First off, apologies for the lack of a full review for last week. It was a culmination of bad things — my Sky+ box decided that it doesn’t want to work any more, while I was out at a Christmas theatre show, so I got to see neither one of the more controversial dance-offs of the series, nor Vincent and Flavia’s Argentine tango. Gutted.
Anyway, it’s semi-finals week this week, with each of the remaining three couples doing their one remaining dance from the Strictly repertoire, plus an Argentine Tango. Given Flavia’s expertise in the latter, one can only hope that Matt fares better this week than he did last. Only not too much, as I still want a Gethin/Alesha head-to-head in next week’s final.
As usual, score sheet below — see you after the shows!

Scott of course we understand, and realise too that you were busy with another project......
Fingers crossed for Gethin!!!
Scott dear,- it's just as well you've got us to do your job. We don't mind if you quote us!! Score card printed in readiness for tomorrow. I said earlier that if Letitia was sent home, I would start voting for Gethin. Hope he goes on as he has started. I just wish that I could like Camilla, but I never did, and still don't.
I'm ready and waiting.
And I'm rearing to go !
and me too...
And a very belated - me too.
Alesha Dixon & Matthew Cutler, quickstep:9
She certainly know how to pace the steps,- quickly, elegant and difficult.
Matt di Angelo & Flavia Cacace, argentine tango: 7
It was mechanical, not sizzling.
Gethin Jones & Camilla Dallerup: paso doble: 10
That was raw and GREAT!!!!!
Alesha Dixon & Matthew Cutler: argentine tango: 9
That was naughty !!!
Matt di Angelo & Flavia Cacace: waltz: 10
Yes, Matt, you show 'em!!!
Gethin Jones & Camilla Dallerup, argentine tango: 8
No Gethin, not good enough.
Wasnt here in time to do score sheets and things sorry. My reaction is that the final based purely on tonight should be between Alesha and Matt. Not quite sure why Gethin didnt quite do it for me, but there was just a tiny something missing. But it is a great shame that there are only 2 couples in the final. They are all worthy of a place.
Alesha and Matthew (Quickstep). Loved start and then the energy, the fast complicated footwork and the bounce. The music did it no favours though. Dress odd too. 9.
Matt and Flavia (Argentine tango). He seemed to remember the steps, but where was the passion? Also his legs and feet seemed not to be moving properly for the Argentine tango, too something (CRH said sticky). Remembering Ramps from last year, which was hot. 7.
Judges scores for Matt, no way, were they feeling sorry for him after last week?
Gethin and Camilla (Paso doble). Loved the drama, music was good choice. Loved the suit (down Auds). Gethin looked very masculine. I did see one hand fumble when they were joining up again. 9.
Alesha and Matthew (Argentine tango). Passion? Get a room. Lovely start, middle and end. Dress and music really went with the dance. 10.
Matt and Flavia (Waltz). Romantic, not so much rise and fall as we’ve seen from others. He got all the steps again. He did well. 9.
Gethin and Camilla (Argentine tango). Not certain, I did like it but find hard to comment, maybe too moody for my usual taste. 9.
Hello Shirley, welcome home !
Tonight was difficult. I didn't like their argentine tangos. I still have that picture of Ramps in my head, when my telly nearly melted. There was nothing like that tonight. But Matt really is the Come back King with that waltz. It was soooooo beautiful, and I loved Gethin's quickstep.
Alesha,- well I gave her two nines. I couldn't get fired up, like with her Vienesse waltz last week.
Dance off: Hard to say, but I think it might be Alesha and Gethin.
Well, I'm voting for Alesha - because she's consistent consistent consistent. It's a tuff call this week. Agreed really will all the judges comments/scores -
A&Ms quickstep - fabulouse; Arg Tango - delicious but soft.
M&F Arg Tango - cool and smooth; waltz - wow
G&C first dance great but didn't capture as I've come to expect from G. Arg Tango - loved loved loved it.
Hi Shirley, good to see you back. Hope you're not too tired.
Eva, I agree, I can't watch Arg tango (or salsa) without remembering Ramps from last year. And Alesha and Gethin in dance off, should be Matt, but it won't.
Agree with you Jo4 that judges marked matt very sympathetically in his A. tango - thought gethin's was far better and yet only one mark difference. As others we all thought the A.tango's didnt live up to Ramps.
Overall i think final should be gethin and Alesha but a v close call.
Welcome back Shirley
Thought G&C's ATango was brilliant - all smouldering and lovely - thought it was the best of the three (and the AT isn't my favourite dance). Didn't like the Paso so much, but certainly thought the C&G's waltz when I was in the Cotswolds was much better than Matts and he got 40 for it!!! Has the world gone mad??? Wouldn't like to call who is going to be in the dance off......
Have to agree with Santa's Elf - have the judges gone mad!! 40 - that means perfection - how could Matt's dance be that? If he goes on to win I shall think the whole affair is a total farce! The other two finalists have consistantly performed well and to be knocked out by another who has basically 'lost it' on occasions would be totally unfair.
Dixy and Carol, agree. The judges complained that the voting public got it wrong earlier in the series. Now they have gone mad.
Back again. Let's see what the public decides today then. Btw. I saw in TV Times that Ramps will be back for the special Christmas edition of SCD. Can't wait to see him wriggle his hips again!!!! Sorry, am I lowering the tone here?
Eva-too right, I'm up for some hip wiggle.
Hooray Alesha is in final, that means the judges will save Matt, blast
Oh a dance off between the boys. Must be the right decision. Audience finally voting sensibly.
And Ramps to look forward to in the final. Eva, if you are lowering the tone I'm right with you.
Wow they are both stunning. Dont envy the judges this one...
CRH saves Matt, Arlene saves Gethin, Bruno saves Matt, Len saves (I think Camilla is going to faint) Matt. As I expected. Not what I would have done, but I'm not a judge.
Alesha to win next week.
I can't imagine how anyone can think James Blunt is sexy! Some of his music is OK, but a ladies man?????
The proffesional dancers who danced before JB was singing, were almost frighteningly good. How can anyone have such complete muscle and body control as the female dancer?
So it was Matt. I can't really fault that decision, because again his waltz was flawless. It will be an electric finale though, as long as Matt doesn't looses his nerve again. Good luck to both couples!
Dont know what to say. Both of them were so good. Would not have argued with the judges whichever way they voted.
Eva I agree there was good muscle control, but to me it was a bit more of a circus act than a dance. Sort of human juggling to music.
Oh Jo4,thats what I was thinking. Very impressive, but is it dancing???
Seems to me that Matt was put through on strength of one dance whereas Gethin has got better and better and had 2 very hard dances this week. I would have loved to have seen Gethin and Aleisha in the final, but at least for me now there is no contest....go Aleisha!
Totally agree Shirley, thought it was a bit more gymnastics...very impressive though.
Gree - Jo4 and Shiirley - acrobatics rathe rthan dancing - tho still impressive.
I will miss gethin and agree with you Pauline2. Why ddi judges just go on the one dance - in other dance offs they have said they have looked at overall performance trho series. I found that confusing cos def think gethin was better overall. Worried that matt's nerves will let him down and final will be anti climax but hopefully not. Been a brilliant series - tho still think Ramps has the edge.
Grrrrr! Gethin out in favour of Matt (I'm going to have stage fright so please all vote for me)! There is no justice in the world. Not going to watch anymore now - Matt should never ever have been voted through last week and then the final would (rightly) have been Gethin and Aleysha. Out of the two left in Aleysah should win but with the public voting as if it is a popularity contest rather than a dance contest, who knows!
Nana: All right -- dump them there on the floor. No one will ever think to look for them here.
Diva: You ok, S'Berry?
S'Berry: I'm fine, Diva. Takes more than a couple of boys and an old crone to scare me... D'you think the loppies miss us?
Diva: Of course they do, don't you fear. I just hope someone finds us in time to rumble the evil Capt. Kirk's plan and save the Intoxicatingly Beautiful Youth.
Nana: That was close -- I was sure they were going to find us. Whew! Good thing we moved them when we did. OK, just to make sure there are no more surprises, given them some more of that draught to make them sleep. We can't risk them making noise and drawing attention.
Boohoo: That's it, Pink-lady -- swallow it down.
S'Berry: Pfffth! That's as nasty as the CO's socks!
Diva: You tell him, Berry.
Keef: You're next. Swallow it.
Diva: Yeuch!
Nana: Good. That'll do the job.
S'Berry: I feel sleep....
Diva: Me too, g'nigh.....
Nana: Did you hear something?
Boohoo: I don't want to be caught, nana (sob!)
Keef: Shut it! They won't find us here, will they?
Nana: We have to be on the alert. You two take your place at the top of the blog. If anyone comes near these two will get it.
Boohoo: Nana, you wouldn't!
Nana: I've had it with these loppies! They're all fools not to love my darling boy better than L'Mead. Just 'cos he has curls and dark eyes and an amazing voice and a killer smile... What's that compared with my Boohoo's angelic looks? I tell you, they won't take us alive!
I had a dream! I deamt that I was kidnapped and kept behind the scenes in SCD. I was close to Ramps!!!!! and Gethin!!!!!! but no sign of GO(sob). It's turning into a nightmare. BooHoo wants me to like him better than GO and keep throwing me looks and stroking his blonde straw hair. Walking sideways like a crab. Keef thinks he can melt my heart by smiling at me!!! HEEEEEEEELP!OUCH!! BooHoo winked at me! He's trying to do a GO. It looks like a nervous tick. I wish someone would wake me up.

Nana: Give them some more of the stuff, boy. Can't have them drawing attention... Geesh, that old woman can wail!
Dreams come and go. I am trying to find a way out, but that horrible Nana Jean has got the place stitched up. Except....... the chimney. THE BL***Y CHIMNEY. If someone can come down a chimney, surely someone can go up one. I want to wake up!!!!

Nana: Sshhh, very quietly now, while they're sound asleep. I have a bad feeling we've been rumbled. Wrap them up in blankets so they don't wake in the cold air.
Boohoo: Where are we taking them, Nana?
Nana: Off this page to somewhere so remote even the cleverest loppy will never find them. I thought they would rumble us and attack before now, but since they're all napping, we have a chance to escape.
Keef: Will the Captain find us?
Nana: Don't worry -- we'll all meet together at the rendezvous.
Boohoo: These loppies are heavy. And this one's hat keep sticking in my eye...
Nana: I'll stick you in the eye if you start crying again. Keef, help him get those two loaded up. Right, off we go...
Drat and double drat, those dastardly fiends realised I was on to them and have disappeared again! I knew they were sneaky but how low can you get, taking advantage of the Christmas season when loppies are busy, ggrrr. Now thinking caps on, surely we can outwit these alien beings?
