Haven't had a chance to check yet, I need some time on my own, maybe later. Otherwise I'll just have to hope someone puts it on Youtube - surelee!!

Forgot to say, the concensus in my family, including musical indifferent hubby and musical fan son, was that Lee outsang the other Josephs, nervous or not! So it's not just we biased Loppies who think so.

Yes I enjoyed Take That too, but the Elton John set was something again. Now if he had Lee's looks, that charming modesty, the smile...... ah that smile, and I guess it would be kind of cruel to extol the virtue of Lees curls around Elton

Just checked and it was all recorded, phew! Watched it a couple of times more, such a pity he had less to sing, but I guess the others are the 'names'. (At the moment!!!) But he did get the best cheer. He sounded a teeny bit nervous at the start maybe, - just imagine walking out to see an audience that size, even if it was rehearsed to an empty stadium - but still better than the others, and he held the last note of his bit beautifullee. I thought he was singing the closing lines with much less obvious effort than the others as well. I was moaning at the cameras, or whoever in the control room decides what shot to go for, I didn't want to see the audience, or even the choir, just Lee.
Not sure whether Connie was holding Lee's hand to give him support, or get support:) Probablee just sharing the whole experience.

Have been checking in every day since this Blog began, my own thoughts about Lee mirrored exactly by the Loppies comments. The editing tonight was a bit off, too little of Lee and so agree that he was the best vocally, no wonder Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber hurriedly put himself next to Lee in the line up ! What a good start, he is now launched internationally.

I thought Andrea Bocelli was nervous at first and Sarah Brightman nervous all through her duet, strangely wobbly vocally. Josh Groban was on great form, the stage is a natural environment for him as it is for Lee. I have just bought his first two CDs after enjoying his duet with Lee, can't wait to buy Lee's albums.

I am dying to hear Lee sing Close Every Door all by himself...he sounds fantastic on the cd. I reckon they should have let him sing it tonight. Still he was brilliant, and that coat fits so well.
Can't wait to see him in October. GOT TICKETS FOR THE THIRD ROW IN THE STALLS.
Gosh thats 3 months away. Never mind it will be worth it :)

Memo to Scott – No need to thank us, but we’ve practically written a concert review for you. All we ask in return is that you write something really, really nice about Lee.

Hello Loppies!
Hope you don't mind me joining in. I've been reading you for the last few nights and hugging myself inwardly in delight knowing that I'm not alone in my obsession. As you can see from the time of this post I'm staying up a bit late for a 36 year old mother of two and as I write I can hear the baby banging into the cot side in his sleep and I still I can't get off the computer even if I do wake him up! Like you all I looooooooooooooooooove Lee! My hubby thinks I'm mental and even attributes the really bad cold I've got at the moment to the fact that I've been staying up late every night to go on the internet and google Lee and look for tickets on ebay and so my immune system is impaired or some such drivel. Have finally managed to get tickets to see the gorgeous one in August - 2nd row!!!! Had to make sure it was the same day as the rugby league cup final at Wembley so hubby can justify to his mates why he's going to see the show as he's a real "mon"(man) from Wigan. Tickets should be arriving by special delivery tomorrow!

Great to know about the Daily Mail magazine interview. I'll be straight on the phone to my mum tomorrow to keep it under pain of death as I know she gets it every week.

Thought Lee was absolutely gorgeous tonight on telly - it was cruel to give us so little of him but at least I can watch it again and again - Sky+ is the greatest thing ever - after Lee of course. I must admit I surprise myself about how great I think he is because I've never let myself get obsessed before - quite liked Mark King from Level 42 back in the day. Hubby thinks I've got far too much time on my hands and says it's time to go back to teaching (no!!!!)

Keep thinking that Lee should have some sort of official fan club by now - how does that happen?
Looking forward to reading you soon.

I'm on the night shift again - having just watched my video recording of Lee yet again! I agree with everything that has been said here tonight - Lee was definitely the star of the ALW segment! Shame we have to share him with the rest of the world now.

Check out Youtube and search 'Lee Mead concert for Diana', the clips are up, including the interview afterwards AND there's a BBC News 24 interview provided by the BBC so they are obviously aware of the interest there is out here in Lee. I'm at work, so can't listen yet, just sneaked a quick look.

morning loppies couldnt resist coming on before lunch, in office on my own anyhow and I feel crap, had the worse night sleep ever, so this is getting me through, sod workl!!

Just loved reading all your comments, nodding along as always, smiling like an idiot!

god i missed the alw section, i knew it, should nt have left the house! but came in from mother in laws, (i had to make my excuses and leave, she didnt mind one bit!) just as jason donovan was singing so i got see lee, agree with you all, thought he wiped the floor with the other josephs especially when they were all singing, you could pick his very much more professional voice out of them, jason bless him was straining a tad. lee looked lovelee, so smilee and happy to be there, he was truly loving it, and boy i think i was smiling back at him ten fold!

The concert i thought was fab such a happy event in amongst all what is going on at the mo. Is it me or can posh people not dance!? it amused me greatly during the show to see all the royal enclosure struggling to clap in time! anyhow bitching over.... i thought nellie was brill and what about Mr Young, such a shame he only did one song, I agree with you Lee he was brilliant, loved the choreography! take that also good and elton too. did make me smile to myself, there was jason, mark owen and mr mead all in the same concert, past and present crushes!!

i managed to read the clip in daily mail too at mother in laws, hmmm not sure about there angle on the interview, but well done again mr mead!!

when concert had finnished i thought i may have missed more of mr mead so i found the section and watched it all again but alas it was just a short teaser for us all, so ladies seeing the concert very soon, you have a huge responsiblity to fill us in on all the detail.

glad ive got you ladies to keep me company! October tis such a long way away!!

fella is back home, so think my work is going to suffer from all my googling during the day! Oh well nevermind!

Hi everyone, new Loppy signing in for the first time. Can't believe I've only just discovered you all! Agree with EVERYTHING said so far, especially the concert last night. My sister phoned straight after Lee interview and told me her brother-in-law was working at wembly as security, I begged her to text him to try to get a photo/autograph and she laughed and told me I'm obsessed, SO!!!
Have sent a good luck card to Lee c/o stage door at Adelphi, never done anything like this b4, so glad to know I'm not alone in my adoration, hubby and eldest son taking mickey a lot. Going on 12th July only 10 days, whatever will I do afterwards?

Morning Loppies, like you Louise I am wondering how the heck I am going to keep going until September. Please please please will either the BBC or ALW get the Lee performances from ADWD released pronto. We are good and patient Loppies but we really do need more than yesterday's wonderful but oh so short performance to keep us going until we can get to the theatre.

Back again!! Forgot to mention in all the excitement.

when reading the daily mail article, yesterday I had a very loppy moment thought would share to give you a laugh!! Lee said he would treat his parents to a holiday in yorkshire! there favourite place, as its my home county the west side of it anyhow I got all proud and excited thinking his parents have taste, and how many times has he been with them!? very sad I know.

Must do some work now

ALW says he has no plans to make a new cast recording with Lee, feel he is making a HUGE mistake, anyone know how to contact him and beg?

Ha ha, this is great, thought I was the only 30 something wife and mother mooning over Lee! Husband thinks it is hilarious, I too wrote him a good luck message and am going on my birthday to see the show (him) God that feels good to finally admit giddy behaviour. Anway, back to watch Lee again on tape from last night!

Thought Lee was great last night and outshone Donny and Jason - just wish his piece had been longer. I was so nervous for him beforehand.

There's a nice pic of Lee from the concert on the BBC news site: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6259822.stm

Haven't had time to catch up on all your messages but just seen Alison's - ALW has GOT to change his mind!! I was relying on a cast recording with Lee.

Wish I wasn't at the orffice with tons of work to do!!

ok when i said work i meant going on you tube! By the way I've just looked at my last post and my spelling and grammer is terrible, dont want you to think I'm an uneducated idiot, just my fingers cant cope with all the excitement!!

If you type 'lee mead diana concert' its all there ladies. plus an extra interview.

I love modern technology! right must do some thing productive till lunchtime, not that infomring loppies of new clips isnt productive!!
oh and i must write a very important letter today too since the post is back to normal!!

Hi again Loppies, I had just copied that bit from the RUG website:
Sorry to disappoint you but we have no immediate plans to record a new cast album for Joseph.
However, I am sure you will be delighted to learn that there are some exciting things ahead for Lee, and suggest you keep coming back to check the website. As soon as we have more information about this you can be sure we will make it available online.

I think it is a huge mistake as well. And dare we hope for a hint as to what the exciting things might be? After all they are exciting for us too.

Welcome to the new Loppies. How have you survived all these weeks without Loppy support?

Thanks for the link to the photos Diana, just off for a look

Shirley, no idea how I've managed these last few weeks! Thought I should know better at my age (36)! but glad to know I'm not alone in my admiration,desire,lust... better go for a cold shower I think? The housework has gone to 'pot and hubby is feeling a bit neglected, he thinks once I've seen the show next week I'll get it out of my system!!!!!!

Alison you lucky lady, seeing show next week!!! I dont think your admiration will be out of your system do you!! Probably will make it worse!!
do you know the most annoying thing, we are off work next week ( so prob wont be on here.. how will i cope!?) and are not going away anywhere just odd days out etc, they were tickets available too for a mid week performances when i was looking to book tickets back in the day just after the final and when I asked other half if we could go then, his words were, i dont want to have to go to london then just want to go with the flow etc! in theory we could be going! and you know what I bet we go see friends in london next week anyhow!! agggghhh!!! anyhow must look on the positive side at least i have tickets for october and will hold that thought warmly. Think im having a bad lee withdrawel day knowing that I cannot surf on an evening! must get a grip, at least I have you ladies who feel the same!!

Louise, nice to see my hubby is not the only anti-lee/joseph male out there! Only bought my tickets last friday, phoned See 0870 890 0149 and managed to get 3 returns in the stalls row k! Thought I'd left it far too late but moving house very soon and didn't think I could afford to go.Anyone wanting tickets its worth phoning as staff very helpful and you may get lucky! Will update you after performance no doubt I'll be unable to sleep so may well login in early hours!

So nice to know I'm not alone in my obsession. The man is perfect - such talent, looks and modesty all rolled into one - no wonder we've all gone crazy for him. I was so disappointed that we didn't see much of him at the Diana concert but what we did see was outstanding, as usual. Have to wait to September to see him, it's cruel deprivation! And no cast recording to look forward to - I'm gutted because I was counting on it. I so agree about Close Every Door - I want to hear him sing it all the way through. Is anyone else irritated by Keith's over-pronounced 'ASK' on his segment? It almost ruins the track for me.

Afternoon all and welcome new Loppies. Glad to see our influence is spreading!

Completely agree with comments about JD. In fact, Lee seemed to be most at ease up there yet he was the new boy! Also agree regarding Anastascia - her backing singers got it a bit wrong too singing "Jesus Christ Superstar, do you think, etc..." instead of "Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, who are you, etc.... And, for me, Sarah Brightman was outclassed by the wonderful (and also curly-haired) Josh Groban. Sarah's voice just didn't seem to have any great strength behind it and there was some definite swooping up to some of those high notes. My apologies to any SB fans, just my humble opinion. Vali - I'm also planning to get Josh's albums as his voice is very special. I've downloaded a couple of his songs - You Are Loved is just brilliant.

Shame they're not thinking of doing a cast recording as I'm sure there would be big demand for it (not just from the Loppy quarter) - I would love to add it to my collection. Let's just hope the exciting things includes a CD very soon to satisfy our desire!

Hi all. I've only posted here once before, the week before last but am still very Loppy. I was off work for 3 days last week and don't have a computer at home. I can't believe how much there was to catch up on. To be honest i've only had time to scan your comments-sorry. I only get a chance to look first thing in the morning and sometimes lunchtime and by the time i've read you all i've no time left to comment myself. Loving your comments. I feel like I know some of you now!

I had a day in London last week and circled the Adelphi several times in the hope of getting a glimpse of the lovely Lee but no luck.

I can't believe how genuinely nice he comes across. I heard him on the Radio 1 chart show last Sunday and they were ribbing him about how he must be sick of wearing the technicolour dreamcoat (and he must because it's not the most fashionable item) but he took it well. He was so sweet in the interview at the Diana concert. Shame he couldn't have done the whole song.

I'm taking my Mum to the show for her birthday on 21st July. I haven't told her yet as it's a surprise. Do you think I should let her know now so she can have 3 weeks to whip herself into a state of frenzied excitement?

Keep up the good work and I'll be reading you if not contributing very often if you don't mind.

wow ladies we've made history not only with carol's friends affectionate term (loppy) . but of our viewing of the concert apparently it had more viewers than live aid, was just on the news on radio 2.

well ive done some work, due to otherhalf emailing me lots of requests as he is working from home today due to his shatterdness after the exhibition. ( we have our own business, well its his tbh, but he asked me to join him, so I gladly left the world of corporate bollocks!) But its offically lunchtime, so I dont feel guilty about being on here.

alison- he isnt that much against lee and joseph as he is coming to see it and did want lee to win, but i think he would be against my obsession if he actually caught wind!! ive only got tickets in stalls row U in october , very far back, they were very friendly at see though, ive used them before!

I agree they need to do a cd, im off to write my letter to request the dvd too!!

Still on Cloud 9 after seeing Lee yesterday - if only it weren't so short. Discovered an interview on Youtube where Lee is so sweet - he's still so down to earth and normal, let's hope he never changes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqTed6WszRo

I'm so jealous of all you Loppies that are going to the show soon. My tickets are not for ages yet, so I don't know how I shall cope. Just have to keep pestering for a cast recording and ADWD DVD I suppose.

I agree with you Fiona and Vali about Josh Groban. Didn't he sing well. I think I might invest in an album or two of his. Sure to be worth a listen. Mind you his curls are not a patch on the gorgeous Lee's!

Jackie thanks for that interview. As you say so sweet and modest.

October isn't that long to wait. I'm already fretting that in 3 weeks time I'll have seen the show and then what will I do?

The interview got me so excited I can't even spell my own name! Just as well I don't contribute often.

Thanks for the interview Jackie. Just off to look at the photos. Was getting withdrawal symptoms today after so much excitement yesterday. This is just what I needed.

new update ladies on rehearsal blog on jospeh site. though unfortunately it was written before lee joined!! cant do links sorry!

Fiona- agree about josh groban, love them both singing you raise me up and that song tbh normally irratates me due to its oversungness by westlife and such like pop star wannabees. though thought he was very good yesterday compared to SB et al.

jackie- the interview is lovely saw it earlier and it cheered me up no end. it made me think poor lad when he does have chance to think about everything and catch up do you think it will be brain overload and he may go into shock!! then again he is ever the professional and is coping tremendously.

Sorry for all the posts, but it is making my monday go quicker and not be as blue!

sorry just had to add , bad day by daniel thingy has just come on radio 2 well mr mead knocks his socks off with his version!!! this is rubbish now!!!

right I must do some work now.... god i need help today!!

Just realised there are two of us called Alison so will shorten myself to Ali to avoid any confusion! Also watched the interview on youtube-twice! He just makes you go ahhh and want to give him a cuddle doesn't he? Getting my last fix before the school run then will try to behave like a rational human being for a few hours!

Hi Loppies - back to work this morning and have only just had time to catch up on comments from yesterday - haven't seen the video from yesterday yet but will do later!

I can't believe there are no plans to release a cast album of Jospeh - although I did wonder when the site shop was offering the old version..........they must rethink this surely!!! Come on girls let's try a bit of loppy power! By the way my friend (the one who named us) was asked by her daughter whether she was a Dollop - as in Daughter of Lee Obsessed etc. On that basis my mother is probably a Sloppy (Senior Lee etc. etc.).

Please all remember to write in and try and get a dvd of the ADWD issued!!!

Carol

Just cheered myself up booking my hotel for September. 76 sleeps to go. Could not bring myself to put only in front of the 76. Dont know if I can wait that long, might have to sneak up to see the show on my own before then.

We really do have to try and get the Beeb to release their Lee ADWD material as a DVD, and try and get ALW to reconsider a new cast album. I loved the Diana Concert preshow interview with Lee, but he is clearly getting a little shell shocked with all that is going on, so it is unfair to expect him to be able to get into a recording studio as well.

If this is true I'll go again and take my 5 year old son, who told me the other day "when I grow up I don't want to be a firefighter, I want to be Lee Mead" do you think all that time spent watching me,watching Lee, has rubbed off on him?

Oh I am sorry to keep blogging but I have a fit of the giggles. Just checked Lee's entry in Wikipedia and there we are. Poor guy will never be able to get away from us now!

Have just returned from work. Youngest child safely robotised by other computer ( who cares? got more important things to worry about) , oldest child at a friends and hubby still out at work. Settled down to read a few comments before adding my own pearls of wisdom. Didn't realise I'd Mead a couple of hours!! My God! It's like you've all been unleashed in a passionate frenzy into the world. You all sound hystericallee happy and tortured at the same time. The thing is I've been exactlee the same all day!!

Great excitement at work. Have found an ally. A Bulgarian (or Czech) girl I work with told me she loves him too. I casuallee mentioned the concert and Lee and she said he was lovelee. I went into hyperdrive. After that, nothing could stop us (until boring work got too busee and took over). Am going to go with her second time around. And there will be a second time believe me! (don't tell 'im indoors)

Not too sure about giving a warm welcome to these new breed of Loppies. Very suspicious of them - they all seem to have tickets very earlee on. Hmm. Maybe theyr'e infiltrating us from a rival site! Am very jealous.

Hope I don't qualify as a Sloppy at 43 Carol! Will make me even more depressed. Still have 4 weeks to go to the Theatre Event of the Decade.

Agree wholeheartedlee with all concert comments. Jason looked a bit constipated I thought. Lee looked completely thrilled to be there and kept looking around to savour the moment (bless). I'm sure Donny (looks brill for 50) gave him a little encouraging nudge which Lee responded to by smiling. He's so GORGEOUS!! Excuse me a minute whilst I compose myself after the usual drool and dribble after visualising Him.

Off to find those pics and videos etc you all so kindly told us of. If onlee He knew...!

I love 'Dollop' - my poor daughter is definitely one. I used to talk to her about sensible stuff like homework but now all I do is suggest we watch Lee on You Tube!

I agree with Shirley that Lee needs a bit of time to catch up with himself - but he seems pretty well grounded and he's been waiting for this success for so long, so he should be able to handle it. Bless him!

For some reason comments I post from my work computer don't seem to make to the page, but never mind, someone else found the Youtube videos including the BBC pre show interview, I actuallee watched them at work with no sound! As I had no sound I could concentrate on the action and Donny definitelee gave Lee a pat on the back. Nice guy. Seems quite happy to share the limelight. Not sure about Jason.
Now I'm home I can have a listen as well, I expect my husband will wonder why I'm sitting here with headphones on, typing:))
I refuse to be a sloppy - that should only apply to a mother of a Lee obsessed daughter, and I have no daughters, Lee obsessed or otherwise:))

Debbie I haven't posted on any other site, it just took me a while to discover you all! Glad I have though, really shouldn't be talking now as 2 of my 3 children are trying to kill each other and complaining of starvation (bad mother!)

signing off for today- ho hum a lee free evening!

shirley- just looked too on wikipedia, BRILLIANT!!!

Yes, Katie, I am annoyed by Keith's over-emphatic ASK in his segment on the Joseph CD, surprised it made the cut. It sounds peevish. He was trying too hard to make it his own, loud is not better.
Thanks all, I know I can get a quick update on all the Lee news by coming here. Love Lee's interviews and photos. Have watched the Josephs lots today, it gets better all the time, real time was over too quickly.

Totallee agree about Keith on CED, It reallee irritates me whenever I listen to the CD, aswell as his poor diction and nasal tone. Lewis blends in with Lee's vocals pretty well, but Keith just sounds awful in comparison.

Know what you mean about children Ali, mine do have a habit of interrupting my attempts to post. Although they are all word perfect on ADWD and CED, and to be honest most of the other tracks on Joseph, which is permanently in my car at present. I just alternate between the soundtrack and Lee - sad eh. Although I must getting round to burning a CD (as opposed to the children's dinner) of the mp3 tracks I managed to get onto my iPod. Loppiness certainly requires an expanding knowledge of technology!

Dear Loppies, Dollops and Floppies - Sloppies is for very senior people (my mother is 80) so you are all quite safe remaining as Lopppies for now!!!

Carol

Tickets arrived today - row B bang in the middle! I hope I don't make a holy show of myself and try to touch him or anything!

Even though tickets are now safe in bedside table can't shake the ebay obsession and keep checking prices etc. Noticed a rise in prices for auctions that finished after the ALW segment of the concert . Saw some tickets that went for well over £200 and its during the week that he's ON HOLIDAY!!!! Found myself shouting at the computer "Don't do it!!!!" Imagine the devastation when they find out.

Do you think I have a Loppy duty to monitor these sales and alert the bidders or should I presume that if they were real fans they should know that the gorgeous one is not aroung week beginning 10th September?

Evening all working Loppies, welcome home. No Janet, Lee's holiday was cancelled so he will be in the show that week. I go the week after, as I avoided that week but then they posted that he had cancelled his holiday.

Glad I'm not a Sloppy - at 47 I was feeling a tad concerned.
Are partners of Loppies Ploppies, or is that taking things too far?

Oh good. I feel a lot better now - I'm coming from the north west to see him and if he's not on for any reason......(won't even begin to torture myself with that one!)

Hello all!!!!
Have just come back from work and its been my first chance to catch up since yesterdays' excitement - my my haven't you been busy! Still haven't managed to read in detail all the posts but I think we're all in agreement about the fact that Lee was brilliant, it didn't last long enough and how on earth are we supposed to survive another who knows how long with just that little morsel and the oh so cute interview to sustain us? And no new cast recording of Joseph? Soooo not a good move! And I thought ALW was business savvy! I guess we start bombarding him with requests. Saying that, once the show actually starts and more people become convinced Lee really is fantastic and why oh why is there no new cast recording, ALW will be under alot of pressure and may just change his mind. We can but hope...
Work was awful, my mind elsewhere, mostly pondering the wonders of dark gypsy curls and mesmerising smiles, a beautiful voice you could listen to day and night and - oh well, I guess out of all the people in this world you lot can pretty much understand what I mean. I'm really enjoying being in the Lee-zone!

Hurrah! Everyone out for a while so 45mins of uninterrupted googling, giggling and goggling. Volume up full blast and I'm off!

Just some more thoughts - agree Katie that Keith's "Ask" was a pain in the ask. Love the rest of it, Lee reminds me of Michael Crawford doing Phantom (his is a brilliant autobiography by the way - or is it biography, always get them mixed up? He wrote it himself).

Sorry to sound so unwelcoming Ali - am just getting paranoid due to my earlier technical probs (page up about a hundred million comments away) and my inquisitive husband.

Just read in the paper about some sets on scene collapsing down onto two cast members and injuring them. I obviously sypathise but at the same time will voice what we will all secretelee be thinking - yes, He is safe. (One of them is back already and the other will be next week). Must be a complicated set up.

Off to find the videos on Youtube - hubby came home early and nearly caught me in the act! Pretended to be trying to work out Morpheus (not entirely untrue).

Wow! Just arrived home from work to find we have expanded again. It’s getting hard to keep up with everyone. Hope you are all well in Loppyland.
I absolutely and totally agree with everyone about everything written since I last looked in, especially Keith’s part in CED. I hate it. It spoils the whole track for me. As you say, Jackie, in a much nicer way than I do, Lewis is unoffending and can be ignored, but Keith’s "ASK" is too much to bear. After hundreds of repeats, I’m ready to strangle him.

I’ve also read the comment on RUG about no album being forthcoming but it’s early days and there is now an album with the new Sound of Music cast, so I’m very hopeful that when it’s seen how popular ‘little Lee Mead’ (oh Claudia, soon he’s going to be a lot bigger than you are) is, there might possibly be a change of heart, or at least a change of head, when RUG see the £ signs. Anyway, they’re all quite busy at the moment, I imagine, trying to get the show perfect for when we go.

Elisa, I do so know what you mean about Keith as I have listened to the CD constantly for about a fortnight now. I think it has annoyed me more and more as time has gone by and I find myself listening out for his horrible bits, rather than just melting into the luxuriousness of Lee's dreamy vocals. (Gosh, that was quite poetic for me - don't know what came over me - Lee, perhaps!) I'll happilee join you in a strangulation party...

Can't believe how many Loppies there are now. If we all badger ALW and the BBC and write to that address that Diana gave us miles up, we must be able to make some difference and get our cast recording and ADWD dvd - surelee!

Of course, we don't want Lee stressed out with too many commitments but he does seem to be handling it all very well, very humble and yet enjoying himself.

Got to go and watch some clips now.

The problem for me with Keith's voice (and to an extent Lewis') is that he sounds nasal and whiny. Even before I admitted to my loppiness, the one thing that always appealed about Lee's voice was how rounded it was, and the depth he has. Keith just sounds like he carries a tune and over emphasizes words but his voice hasn't got a particularly pleasant timbre. Oh I know I'm biased, but don't you guy's agree...?

Yes! Thought he was ok on the TV but horrible on the CD. (Keith with the Teeth that is of course).

Can't find a clip of him on the Diana concert or the interview after. Can anyone help? Thought Fern was a naff interviewer. All she asked was how they felt and how great the atmosphere and party was. Bring back Graham!

Best be off - everyone nearly home.

I've just lost an Ebay auction for 3 x row A tickets to Joseph on 4th August. I was committing financial suicide by bidding up to £400 for them but they've gone for more than that and I'm half gutted, half relieved. I already have tickets for September but I need a Lee fix sooner. Ah well, back to You Tube...

I can really understand what you mean, Katie, I forked out well over the odds for 2 tickets which, as far as I know, are way up there in the gods and knowing my luck probably with restricted view! Although I haven't that long to wait before I see the show, I'm already planning another visit, even if it's on my own, because it feels as if I must take advantage of seeing Lee in it whilst I can... is it wrong to be this desperate?
Debbie, your comment about Keith with the Teeth made me giggle - I used to think I didn't mind listening to him as long as I didn't watch him because I used to get so distracted by his teeth...! Now, of course, although he obviously can sing and got so far in ADWD, on the cd it's a direct comparison with Lee...and there really, truly is no comparison. Boys and men...! Maybe with a bit of maturity both Keith and Lewis will develop better tones to their voices. Who knows!

Yes,Miri, I agree with what you said about Keith’s voice. I’m not a singer, as anyone who knows me would concur, but in my opinion Keith has no depth of feeling in his voice (to be honest, I just don’t like listening to him at all), whereas Lee’s voice is like the very best chocolate, smooth, velvety and full of flavour, leaving you wanting more. Ooops, moved on to my second obsession then.

I didn’t realise that tickets were going for that much. I was just wondering what amount I would be prepared to sell mine for. Oh no, it’s started me shaking just thinking about not having them.

Re tickets on ebay.

There's someone selling great seats for 25th August on a Buy it now or Best offer. I'ts the same person I bought mine off - and mine are great -they're at £299 but I've been monitoring him and so far he's always accepted £200 for 2. He accepted £350 for 4 off me and at first my hubby looked like he was going to have apoplexy but now I think he realises we got off lightly!!! The seller is called "dizzyneedle".

Would be delighted if my ebay obsession was of some use to fellow loppies.

Morning Loppies,

Thanks Jackie for the link to the lovlee photos of the concert. The solo ones of Lee are gorgeous .... good thing no-one else was around when I saw them! Would love to buy a couple of them but I know from previous experience that many of the photo companies don't deal with the public but will try later.

I totally agree with the comments about Keith on the CD. I wince every time I hear his section - I liked his voice during ADWD but I've gone right off it now.

I've just got 2 tickets off eBay for next Monday (fingers crossed they arrive!). They're at the back but I couldn't wait until October (going by myself with better seat) and it was the only night my Dutch friend could come and she won't be over again this year. Haven't told my partner how much the tickets cost us.

My hubby dared to suggest that I put my tickets (12th July) up on ebay!!!!!!!!!! oh my god Lee is on the hits channel as I type please excuse the drool! Sorry, back with you all now! where was I? Oh yes, hubby incredulous that I wouldn't even entertain the idea of selling said tickets, think he's starting to suspect depth of my obsession!! I tested the water re: buying tickets for proposed extended run til june 2008 and he just shook his head, love the idea of him being known as a PLOPPY! I also read article about 2 cast members being injured on set and felt exactly the same "Thank god it wasn't Lee" is that terribly uncharitable of me? I think not on reflection. Looking forward to more comments later, keep up the good work loppies as I've had a smile on my face ever since I discovered you all

My word - it's been busy on here!

Fantastic news that the run has been extended - I shall keep dropping hints about wanting to go and see it for my birthday in January: a slightly more legitimate reason than "darling, I want you to pay lots of money for me to go and swoon over another man for 2 hours"!

I've looked on ebay a couple of times and seen some really silly prices, especially when you look at the face value of the tickets. I really would like to go, but I don't want to be paying through the nose when there's travel and accommodation costs on top.

Back to the lighter side of things, and not because I'm biased towards Lee, but Keith's voice just really didn't do anything for me and I agreed with the panel's comments that sometimes he just didn't have any connection with the audience, his eyes would be all glassy. It's like he was concentrating so much on showing you his voice that he didn't realise that there's so much more to theatrical performing. But to be fair he's only 19 and has plenty of time to hone his skills and gain experience. The same for Lewis.

Elisa - I'm totallee with you on the chocolate analogy!

If I can find it amongst all these many posts I shall note down the address and add my voice to the mob re cast recording and ADWD requests.

Better go and feed the troops before school/playgroup. See you all later I'm sure!

Totally agree with you all re Keith's Ask. Very very annoying.

In the early shows of ADWD I was trying to explain Lee to a friend who hadn't seen the show. I compared the effect he had on me to the effect the M&S food ad for the chocolate pudding with the melting chocolate in the middle used to have on me ie I would sigh and dribble a lot.

Should we not be Lollies as we all seem to be ladies? Any men out there? Is Lee on the way to becoming a gay icon?

Good morning Loppies, thanks for the morning smiles and agree with everyone about Keith. The more I hear it the more it annoys me. Had a lovely evening working my way through all Lee's perfomances on the ADWD site. Also had a snoop around and there is still a contact us button bottom left. Tried it and it still worked so left a message asking for the DVD of all of Lees performances. I pointed out to them that they know there is a demand from all the hits they are still getting on the site. Please pile in with your requests too, the more noise we make about it the more likelee we are to get it.

Some way back Loppies were asking what we most wanted to see Lee in next. I am having trouble thinking of anything I would not pay money to see him in, but would reallee, reallee love to see him as the first ever male leed in the Phantom sequel ALW is working on, then it will forever be the definitive perfomance and spoken of with awe.

Interested to hear about ebay prices for tickets - I have 3 to sell on 18 Sept. I am taking my SFather for his 80th and could only get back stalls from the box office, then discovered the hospitality department and managed to get great seats through them so have the 3 original ones to sell on. Might even make back some of the large lump of cash I stumped up for the good ones. Do try the hospitality people though, they have much better tickets than the box office, and though they are more expensive they are not up to the ebay prices.

Fiona, my birthday is in January too, and trying to get tickets for that. They are now available. Go to the ticket buying via the RUG site and they are now booking until 7 June. Go in via the Joseph site and you can still only get early January. Anyway the front stalls are now £75 each.

I agree that it would be lovelee to see Our Hero as the lead in the new Phantom (except that we wouldn't see much of his face then). However, I wonder if ALW has Josh Groban in mind - he's on record as wanting to do musical theatre and he has been schmoozing with ALW quite a bit recently. The sequel is going to be called Phantom of Broadway or something similar, so maybe they'll be looking for an American star.

Personalee I would love to see Lee on the barricade in Les Mis - he'd make such a gorgeous and dashing Enjolras, although it's not really a big enough role for our boy. But the uniform would look fab on him.

Not wishing to be cruel about Keith who does have talent (although not as much as he thinks), but having re-watched the ADWD final last night, I think his movements looks clumsy and inept alongside Lee. That's down to stage training, though - Lee commands the stage whereas Keith does not.

Better do some work now!

Been thinking. Is this some sort of rite of passage that nobody tells you about? You know, marriage - check, children -check, check, total obsession with younger, dreamy, up and coming musical theatre singer with luscious curls and eyes that are like deep pools that you could drown in - check.

Love it Janet - CHECK. Just got 6 A row tickets for the end of January. And only £45 each. HAPPY LOPPY.

Oh god, I must go and do some cleaning. Lee is taking holidays 14-26 January, 10-15 March and 5-10 May, I'm just guessing here but bet no Loppies will be buying tickets in those weeks.

Shirley, I should be doing cleening, but have just watched loads of clips from the ADWD website before I get started. In response to earlier query, I think Lee would be great playing Tony in West Side Story. I've just watched him singing Maria again with Lewis and Keith and his voice is just marvellous for it. He gets such purity of tone for the tender parts (I can reallee beleeve he's singing to me alone) and yet is still able to command the stage.

I'm going in January too, and am very relieved to hear that Lee will not be on holiday for my birthday treat! Would have been close to cutting my throat had he had time off then. Oh dear, the thought of it is making me feel ill...

Right, off to cleen now.

At work, having a Lee break. Is it just me – has everyone else seen the new cast listing at josephthemusical, because I don’t remember seeing a listing of all the parts and understudies there before. Also, clicking on Lee there is a great monochrome picture which can be downloaded and enlarged quite well without pixilating. Mmmm lovelee.

Hi all great tickets available on see tickets- £45 for excellent stall seats, taking youngest son. On subject of other roles, I'd love to see Lee in Miss Saigon, ooh those pecs in a vest, only prob is he might have to cut those gorgeous curls! But lets be honest, we'd all pay to see him anything wouldn't we?

Morning Loppies and sorry as the original Loppy I don't fit your profile - as I have no children (just lots of bears)! Actually I still think Lee would be lovelee as Marius in Les Mis (as I think I might have said way back when we started the Loppy thing), or as we all agree - in absolutely anything! I am psyching myself up (subtle hints this morning) to explain to hubby that we will be going again now that the run has been extended and hopefully tickets for next year should be easier to come by. As I almost amputated his finger on holiday I am treading carefully at the moment. Have to say I really liked the video to go with the Children in Need Any Dream Will Do and agree TOTALEE with the comments regarding Keith - I think he was just trying too hard and pushed his voice too much. But, he's young and he'll learn. Also finally got to see the Lee snipped from the concert and thought he wiped the floor with the other two and why didn't he get another number to sing - this wasn't enough to sustain any decent Loppy for more than an evening!!!

Carol

sorry, but just got to share this with someone (anyone!) my Joseph tickets have just arrived. Had sweaty palms and racing heart as I opened the envelope, how ridiculous is that? Now it finally seems real!
Carol agree totally about the Diana concert, much as I loved Donny and Jason (once) I'm afaraid Lee has totally outshone them both and should most definitely have been given his own number to sing. Do you think this is a ploy to keep us all wanting more?

Afternoon lollies, but think we always will be loppies!

Just having my lee break. have been very good today and got on with work this morning, but should have a fairlee quiet afternoon to join in with you all! I had loppiness bad yesterday I agree with you Elisa my mind was elsewhere- but think it was all of the excitement after the diana concert and then the crash to earth with the realisation that I will only get to see him in october.

Today i am more positive and realise that the show opens this Friday and surely they will be reviews and the like to get me through and of course my fellow bloggers!! ohh Im all excited and nervous for the cast! am I sad??

You were very busy ladies yestderday! I agree with all your comments about shows for lee to be in and keith too, i think i mentioned in my first ever post how i felt keith even tho has a good voice he wasnt a rounded performer and didnt really do anything for me, his posture, lack of ability to dance, and also his eyes glazing over too were not good sure he will mature though, tho will never be in the same league as the mesmorizing mead!!!

so pleased that lee's contract has been extended, gutted about my poo seats in october and know full well cant afford anymore expensive ones than have with the hotel etc on top at the mo and the expensivve seats we have booked for the cirque de soleil the wkdn after. really hope they are not so bad, row U in stalls anyone else as far back as me! please let me know your experience of theatre when go!
I am so thinking of maybe going next year or something, my birthday is in april but i think my other half wouldnt come again to see joseph. To get him to come in first place ive said its a belated anniversary treat for us both, since our anniversary is the month before and he is working away!
2 of my female friends would gladly come with me im sure as i too think they like lee but not in a loppy way, could even prob do it as a sat matinee thing, get train in morning see show and then train back at night! tho would be a long day!! i also have a friend just moved to london so im sure one wknd when my other half is working away I could go with the ruse that they wanted to see it not me and i thought it would be rude not to , something to think about!!

Love the loppy check list janet made me laugh! other half-(not married but very happy that way!) check! kids- hopefully soon- check, but obession over very slightly younger man a huge CHECK!!!!

Right must get on, but be back with you all later!! never did get o write that letter yesterday but i promise i will do my loppy duty and even go on the bbc website too.

ali- yeah! for your tickets arriving, I remember the exact feelings, dont worry your not alone!!!

being very bad today, got up at 6am to get some work out of the way b4 kids woke up but wouldn't let eldest son on laptop after because I was watching my Youtube favourites and catching upwith all last nights Loppy talk. Promised myself that I wouldn't spend all day on lap top (like yesterday) but failed miserably! Making the most of last bit of free time b4 boys home from school as I'm out tonight, but will catch up tomorrow -if I can wait that long? Did u know Lee has a younger brother called Casey who is a footballer? read that snippet somewhere, wonder if he is as gorgeous as big bro? Sent email to alw requesting cast recording, feel it was my Loppy duty!

Another day at work over with - praise the Lord (not ALW you understand). Kids not normally allowed to watch TV on Tues/Thurs - I'm not cruel but they spend practically every other hour on it!- but today is an exception as I need some Loppy time. All sense of morals and decency have gone out the window.

Have been pondering over whether to call husband a Ploppy whilst at work (luckilee I don't have a highlee intellectual job like being a neurosurgeon or something). Thought he might think I was demented - how absurd. Ploppy it is then.

Am dead jealous of all you loppies with good seats. I'm up in the gods at row C. Must plan next trip with Czech work colleegue pronto.

Was serving an elderly customer and her husband at work when she mentioned the theatre and the man himself and how much she liked him. I nearly leept on her with joy! That was it, I was off! There was no stopping me. Her husband is a fan too, not in quite the same way I presume. We do get quality guests in our establishment!

Got to go to new secondary school meeting tonight - oh bore. Think my eyes may well glaze over a la Keith whilst I switch off and dream - any dream will do (as long as He's in it).

Debbie do not worry think your seats in row c gods will be ok, if you check theatre monkey- aldephi theatre it tells you about seat plans etc. my seats dont get the best review, so am jealous of good seat holders too. i think tho that you are allowed a second visit to the show tho.

enjoy your dreams at the meeting, if you go to the live journal site ( i do only look on there I promise here is my blogging spiritual home!!) of lee mead there some pics on there which will enable happy dreaming!!

That comment earlier was from me Lou, Sorry in my loppiness i copied debbie's name, god you would think i was blonde, I have enough blonde moments!!

Just battled my back from work through thunder, lightning, hail, torrential rain and despite the fact that I am right under the storm have fired the computers up. I made a CD of Lee on ADWD and am listening to that while I type - if I watch videos I can't type, WOW! right under the storm - sorry!

I have a whole Loppy night tonight, going to make the most of it. Out tomorrow, then I have all day Thursday, but horrors, I am going on holiday Friday, no access to the internet at all for a week. I shall miss all the preview publicity and comments, never mind the usual youtube/BBC indulgences.

My husband might get a bid fed up if I play the CD the whole time we are away. I've always maintained all I want from a mobile is to make phone calls, and negotiated a nice cheap deal on my old one, but my son has one that not only plays MP3s, but also videos. I wonder if he'll let me put some of my videos on his memory card ??(he is going with us)

Debbie I read LiveJournal as well, but like you this one is my home. If you all move away while I am on holiday, please leave a message saying where you have gone.

Can't decide whether to get some more tickets for next year. I am not going until 27 November as it is. I wonder if my son would like to go? I know my husband won't go twice. Anyone here in the Surrey/Hampshire area?

Does that mean I should have said 'Louise I visit Livejournal as well....etc' ?

No offence taken (from a blonde).

BLAST, DAMN and every other conceivable swearword! Just about to book more tickets in Feb - got to Row D centre, then panicked as hadn't rung friend to check if it was ok (only £49.50). Thought I'd better call her. Ok. Checked again and they'd gone. Now down to Row G on the end. Then to cap it all hubby returns with shopping. Foiled again. Will have to try again later or tomorrow. seeticket is v good tho. Thanx Ali.

Dear Loppies,
Over the past weeks/months I seem to have spent alot of time at at work either a)staring into the distance with a silly smile on my face or b) pretending to research stuff with an earnest, hardworking look on my face whilst trying to suppress my delight at finding new Lee links/fab photos/ reading your posts. Alas, I have been found out!!!!!!
I actually crashed one of the pc's at work big time by trying to erase the history and get rid of the drop boxes detailing searches as we were having an inspection. Had to call the helpline (not being the wonder child of technology) and in an absolute panic (as I guess at work I'm supposed to be doing my thing and our bosses are a bit funny about internet surfing during workhours) - I had a sneaky suspiscion that they wouldn't be enamoured with me looking up stuff about a certain talented, oh so handsome man, and certainly not at my age (37 and not counting!)! Somehow, and I don't know how, I managed to change all the settings and defaults and got myself into a right mess. Ended up (still don't know how!!!) with one of my bosses (older guy, a bit serious) coming to check the pc, logging into history and then proclaiming in a loud voice "LEE MEAD???" Fellow Loppies, I refuse to hang my head in shame and admit to spending my working hours alot of the time drooling and dreaming. Fortunately all I got was a funny look from him (the boss) and a few thumbs up from my pals who know the score...! I think I will be leaving the majority of my Leesearch to after office hours though...!
By the way, Loppies, although it goes without saying, I find that Loppies seem to be a breed unto themselves and fantastic people in general, and I'm so pleased we have a safe haven here...! Oh, I'm recently single with no kids but do I still qualify?? Hope so!
See you later!

Miri - you more than qualify; you have braved the possible wrath of your boss, wreaked computer-havoc at work... I'd say you have every right to be Loppy like the rest of us. Plus you, like everyone else, contribute such funny comments.

I really enjoy mixing with you lot on here. It's quite something to have such a rapport with people you've never met, but hey we do have a certain obsession in common. ;) Can you imagine the noise levels if we were ever to all be together in one room discussing the lovelee Lee? The way this blog is growing, we could probably fill the Adelphi by ourselves!!

Lucky you - single, no kids. Lee surfing all to yourself, no hidden agendas. no child abandonment, no lying to Ploppy. Ok, you nearly got the sack but just think, you'd have even MORE time to surf. What a dream (any dream wi.....ok ok).

I'm obviously being very unobservant, but can someone steer me to where I find the email contact address to ask for a new cast recording? Or do you have to write snail mail?
I am trying to contact BBC as well, but the message keeps timing out.

Mimi - I think the only quality you need to become a loppy is to be absolutlee star struck over a young man with a bewitching smile, fantastic stage presence, wonderful voice and what else was it - oh yes gorgeous with it!! By the way Louise as the original Loppy I want to state that I AM A BLONDE! My Ploppy wasn't too happy on the evening we got back from our hols and I instantly went on line for my "fix" of Paint It Black, but I think he has recovered now! I had a hairy moment at work the other day as I had forgotten to turn down the volume on my PC and suddenly the office was treated to the lovelee Lee singing I Don't Want to Talk About It at full volume! I think I need to get headphones!!
Off to a rehearsal this evening so have a fun loppy evening and I'll be watching Mr Mead before I go to bed tonight (as usual!).

Oh Miri, I feel for you. It’s very hard not to Google Lee during the day. Evenings are not enough. Also, I have to check what everyone is saying on here even if I’m too busy to post. I find I’ve got to talk about Lee to someone, so I’ve tried, really tried, in a casual kind of way, to talk to the guys at work (computer engineers, the lot of them) but the most I get is “Who? Oh, the one from that show on TV, didn’t watch it.” Enough said. I need you all

Sorry to post twice but the good news is there’s a new rehearsal blog by John Alastair, the bad news being that it says it was written before Lee joined. Just off to read it now.

Once again you lot have confirmed what I already knew - you're all fab and aren't we fortunate to have eachother to ramble on about Lee to, when the rest of the world is either oblivious to his charms or chose to watch Grease is the Word (bad, bad taste, some people!)!
Since my days of Lee at work are over (short term anyway) I'll have to find new ways to indulge at work...fortunately I'm changing jobs soon and relocating at the same time and that means lots and lots of internet time before being caught out by whoever my new boss is. See, I've got it all planned and sussed, and will do you proud by flying the flag high!
Right, off to catch up with the rehearsal blog you mentioned, Elisa! Hope John Alastair gets to the Lee bits soon!

Evening fellow Loppies. So right Elisa, I keep dropping comments to friends, but they seem to sink like stones, so I keep my mouth shut. Despite that I am getting enthusiastic take up on my birthday at Joseph invites. That made me think they might be closet Loppies (Cloppies). Anyway given the speed the last 1/4 milleeon tickets sold I was taking no chances, figured I could always sell any overs on ebay.

http://lee-mead.co.uk/index.htm I am sure most of you have found this site anyway, but just in case it is new for any of you this is an excelleent site. Quicklee updated. Great photos, videos, news and so on.

Glad no one got sacked today. I am so priveleeged to be able to Lee surf during the day. I operate a system of bribery and rewards. I do chores and necessary work for however many hours and then have time on the web. Oh yes, and have an earlee go with my coffee. Hence house and garden looking better than usual because I work so hard to get back to the machine more quickly.

I think we can assume that the handsome young man with the lovely dark curly hair in the suit standing behind Lee's Mum (who he strongly resembles) in the photo in Heat Magazine (no, never buy it usually myself either, but surprisingly good in places) is Lee's brother Casey. One must respect their privacy of course, but it was kind of the family to let us see photos of Lee's Grandmother (intro week 7?), the one who took him to see Joseph, who was a real beauty. I would guess she was his Dad's mother (his Dad has a very kind open face with big eyes) and of course we have Lee's Mum to thank for the stunning dark colouring of his hair and eyelashes. Isn't it a lovely, lovely photo of Kerry too? Wouldn't it be wonderful to see those two do a Jazz Adagio?

My friend and I had an amazing experience this afternoon. I had half day off work as we had an appointment near Tottenham Court Road. Afterwards we walked to the Adelphi to take some pics of the Joseph signs (yes, I know that was sad, especially at my age). We then walked round the back to find the stage door so we know where to go next week (don't think I've ever waited at the stage door after a performance before). As we got close to the door we heard some singing coming from above, stopped to listen and realised what it was ....... THE JOSEPH CAST REHEARSING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We heard the very end of Close Every Door - it sounded brilliant!!

Unfortunately, that must have been the end of the rehearsal as we didn't hear any more. We sat outside a nearby pub for a while in the hope of seeing Lee. A number of people did come out but no Lee. Mind you, I'm not quite sure what I'd have done if I had seen him so maybe it was a good thing. Hopefully, I would have approached him and politely asked for his autograph. More likely, I would have stood in front of him with my mouth opening and closing but nothing coming out, looking a complete idiot.

I still can't believe we heard Lee singing just a few feet away from me! If only we'd arrived a few minutes earlier.

Diana, you lucky, lucky woman. I have every intention of going to stage door next week, been advised to try before the show rather than after. Tried confessing my loppiness to my sister tonight but despite watching ADWD and voting for Lee she clearly doesn't understand and now thinks I'm slightly unhinged! Glad I have you all to talk to otherwise I think I'd explode! Hubby now v.suspicious and suggested I'd pay more attention to him if he dressed in a multi-coloured coat and donned a curly wig! Fortunately i'm able to indulge in surfing during the day while he's at work, except I get withdrawel symptoms during the evening!

Wow Diana, how lucky are you to hear him for real..

For some reason I find it very funny to think of your husband in a curly wig Ali - given that I have never even seen him can't think why but thete you go.

Diana, you are so lucky - fancy being that close to Lee (and not seeing him - torture!)

I love this blog because I can talk to youall and not feel slightly insane when admiring such a lovelee person. My friends that know think that I have lost the plot over a younger man, apart from the fact that I have a lovely husband and three children. But why don't they see his talent and gorgeousness? (Is that a word?)
Oh well, losing my ability to articulate now!

Gillian, used to live in north Hampshire, but no longer there now so that's not much use I suppose. Seriously considering going again though, maybe with my sister. Our tickets are not till Jan, so could see him twice in 2008 (sounds good). Got to go hubby alert!

Fantastic, Diana. I’m not sure my husband will be willing to spend his time in London lurking with me at stage doors, so I’m very jealous of anyone who can. Lucky you. Close Every Door too and solo – what could be better!

Finally went for it and ordered some more tickets for the end of May, row D stalls. I decided if I tell my husband next year I'm going again, no problem, but to tell him now - just after I've bought the other tickets, and before I've even seen the show, he'll think I'm loopy, never mind loppy:)) So I'm having the tickets delivered to my son's address. Honestly, the things we do...

Any of you from East Anglia (Lee country!) I'm not an essex girl, live further up on Norfolk/suffolk border. Wonder if there are any more loppies nearby?

Diana

I'm just not speaking to you!! I work in London but unfortunately not near the Adelphi.....but maybe I'll have to wander that way one day!

Back from the school trip -yawn. Managed not to mention Lee to anyone for once, not even the new headmistress.

Diana, do you realise you are top of the Lee heirachy tree now? We all have a sudden respect for you now you're the onlee one to hear him for real. That's got to be the male equivalent of winning the World Cup.

Gillian, I live in Surrey if that's any help (nearer Sussex than Hampshire though). Beginning to think we should hold a Loppy conference. Seeing as I work in a hotel, I could hire one of our function rooms for the night. I'd have to come in disguise you understand - instant dismissal is not an option. Could come in a black curly wig and very distinctive coat - in fact we all could, let's make it fancy dress!!

Can anyone help me with that Diana concert clip? Is it on Youtube? Think I missed about 2secs of the interview after too - that's a lot of info from Mr Meads lips to miss out on (even if he never said anything). Have the singing bit on DVD but had to tape the whole thing to avoid detection and it's a pain to fwd all the time.

By the way, I read somewhere that his brother Casey works for Customs & Excise.

My poor Ploppy has gone through a range of emotions since my obsession started beginning with shock (I used to hate the computer, now it's my best friend), then slight jealousy methinks, moving on to bored indifference now. He doesn't even look at what I'm doing so no need to minimise anymore. Of course that could be a ploy as I think he knows the website so probably reads it every night. If so here is a message to him - "I didn't mean any of it. And what do you mean I can't go and see the show twice? Your'e seeing Prince for the second time and have seen Level 42 a zillion times? Sod off!!"

Night night my loppy pals. I'm turning into a Sloppy (sleepy) or have we had that one? x

sorry to post again so soon, wanted to ask Diana where she would recommend going for a drink pre-show. I think it will be the only way to get my mum and sister near stage door as they both think they are too mature to engage in such nonsense! I,however, have no such hangups and will happily wait for the merest glimpse of THE MAN HIMSELF!

Diana, you lucky Loppy you! Sometimes it pays to lurk! And to think, when I did work (can just about remember it, but quite happy not to) I wasn't too far from the Strand (Fleet Street, in fact).

Just to go back to the comments re Lee's parents and Yorkshire: I'm married to a Yorkshireman, so we obviously share the same good taste! Seriously though, the comment he made just goes to reinforce his humble, modest personality. He comes from an ordinary, hard-working background which has obviously rubbed off on him, judging by the efforts he put into ADWD. It's pretty certain that his family will keep him firmly on the ground (not that he should need that).

Watched the Diana performance whilst ironing this morning (watched Swan Lake first - beautiful). It was lovely to see him really taking in the moment and enjoying every second. He looked and sounded so relaxed, you'd think he'd been doing this forever. The stage is where he's definitelee meant to be.

And with that, goodnight!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all know i am still here.

We had a busy weekend as sons birthday tomorrow. Rushed back Sunday for the concert and friend rang just as he was about to come on! She had to put up with me oohing and aahing and kept laughing at me. I then had to wait for the concert to end to rewind and watch Lee again so although i read all your comments i could not add my own. I then re-watched it 4 times and totally agree with all your comments.

Yesterday was work and by the time i had read all the new comments, i was off to play badminton so could not add anything and today it has taken me ages to read everything again but i am still reading everything and still smiling and laughing with the comments from old and new Loppies alike.

I too am debating buying more tickets for next year. I am going on 28/7/07 but only in row B off the gods although i will check that website that someone mentioned to see if they are any good-thank you. I can't wait for peoples reviews as Sundays glimpse has already worn off. Diana, i bet your heart was beating very fast when you could hear the singing. You did very well not to break the door down! If anyone does go to the stage door, can they let us know how they get on as i have never done anything like that before but would love to try.

Mouth still a bit sore and i tried to eat a malteser yesterday (serves me right i know!) but could not open my mouth wide enough and got it stuck!

Thanks again to everyone for the comments and laughs- goodnight.

Diana - you lucky, lucky woman!!! I know what I'll be doing on the afternoon of the 14th before the show now...!! Sweet dreams, everyone!

Just about to go to the land of nod when thought I'd try one more time for my second lot of tickets and have just got - wait for it - Stalls Row D 22/23!!!! Yee hah! I'll get to see everything, the loin cloth in close up (steady), his hair, even his tonsils. Onlee £49.50. seeticket definitelee worth a visit.

We must all be replicas of each other (or are we just subconsciouslee becoming like that) - I play badminton Tracy. Don't tell me - you ALL do!

Am off to bed on a compleete high. Dreaming of Mr Mead from Row D no less. Don't worry everyone about the stage door visit. There'll prob be trillions of screeching Loppies, Lovelees, Meadsters etc etc and no one will notice you. I've never done it before either but am going with a friend who has and she'll guide me in the right direction. Must remember to visit ELC for a pair of childs binoculars for my Upper Circle visit (and Stalls visit for that matter).

Nightie night - again.

Very true Debbie, we do seem to have more than the lovelee mr mead in common, eg I too am off to parents' evening at eldest son's new high school this week. Already seen Headmaster and unfortunately bears no resemblance to Lee so will have to make up for it and spend some loppy time on laptop when I return! Really must go to bed now, sLEEp well all!

I've just visited the website Shirley mentioned earlier and come across the phote of Lee's bare torso and the top of his loincloth - oh my god he's perfect!!!! I think it was even better that it didn't show his face so I couldn't be distracted by the gorgeous smile etc.. I've got to go to bed now, but I don't know how I'll be able to sleep.

Morning Loppies - Off to Henlee today, so will have to catch up with you all later. However, just be aware if you are booking tickets for next year, the website is saying:-

PLEASE NOTE: LEE MEAD WILL BE ON HOLIDAY WEEK COMMENCING 14 & 21 JANUARY, 10 MARCH & 5 MAY 2008

So make sure you don't book then! Hoping to go around Easter next year, but mustering my forces (i.e. sweeting talking to Ploppy) and seeing whether Big Sis and Mother want to come too (they are coming with me in August, so hopeful they'll be a yes.

Hi everyone,

Half a day off and the work piles up even higher so only time for a quick message.

The pub is right next to the back of the theatre and the stage door. Can't remember what it was called (The Rising Sun ?????) but you can't miss it. It has a paved area outside where you can sit and watch the stage door. It also serves food.

There was also a Mexican restaurant virtually opposite the stage door so either would be a good bet for a bite to eat and Lee watching before the performance - though I guess a lot of other people will have the same idea.

Would love to go to the Adelphi again this afternoon but I think I'll be working late. Maybe tomorrow ......

Me again, forgot to ask something.

Where does ALW say there won't be a cast recording of Joseph? Have had a quick look on his site and RUG but couldn't see anything. Will then send a message (or maybe a few) requesting one!

Morning Loppies, afraid neither a badmington player, nor mother, do I still qualify? Is a Welsh Loppy a Lloppy?

I have a totally wonderful old jukebox and amongst the singles I always have on it are Devil in Disguise by Elvis himself, and Daydream Believer by the Monkeys. Could not sleep last night and decided to play the originals to see how they sounded after hearing Lee's version. Now you are going to have to bear with me here because this is very very difficult for me to say, feels like blaspheming actually: not only does Lee sing Daydream Believer better than Davy Jones, but he sings DiD better than Elvis. Whew that didnt hurt too much. I have been comparing the two versions - playing Lee's version without watching him - well trying anyway - and then listening to the single, and no doubt about it, its Lee hands down. BK said that Lee has the gift of making a song his own and he's not kidding. So now I have a problem, does anyone know how to get current tracks onto vinyl?

Morning Diana, it is on the RUG site under FAQs.

Hi Loppies
After a few days of skulking around the edges of this fantastic Lee appreciation blog I have finally been drawn in like a rabbit in the headlights! Hope you have room for a new loppie on these pages?
Its a relief to know that other sane women (which I'm sure you all were before HE appeared) have had their lives disrupted totally unexpectedly and involuntarily by having to to build Googling and MTV surfing into their hectic schedules :-)
I have been trying to put my finger on why this has happened and still haven't succeeded (apart from the fact he is absolutely gorgeous and talented so no real mystery there but I would sincerely like to know what strange power has forced me, with 5 weeks to my own wedding to an absolutely gorgeous sexy man (who is being totally ignored at the moment and may also have to don wig and bright coat soon) AND trying to get to grips with a new job is having to take regular time out to minimise, google and swoon.
They really need to bottle this very potent and tasty Mead - nice to meet you all anyway!

Just been catching up on yesterday evening's posts - had to go to daughter's school concert last night and tried to catch up when I got home but husband was around, looking suspicious. Am so envious about Diana hearing Lee sing, would love to stage door lurk when I go in September but don't suppose husband will want to! Could pretend it's for my daughter as she is a Junior Loppy as well as a Dollop.

Have discovered that sharing my obsession with people I normally try to act dignified with pays dividends. I told my niece, and it turns out that she went to Uni and is still good friends with someone who knows Lee well!!!!! Have begged, pleaded and grovelled with her to use her influence and try to get me a signed photo. In order to get her mad Auntie off her back she has
agreed, so now I'm waiting breathlessly for a progress report. (Can't believe my niece, who normally has excellent taste, watched the appalling Grease thing instead of ADWD!)

Love Shirley's LLopy! Carol - I also have a house full of bears, what sort do you like?

After my initial euphoria late last night, spent the early hours worrying that Row D was a little TOO close and I'd spend the evening staring up at his chin. Lovelee as that may be, I want to see the whole package. Will have to go on that monkey site to check it out.

Best friend coming in a minute. Whereas I'd usually be pleased to see her, am a bit disgruntled that I can't spend the whole day Loppying. Kids are off today for some ridiculous school federation reason but that would have been ok - could have plonked them down in front of the TV. Then they'd have known I'd reallee lost it.

Better go and wash (even that's becoming a chore now) before she arrives.

Hi all, tried to resist logging on until tonight but the pull was just too great! just had a quick glance at Lee Mead Appreciation Society site and it says Official site will be up and running on 6th july (Friday) to coincide with 1st preview I assume? Can't wait, hopfully something new on there! Haven't booked 2nd lot of tickets yet as I suddenly felt bad about spending yet more money on myself when we are moving house etc. but wondering if hubby would mind living without carpets for a while to satisfy me? I think not! Someone tell me I'm not really being selfish, after all I would take my son and it would therefore be educational and possibly lead him into a career in the theatre just as it did Mr Mead, and who am I to stand in the way!!!! (desperately trying to justify it somehow)
Hello Claire, glad you too have found us, don't feel bad about your obsession, your hubby to be need never know!

Wow you have been busy ladies had a moment to myself in the office so couldnt resist!!! You've had me laughing out loud and guffawing (spelling?). Miri oh no! Its so hard to do work when the link to here stares at me. tho I too try and do a bit of work then reward myself coming on here. Hope you get back on soon!

Im really sorry if I offended any blondes!

Diana- I bow down to you!! Wow you lucky lucky thing, not only for hearing lee but being in london so being able to pop to the theatre when you feel like it!! God thats so amazing, reading your comments made me smile as if I was there too with your excitement, i was so excited reading it!!!

I echo all your comments on here, its lovely to have you guys as i know we were all very worried before we discovered each other! Welcome Claire and other new loppies too, I cant explain how my normal sane life existed before! But after reading comments have just realised that I am too off work next week so will miss out on all the preview info and blogs etc, tho im sure other half may disappear for an hour or so hopefully so i can get on here, oh my god how will I cope!!! I never use the computer at home and cant start to!

Just trying today to secretly copy my lee cd onto a casette at work, as ive found an old stereo that has a tape recorder in the stock room! Hoping colleague goes at 5 today, she normally does so then i will have lee in my car all the time. So even tho Loppiness has made people discover technology Ive had a to take a step back in time!

back at lunch ladies!

Back again, just popped over to theatre monkey and think row d in stalls will be fine Debbie. Says you may have to crane your neck, but others say they had no problem. Apparently you get to see sweat and spit and feel part of action, fantastic! Also got 2 out of 3 kids home today (ill) plus nephew who I childmind so can't spend too long chatting, will have to return tonight and just hope hubby doesn't ask why I keep sneaking off to bedroom with laptop! Nappy change needed, gotta run!

H2B knows about the Lee-obsession already Im afraid - probably shouldnt have had the last glass of Pinot Grigio last week and shared the details of the shower dream tho...might have taken it a bit too far and there is a faraway look of fear in his eyes these days (a bit Keith-ish you might say)!
He says that Im a teenager and that Lee looks like that singer Mika - I dont know where to start with that - its so wrong!!
Im not that far past teenager-dom anyway - let us Loppies rejoice in recapturing the youth which was snatched away from us by the onset of the dreaded maturity and domesticity I say!!(At least its not Take That)!

Has everyone seen this? 4th July - Lee's official website will be open for business on 6th July!!! Get up early and log onto www.lee-mead.com and enjoy the content!

Katie, deep jealousy, but hope you get your signed photo. Wonderful

I am into bears too. My husband bought me a lovely dark brown alpaca bear in Santa Fe. So soft and cuddly. Usually quite a snob about these things and love my Steiff repros.

Hello Claire and welcome. To be serious for a minute, I tried very hard to figure out why I became Loppy because is was very frightening before I found out that the same thing had happened to lots of lovely and otherwise sane, normal ladies. Yes Lee is gorgeous and has talent and a lovely voice, but so have lots of singers and actors I have seen over the years and you just think 'nice' and move on.

I think the show was part of it. We all wanted Lee to win and voted for him, and then after he won there was his huge relief and joy, the wonderful perfomance of ADWD and then bam, nothing, no wind down, no behind the scenes interviews so we know what happened next, and we were all just left hanging there.

Then there was the whole issue of watching a wonderful talent develop and blossom. Yes the embryonic ability was all there, and bless him Lee had the courage to risk his career on it, but look at his original audition tape from Miss Saigon and compare it to what he was doing from Paint it Black onwards and you can see the huge transformation. I really believe we were watching the birth of a superstar, and that is just so exciting

I love Lee's vulnerability and transparency. He lets it show how hard he found it coping with professional rejection, how happy he was when he started performing really well- and the great comments he was getting from the judges, and then the unbridled joy when he won. That smile could melt glaciers of ice. For all that he is not 'needy'. He is happy in his private and family life, and has a charming quiet confidence that is enabling him to cope with all the stupid ?s he is being and will be asked in interveiws past and future.

Many times over the years I have seen a good concert or heard a good track, and just gone out and bought the CD or DVD - even on this blogg you can see that lots of the Loppies have already gone out and bought Josh Groban cds because they liked him, but we can't do that with Lee, no material out there yet so we are reduced to scouring the web for snippets.

Not sure how that all interacts together to make a Loppy but I think they are all factors.

Sorry to be so profound, but you asked Claire, in any event relax and enjoy it now you know you are not alone.

I completely agree with Shirley - watching and rooting for somebody on a show like ADWD makes you feel you have a vested interest in their future. But if Lee wasn't as exceptionally talented and lovable, I am sure I would not have become so involved and obsessed. Good looks are great but a person needs the whole package to become a superstar, and our Mr Mead has the whole package and then some.

Did I dream it or did the Beeb say they are putting out an ADWD special at Christmas? If they are, that's something we all have to look forward to at least, aside from our various theatre excursions.

My boss is going to be here for a meeting in 5 mins so had better scoot and adopt suitable business-like mode...

Shirley, I couldn't agree more with your comments. I cannot quite believe how this has taken over my life and yet it doesn't feel wrong somehow, just pleasantly weird. I think it is the fact that we have all watched Lee grow from the very first ADWD show when I picked him out as my Joseph, overcoming setbacks and really wowing the audience with the warmth of his performances.

Yes, he is very good looking, but he would not be so attractive to all of us ladies I'm sure, were it not for the fact that he has lacked confidence in his own ability and watching the gradual transformation as he began to realise that the public did like him and could see the star quality in him, that Bill Kenwright and others had failed to spot until now, and this has made him so pleased and excited about what he's doing.

Lee does seem to have had a very good upbringing and appears very loyal to his family and girlfriend. I think the genuine goodness in him is also a very appealing characteristic. That's what makes us delight in his success more than we would with a less engaging performer, even with a similar amount of talent.

You're right Shirley, about the frustration of not being able to buy any Lee material other than the CD single. (I've gone out and bought Josh Groban too!) I'm sure that contributes to the enjoyment we can get from talking to each other on here.

Welcome Claire and hope all this seriousness about Lee hasn't scared you off. I think we're all a bit puzzled as to quite why we feel this way, but it's so nice to know that others do. Just enjoy it!

Shirley how eloquently put!! You just summed up how I and everyone else probably feels.
as you see im not doing much work in my wind down to lunch which is supposed to be my offical lee time!!

Looking forward to Fridays surfng, already!!

Jackie - I too picked Lee out from the very first programme, and followed him through his trials so routing for him and just wishing they would get off his back about his previous experience and just let him be the amazing well deserving performer that he is. In a way I did think sometimes he was too good for joseph. His 'journey' was as important as anyone elses and you saw that from his VTs (which i love just as much if sometimes more than his performances, his sense of humour seems great) and how much it meant to him. and the the huge risk he took too. what a grounded fella he is!! I do feel for all the extra attention he will be getting if you get me, in a way he just wants to do his job. But i suppose we are true loppies and care for his well being too!

I must admit as ADWD was on the tv I was a fan ( as i admit i am for anything like it, we routed for leona in x factor thought she was amazing but thats as far as it went! actually thinking about it my fella was on you tube watching her clips from the show back in the day, so i suppose i am in good company) , looked forward to the programmes did occasional browse on this site and bbc's one, but it wasnt till the programme ended that my world was turned upside down! watching the final I was so chuffed that he won, and tbh prob wouldnt have rushed to get tickets for the show if keith had one and would have just seen joseph the next time we were in London and waited with baited breath to see what mr mead was next starring in.

But im so pleased loppiness exists and now am enjoying my admiration of a true star, along with you all safe in the knowledge I'm not loosing my mind!

I may not be loosing my mind, but I have lost my grasp of the english language and typing ability as I try to sneakly type at work!! LOL!!! You dont mind tho I'm sure!

Great new photos on www.josephthemusical.com. Backstage on Sunday - all new ones, not seen them anywhere. Lovelee too. Boy is ALW pleesed with Lee, and well he might be.

So glad to have your comments as I was a little concerned I was being too serious. We really do have a lot in common.

I checked theatre monkey before I booked my later seats, and they make the point that with the full orchestra even the A row is fine, which is why I went for them.

And yes Katie, there is a Christmas special documnetary following Lee, like the one they did on Connie last year.

Shirley, Jackie, Katie - you really have hit the nail on the head! Between you, you have managed to sum up exactly what I ( and other loppies) feel. We're not silly teenage groupies or psychotic stalkers, we just genuinely admire Lee's talent and emerging confidence. We would love to meet him, but at the same time we respect his privacy and right to spend time with his lovely girlfriend and family without our intrusion. I hope the same can be said of other fans, but I somehow doubt it.Us loppies are a superior breed i think?

Definately not psychotic stalkers and I think its important to reiterate that point before the restraining orders start plopping through the letterbox :-)
If you think about it - many other stars have loads and loads of fans who really admire their heroes/heroines but I bet very few of them are fortunate enough to have a girly gossip with other fans and to help each other look for tickets and get the inside info on all things Mead - and the reassurance part which does seem very important to us all!
In all probability we will have forgotten about all of this by this time next year or even this time next week for some of us but hey - whats the harm in having someone equally smitten and feeling the same things at the same time to have a dose of harmless dreaming during a long and dull afternoon?

Good grief this has had me laughing for days, my post-childbirth bladder can't take it. I agree with everyone, Lee is great, husband thinks this is all hilarious. Even the Tesco delivery man is sick of seeing/hearing Lee Mead when he comes round! ha ha. Going in November, can't actually wait. Have we become like the new generation of women who fancy Cliff Richard/Barry Manilow types?
Keep up the good work, this site is a lot of fun and helps you realise you ain't mad, just completely right!

I have a new “how to deceive the husband/work colleagues” tip. Although some of you may already use it, it might be worth passing on. I’ve found that I often have to close this page at short notice, due to my services being required for some mundane task, and lose everything I’ve typed, so now I type in Word and cut and paste. I save my file as something so deadly dull no-one will open it and then I can start from where I left off. (except you’ve sometimes moved on and I’ve lost the thread).

Anyway I’ve been browsing at work again, agreeing with all your comments. Yes, there are loads of good looking, talented guys out there (well, a few) but Lee is special because he’s essentially very lovable. Louise, I thing you’ve hit the nail on the head when you said that our worlds were turned upside down when ADWD ended because then there was a huge void with only titbits to fill it. I had become very nervous towards the end of the show, because I had booked my tickets in April. I was sure Lee was going to win then, but in the final I was a nervous wreck because I had already committed to my birthday treat and couldn’t bear the thought of going to see either Lewis or Keith playing Lee’s role. Mind you, I’m very jealous of all your good seats. I could only get row O stalls then, admittedly in the centre but I’m worried I won’t be able to see very well and I won’t get the chance to go again, living miles away Up North. Still, I will get to see him in 14 days, 6 hours time.

Anyway, looking forward to Friday, like you all. Do you thing Lee’s new website will crash when we all log on at once?

Its official lee time!! Just popped back let you know about the photos on joseph site but shirley very kindly has kept us informed. hurrah I love this site!! ( please scott don't ever tire of us! and by the way I do read the rest of the site too!) he looks very nice in the photos, jason doesnt look happy tho!! how jealous!!!

My colleague has just gone out for a bit, anyhow ive seized this opportunity for 'operation -step back in time' . to tape mr mead from cd to cassette, as i realleee mead him in my car!! fingerscrossed it works i will beable to drive around happilee and join you in all in grinning in my car!!!

Elisa, it better not! Thought I'd get up at 5.30am when hubby goes to work and have at least 1 hour uninterrupted on new site, but he just phoned to say he may take the day off on Friday to attend school sports day. Normally I'd be happy to spend quality time with the family, but I'm kinda hoping it will rain so sports day will be cancelled and I can log on and indulge! Feel guilty even thinking that!

Elisa- god the final must have been very tense!! I know how you feel about if you wouldnt get to see lee, im still scared that he wont be on when we go in october.

Only 14 more sleeps to go you lucky thing, let us know what your seats are like in row 0 as im row U in stalls way back and am panicking that they will be soooo bad. i even rung the box office back up and asked them if they were bad, i thought i would calm down after booking them but i didnt and the fear still creeps up now and again. please say im not alone!!

Louise, you're not alone!

oops, pressed post by mistake! Only 8 more sleeps for me and yet I'm still worried in case they decide to rest Lee or something before opening night, how devastating would that be? Just talking about it brings me out in a cold sweat! I've been sooo lucky as I didn't book tickets early on. Really thought I'd missed the boat, but got lucky! Thanks for tip on joseph and ALW sites by the way. Fab piccies! Spent a while attempting fun quiz with kids but got a bit too carried away!

Thanks Shirley - finally found the FAQs and have sent an email to RUG asking for a cast recording once the show has settled in.

Wish I could split myself in two. There's so much stuff re Lee at present and insufficient time to follow it all up. I feel like I'm being left behind. Don't think my man will let me give up work to spend more time googling. Even if he did, I'd then not have the money to spend on Lee stuff and tickets. Can't win!

By the way, I ordered a few Joseph items and am very pleased with them. Good think I have my own credit card!

Love the photos of Lee in his suit at the concert. HE looks soooooo gorgeous ....

I downloaded a couple of Josh Groban singles a few months back after I kept hearing them on the radio when on holiday and grew to love them. Now I also want to get one of his CDs. Seems we all think alike!!

Going back to ADWD, I didn't see much of the audition episodes and not all of the first couple of live shows as had to work a few Saturdays then and was still on way home/cooking dinner etc. But I remember seeing Lee walk down some stairs in the first of the live shows (I think) and hearing him sing and immediately thinking he would be one of the favs and looked out for him after that.

Oh lor just seen the time - was going to have a quick 15 min break and it's nearly an hour. Back to work!

Fellow loppies, another new member joins the ranks and if I tell you I am/was a huge Donny fan, that will give you a fair idea of my "real" age so I should also know better than having a crush on Mr Mead. For those of a similar age, I'll admit to crying over Donny when he sang "Twelfth of Never" albeit I was young and vulnerable at the time. Lee is in danger of having the same impact and, until I found this website and all the similar comments, I felt guilty about admitting the obsession in the event I could be charged with a criminal offence!! Suffice to say I didn't quite know how to contain myself when Donny & Lee appeared on stage together at the concert at the weekend .... sorry, people keep mentioning "Jason" .... Jason who? Was there someone else there? lol Based "up North" am completely jealous of you all getting to see the man in question in the next few weeks ... I will need to contain myself with my Donny concert in October. Is there any hope for me?

Half day at work, so I'm at home to do the usual catch ups on this site and chuckle at your comments and posts! Must admit though, I did sneak a preview at work - come what may! For some reason it feels important to be part of the news on this site when it happens...and it kind of sustains me until the evening when I can sit down without interruptions or the fear of the big bad boss peeking over my shoulder. Turns out they just accept my "kookiness" (their word not mine) at work and would expect nothing less from me than walking around on another planet alot of the time. Well I like my planet and think the majority of loppies visit it on a regular basis, judging by the things we write about and agree on!
Shirley, loved your summing up of what makes us admire Lee so, I too believe its witnessing the blossoming of such a talent. So many reality tv shows churn out artists who do well (or not so well) but normally fade away following a few hits. The difference with Lee is his talent and charisma is such a rare jewel that it won't vanish. The fact he doesn't pursue fame but career development and opportunity instead will open more doors for him than for most artists in his field. And you guys are also spot on about the obvious love and devotion he has for his family and loved ones - it's very appealing but also a sadly seldom seen character trait in alot of people in the public eye and I guess we recognise him as the lovely guy he really seems to be. Ali, you summed it up by naming us the superior breed! I whole heartidly agree!
Btw, I also read somewhere (possibly something on the heat website) about an ADWD christmas special... something tells me that as soon as ALW realises that he struck gold with Lee a huge amount of material will start coming out, all the better for us!
I received my tickets today and with baited breath logged on to theatre monkey - upper circle A5 and A6. I kid you not, I paid an indecent amount for those tickets and am now scared stiff that I've got a metal bar running infront of my seat obstructing the view! I've accepted I will probably just see the top of his head and catch an eyeful of bouncy curls (unless its a wig of course!), but will take my binoculars with me as well...at least I won't have anyone huge and tall sitting infront of me (unless they are levitating)!
Right, guys, wish me luck, I'm off for a driving lesson before taking my test in a few weeks time...will try and stay on the road and concentrate rather than think of all things Lee instead!

Caz!!! A very warm welcome to a very select bunch... I think you will feel right at home here!

Miri- if you lean forward you should be ok you'll just piss people off in front of you! Good luck with your lesson, i only learnt 3 years ago and it was one of the best things ive ever done!! stick with it, wont tell you how many tests it took!!

Miri i meant behind you, having a very loppy today loosing the ability to speak!

Just saw the Heat article you were all talking about when I was sat in the dentists - definately helped to quell the fear but I have to say Im not a fan of the overly gelled 'afro' look in the main picture - natural is so much better!
Miri I'm sure you will pass your test but if you dont then its a great excuse to go to see the show on the train - sit opposite the theatre - summon up LOTS of Dutch courage and then pounce -oops I mean go and say hello :-)
Can I just ask a general question to all the Loppies out there - how much has your workrate slowed/stopped since you discovered this site? I'm pretty sure my company would hunt ALW down and sue for loss of time if they checked my internet history!

Claire- am with you there!! if you try and reward yourself it does work but sometimes the pull is too strong especially when you are in the office on your own!!

my colleague has left for the day so am trying still to do my tape tho i think the tape player is not working properly, god i cant even do old technology!! anyhow either way i have the cd on in the background rather than radio 2, which is nice!!

On historys how do i delete it??

Louise, in the little Google bar at top left of screen, click on down arrow and then click on Clear History. All done! Mind you i can't figure out how to remove stuff from the bar at the top with all the website addresses you have visited. Anyone any ideas?

Thanks Jackie-

worked it out- if you go to view then explorer bar than history you can delete, i think its still stored on you pc but not as easy to get at!!

Caz, there's no hope for any of us. Now is not the time to worry. It's in 5 years time and we're all down and out in London - Ploppies have thrown us out, kids won't speak to us, jobs are no more and we're penniless. But at least we'll all be able to meet at last and congregate around the Adelphi stage door, reminiscing of days gone by with our bottles of Mead. Maybe there'll be some sort of Loppy retirement home.
Just want to add big nods to all that's been said. Where have all the other realitee 'stars' gone - apart from Will Young, I reallee liked him and I obviouslee have good taste 'cos Lee does too. Lee will be around for years to come. I love it when he sort of brings his forehead in and furrows his brow when being asked a question. He's the most modest person I've seen on TV yet he has so much to give.
Where are all those pics of his family and girlfriend?

Debbie I was wondering too, looked at heat magazine and the guy behind his mum looks way older than 22!?

I'll be there with you in the loppy home!!!!

Louise, if you’ve got the latest IE
Click Tools, then click Delete Browsing history. Then
To delete sites visited – Click Delete History
To delete Items from top bar – Temporary Internet Files: Click Delete Files (this could take a while depending on how much browsing you’ve done!

I dont know if I am just repeating what Louise said but when you are on the internet - go onto tools then down to internet options then choose the option for clear history - it clears it out of your internet address bar and you can even select an option which allows you to choose how long the pages you have visited will stay in your history so if you clear that down to 1 day then hey presto when you come back in the office tomorrow its a clean sheet and fun albeit guilt-ridden bout of lee-ring!
I love the sound of the Loppy home - and I have a name suggestion - Mead Meadows :-)

Another newcomer, (found your blogs yesterday) and SO relieved to find I'm not alone. I think each and every comment I've read reflects my own thoughts and feelings. I wasn't sure about joining in but then I read Caz's introduction today to the sacred circle and felt very comforted that I wasn't alone in my 'age group' with such an overwhelming 'crush' on the boy. Where did it come from? Like most others, I spied the 'hunk' from day one, but didn't really get into the show until half way through - even refusing invitations to go out on Saturdays - the obsession had begun. And now I can't trawl enough websites to find out every silly little bit of information about him. Work of course is taking a knock - I have downloaded the video's of all his performances and have them playing all day everyday in the corner of my screen, so whilst I'm distracted from work, I am happily so. Not so sure the boss is as happy though.
But can I make you jealous... the following Monday after Lee's triumph, a supplier invited myself and another colleague to a preview show on the 10th July. I was, and still am, beside myself with joy. I had already bought tickets for September which I wouldn't part with, and am already planning to go a couple times more throughout his season. I'm afraid to become a 'stage door' fan incase that leads to being an uncontrollable stalker. It's a thin line.....
Oh dear, have some work to do - how inconvenient.

Yep. I always have my history down to 0 days. They're all experts at my place, so they could find a way if they really wanted to but fortunately, being men, they have little or no interest in my browsing life (nor any other aspect of it, come to think of it).

Hi folks, home from work and able to respond, though of course I kept dropping in all day to keep up. Shirley, et al, you are so spot on why we have become loppies. Watching the lovelee one's career going from strength to strength is going to be so much fun.
On sunday before the ALW section I was eating my dinner and had no appetite. I realised it wasn't so much anticipation, as nervousness on his behalf, he does something new, and I get the 'butterflies' for him. Needn't have bothered, he was great. And he is so clearly taking Bill Kenwright's advice (I think it was him) to enjoy it all.

I have got 2 more tickets for next May, row D. I'm having them sent to my son's address (yes, I am old enough to have a son living away from home) as I decided all that was holding me back from buying them was my hubby's derisive comments if he knew I'd bought them so soon. I'll tell him next year:))

Book me a room in Mead Meadows - I'm in!! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement, Louise and Claire - I never bothered to learn to drive when I was younger and living in London - no need!!! Now with a change of circumstances etc blahblah I find myself a bit stuck without a licence...might have already taken my test a few times, but we don't talk about that, do we...!!
Am really struggling to fight the temptation to book another ticket to see Lee, possibly in feb, as I fancy a stalls ticket near the front...please someone out there be my voice of reason and tell me I'm being greedy and need to put the money to better use (though I can't personally think of any better use!)... so sorely tempted... but is maxing out my credit card a good thing under the circumstances??? Aargh! Temptation! Shall try to resist for another 24 hours if I can... saying that, if I need to blame someone if/when I capitulate, it will be you, Claire, for filling my head with the wonderful fantasy of mooching around the Adelphi and meeting him! That thought alone could keep me sustained for a year..

Thanks for the technical info!! All sorted just need to doctor the old lap top at home now!!!

good news!!! my cassette has worked!!! Im looking forward to my drive home, i love driving and singing along, sorry chris evans you are now one listener down for a while!!! must remember to observe traffic laws and not have any mishaps like before!! told my mother in law the story for those who remember( albeit missing the lee info) she found it hillarious!)

Welcome Auds, I cannot begin to say how jealous I am!!! Please fill us in with all the juicy details!!!

mead meadows..... Loving it!!

One more clip on you tube me thinks before home time. feel guilty have decided that i am going to skive ballet tonight, tho may change my mind, oh i dont know the rain is making me not want to go!!

enjoy ladies, see you tommorow.

Miri- 2 words sod it!!!! if i was you i would!

Thanks again for technical info. have just managed to delete history from laptop, wouldn't have had a clue otherwise! See, Loppiness is teaching me something other than facts about Lee Mead. Auds, am looking forward to a detailed account of your evening, incl.any tips please. Hubby offered to take middle son to swimming lesson and other 2 sat in front of 'The Simpsons' so time for a little indulgence, if I leave it too long it takes ages to catch up as you have all been so busy!! Another good thing to come out of all this is a little weight loss! Have spent so much time online that I've lost my appetite and have stopped picking at things during the day, although sitting on my bum a lot isn't ideal and I really should do more than walk to the school and back twice a day! Did casually mention having a drink near stage door pre-show to my sister who thought it an excellent idea, maybe she's just humouring me in the hope I'll stop mentioning LM in every other conversation?

Louise, you're a bad, bad woman!! However, because of you I am now the proud owner of a ticket for saturday 24th feb, stalls, D24!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing new to say - just wanted to keep up with everyone. It's taken me ages to read all the comments that have appeared since lunchtime. I can just imagine a BBC news item about number of work days lost due to loppiness - and I don't even technically work!!!!

Agree with all that's gone before about Lee, why we are the loppies we are, Mead Meadows (can see I'll be headed there sooner rather than later if I let the housework slip further!), etc. Blimey, we're starting to sound like Stepford Wife clones, but all in a good cause and definitely due to excellent taste!

Hello to all new loppies.

Typically, my birthday falls in the fortnight that Lee is away in January, so will have to keep working on that.

Love the new photos - thanks for the heads-up.

Better go mix with children, otherwise it might start getting back to ploppy that Mummy spends an awful lot of time on the computer! Will be back later tonight though for a final catch up of the day.

Loving Mead Meadows, which I am assuming is in Leigh on Sea, or perhaps even Lee on Solent? Dont remember who said it about the new photos, but yes it is lovely to see Lee in his suit. I know he is playing Joseph now and has to publicise the show, but much prefer the photos of him in his ADWD outfits, and his own clothes, could learn to get heartily sick of that dream coat.

Did you all notice elsewhere in The Stage today that Craig is to play Joseph on the touring production. Given that he and Lee got on so well how nice is it that they have both 'won'.

Ali, know what you mean about the weight loss. Somehow watching Lee or being on here is much more interesting than food. I, too, have lost a little weight, although I have made a determined effort to get on the rowing machine. Now, not a tedious experience at all, as I listen to Lee on my new iPod!! Also the thought of going to see Joseph in January and possibly hanging around the stage door (just in the interest of curiosity, of course!) in case His Meadship is about, has meant I'm really focussed on getting fitter and slimmer. Sad, really ....

I'm now seriously considering persuading my sister, or anyone really, to go and see it again with me next year. Perhaps I can make it a girls weekend in London. Now there's an idea...

uh oh hubby just caught me watching Daydream Believer on YouTube! Heard him tell youngest that "mummy is watching the new man in her life..." the rest was unintelligable but I don't suppose it was very complimentary! Think I'd better go for now or I could be heading for Mead Meadows sooner rather than later? Will try to get back later.

Hi again,

Still at work but everyone else has gone home so having a little Lee time before I go.

Caz, I was a David Cassidy fan in my teens so I guess that makes us pretty close in age.

Interesting that a couple of you have lost weight thanks to Lee. Me too. Normally I'm a pig when it comes to food but the past three or four weeks, I've not felt that hungry and haven't been scoffing the usual biscuits, sandwiches left over from meetings, etc. It's doing wonders for my weight. Now if only the gym would play videos of Lee it would be a great incentive to start going regularly again.

My tickets for Monday arrived safely - phew!

Will catch up with the rest of today's posts on the train home.

Hi Loppies - just back from Henlee - it's obviously been a very busy day today and welcome to all the new Loppies! I am still gently putting pressure on Ploppy re going again - he hasn't said yes yet, but then again he hasn't said no, so I am remaining cautiously optimistic.

Quite agree with all the comments about why we have become Loppies, I too picked Lee out from the very start - he was just someone you watched, even when everyone else was on stage. Oh come on, let's just all admit it - HE IS FANTASTIC. I shall of course be booking my place in Mead Meadows! By the way Katie and Shirley - do you think our bears make us Bloppies (as in Bear Loving etc. etc.) - I have about 80 all various types - they just have to look at me with their big brown eyes and I am smitten (come to think about it, I could be talking about Mr Mead!).

Better go and do some ironing now - its the pile from the holeeday, but first I'll just have to psych myself up by listening to Paint It Black!!

Me again - forgot to say fantastic news re the Christmas making of Joseph - thought you would probablee do that after the Connie one last year, and really pleased for Craig - my sister lives near High Wycombe and had told me Joseph was due to be there in August, but we found it a little strange that it would be running concurrentlee with the one at the Adelphi - now all is clear! Don't forget to keep the pressure up for a DVD of ADWD and for a cast recording with the wonderful Lee!!

Hi all
Have recently found this blog and have spent the last few days catching up with past postings. have decided you are all mad (about Lee anyway) and therefore I feel quite at home. Like Caz and diana i was a david cassidy fan in my teens (still am but dont tell anyone).
I have to say that i can not admit to losing weight despite all the hours spent perusing all the wonderful links you have signposted but what I have done is managed to surgically remove my teenage son from the one and only computer - and even better totally annoyed him in process. revenge can be sweet!
Not only have i learnt loads about lee and about you all but I have learned loads and loads about the workings of new technology. nobody can claim this blog is not educational!
Well done Miri for new ticket. i think i might follow your example and treat myself to another visit to Joseph as going in Dec but not partic good seats. Like someone else (and I have forgotten who) I will have to hide from other half and produce nearer time - i will pretend I have won/found them or something and hide the bank statement.
Gosh must dash and cook tea - mind you have told teenage son to start cooking as he is not getting back on computer!
PS noticed another Fiona (we do get everywhere) so shortened mine.

Really pleased about Craig. He seems like a nice person and was so generous after being knocked out. How have all you lucky Loppies lost weight? If anything I’ve put some on due to sitting at my computer all day, taking no exercise.

Louise, going back up the blog 400 miles to 1.30pm, yes I could hardly breathe during the final. Until then, I assumed that, if by some catastrophe he was in the bottom 2, Andrew would save him. When I go on the 18th I’ll see what the view is like from row U for you. Which seat numbers have you got?

When I said Louise (I think it was you) that I couldn't see his family and friends in the mag I meant as in I couldn't find an article in Heat about him at all - I've seen the first one where he was sitting in that chair with the two floosies but have I missed one since with his family? Please tell me someone! Have just spent 10mins in a newsagents looking through all the naff celebrity mags - trying to be inconspicuous - to find said article.

We are all becoming super secretive. I too have my second tickets and have yet to break the news to Ploppy. Will break the news gently when he's drunk - may have to spike his drink one evening.

Welcome Fi. I am getting totalee confused with all the similar names. I wonder if He has heard about us yet. Hopefullee not!

Roll on Mead Meadows.

Just visited appreciation society site and found lovelee pics from Diana concert on photo gallery page 16 + 17. Some are on joseph site but some I haven't seen before.
Debbie, photo was in last weeks Heat mag. Lee was wearing white suit and sitting on rainbow sofa, wearing rainbow slippers, drinking from rainbow glass etc. There was a photo of his mum and girlfriend (poss.a still from audience of ADWD?) Think this is article everyone is referring to? If not please let me know.
If Lee does happen to get wind of us then "we are all normal really, do not be afraid!"

Anyone else replied? The floozies were in NOW Magazine of 25 June, the lovely family photo taken at the final is in HEAT of 30 June. I also prefered the concept of Lee on the technicolour sofa. Did the Editor's girlfriend get the slippers too?
Spent time with my Mum today who was so annoyed with the camera angles at the concert; it's Donny , now it's Jason, now it's ... Not Lee again! Mum loves the Josh Groban. I first heard My Confession on a skating gala prog and meant to find it, he sings a lot in italian, have found good web site with full translations. We then played some Lee naturalee.

thanks ali - have read that but can't recall the familee pics. will dig it out of its hiding place. memory isn't what it was.

thanks vali too! can't keep up with you lot - i type in my comment and someone's beaten me to it.

Hi again, just back home again from an unavoidable meeting. So glad I'm not the onlee one resorting to subterfuge regarding the second tickets. I suppose I had better let my son in on the secret before the tickets arrive at his place or he'll ask me why I'm having stuff delivered there in hubby's hearing.
I did hear something on another site about Craig but it wasn't confirmed. I'll go look at the Stage article now. I did like Craig, not to win, onlee Lee coucld win, but as a person, and he really wanted to make the most of the experience, learning opportunities etc.
Pity I didn't see all the stuff about deleting history before I left the office for a weeks holiday, anyone's guess who will use my office computer before I get back. 'Oh well, it was only in my lunchtime sir' (fingers crossed behind back)

Back again! Welcome new loppies. Fi - I'm normally a Fi, but sometimes I try and be a bit more grown-up Fiona (doesn't usually work though!)

Fantastic news about Craig, although not altogether surprising as Bill really was impressed with his "journey" and talent. I think he will make a very fine Joseph too.

I bought Josh Groban's latest album today off Amazon and thought I might as well stick ADWD in my basket too, since I can't play the downloaded version in my car. Also bought a beginner's piano book as I am going to attempt to teach my eldest how to play. I started aged 5 and have always loved music and still have most of my books from when I was little, plus all my ALW musical scores. My brother is a stage manager, but he's busy with operatic productions - would have been fun if he'd got in on this one though.

Anyway, best tootle off back to ploppy in the lounge before he decides to come and see what I'm up to here in the office!

Night all - sweet meads!

I cant say I have been a Fi since childhood(not yesterday unfortunatelY) but agree that the longer version still does not make me grow up.
Also really pleased re Craig - thought he did progress really well in the series and also had a very endearing smile.
I really will have to find out how to download music - if only the teenage son would speak to me he could show me how but I just do not understand teenage grunt language. Prob just as well as i would also have to steal his ipod to play it on.
I am away on hol next week so relying on you all to keep me updated on the reviews of first shows - iam so envious of you lucky people going in first few weeks.

I am so pleased that Craig has been taken up by the legit MT. I was impressed by his voice and felt he had a likeability that would connect with an audience of all ages. The way he ran up that barricade with breath to spare showed he had the stamina for the stage (unlike some others) and he coped well with the tough JS training. Way To Go another Joseph !

I have lost weight too, lost 4lb down to ideal (motto 'Body for Life' - being a fan is self improving ) I do a sort of Yoga-ercise to the music clips. Good fun.

So I am not the only one away next week, that's two of us will have lots of catching up to do when we get back.

What a great idea an exercise dvd full of Lee clips, wouldn't we all be sooo fit if one was to be released?

I'll buy an exercise DVD full of Lee. Perhaps we should have a gym in Mead Meadows where the man himself could instruct us on our bodies for life!

Sweet meads everyone!

don't forget a trampoLEEne in the garden! Getting a bit silLEE now, should get some sLEEp!!!! night all

I have been echatting with a moderator for the RUG forums, asking how we might best influenceALW over Lee output, and she has very kindly come up with the attched. I'm sure you dont need me to tell you how to make good use of it.

Hi Shirley,

I started a thread for Lee in the Fan Chat forum on the RUG message board. I had mentoned this to RUG, that I thought it might be a good idea. I have not gotten the o.k., but they pretty much let me do the rules on the Fan Chat myself. If they later say no I will lock the thread and archive it. I hope you pass the word around, there are rules of course so please check what can and cannot be said.

You can talk about wanting a regular album, but nothing related to JOSEPH in this thread. This might be a good way to let RUG know what his fans want. It could get to ALW, one never knows. As ALWs assistant might check the RUG board.:) Below is what I wrote as an introduction to the thread. Let me know what you think? ~Carolyn

Fan Chat Forum on RUG message board

Are you a Loppie?

I just found out that the Lee Mead fans are called "Loppies" according to one person who has been emailing me and also a publication called "Stage."
Are you a Loppie?

"Loppies" stands for Lee-Obsessed People.

I decided to welcome the "Loppies" to the Fan Chat board. Since Lee is the "man of the hour "so to speak, I think it only fair that he has a special thread right now. :)

Yes, I am breaking my own rule by having a separate thread. That is why titled this thead the way I did.

Please do not post any Website names or URLs that you might have for Lee. This is just for member to chat on the RUG message board about Lee in general.

Members want to talk about him and we have a Fan Chat forum...so chat away in this thread.

Once JOSEPH starts I imagine most will be talking about him in the show. Then they should post in the JOSEPH forum and not here.

This is thread is only realated to Lee Mead as an actor/singer; not for any one particular show.

Yours,

Carolyn

Link to thread, well I hope I copied it correctly: http://www.reallyuseful.com/rug/join/message/viewtopic.php?p=21160#21160

Oh and Scott, I have emailed her back to correct the bit about The Stage

Hi Shirley,

Since I do not have anyway to contact others in your group. I have to say that I just edited Carol Williams post.

She was talking about a JOSEPH cast album, that can be done as a poll in the JOSEPH forum not the off-topic forum. Maybe ask who wants a new cast album? Somethign like that. She also posted about sending letters or to petition the BBC about a recording. Again RUG has strict board rules, and one is about discussing or talking about another production company.

I set-up the thread for members to chat about Lee Mead, not to use it as a soap box. I can get in trouble for these kinds of posts. It is to have fun and talk about why you like Lee. How great a singer he is, etc. Not to petition other members to go after the BBC. They have email contacts on their Website. I doubt they can make a recording of the TV show, due to various laws and copyrights. But that is not anything I want to discuss on the Fan Chat forum. It is supposed to be a fun place.

There are many members as I said who do not know who Lee is, this is the place for your group to tell other people who he is. Most people outside the UK never heard him sing that song.

People can say they wish they had put the TV show on video for sale, but not ask people to petition the BBC.

Anyway, can you get the word out that this thread is not for Loppies to do what ever they want. It is to discuss the actor, not petition for recordings. If ti continues to be like that and not a place where people talk about Lee the person...then it will be locked. As I said this is the first time soemthing like this has been done on the message board. I took a chance to do this, so it would be appreciated if people would follow the RUG board rules. I do not want to have to edit every post. That was something I was worried about. I am a volunteer fan moderator I do not get paid for doing this and I fixed a place for you to talk about Lee, but not to post about a petition or campaign on RUGs message board. :)

Thanks,

Carolyn

Feeling very uncomfortable here, like piggy in the middle. I think if we are going to use this as a way to get to ALW we have to be seriously subtle. Never having even looked at a blogg site before becoming a Loppy I had not realised how restricted and restrictive they can be. More than ever realise how blessed we are with Scott's tolerance. Still if we can manipulate this darned thing to get some more Leematerial out there it must in the end be worth the effort.

Oh dear Shirley I can see why you feel stuck in middle. However not your responsibility what anyone else puts on website and RUG do seem to be being quite strict. As you say we are lucky with this site and scott's (probably bemused) tolerance.

Gillian - I am beginning to wonder if holiday next week is worth it and will anyone miss me if I stay at home and spend all week surfing Lee sites on net (and learninghow to download music and video clips - still beyond my technical ability). They will miss the meals prepared for them but perhaps if I send them away with their meals........hmmm food for thought.

Must dash to work - FT work does get in way of this lee obsessing.

This is the latest email I have had from Carolyn and is saying exactly what I wanted to hear, so this really could be a way to get through to ALW.

As I said, I took this on myself and hope it works. But I have to maintain the same moderating as I do with the other members. That is why no mention of the blogs name on the forum, or asking for petitions to the BBC. You would be surprised what you can get accomplished by simple posting on the RUG board. If I say that we now are getting lost of people talking about Lee in the Fan Chat, then my RUG contact might alert Andrew or keep ask me what you talk about. I have to keep Lee and JOSEPH in separate forums due to the other producers and backers of the JOSEPH production

Shirley, poor you. ou are only doing your best to help everyone, so don't worry. We can use the thread for chatting maybe, and post other stuff on here. Let's see what everyone thinks and also what Scott is happy with.

Morning Loppies,

Shirley, just skimmed through your last posts. Eeeeekkk. I've not really blogged (if that's the correct term) before so I am not up either on what's allowed and what's not. We are very lucky with Scott - thanks, Scott!! Will have a look at the RUG forum but feel reluctant to post anything in the circs.

For anyone who's not seen, the Joseph site has extended the opening night ticket competition. Hope the Loppies are successful.

Had to wait a while for my train home last night so passed the time by reading the previous 24 hours posts. Received a number of strange looks both on the platform and on the train as I couldn't help smirking and giggling at everyone's comments.

I'd be seriously worried about my Lee addiction if it wasn't that I'm clearly not alone. Shirley, Jackie, Katie & Ali - totally agree with your comments from yesterday. As Jackie said, this attraction to Lee is puzzling but doesn't feel at all wrong. Lee is gorgeous to look at but that is only a small part of his appeal, and to me by no means the most important. It's his voice no. 1 and then a combination of his looks, modesty and all round talent. I think Lee is at the start of a hugely successful career and I feel excited and almost privileged to be a tiny, tiny part of his world.

Yes, Claire, my work has definitely suffered the past month or so. Please reserve a place for me at Mead Meadows. No Miri, you're not being greedy - sorry to hear about the PC at work. I've got tickets to go twice and I'm already planning on going again in Feb/March and I'm not sure that I'll be satisfied at that. I've never seen Joseph and a couple of nights ago my other half said to me what if I don't enjoy Joseph??!! I just looked at him pityingly. He clearly does not understand.

I'm away this weekend so no Lee and Loppies for 2.5 days. Help! Will have to check the newsagents on the off chance of something about the previews. Will be thinking of Lee Friday and Sat evenings and hoping all going well.

Please can Mead Meadows have a psychiatric wing. I htink I need it now. Jackie I think that is an excellent idea, and Diana, I think nearly all of your blogg would be just fine - only the couple of Joseph mentions to disguise.

Seems this is a blog, that would be a post on a message board. Why does life have to be so complicated. Just want to share my massive admiration of the massively talented and lovely Lee.

Well I joined the RUG site and may try to post later today. It does seem a bit more restrictive than initiallee inferred, but you never know. Our posts here seem to contain bits of everything, Lee himself and why we like him, plus tips re sites to visit etc, which seems to be a no no on RUG. Still we need to get the message across about a cast recording. There is no way I'd go to see Lee and the current cast, then buy a CD of someone else singing. This is a proper renewal, not just the same long running show with a cast change, after all. I doubt I'm alone in that, so look at all the sales they could be losing. It seems we could 'poll' for a new CD on the Joseph thread even without having a 'loppy' thread anyway. I have no idea how to create a poll, but hopefully someone will so I can vote on it.

I have some video clips downloaded from a site made available by a poster on youtube (look for Crystelles) which I am going to try today to make into a dvd to take away on hols with me, though as I am going to have to convert the source material umpteen times, the picture quality won't be much good especiallee as it is not great to start with. We are on a canalboat, which I think has a dvd player along with the TV. (The TV reception's not that good either, from what I recall from last time we did this) I already made a CD from them. Will be much better than nothing, maybe I can dip in while the other half is 'driving' the boat:)) But it's the Loppies, and current news, especiallee next week of all weeks! I shall miss most.

Off work today, but am supposed to be ironing/packing/shopping for provisions as we are off earlee tomorrow. See you later.

Shirley - really sorry I got you into hot water, like other Loppies this is the only BLOG site I've even done and I wasn't aware quite how strict the RUG site was and exactly what the rules were! I grovel accordingly. I also thank Scott for allowing us so make leeway on this site - greatlee appreciated.

Will cower back in my corner now and be quite for the rest of the day.

Have a good holiday Gillian, and all other Loppies who are away on hols. I do admire your technological skills, wish I could get that stuff onto a cd or dvd. Can you take it straight of the BBC Joseph site for the better quality? but the Crystelles stuff is pretty good too. When I was away last week I found that I could not cope without Loppy support. Kept telling people about this wonderfulee talented guy who came through a televised talent show/audition process to be Joseph and watched their eyes do a Keith. So much easier when we all share the obsession.

Shirley, thanks for your valiant efforts with RUG. I have to say that I’ve looked at their forums before and been scared off by the restrictions. Scott is wonderful to tolerate us like this and I know we all really appreciate it. I still don’t think I will be posting on their site on a regular basis as I don’t feel comfortable there, but if it will help with recordings or whatever, I’ll have a go. As Gillian said, I’ve no idea how to start a poll, but if someone creates one I'm sure we'll all be voting.

To be honest, this is the first place I’ve ever posted anything. It’s like a second home now.

So far as I can work out, all you can download from the BBC site is a link that opens the actual video clip from their page, you can't actually get the clip onto your own computer. The podcasts are different, but I missed most of them. There are websites that allow you to download videos from youtube, but then you have a 'flash video' file, which needs a flash video player installed on your computer so you can play it, and you then have to get software to convert it to something that can be edited for DVD, all too much for me. I'm not even sure I can do it with Crystelles files, just started to try now. I wouldn't bother at all except I need something to keep me going next week.

Must go and get some breakfast...

Have just been catching up on last night's posts - so much to read through! Put me down for Mead Meadows please. Although Ploppy might not throw me on the streets after all - last night when I'd had a vino or too to many (at a dull works function Ploppy dragged me to), I confessed the full extent of my loppiness to him and he was remarkably unthreatened! Perhaps for some strange reason he doesn't feel that the lovely Mr Mead, young, talented, gorgeous and set for a stellar career in Musical Theatre, would be all that tempted by a short-sighted, matronly 47 year old like me.

That's the thing, though - obsessed as I am, I am perfectly happy for Lee to be with his lovely Kerry. I just want to be able to watch his career, stay up to date with his news and see/hear his wonderful voice as often as possible. Not much to ask, is it? (Oh, and a signed photo would be great, too).

For all Bloppies out there, I think there could be a chance that Steiff might be making a musical Joseph bear. Earlier this year they got together with RUG to issue a Phantom bear fitted with an MP3 player so you can listen to your fave songs whilst cuddling Phantom Ted in bed. Now, if they do do a Joseph bear, how brilliant would it be if they used Lee's recordings of the Joseph songs?

OK I lied about staying quiet cos I just read Katie's comments and the idea of a Joseph bear has just made my day (feeling very downbeat after my totalee stupid attempts on the RUG site) and that would certainlee solve Ploppy's Christmas present dileema! Fingers crossed. As with all the other Loppies I don't think my own personal Ploppy feels threatened, I am of a "certain age", and agree that I have no problems with Mr Mead and the lovelee Kerry - just think he is such a fantastic performer, has such a lovely voice, smile etc. etc. Was reading the morning paper to Mr Ploppy as he drove me into Town today, and there was a little picture of Lee on one of the pages - it was an advert for the show, but it certainly brightened my journey. I'll go back to being quiet and humilated now.

Oh Carol, please don't, I was so pleased to see you there. Just didn't want to upset anyone here, you are all my lifeline to sanity (well my version of). I think if we do as Jackie suggested, chat there and post info here we should not go too far wrong. Anyway, what is the worst that can happen. They lock and archive the thing. We were fine before it was there, and will be fine after, just while it is there we might be able to influence things a bit.

Hi everyone - hope you have had a good night of loppying - I dont tend to use the computer at home much - didnt have much of a reason when I have the internet at work (God I MUST be in the running for employee of the year now)!!!
However if the Lee Banter is as good in the evening as the posts last night suggest I might have to ignore Ploppy even more and join in!
Im very jealous that you all seem to be on your second round of tickets when I have not actually got ANY yet but how bad do I feel?
My little sister (who actually drew my attention to Lee in ADWD) brought my Mum and Dad tickets for September for their anniversary and I went on so much about him when I was there last weeks they have given me the tickets!! I feel bad and that but its for a good cause seeing as though they wouldn't know the curly one if he delivered their milk in the morning - mmm now there's something to wake up to!! Anyway you cant chose your family so they are stuck with me anyhow!
I have obviously missed out on a major section of Loppy-etiquette here but can I ask about the basis of the Lee/Josh Groban connection?
Aud - welcome and Im so jealous - if for any reason your suppliers have another ticket or someone cant go - Im pretty sure I can make myself free but have a love-lee time!
I havve not lost weight at all - whether it be Mr Mead or the wedding but Im hoping something amazing will happen within the next 5 weeks like I develop a complete hatred for all food and drink - hmmm maybe not!
I cant remember who raised this but its an excellent point and I too was wondering if Lee knew about this site? I think its likely that he does or will and then I suggest we all change our names and book into Mead Meadows for a very long stay!
Love the idea of the classes with Lee to get us motivated - how about one on one salsa of an evening?
If Lee does find this site - hi and well done - please dont be afraid we just all think you are very talented and extremely nice looking and we have enjoyed all of the entertainment you have provided.
We are all really normal and have no more idea than you do of how we became like we are now but we wish you all the best! x

Thanks Shirlee - feel much happier here - it is "home" for us Loppies. As long as Scott doesn't mind us taking over! I think I'll stay put and not venture out into unknown waters in future. Do hope the BBC do put out a dvd sometimes soon from the show and I also came up with a brainwave that perhaps they could produce a calendar of either ADWD or just of lee (preferablee of course) and sell it for Children in Need - sure to make millions!!

Off to the farm with playgroup today then swimming lessons after school, so it looks like I'll be meading several hours to catch up on all the comments tonight (there's been 12 more posts since I looked at breakfast time)!

Re downloading the performances from BBC's ADWD site, just right mouse click over the video title and Save Target As. That's what I did and I managed to save all of Lee's performances, plus the group ones. They save as .htm files.

Agree totally with everyone that it's not just about Lee's looks, it's his complete stage presence and voice that we're entranced by and long may it continue.

Right, time to pack the picnic and slap on a bit of suncream in the vain hope that we might just manage one single day without a downpour.

Had a 'quick' peek at all your comments before usual Thurs aerobics class. Getting v confused re archives, blogs, forums, polls etc etc. Mind is twirling (am blonde, you guessed it). This is our spiritual home (v big thanks Scott again) but if you all move over I will follow. I am yet another one who doesn't know how to download properly - have just about mangaged to Save Favourites on Youtube but unsure if they stay on there forever. Reallee mead a professional DVD!

I think it unlikely that Lee can stay ignorant of us for long. We are on his Wikipedia entry so he can't miss us. And if Lee does read this I would say ' Well done and congratulations. We really do want you to have a successful and happy life, and we certainly wont be chasing you screaming down the streets. If on the other hand you spot any mature ladies lurking in the pub or restaurant over the road from the stage door staring at you, then that could well be us.

Is that stuff about the new Steiff teddy for real? Does it come with curly black fur. I WANT ONE NOW.

Shirley, have you got any cd burning software? If you can get the one named after the Roman fiddler and it’s easy. You just click “make audio cd”, then locate the music files you want in the right of the window that opens and drag them over to the left. Arrange them in the order you want, click “burn” and all being well, that’s that.

You can also burn DVDs but that’s a bit different. I haven’t made a DVD of Lee yet, because I prefer the BBC recordings. I don’t know anyone else’s experience, but so far I’ve only been able to save a link to the recordings on the BBC Joseph site. I’ve done that with all of Lee’s songs, so at least I don’t have to go searching for them. (Just read Gillian’s and Fiona’s comments before posting. I can’t keep up).

Carol, I like the idea of a calendar, but that means we have to wait until January!

The calendar could be for the academic year - that starts in September?
Thanks for all your help Loppies, I will be brave and have a go. Unknown technology vaguely frightens me, but am very well motivated to get on with it now.

Elisa & Fiona thanks for the info re saving the files - will try this on the home computer as soon as I get back (not sure I could get away with downloading them onto the office one).

Shirley I do hope the story about the bears is true cos like you I WANT ONE NOW (but only if Lee is singing on it!).

Perhaps we could two calendars - one out now with just Lee on it to cover the next 18 months and another one with shots from ADWD - Lee and some of the shots from the company nos. for instance .... like Under Pressure etc. It would be a sell out!

I can't beleeve how many posts we've managed on here since the Diana comcert. Do you think that brief tantalising glimpse of Lee has got us all fired up with even more enthusiasm (if that's possible) than before?

If Lee does read this, please don't be worried at all. As had been said before we admire your talent and personality, and are enjoying being able to watch you career really take off. We are all quite normal, sane people, who are happy for you that everything is going so well. Although clearly autographs/ signed photos are always appreciated!!

Morning Loppies and welcome to those who are new too! Hope you feel at home soon here!!! (sorry this is a long post)

had to read all your comments this morning couldnt wait till lunch! again agree with all your comments, especially the happy for lee ones and please lee we are normal, honest!!!. must admit im a tad confused about the RUG blog thing, but please please please if we move will you keep me updated, I like it on here tho and is scott doesnt mind hope he lets us stay.

The thing tho is im off work next week, we werent planning on going away anywhere so i was safe in the knowledge i may have at least one chance to sneak on here. But last night fella said I need some sunshine I cant stay here in this weather for a week, so off he went and did his fab thing on internet and hopefully we are either going to italy or portugal depending on which villa is free so are waiting with baited breath today to hear from them!!
Of course I am very pleased that we may get away its def what we both need, a lazy week in the sun, but oh my god my first thought was, no internet (well other half will have his laptop with him as since he has to be contactbale all time for our business but i cant come on here!!)wont beable to see the reviews etc etc, and i'll miss all the action on here!! - how am i going to cope!! will just have to send my good luck vibes through my fellow loppies and plan on doing no work when i return when i play loppy catch up!!!!

My second thought was oh crap i havent been on a beachy hol for 2 years, have a distinct lack of shorts and god knows if the little bikini i was happy to wear 2 years ago fits now, as i progress into my later 20's i have a few extra curves than i did 2 years ago!! hmm i think the morning off tomorrow may be needed to get a few essential bits!! i'll keep you posted!!

Didnt go to ballet last night, tho for a valid reason! Other half had said we would go to friends sons school band concert, it was actually really good and I even managed a few loppy dreams, when 'king of the road' was played it made me think how good lee would be singing it in his own distinct style with a bit of tongue in cheek sexy cheese. and my second loppy moment was when they did 'one moment in time' well thought lee would be great at that!

well done craig too will read the article later, so pleased for him he seemed such a nice guy!! well deserved!!!

Well done Miri getting the ticket sorry I am a bad influence!!, feel im not a true loppy with my one set of tickets, am going to set up a visit to see my friend tho in london next year for def tho, or a girly wknd with my only single friend as she will appreciate Mr mead Im sure, (though i think her heart belongs to james martin!!) , and the wknd away too!

right best get on with the ususal pre holiday pile of work and organisation, why do we go away again when it is such a hassle to get organised work/home wise initially!!??

back later on x

I love the idea of a bear and I already have a loveLee calendar. My kind Dutch friend made me one as a pressie - a whole 18 months of Mr Mead!

I believe she has a software package that does it all for you - you just have to select the photos. If anyone wants the name of the package, let me know and I'll ask her. She made me a lovelee calendar of my other passion in life (The Onedin Line) last year and just before her visit asked if I wanted a new one of Onedin or Lee - sorry Anne & Peter but I chose Lee.

Happy hols to everyone away next week.

Elisa my tickets are stalls row U seats 3 and 4, really appreciate if you could give me the heads up and put my panicking mind to rest!!l

One last thing before I immerse myself in work, whilst i was driving to work with my rather dodgy recording of lee, it made me think that lee shares the same something as a certain AUstralian Musical theatre dancer and singer Adam Garcia! who i have a soft spot for i must admit!! though Lee is way way better!!!! we just have to see him dance to hi sfull potential tho!!!

Speaking of photos I have this mental question. If I were to be going to see Lee and get him to autograph one photo for me which one would I chose. Bear in mind that this is going to be framed and hung on the wall. I keep thinking it would have to be a capture from the Daydream believer, a tortured brooding one from Paint it Black or the wonderful smile when he walks back along the gantry ready to sing after winning ADWD. That smile is something else, but on balance think I would opt for Lee not wearing a Joseph coat

Louise
You have fantastic taste - Adam Garcia is very nice and he is currently in Oz or The Wiz or something in the West End too!
What a weekend of drooling you could have :-)
Have a fantastic holiday!

Love the bear idea, and the calendar idea - are you ladies in marketing? I think you can get the calendar software off Kodak or Bonus Print sites. I'm sure I've seen that on offer on one of them.
We're on Wikipedia?? Crikey! I love being a Loppie. I just feel so normal... ahhh. Thanks Scott.

About the bear - when Steiff launched the Phantom Bear earlier this year I know for sure they were talking about doing more collaborations with RUG, and two possibilities were mentioned - Maria from Sound of Music, and Joseph. Steiff spent gadzillions of euros investing in the voice activated MP3 tecnhology so they're going to want to recoup that asap. I think it's quite likely that a new bear will be released in time for Christmas, but whether it will be Maria or Joseph I really don't know. If I do find something out I'll share with my fellow loppies at once.

Shirley, I'm in full agreement about that mega-watt smile when Lee had just won and was getting ready to sing - it is pure sunshine and just looking at it makes me feel happy even when I'm feeling really low.

Oh, here's a thing - I went to see Phantom last December and a few days ago I decided to take a look at the programme to see if Lee was in it then. He was - playing the very small part of a policeman in the Opera House. There's a pic of him in the programme without his trademark curls, so glad he's allowed them to grow back now. So I've seen him perform on the West End stage without being aware of his existence - it seems so strange now.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome and glad I helped convince Auds to join in too. I'm totally jealous of all of you with not one but two tickets when I don't even have one! How do I convince sister/friends to make trip from Scotland to London when they have no idea why I feel this way (let's face it, I hardly know myself) ...... they already think I'm in a crazy world of my own anyway and this could just be the proof they're looking for! I'm thinking I may have to find new friends/sister from the Loppie team :o) Any suggestions would be greatly received!!
