Now that all our couples are competing against one another, it really does feel as if the competition has started in earnest, doesn’t it? Still, it carries on from now until Christmas, which I’m kidding myself is way, way off…
After last week’s mammoth 12-couple score sheet, I’ve streamlined this week’s a little. The dancers’ and Sunday dance-off score elements now fit back onto two pages, leaving page 3 for the leaderboard and a Strictly history of this week’s dances, the Paso Doble and the Viennese Waltz. Plus, there’s a plug for something that may be of interest as you’re planning for the aforementioned festive season…

If you’re looking for any Strictly Come Dancing-related Christmas gift ideas, check out our new store, powered by amazon.co.uk. You’ll find this year’s official annual, the new CD of music from the series, the DVD of the live tour and much more, including Len and Craig’s biographies, various “teach yourself” dance DVDs and more. If you, a friend or relative love Strictly and you’re looking for Christmas gift ideas, where else would you need to go?
After last week’s stats trivia fest, there’s not much new statistics-wise to report, except possibly that in the entire run of all the series (excluding, as ever, Christmas specials where everybody votes as if they’ve had a little too much sherry), so far the judges have awarded 12,499 points between them over the course of 443 competitive dances.
No surprises for who has awarded the fewest points (Craig, with 2,857). Arlene is third with 3,041, beaten by Bruno with 3,263 and Len with 3,338.
All those stats mean that Craig will, with the next lift of one of his voting paddles, award the 12,500th point in Strictly Come Dancing history. Let’s just hope that the dance in question is good enough to merit a few more points on top…

Thanks Scott score sheet at the ready! The Norwegian jury is having technical difficulties at the moment and might not make it!
Thank you Scott dear - pencil poised and all ready!
All ready.
OK we're off:-
Lisa & Brendan - Paso - well it was very good, but somehow I was expecting a bit more. Had drama but somehow no passion from Lisa. Dress was gorgeous Didn't like the music so much... 7 I think.
Andew and Ola - Viennese Waltz - nice start. Love Ola's dress - not bad, much better than before. Obviously they've really worked hard, and there is something endearing about him. Giving it a 7.
Christine and Matt - Paso - another lovely dress. Didn't like the music to this one either. Again feel there is someting lacking. Another one without drama. Didn't do it for me. 6 from me.
Austin & Erin - Viennese Waltz - nice posture, nice positions. Lovely turns, nice hands. Giving this one 8 I think. Loved the music and the dress (not Austin's of course!).
Cherie & James - Paso - now that looked really spanish - bit more aggresive would have helped it. Needed a bit more grip! Felt passion missing from this one too. 7 I think.
Heather and Brian - Viennese waltz - lovely dress - lighter on her feet this week - much better. Another 7.
Mark and Hayley - Paso - he's doing better than before -oops lost it there I think, I spoke too soon - he's out with the music (which I don't like!). He tried so hard, bless. Liked Hayley's dress. It's a 5 from us.
Tom and Camilla - Viennese Waltz - love the dress! Oh just wonderful. This is a 9 - loved it! Beautiful! Beautiful!
John & Kristina - Paso - wardrobe doing very well with the dresses this week. Oh dear. Kristina doing a master class in the passion and drama that has been lacking in the celebs, but oh dear - John. He's a sweetie and I love him, but..... sadly a 5 for John and a 9 for Kristina.
Rachel and Vincent - Viennese - stunning dress, lovely start. Vey tender. Very romantic. Giving it an 8.
Jodie & Ian - Paso - yet another stunning dress - think that the paso has been disappointing this week. Thought this was as a good if not a little better than the others. Giving it an 7.
Difficult to say who might be in the dance off, but feel Mark may be, JOhn should be .......but then who knows who the public will vote for.
Lisa & Brendan Paso Doble. I liked that. Loved Brendan’s little kicks and jumps. Lisa was strong and seemed to have all the steps. Her hands could have finished a bit better. In all I thought it was good. 8.
Andrew & Ola Viennese Waltz. Top body swaying a bit, but did not look ‘right’. Couldn’t see if bum was tucked in due to coat tails. Looked better. I thought it was a little jerky at times, not a flowing as some we’ve seen in the past. It was quite a slow one, so did that make it easier. Much better. 7.
Christine & Matthew Paso Doble. Loved the dress, weird music for it. She didn’t seem angry enough. I’m not sure about it. She seemed to get the steps. 7.
Austin & Erin Viennese Waltz. Lovely proper Viennese Waltz, no messing, so relaxing for viewer. A couple of skips, but who cares. Couldn’t take my eyes off them. 9.
Cherie & James Paso Doble. (Finally I’d been waiting for it, mention of the coffee commercial, has it waited until now because Don is doing them now?) Lacked a wow, but good. Bit shaky at the start. Rest was proficient, but missing a bit of gggrrrr needed for the dance. 8.
Heather & Brian Viennese Waltz. Couldn’t stop looking at the dress, wow, wow. Too much messing at the beginning, NO to the shoulder shake, NOT in the VW. Apart from that she did well the ‘proper’ bits. 7.
Mark & Hayley Paso Doble. The chest shouldn’t save him this week. The ‘aggression’ seemed to translate to stiffness in his upper body. And the Weepy leg action is back. 4.
Tom & Camilla Viennese Waltz. Another proper one. Mesmerising. Personally a touch fast for the romance of the dance I got from Austin & Erin. I think the speed of the dance made for ‘loose’ foot steps. 8.
John & Kristina Paso Doble. A John version. At least he seemed to be in time. Well performed for his style of dancing. 5.
Rachel & Vincent Viennese Waltz. When it got going it was. Funny kicks in the middle. She looked like a little doll in a musical box. 8.
Jodie & Ian Paso Doble. (Sorry Brendan, Ian is the Paso king this week.) White, what a change of view. I thought it was very dramatic. The performance of it hit the spot. 8.
Lisa/Brendan Very good but lacked fire for me 7
Andrew/Ola So much better, still not brilliant 6
Christine/Matthew Very flobby up top, by far her
weakest 6
Austin/Erin Ooooooo loverly!!! 9
Cheri/James Beautiful lines but a shame about
the start, unnerved her 8
Heather/Brian Much much better. How vile can
Craig get? 7
Mark/Hayley Not great, but not such a car crash! 5
Tom/Camilla Just loverly as well! Difficult, but
Austin was better 8
John/Christina Well he gets the steps right!!! 5
(but 10/10 for charm!!)
Rachel/Vincent Good, I felt she was a little
bouncy at times? Maybe not but
didn't move me. 7
Jodie/Ian She looks fantastic! Thought her
knees a bit bent, but not bad. 7
All in all fantastic, Austin for me was the best, don't know who will be in the dance off though, should be John, but probably Mark and Heather or Jodie possibly.
I do not want to see Brian and Heather in the dance off. Cherie was the worst tonight. Almost seems the judges have made up their minds already. Here's hoping the GBP will not follw suit.
From The Norwegian jury by text:
'Made notes through SCD. (So she can post when technology restored). Tom is the best 4 me. I hope Mark is given his marching orders. Dreadful!'
That concludes the voting from The Norwegian jury
Scott I know you will be doing your review, but I had to post this about John's dance as it made me smile (not of course that your reviews don't make me smile some times).

Dance off - should be Mark and John, but who knows!
Well there you go John and Kristina still in! Oh well they got the Mark bit right but think Andrew did well this week -I assume the judges will vote for Andrew, but you never know! OH that Andrew did better than first time - oddly enough didn't look so nervous. OK Mark and Haley. Oh dear! No Andrew has the edge. Right decision I have to say. However please tell me why the audience saved John??
Well really should have been John, but he is so poppular, he has the Kate Garroway factor at the moment! Agree of the two Mark should have gone, lovely guy with very litle sense of rythm!
Hello,- the Norwegian Jury is late, but still in great form. Due to computer breakdown last week, I had to make my own score sheets (Not half as fancy as yours, Scott dear!), but here are my comments made as the dances unfolded on the screen:
1. Lisa & Brendan, paso double : 7
Costumes colours don't match! Something lacking,- not enough fire. Bad arms. Technically very clever.
2. Andrew & Ola, Viennese Waltz : a kind 6
Not bad,- his bum is where it should be. Simple routine.
3. Chrisitne & Matthew, paso double : 5
She is like a rag doll in his arms. No fir or aggression. A real bull would have flattened her in 2 seconds flat!
4. Austin & Erin, VW : 9
Beautifully floatingly lovelly!
5. Cherie & James, paso double :7
Something happened at the beginning. No,- sorry Cherie, no. Elegant,- but we don't want elegant here!
6. Heather & Brian, VW : 7
Beautiful dress. It is the best she's done so far.
7. Mark & Hayley, paso double : 3
Puuuuuuurleeeeeese! Let him go! He can't even WALK in step!
8. Tom & Camilla, VW : 9
He's dancing on air! The hold a bit sloppy?
9. Johm & Kristina, paso double : 4
Awful dress (Kristina, not John!) Dragging a bale of hay, John? I think the bull would have died laughing!
10. Rachel & Vincent, VW : 8
She is very gracious.
11. Jodie & Ian, paso double : 8
She looks great. The best paso double of the night.
As you can see from my comments, I wanted Mark to go. Fortunately he did. I can't see John last more than tops two more weeks, but he's had me laughing out loud, and he deserves points for that! The difference from last year's debacle with Kate (?) Garraway, is that she was whining and moaning through it all, while John is having a ball and making us all love him!
