OOOO am I really the first? As had a spare moment thought I'd catch up with all the goss. Glad your problem was only a little one Eva - caught in time. And enough money left over for tickets. That's the best.
Glad you're feeling better Carol.. you need to be in fine voice for the show.
Going to miss CiN - I'll be at Leonard Cohen concert... in GOOD seats this time! Will have to see if I can remember how to use the video tape recorder????
Thanks for the Score Sheet Scott Dear. Going to catch up now on your reviews.
Scott dear,- thank you. I was just thinking earlier that things seemed to slow down, even if we hadn't made one thousand posts.
Aaaawwwwwww,- Scott dear,- you have mentioned both us and GO in the same sentence.
I see On The Beach by Nevil Shute is being broadcast on Sunday. I read the book and saw the film YEARS ago and loved both. I had a periode where I breezed through all Nevil Shute's books. I think my favourite was " A Town Like Alice". That was also filmed.
A link to Nevil Shute. His original last name was Norway!:
http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/nshute.htm
Thanks for the new home Scott! Aw 'Resident Loppies' I love that!
Eva, glad the problem was only a minor one.
Geri and Karen2 - have a lovely evening.
I'm going to spend some time with Ploppy.
See you tomorrow Loppies - enjoy the trick & treaters!
Eva - I loved NS as well - I think I devoured all his books, lets see, it couldn't have been all that long ago, I was just out of my teens. My favourite one was (of course I cant remember the title now) about Burma. I'll check out the link later - on way out of office now.. See ya girls.
Evening all
Thanks for the new home Scott.
I have just had such a laugh on the way home from work. You'll probably think I'm really awful but I just couldn't help it. I was walking along the road to home, it was very dark and the Trick or Treaters were out in force. As I was approaching the drive of a neighbour I could see a young lad (from his size I'd day he was in his mid teens) dressed up in halloween gear and wearing the Scream mask, coming down the drive. I realised he couldn't see me and that we were going to bump in to each other, so I stopped, off to the side at the bottom of the drive to let him come out. As he reached the bottom of the drive he was looking in the opposite direction and only turned towards me when it was too late and I couldn't move out of the way. So he turned round and there I was, right in his face. He squealed and jumped so badly he almost fell over!! Big lad in a scary mask, scared out of his skin. It was so funny!! Or maybe it's just my warped sense of humour!
Anyway, I have a little story to tell you, quite appropriate for Halloween. This didn't happen to me, for a change, it was my Sloppy. An old and very dear friend of Sloppy's died last week. Sloppy has keys for her friends flat as she used to look after it (draw the blinds. water the plants) when the friend was on holiday or on one of her frequent hospital stays. When she died the friends daughter asked Sloppy if she would keep the keys for a while and keep going to the flat to draw the blinds, to make it look as though it wasn't uninhabited, untill they get chance to clear the flat. The first couple of nights after the friend died Sloppy went down and everything was okay, although she did feel a little unnerved as the friend died actually in the flat. On the third night Sloppy went in, the hall light was on. Sloppy just thought she'd left it on by mistake. The fourth night the hall light was on again. Sloppy knew she hadn't left it on this time so rang the daughter to ask if any of the family had been down. Daughter said that no, none of them had been. Fifth night, Sloppy goes in, hall light is off, phew she thinks, only to find the kitchen light is on. Sloppy quite spooked by now. Sixth night, the hall and kitchen light are off but the bedroom light is on! Sloppy legs it out of there as fast as her little sixty nine year old legs will allow her. She sends in back up (Dad) to investigate and check for signs of break in, or of anybody being there, nothing!! Sloppy quite worried by now so decides to ring the daughter to tell her what's going on. Just as she's about to ring, by sheer coincidence the daughter rings Sloppy with the explanation. Turns out the son of the friend had been to the flat and installed timer switches to switch various lights on to make it look as though someone was in!!!!! He'd just forgotten to tell anybody! Poor Sloppy thought either she was cracking up or her friend had come back to visit!!.
Right off to get a V&T and go back to the old home to see what's been going on today.
Evening all, I leave for a short while and come home to a lovely new home. Thankyou Scott.
Oh NS I used to love his books too My favourite was one about metal fatigue in the first jet aircraft. Don't suppose that is abig surprise though is it?! No Highway I think it was.
Right ITT on again in a minute so will be back later.
Thanks for the new home, Scott. The old one was taking a while to load.
Sadly I think Friday Night is Bond Night is a different programme to the concert at the Palladium where Lee sang FRWL so doubt very much if he will be heard in the broadcast.
I read several of Nevil Shute's books years ago - the first time I read Town Like Alice I balled my eyes out. Lovely book. I thought the TV series with Helen Morse and ? - can't remember the actor's name at the moment (Australian, married to Rachel Ward and was in Cocktail opposite Tom Cruise), was better than the film.
Just turned my calendar over - two B&W gorgeous pics from HMV.
W*rk is - well I'd better not say. Next week's not going to be any better either. Have a good weekend.
News that Joseph has extended to next summer but no mention of who is playing Joseph
http://www.show-and-stay.co.uk/theatre-news/joseph-and-les-miserables-extend-in-the-west-end-20245.html
Thanks for the photos Jo4 and Martin - brings back happy memories!
Eva - good to see you're feeling better. Sorry to hear about your leak but glad that is wasn't too bad.
Thanks for the links about CiN Pauline and Carys - I wonder, does the way they've said "Lee Mead and Denise Van Outen" mean that they'll be performing together!
Diana - I think it was Bryan Brown.
At last some news of Joseph past Jan Diana, though See are still not booking past the 10th.
How confusing all these JB concerts are.
Wasn't Bryan Brown in Tenko too?
Karen I love your ghost stories for Halloween! Can't see why you would frighten that kid though, you don't look at all scary to me!
Yes I wondered that, sort of thing they probably would do something together I would think.
Must do the ohhhmmms for those in need , JaneE and Linx ohhhhhhhhhhhmmmms for your colds and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmms Carol is better soon as well.
KK strikes again, this time to someone else.
Eva glad you found out where the water was coming from. Years ago I had a leak in the bathroom. Never found out where it was from, so just had new pipes put in, solved the leak.
Scott, we're 'resident' now are we? You've come to the conclusion we're not going. Why would we, when we get a lovely new house every few weeks, so no cleaning (yes I said the word) ever. Thank you for this new one, love the carpets (so much warmer than wood floors, I think).
I'm off to do more photos.
Another one here that loved the Neville Shute books, I think I have read nearly all of them.
Karen my neighbours have come in to tell us they are off to Bradford for the weekend to see an old friend, I have told them to pop in and have a drink with you, is that OK???????
Gas people still working in the street, I shall pop out and see if they want a drink later.
Diana,- Bryan Brown was also in The Thornbirds where he played Rachel Ward's first husband. I think that's where they met.
Jo4,- You know I disagree with you about the carpets! Next time, can we have the wooden floors back, please? Jo4's animals just have to learn to skate properly!
Karen,- your poor Sloppy! I hope the "helpful" bloke was given someone's piece of mind!
Your story about you scaring the Halloween prankster invites so many funny but rude comments, that I'd better not bite!
Ooo New Home! Thank you Scott!!! Very cosy and warm in this rather chilly weather! Aunty Eva glad the leak was easily solved and not too expensive! Karen loved the story of your poor Sloppy (well and the one where single handedly you fought bck against the over age Trick and Treaters!!) - she must have been really spooked. Having a night in with feet up, large glass and a take away! Going to watch the last WitB later and then an early night. Keeping meaning to ask - at the end of the last series of Spooks we didnt' know if (forgotten her name) was dead or not. Presume the new series will have resolved that - so was she dead??
Aw Pauline, thank you. Obviously Eva doesn't agree - go on Eva, bite, I can take it!!
Jill - of course your neighbours should call in for a drink - you know me, I always keep a well stocked bar!
Well, Karen, since you insist:(but remember, it's done with the best possible intentions!) My first thought was: The poor beggar thought you were wearing a mask! See, I told you it was rude! And then my second thought was: You can't say that. Karen has a lovely face!
HaDeeHaHaHa Eva - I guess I asked for that, Stick with your second thought - that works for me!!.
Ploppy and I have just re-lived our youth - no, not like that!!. We used to go to a wine bar called McFly's (long before the teeeny bopper band of the same name existed) and they served a lunch of various cheeses, pates and crusty breads along with marinated onions and mushrooms. I have just re-created this meal, washed down with a nice chilled bottle of PG. It was lovely! I feel 21 all over again (only six years agp!!).
Oh, and I took my mask off for the duration of the meal too!!!!
Karen,-Oh, I'm glad you took your mask off! It wouldn't do to scare your Ploppy off! I'll hold on to that second thought.
Wire In The Blood is starting. See you later.
Thanks Scott for the lovely new home.
Pleased to see you've got over your migraine Eva and that the leak wasn't too bad.
Karen that sounds a lovely meal. Are there any leftovers? Feel sorry for your Sloppy.
Thanks for the links Diana.
Pleased that you are feeling better Jane and Carol.
Night all.
...watching the ever gruesome WitB! Was trying to work out where the police guy replacing Alex had been seen before - then it came to me - he was in MM - the policeman after Troy and before Harry - can't remember his name! His hair is different but it's definitely him!
Carol,- you're right. Clever you. Remind me never to get on the wrong side of a Japanese!
Thanks Karen, firstly for BB and secondly for giving me a much needed laugh. Your poor Sloppy; if it had been me, I would have got someone else to go in after the second time.
I haven't seen Spooks yet, Carol, but from next week's Radio Times I don't think she's dead. I've been wondering about that too!
Evening all, thanks for the new home Scott.
Good news about our boy being on the telly soon.
Eva, glad you’re feeling better, and you got the leak sorted without too much trauma.
Oh Karen your poor sloppy, I don’t know that I’d have gone back after the fourth night!!
Lots of trick and treaters about, luckily I’m at my old lady’s and she lives behind a set of huge gates so we don’t get any knocking at the door. Halloween has become much bigger here over the last few years. When I was at the old folks home we used to turn the day into a party, just for a bit of entertainment as much as anything, we did the same with Valentines Day, and we used to struggle a bit for decorations, but there is a massive amount of stuff in the shops this year. All the big stores seem to be doing dress up clothes for the kids.
Hope all poorly Loppies are feeling better soon. 19 SLEEPS TO THE BOXFEST!!!!! Nite nite Loppies. x

So good, I knew you'd want to read it twice!!!!!
Can anyone tell me why I'm still blue, when everyone else is red????
Just seen trailer for CiN, ahhhh so sweet.
I'm doing some 'stuff' hopefully send email soon.
Just been on the phone to a friend forever, her call so I don't mind!
Carol, Diana I think you mean Jo? If so no she isn't dead, just pretending.
Did well tonight, only one trick or treater. Unusual for round here we normally get lots.
Sue - you just like to be different! Well that was a rather strange end to WitB! Presume we will be getting another series next year! OK off for an early night and some light reading. So Sweet Meads all.
Sue1,- from where I'm sitting, you're red! Of course, we always read your posts twice/
Jo4,- I take it GO was in that trailer? I haven't seen any yet.
Diana,- it sounds as if you've had a bad week at work. Hope your weekend is better. Maybe you need another dose of GO?
Evening all. Eva I love Nevil shute have read and got all his books, read loads when i was expecting blllll.... years ago.
Thank you for our beautiful home scott.
Eva so glad you are feeling better. Boxfest hey no chance xxx hope youwill have a good time now there is a silly phrase .... as if you would not!.
OH so you think the Go is not going to be in it this Bond thingy. oh what a shame.
Been busy posting ,banking and ordering prints some are on they way already.
Donna has sent me a text as hshe heard from Jo to let all know about the breast Cancer concert that lee is taking part in. But I think we all know about it already Nov 9th at the Savoy Theatre.
Went for a quick shopping today food that is did not need much ... result.... over a 100 quid.......so much for not needing much! mind when i look not that much there either.
Ninite all sweet meads.xxxxxx
I've had an odd sort of a day. I found out this morning that my application for early retirement was unsuccessful and I'll have to wait another three and a half years before becoming a lady of leisure. So, deciding that I needed a little treat, I went online to try to find a golden ticket for a certain event on 10th January next. I've just booked a deal for two nights at the SP and a ticket to THE show. I've no idea what part of the theatre I will be in but I don't care. I had such a good time at the Octoberfest, I just want to be there to soak up the atmosphere.
I think now I'll try to book to see Jessie Buckley in A Little Night Music. Afterall, I must support local talent.
Geri and Karen2 - sorry I missed you tonight but traffic was horrific. Trust you enjoyed the play.
Jenny Dublop
Jenny, shame about your early retirement. No wonder at 27 it would be way too early. Another for 10th Jan, see you there!!
Nearly done email soon
Oh great Jenny, glad you'll be there on the 10th. sorry about the early retirement bit, I can highly recommend it!
Still the money isn't as good.
Bedtime so night night all sleep tight.
Jenny,- a January meet, both with Go and with us, will be the perfect antidote to your disappointment. Looking forward to seeing you there. Quite a few of us will descend on the capital on the 9th, staying at the SP.
I understand from your post that two of the Dublops were out on the tiles tonight? Maybe we'll get a rapport tomorrow.
Chantale,- isn't it lovely all of us remembering the Nevil Shute books. I think he's almost a forgotten author nowadays. Maybe the play on BBC radio can stir some interest again?
It's time to say good night to you all. Sleep tight, have wonderful dreams and wake up happy.
Kitten has done her stuff, check your emails
So it transpires that the Bond concert with Lee is not the same concert that's on Friday night. Sorry about that -- I'll update the post with a correction.
Apologies to anyone whose hopes I may have raised through my error...
oh B****R - long post disappeared into the ether!!
So I'll just Hi and Bye now... sweet meads one and all! 19 more sleep :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
And then when I tried to send this it kept telling me I needed to have my email address.. but I was already signed in??? Loads of weird things happening to me today on the computer!! I shan't take it personally. And I'll just comment anonymously...
I'm downloading the last ep of Hairspray but it's taking forever so will leave the PC on overnight and hope it goes OK. Don't like to do that as I know two people whose PCs have caught fire!
Sorry you didn't get your early retirement, Jenny.
I forgot to say thanks for the PIB link last night Jo. Enjoyed that.
I'm off to bed too. Need to catch up on some sleep. Night all.
Now I've done my stuff I'm off, no time too pop in tomorrow morning as I've a 9am ride.
Nightlee night
Jo, seen you're stuff. Good to see another 'point of view' of the MM night. That was lovely to see again - and be reminded of a triffic weekend.
Morning all. Grey, windy and cold is the name of the day here. An indoor's day, methinks. I'm sorry to say that the house needs some TLC, so that's what I'll be doing.
My, Google Alert has been busy with us during the night. Scott dear, Karen, Diana and Carys have been mentioned so far. I think it was all the quotes from the papers about the Cancer Relief concert that did it.
Scott dear,- you are forgiven. Anyone can get confused with all the James Bond stuff going at the moment.
Hello sweetheart. I see you've wrapped up with a good, knitted scarf today. I don't blame you. I nipped out to the garage to start Mrs. Bosch, and a dressing gown wasn't really warm enough.
Oh, you've started a fire. How lovely is that? So what's for breakfast, then. Do I want a fried egg, sunny side up, with crisp bacon and toast? Sounds just the thing to start up the day. Then a large mug of the leaded stuff, and I'll be ready for the sofa in front of the fire with you at my side. We'll use the blue blanket, and while I eat, you can start the newspaper. Is there ANYTHING in there that doesn't concern JR, RB or the credit crunch?
Oh, I forgot to tell you about Pauline 2's generous offer the other day when I was down with the migraine. Since it was just after my last date with GO, she suggested that all the excitement of RowA and talking to Himself brought the migraine on. She therefore offered to take my upcoming RowA commitments off me and go herself instead. I ask you,- doesn't that show what a loving, caring heart she has? I think in my befuddles state I forgot to answer her, but I will now:
Pauline2, DAAAAAAAAHLING, You stay away from my Row A! (I was inspired by Jo4's video!)
Good Morning loppies.
Lovely sunny day here.
You made my start of day brilliant Jo thank you for the murder in Dublin oh boy how I wished I had been there, it looked enormous fun thank you for sharing it .
Sue1 what have I missed our boy on TV when????and in what??? missed a few bloggs I suppose. Please enlighten this stupid loppy!!!going in corner forthwith for not paying attention!
Good Morning BHB a strong coffee please make it a double expresso. thank you gorgeous one.
LOl Eva she was only trying to help Pauline is like that! ehehehe.
Yes I would be nice to have a revival of N.S books.
Years ago I listened to a town like Alice in episodes on radio I think it was still the Home service then.Ah yes forgot only 27!. It was really good.
Have a lovely day all see you later .xxxxx
Morning all
What a good start to the day. Ploppy had me in stitches before he went off to work, at something he said, I was laughing so hard tears were rolling down my cheeks. And then the MM videos had the same effect. I wish I could start every day like that. It's good for the soul.
Was bright and sunny here earlier but it's clouding over now.
Must go do some w*****g.
Have a good day all, whatever you're doing.
Morning all!
And thank you Jo - those MM videos brought back some brilliant memories!
Karen - that story about your Sloppy was so funny!
Diana - I hope next week turns out better than expected. Interesting news about Jo being extended.
And thanks for the info about the concert Chantale.
Jenny - well done getting a ticket for Jan 10th. sorry to hear about your early retirement getting rejected, but seeing as you're only 27...
Geri & Karen2 hope you had a great time at the play - do report back! Shame you missed them Jenny.
Auds, you really need to do the copy paste thing!
Well it's lovely nad sunny here. I'm feeling much better - thank you for the OHMMMS. OOOHHHMMMSSS for anyone who needs them.
OK now I have to help Ploppy install a dish washer we've been given.
Oh and and lovely day here too.. NOT. well at least it's not raining.
Breakfast menu sounds scrummy Eva - that along with a great big hug and snuggle with the BHB and I won't even notice the weather anymore. You go get the baby pink blanket BHB (what do you mean you keep that aside because you know JaneE loves that colour?) I'll take the hot chocotlates over to the fire and we can snuggle there. Don't worry, Eva's busy applying her TLC elsewhere.. and just You and Me, oh curly haired one.
Oops, I set the cat among the pigeons last night on LMAS - not seriously and not intentionally. Just posted a bit of misinformation, which I immediately noted that it might not be the 'real deal' but something weird was going on with the LMAS site when I posted - lots of google ads, because my post also made it's way across into another 'thread'. It was only when I checked the site again late last night and read Chantale's msg from Donna that I discovered all this.
Oh and Chantale, unwritten law of Loppydom.. we're not allowed to call ourselves or others 'stupid' - we may of course have blonde or (young)senior moments... but never that word.
Karen - had a really good chuckle at your 'trick or treat' moment with the young lad. His mates must have given him stick over that.
Got a lot of TLC to be getting on with of my own, and to make sure I'm well prefared for my little adventure tomorrow. I'm going to meet a very dear friend, one much admired by a pop star even, and I want to look my best and be properly sooted n booted. Tell you all about it after the event (don't want to tempt fate) and I’m quite excited.
Back to NS - I used to listen to the radio plays as well. I still can’t remember what the title was of that book, but I remember the music they played for the intro.. Debussy’s Claire de Lune – and that in turn had me gain interest in Debussy. My folks thought me a very strange child… my record collection ranged from Percy Sledge to Debussy..
Morning all, very grey day here too, much rather have the cold clear weather.
Eva, I'm wounded, I was only looking after your health and thought it was a very generous offer, very selfless of me. (fingers crossed firmly behind back.)
Love the videos Jo, looked so much fun, wish I'd been there.
I don't quite know how this happened but it seems my blue and pink blankets have been pinched, hummmm. Morning sweetheart. Yes I know it's a mystery to me as well. Just as well you look good in every colour really isn't it, so if we take the lilac blanket today I think, oh yes that's lovely, the colour on you I mean, the snuggle is heaven!
Forgot to ask earlier, with the news of the show extending - btw, and I know I'm probably on my own in this, but there's a tiny part of me wishes that Lee was staying. I know it's time for him to move on but I just can't imagine the show without him in it. I know that's not fair to the rest of the cast as they are all great too but, oh I can't explain so I'll shut up. Anyway, I digress, what I wanted to ask is, with news of the extension do you think there might now soon be an announcement about Himself?
Morning all. At long last I feel like a human being again. havent been unwell just not myself and totally cream crackered all the time. So havent been here for a while -havent even read emails or anything. But feeling back t something like top form again.
Ploppy away yesterday and girlfriend (mine not his) came over for night. I cooked a curry BUt my Thai friend kindly made the curry paste for me and when we both tasted the curry we decided we couldnt possibly eat it and live (even with loads of milk, yoghurt etc added). Luckily i had other food in fridge - and lots of PG blush. so we survived!
Ali - will read my emails now and reply - apologies for delay.
Eva - glad leak sorted and so efficiently. Love NS books. BTW - on my 4th Hennign Mankell book now - only good thing about feeling so listless was went to bed really early and read lots.
Jenny - sensible bosses - you are much too young for early retirement - and we look forward to helping you drown your sorrows/celebrate in jan.
I helped run a children's activity yesterday (90+ children) and many were in halloween outfits (even the babies) - so much more of a deal made these years - yet more expense.
Ok - off to read my emails. see you later.
Fi,- welcome back to the human race (read: Loppies!) We've missed you. Glad to hear you're yourself again. At least it sounds as if Wallander (hero in Mankell's books) has made you happy. Not that he is a laugh a minute, but you know what I mean.
I'm really looking forward to see what Kenneth Braghnan (sp?) will make of the caracter in the TV series starting soon.
Pauline2,- I know your offer was kindly meant (said without blushing), but I repeat: STAY AWAY FROM MY ROW A TICKETS!
Only one trick-and-treater here last night. A tiny tot with his mum and dad. I had of course forgotten it was THAT night, so hadn't stocked up. The little one was quite happy with a pound coin, though.
I think the whole Haloween palaver is rubbish, but then you know I'm old fashioned!
Auds,- I had to laugh at the total confusion your post caused on LMAS last night, but they eventually sorted themselves out, I think.
You going out with someone famous? Can't wait to hear the goss!
I had to do a quick drive to the chemist and drove along the seafront. Not a very inviting sight this morning! The waves were so high that Poppy was sprayed with sea water! Not a happy Poppy!
Yes, another new address.
It is very grey, cold and wet here as well. Leafs are falling of the trees. It all looks very sad outside so I will stay in today nice and warm.
Remember my blond moment this week. Do you think I can top that? YES, I CAN.
Yesterday my bicycle was stolen at the railway station. Now here comes the blond thing: …… because I forgot to lock it! This is of course not the first time this happens to me. Two years ago I have done exactly the same thing. I don’t dare to mention this to my family. Although it is going to be there first question to me if they see my new second hand bike. They know me so well.
Great to hear that Joseph is going on after Lee has left. I wonder who will be so brave to take over.
Nice to see that your are feeling better Fi.
Morning All
Great hilarity to be had on the blog this morning, I've made the old mistake of attempting to eat breakfast while catching up and as you can imagine have had to make a choice - read or eat, trying both would have been messy!
Have been in stitches at your videos Jo, along with the reminder of Maureen's one. What a fun night that was!
K1 - loved your halloween tales, had quite a chuckle at that teenagers expense but your poor sloppy, I felt a bit guilty, she did lose her friend so you don't want to laugh but you can't help it.
CiN night - I thought the same as you Karen, when I read the line up of performers, if that is the way it apperared then it seems as if Lee & DVO are being listed as one "act" so to speak - interesting....
And this is really weird about the announcement re the show's extension but I was only telling Geri last night that I had emailed Abbey Box Office, from whom I've bought most of my tickets, because their website has been showing available dates up to July 09 and it made me curious when SEE cut their show calendar off at Jan 10th. It seems as if someone knew something or else nothing was set in concrete.
I haven't yet got a response to the email but I have the answer now.
Jenny - so sorry you couldn't make it into town last night, would really have liked to see you and definitely to give you a big hug. But I have to say, I'm thrilled, thrilled, thrilled that you're coming on the 10th!
Geri and I had dinner (and a little incahol) and went to see a Brian Friel adaptation of Hedda Gabbler, which was, in my humble opinion, fantastic, I loved the story and thought the acting was excellent, it was difficult to pick a favourite because all the main characters were so good. The costumes and set were also beautifully done, but then I've found that any time I've been to The Gate. Had a lovely time.
Eva - good news re your leak, that it wasn't too bad, still haven't gotten around to getting a roof person to check mine out, partly not having time and partly sticking my head in the sand, I'm going to get this week's funeral over before tackling that.
Flying over to Watford on Wed and back Thurs night.
Must run, picking up sister and mum and going shopping. It's sisters birthday tomorrow and we're going to look for a new coat for her and have lunch out together. Then it's home and back to the books bigtime as I've an exam on Monday night.
If you're wondering where Geri is this morning, she has a tutorial today so she's probably already exercising those brain muscles!
ttyl!
ooooo- much excitement in my household (of one). My print has just been delivered by the postman - from Chantale. Thank you. Now how am I supposed to get on with the TLC?? perhaps a coffee break is in order?
Fi so sorry you haven't felt well. There are some funny viruses around at the moment. A friend of mine has been proper poorly all this week, she said everything hurt, even her eyes and her glands were up. She is now on the mend but has still felt better.
I'm really cross now, the postman apparently tried to deliver a parcel and I got the note saying I was out! I wasn't but was upstairs, didn't hear the bell so he can't have tried very hard. Worst of all I think I know what it is, thankyou Chantale, and I now have to wait until Monday to get hold of it. Sob and grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Ok Eva I get the message, I'll keep off your row A tickets, I was only trying to be helpful, honestly. (tee hee)
Glad you enjoyed the theatre Karen2, and thanks for the info re Geri I was beginning to worry about her.
Oh Anne how annoying about your bike, awful that everything has to be locked up all the time really.
Karen I know what you mean about the GO leaving, I think it is knowing where he is that's so comforting, however he must move on. I think promo for his albumn will be the next thing, so lots of tv hopefully, and he may talk then about what's next. It would be lovely if we did find out more earlier though!
welcome back Fi. Glad you're feeling more like yourself.
Jenny - forgot to say commiserations on the VERY early retirement situation, but just thrilled that you'll be with us on the 10th! Hurrah!
Karen - you're not the only one hoping he'll stay on- only because it's a guarantee that we can see him at our whim.. but of course he has to move on... (can't bear the thought of him having to cut those curls for ANY reason!)OK, now I'm just upsetting myself.
Anne - sorry about your bike.. but in my experience, if a rascal wants your bike, they'll take it whether it's locked up or not.
Jane - I thought that's what Ploppy's were for! Has he broken down and replacing himself with dishwashing machine?
OK - got better things to do now. Sit back with my coffee and stare at a picture. sigh.
nah Auds - my Ploppy is for doing the cooking - I'm the washer-upper in this house!
Karen - I wish the GO was staying on too (sniff)
Fi sorry you've been under the weather, hope you're back on form now and Anne sorry to hear about your bike.
Karen2 - glad you and Geri enjoyed yourself last night! Sound's fun!
I was going to say morning, then realised it's not. The weather isn't too bad here, I took the dogs round the man made lake near where I live, and it was gloriously sunny, it has gone a bit dull now, but the sun keeps making the effort to get through the cloud.
Thanks for the vids Jo.
Eva, I'm blue on my puter, along with Maggie and Martin. Poor Poppy, but I do think she's a lucky Poppy living so close to the sea.
Jenny, good news about the 10th, do let us know how Jessie performs, she was my favourite Nancy.
Karen, I agree with you about the show going on without Lee, I wanted it to be HIS show, and who on earth are they gonna get to fill his shoes??
Hi Fi, sorry you've not been feeling up to much, it's horrible feeling so lethargic, at least if you're ill it's something definite, but feeling kn***ered, is just as bad.
Oooooo Auds, what are you up to tomorrow?? Look forward to hearing about it. I think I may have upset the Forum too, I brought Maggie Ball's post (about the statuette) up to the top so more people stood a chance of contributing if they wanted to. I did it because I was so cross that Chantale got shot down in flames for mentioning it on another thread. Ohhh I'm glad I'm a Stage Loppy!!
Anne, sorry to hear about your bike, you must stop having these blond moments.
Karen2, good luck for Monday's exam.
Gotta go, promised I have MiL for dinner, as No1 Son is away.
Back later.
I thought we had put this old signing in behind us, but no......I had to do it all over again. Fortunately, I had copied my post, so here goes:
This housekeeping malarkey is a pain in the behind. As you know I've got a large behind, so that's a LOT of pain! Ah well, it's almost all done now,- the h*****g, the du****g, the cl****g so only some i****g to do tonight when it's dried.
Anne,- I remember some years ago, flying from Spain to Norway, we landed in Amsterdam where we had a 6 hours wait before our flight to Norway. We decided to take the train into the city, and outside the train station I saw a sight I've never forgotten. There must have been up to a hundred thousand bicycles parked! It must be a dream spot for any bicycle thief! Maybe you should just stick to your second hand one,- it's cheaper if it's nicked!
To avoid those blonde moments, maybe you should try some highlights?
Karen2,- I've seen Hedda Gabler several times, both on the telly and on stage in Norway. It is one of Ibsen's best plays, I think. Glad you enjoyed it.
Time for some lunch, I think, and then I'll do an Eva with a clean(!) consience after all that housework. Sorry,- that should be h****w**k!
Sue1,- you're still red on my pooter!
The grandchildren have now departed, we went to the Tower of L. on Thursday which they enjoyed despite my grandson asking suspiciously before we went "It's not educational is it?"
I've had a quick catch up,
Fi, glad you're feeling better and didn't blow your head off with the curry.
Eva glad you got your leak fixed,, watch out for that Pauline, she'll have those row A tickets off you given half a chance!
Auds, tomorrow sounds v. exciting, look forward to hearing more.
Loved the vid., Jo of the MM evening in Dublin, looked as though you were all quite enjoying yourselves.
Lucky you K2 and Geri, would like to see a Brian Friel version of Hedda G.
Sorry about your non retirement Jenny but great that you'll be there on te 10th.
I had a dream last night, Lee was learning his lines for his next part which seemed to be a very wordy straight play, I think it was his brother who was there too, also in the play but with a much smaller part. We were all sitting around a table and I was prompting but couldn't find the place in the script, it was all a bit hazy as dreams are, but I suppose it showa what has been on my mind lately.
Thank you so much for the print, Chantale, have emailed you.
Horrible day here - cold, dark and wet, really miserable.
Glad you're feeling better, Fi. Ohhhmmmms to those still poorly.
Sorry about your bike, Anne. I've been to Holland a few times and each time I forget about the cycle lanes and usually walk in them and nearly get mown down.
Have a good time tomorrow, Auds, and do tell all afterwards.
My tummy is telling me it's lunchtime so better make a sandwich and then some w*rk to do.
Well that was a fraught morning. Note to self - when Ploppy tries DIY - leave house!
Still the dishwasher is now installed - thanks to a helpful plumber!
I've been doing H-word too Eva - it's not fun!
Oh dear Sue, funny how people get het up isn't it?
Maeve - had to laugh about the Tower of London not being educational!
Auds have fun tomorrow!
lo, hello, I'm back, did you miss me? What do you mean, haven't I been here?
I've been very busily involved in the world of academe. I've been getting up at five am to get in a full hour's study before I head off to work, reading on the bus there and back, and at lunch when I can. K2 will tell you I even pulled my poetry book out during the intermission of Hedda Gabler.
The play was good and benefitted greatly from Brian Friel's interpretation. I really don't like Ibsen; he was a wretched excuse for a human being and was particularly unpleasant to women. It's strange that in Nora and Hedda he created two quite intriguing female characters, but I've always suspected that's because women were a complete mystery to him. Anyway, the production yesterday was excellent; brilliant sets and well acted. But why is it whenever I go to The Gate the set gets doused with blood? The last thing I saw there was Sweeney Todd... This production may end up on the West End so keep watch for it.
I'm just home from my first tutorial of the semester and it was fabulous. I got on great with the tutor and the class was lively and informative. Much as I loved it, though, I'm glad it's over because I'm really tired from the amount of studying I've done over the past week (those two weekends in London had to be paid for somehow). Anyway, I'm taking the rest of the day off.
Something really funny happened at coffee yesterday & I've been saving it to tell you about it. Jeremy was talking about grocery shopping and he said, 'What do you call those plastic bags you put your bananas in?' To which Graham replied, 'Condoms!' They're like a homegrown Morcambe and Wise.
I sent Chapter 9 to Jo yesterday but Jane tells me she's gone wandering off somewhere (sorry, just home from my tutorial so I haven't had a chance to see what's been going on yet). This chapter does come with a Parental Advisory. I don't, personally, think it's particularly naughty, but some people might. If it's not for you, please just skip it. Mind you, it's nothing to chapter 10 or, as Jane calls it, Chapter X.
OK, off to see what's been going on. Is Lee still at the Adelphi? Who's going to be the new Joe? Do we know what Lee's doing next? Is Bush still president..? Back later.
Oops I am my own worse enemy. Thought I better make up for lack of activity over last few weeks and have cleaned both ovens and made Christmas cake and am now k…..d again – and still have 3 weeks worth of i…..g to do. However really am tired so going to watch a certain DVD instead.
Funny how names/things crop up again and again when you have heard them once. I am ashamed to say never heard of Brian Friel until last week when talking to mayor of Belfast - not that I am name dropping you understand - and he mentioned him and turns out my Polish colleague studied his plays for her MA in Poland. And now I come across his name again. Love HG so would have loved to have seen the BF version.
Ok back really sore now (my own fault I know) so off to recover my strength watching ADWD
Who's this new girl Geri, who's joined us? OW! You can stop hitting me! Glad you enjoyed your night out and your tutorial. Sounds like all that hard work has paid off.
Aw Fi, another Loppy who's been working hard. Put your feet up - a bit of ADWD is bound to restore your strengh!
Hi folks - been out and about all day - shopping for food and bits and pieces for the show and now I have to do the ixxnxxg! Grrr! Weather is now fould - windy and wet. Thought today was supposed to be fine and tomorrow wet! Never trust the weather forecast! Chantale - I've just twigged that I did my cheque and envelope in the office and don't think I put it in the post, which would explain why I haven't had my print! I'll sort on Monday - sorry about that and there I was getting excited! OK can't put it off any more.....ixxnxxg here I come!
Apologies for my slightly tactless post about the Forum earlier. As usual, open mouth insert foot, I just say what I think, usually before putting my brain into gear!!
Having a 5 min break (well bit longer really) and saw there are some comments in reply to the Guardian piece on Joseph/Avenue Q - turns out the writer is a Lee fan
http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/theatreblog/2008/oct/30/lloyd-webber-joseph-dreamcoat
Good to see you again, Geri.
Back to the grindstone - with the company of a beautiful voice so it's not all bad.
Sorry about the delay with Chap 9. I came about 5 mins after I'd shutdown. Nevermind it's there now.
I got really cold this morning, luckily I got back before the rain started.
Glad you liked the vids. I've made all the pics and vids available now. I had a load to sort out.
Indeed Jo -loved the vids - and thank you for sending out Chapter 9 - loved the disclaimer.
And thank you Geri - lovely to be able to read it all again. Fan in hand of course! Fluttering madly. Not as madly as Carol's I imagine!
Right loppies - there is a game in the picture - find the fan. Of course all the Loppies have fans - but how many more can you spot?
Diana, thanks for that link. Pleased to see the writer does have taste!
Thanks, Jo -- great disclaimer! I appreciate you sending out the chapter, now just hope no one's disappointed with it after all Jane's hype!
As Jane says, all the loppies have fans, but a couple (ahem!) have managed to lose theirs, so this picture puzzle is for them. I'll e-mail the picture to Martin so that might help you see it a little easier; oh, and I've sent the chapter to Carys too.
The Irish Mail on Sunday is giving away a free Cliff CD to celebrate his 50 years in show business, and Cliff's been on TV advertising it.
Jane I have a funny feeling that Carol might like this Chapter, definatley need a fan when reading it.
I have been to Kingston shopping today with Celia, have bought some new towels for the Bathrooom now I am not sure they are the right shade of blue, can you all pop in over the weekend to advise me please????????
Auds very intriging(sp) your outing can't wait to hear all about it.
Karen2 I see you have an exam on Monday, GOOD LUCK, although I am sure you will fly through it, good to hear you and Geri had a good night out together.
Fi sorry to hear you are "not yourself" as it were, you must take care, I did pop into your favourite shop while in Kingston, but didn't find anything.
Sorry Sue1 I know I have a wicked sense of humour but your post 31/10.9.55, about you being in "the old peoples home"just made me giggle.
Right time for a v and O me thinks.
..."Oh it's too darn hot, yes it's too darn hot" Think I need the large red fan please! Just going to re-read in case I missed anything...........think I saw Christmas had two fans??? Going to have another look!
...presume that is Lady Jane beating a speedy exit on her broomstick - sob!
Fan on the table cloth trim and on the rug that King Lee is lying on.............
OMG. Just read Ch 9 - not sure Christmas will ever recover (or want to!!). Pher-ew!!!! Hot Hot Hot.
But, oh no, where has Lady Jane gone!
And as a big fan of WofOz, just loved the reference!
I'm with you Jill, time to get the V out and then I'll go study the picture.
Thanks, as ever, Geri and Jane.
Thanks Geri and JaneE,- both for the chapter and the pic. As far as I can see (and I had to download it, so quality not too good) there are 5, possibly 6 extra fans. The one I'm unsure about is a blot above Loppy Jane's head as she leaves.
Christmas, OHOI, Carol, OHOI! ! ! No, no answer. Splash, splash, splash...........dear me, that was Carol in a puddle and I just tread on her!
Time for SCD. See you over there.
Well Done Carol for finding the fan in the rug (but table cloth? What table cloth? - We'll have to make allowances, the poor woman has come over all un-necessary) and yes that is Lady Jane flying off (sniff). At least she got her coat back from Jodphur...
Yes Eva - I'm giving you a pat on the back for spotting that the 'blot' above Lady Jane's head is a fan.
Evening all.
Geri, Just watched Cliff advertising the CD in Sunday Mail.
Thank you for latest chapter, definately needed the fan. Glad you had a good morning and have caught up with your studies. Studide Hedda Gabla at college but I've never seen the play myself. Pleased you and Karen2 enjoyed it.
Well it looks as if the "Official" LM site has gone now. All I got was a domain info page!
Fi, sorry to hear you've been under the weather. Have you been to see your GP. It might be thyroid gland related as it sounds like my symptoms.
Eva, hope Poppy has recovered from the sea spray.
Karen, I agree about Joe and GO staying on. Can't bear to think of anyone else playing Joe.
Karen2 good luck for Monday evening. Hope you had a good time shopping with your sister and Mum.
Auds, really feeling nosy about your friend and meeting tomorrow.
Maeve I love the fact that your grandson had to make sure the Tower trip wasn't educational. Sounds like my son when he was young.
Carol, have you recovered yet from reading the Geri's latest chapter?
Oh! SCD has just started. See you later.
phew... get that fan out Carol before reading Ch9. One seriously green eyed loppy here. But my moto, given that we're all one in the same, what happens to one loppy, happens to us all - - or something like that.
I see 6 extra fans, and possibly a very large one.. open.
Geri, I think we got that free CD last week!
Diana - thanks for that link to the Guardian column.
Oo Ooo SCD... almost missed it..
back later
Auds, you've got to stop anticipating my next chapters -- or has Jane been telling tales?!
Jodphur will have to nick coat back!!!
Aw Jo4 - you wouldn't leave Lady Jane out in the cold with no coat?
Auds - I was going to say 'hold that thought' but Geri's beaten me to it. No there isn't a large open fan - but you are doing well! There are seven extras.
Kathleen - thank you for being nosey. It means I don't have to be - that is if Auds answers the question!
Off out tonight to meet some friends - see ya later loppies!
Evening, only managed a quick skim so will do a quick response: oohhm, really? congrats, so sorry to hear that! hope that covers it.
Got to hurry as I have to be at work for 7pm. Boss sounded cheesed off on the phone, nobody else can work tonight so it's just the 2 of us-oh joy! Think I can safely assume it will be a late finish. byeeee
Carys has loaded chapter 9 and the picture on the blogspot. Thanks, Carys!
Geri, just to answer your questions...
Yes,
Don't know,
Don't know,
Unfortunately.
Pray for us on Tuesday...
Ringer, thanks for the update. And I think we're all prayign for Tuesday (not that it helped four years ago!)
I don't know if this has already been posted but just in case it hasn't... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GYn6obj8e6w
Love watching him juggle, but why do they assume the loppies are on one site only? Especially as we were here first.
Evening all
Picture for CH.9 is in the SG album, and a picture from Diana of the GO is in the GO Two album.
Phew! That's half of the weekend job over and done with. I think the cracks are starting to show with some of the competitors now. Austin and Tom are in a class of their own. It will be very difficult to beat them.
Jodie has really come on in leaps and bounds over the last two weeks.
JaneE,- I have to go back to the pic and see is I can spot the seventh extra fan. It might be clearer on Carys site.
Geri and Jane thanks for chap. 9, ooher Carol what is your alter ego like? That Christmas is a forward one to be sure, (said between gritted teeth as my a.e. lies on the floor, ignored, having been bashed on the head by the edge of a chandelier.)
Geri and Jane and all other Ricardians, I meant to say I think you would have been proud of me, when we were at the T. of L.. While waiting in the queue to go into the Bloody Tower, I had a little chat with Tay and Joe which bore fruit as I was pleased to see that neither of them 'voted' for Richard to have been the one who'd killed the princes, two new recruits to the cause.
Forgot to send oohhmms to you Anne for the loss of your bike, when I was young and lived in Oxford there were bikes everywhere and some of the Colleges tried out a scheme of communal bikes that were never locked but just used by whoever needed them, didn't last very long, as they'd soon all disappeared.
Ok that was a bit hectic, came through the door as the SCD music was playing so had to do my duty on the SCD site first! Much prefer it on later as i really had to shoot out of Sloppys'. I would watch it there, but she is rather deaf and has to have the tv so loud I can't think! Anyway my pooter is here!
Agree Eva Tom and Austin are quite simply the best.
Have also had to go and read chapte 9. I take it Carol is in a cold shower right now!!! (Actually I know she is having pooter problems) What a chapter! Great picture, will examine more closely but think I am too late and everyone has sorted it out. Poor Lady Jane. I don't like that cat, but the swan nearly purring?? Was that a red herring or was the cat eating it? Could the kitty cat turn into a swan?
Ah well better eat I suppose!
JaneE,- had another look at the picture and came up with the following extra fans:
2 with Loppy Jane,(one "blob" and one in the grass.)
1 in the skirt fold of Ali Bi
1 in carpet edge
1 in Christmas skirt
1 under the chandelier
1 round Ali Bi's wrist.
Ah, now I remember,- you've gone out with friend. Tomorrow then?
Well done on upholding the Ricardian cause, Maeve! And I wouldn't worry about your alter-ego; I'm fairly sure she'll wake up with a smile on her face. Jane's calling chapter 10 'chapter X'; I thought she meant Roman numerals, but I wouldn't swear to it. Let's just say Auds was on the right track...
Pauline, do you think Carol's taking a shower next to the computer might be part of the problem? Or does she have a new waterproof one (available from PC World any day now, I'm sure!)
Eva, I think you're on the right track, but I'm sure Lady J will confirm it herself tomorrow.
Re free Cliffy cd. TV advert today to say it is Sunday mail tomorrow. Really tired. Better do packed lunches
Actually Geri I think it shorted outwhen she read chapter 9! Can't wait for chapter 10 if that is even hotter.
Think you've got them Eva, knew I'd be too late. Still see that darn cat!
HELP NEEDED: I need you all to help me with a bit of chapter ten (don't worry, you'll love it!) What I need is for each of you to give me a one-word description of yourself. Here are the rules:
*At a stretch it can be a phrase, 'Free-spirited', 'Childlike enthusiasm' etc.
*It should be as brief as possible, a single word or brief phrase.
*There should be no repeats. If someone gets in first with a word you wanted, you'll need to come up with something else;
*Finally, and most important: IT MUST BE POSITIVE.
I've got one word for Diva:
MAJESTIC ! At least that's how she likes to think of herself, to fit in with her role in the Royal Household, of course!
There are of course others, but since this is a public blog, I'd better not say!
Geri I suppose "Senile Old Bat" isn't a positive description of moi but being realistic it would be.
Drop-dead Gorgeous!!!!
Geri I suppose "senile old bat" isn't a positive description of me, but it is a truthful one.
Jill... realistic? what's that?
oooh, inspite of the pouring rain, Diwali celebrations in my neck of the woods fill the sky with pretty sparkles and load bangs...
Well each loppy holds one fan =4
Additional fans are in folds of 3 loppies (can't see Maeve's 'skirt')
2 with Lady Jane flying off to find Lepry
1 in the mat..
blowed if I can see the 7th, unless of course the one on AliB's wrist is, as Eva says, an 'extra'.
Where is that girl? We need to know the answers!!
Obviously self-esteem isn't much of an issue for SOME people! (But, Jill -- we need to talk!) OK, here's the thing: King Lee has to recognise his loppies by traits that are unique to each of them. These traits should be recognisable not only by him but also by your fellow loppies; they should be uniquely yours. I'd say that ALL loppies are majestic and drop-dead gorgeous, really. How about things like kind, generous, witty, charming, funny, smart, determined, honest?
It occurs to me this is actually quite a hard thing to do for oneself, but if we all do it, it might be easier. Or if it's too hard, maybe you should each pick a trait for one another? I promise it'll make sense and I promise you'll like the end result. I'll start: Uncompromising.
Auds, the fans the loppies are holding don't count...
Geri, it is fiction, Jodphur is 'compassionate'.
Jill, think POSITIVE
Well this is hard for a modest loppy such as myself but I think Praline would like to be 'enchanting'. Is that ok Geri?
If we can do it for another can I say 'Captivating' for Christmas in case she can't speak for herself, on the understanding if her pooter heals itself she can speak for herself!!
So what are you saying Geri? are you disqualifying my statement? You said be positive...
Excellent, Pauline! That's perfect, and I would agree on both counts -- plus I like the alliteration of Captivating Christmas!
Well that's why I can't find that 7th fan... not counting the ones each loppy is holding (tied to waist of wrist)
I've got one for Jill: kindhearted!
Diva is funny, even when she doesn't mean to be!
Too tired,
Nightlee night all
If I can't be DDG then how about "Angelic" [I know... it just get's worse and worse]
I think it's time I left... off to prepare for my big day... get my beauty sleep and all - look my best. Hoping it doesn't rain (too hard)..
nite nite all and sweet sweet meads.
I think they're all great -- even Angelic for Odds. I'd recognise you!
Aw thanks Geri. I think Angelic Odds has a definite ring to it and Majestic Diva, definitely suits her.
Have a lovely day tomorrow Auds and do come back and tell us what you are doing for pitys sake!
Just read chapter nine, ooo-er Geri!!!
One word to describe Soo, faithful, (I'd have said kind, but Jill has that.)
Rain is beating down here, horrible night. Doesn't seem to put a damper on the fireworks though. Auds, I love the pretty sparkles, but not so keen on the loud bangs.
BTW, I had a mad impulse this afternoon and booked DC A31 for the Boxfest matinee!!! Sshh, don't tell Ploppy.
Duvet calling, nite nite Loppies. x
Good night all. I'd been listening to the football for 10 minutes before I realised what I was doing. I think it's time for my bed, so sleep tight, have wonderful dreams and wake up happy.
It's goodnight from me too. Sweet Meads, everyone.
Jazzylou on the forum has just pointed out that the official site is no longer. It must have been relatively recently as fairly sure I checked for any updates only a couple of weeks ago.
Well I went and looked at it yesterday Diana, and it was the same as it had been since March. Good, I hope Lee has managed to get his name back in that case, or can at least start an official site up now. He needs one, blow it we need one, especially after Jan, as he can let us know properly what he's up to.
On that note I will seek my bed, so night night sleep tight.
Hello and ninite loppies sweet meads all. still green with envy over my scollop and row A, he will never live it down grrrr.
Geri Lady Jane 'gentle' a caring lass.
Geri loved the chapter and fan going frantically!!!loved your drawinng jane too by the way you are clever with your little clues.
Ok ninite all.
Thanks for chapter 9, Geri & Jane - came over all hot & bothered when I read it.
Hmmmm a description - well it's not terribly thrilling but my middle name is Organised.
Watched some of HTSM on Sky Player earlier - still have the last episode to watch tomorrow.
Men! Ploppy was asleep and snoring on the settee so I turned the TV off two mins ago - he's just turned it on again.
Chantale says there will be a new site.
Guess I'd better go to bed soon too. Haven't done half the things I wanted to. Sleep well.
hmmm thinks charismatic CaryS ?? will that do? My precious signed photo of the portrait is now in Heswall - Mum has promised to get it framed for my Christmas present so it will be off to the local gallery soon (Wirral Fine Arts) Re the official site it is not lost forever - a certain person saved all the flash content:-)
Hi BHB, looks a bit damp today, not actually raining. Just time for a quick black tea and a slice of toast. Why down in the dumps? You've been on the internet and you're missing. What does he mean? He does talk rubbish sometimes. And you want to know why I gave you a funny smile when I walked in? No idea, did I? Oh, perhaps I did, just ask the CM when she comes in.
I've got to go now. Bye.
psst BHB have a look at this, looks rather smart.

Why has he gone green?
Morning all. Another miserable day on the outside today. Raining, raining and raining. I know we don't seem to get that sort of weather a lot here, so I suppose it is my turn. On the positive side,- I don't have to water the garden!
Hello sweetheart. You do look a bit tired this morning. Saturday is always a hectic day in your other job? Aaaawwww, poor darling (!), come and sit here on the sofa next to me. I'll light the fire, we'll grab the blue blanket from the stack and listen to some soothing music. How about Love Changes Everything? I have mixed a CD with lovely music, some of GO's and some others. Will I put that on? OK,- I'll just make us a coffee, and we can dream this miserable morning away.
I do hope Lee gets a new official site up and running. I know his mother is kind enough to call Donna when he is appearing somewhere, but he is such a star now that his PR should be run by professionals.
What to do today? Well, I have my weekly phonecalls to my sisters to look forward to. That should take most of the morning up to lunchtime! Then there is the Sunday paper to wade through. Oh, what exciting lives we lead!
It is a good morning with a blue sky and sun shine here.
Today I am going to Les Miserable. Finally, about three months later. I am really looking forward to it but sadly I wont see Freek now in the role of Enjolras. Because him becoming Joseph he has now left his old job.
Thanks for the link Geris. What a wonderful adorable clip. Loved the part he said he hasn’t been to the gym for months. Now you have us describe ourselves in just one word? Well I had a good think and I came up with CAREFREE and CHEERY for my alter ego. That’s two words I know.
Chapter 9 : King Lee in heat!!!!! Omg, this story is getting better with every chapter.
I have been busy these past weeks. Got my boss a CD of the musical Joseph. I did warn here though that is not as good as the musical with Lee in it. So to compensate I gave her also a cd from Lee. Now she absolute loves it. The musical that is and she is going to the Dutch Joseph. She also said Lee has a very beautiful voice. I am not disagreeing with my boss of course.
I also met a woman on the Joseph forum of the Dutch show. She had seen clips of the show on you tube and really wanted to see the whole ADWD. So I stepped up. It is in mine job description as Ambassador after all.
Just followed the link to Craig’s Website. It is looking very good. Lots of information on it about him. I saw that he also is releasing a second album. No dates yet.
Not a very nice day weather wise here either.
Oh dear I think my favourite Andrew might go out tonight.
Right lets be positive, how about "Affectionate" for me, and thank you Eva for that lovely post.
Good morning, all. I cannot believe I slept so late, but I'm certainly not complaining - wow!
It's good that the 'official' site is gone since it wasn't being updated, but I agree that he really needs one of his own with lots of news and pictures and music. Maybe we should volunteer to set it up for him. After all, we know exactly what it needs (lots and lots of Lee!)
Anne, when does the Dutch 'Joseph' start? Does Freek have plenty of rehearsal time? I can't imagine he knows the show as well as Lee did when he won the role; after all, he'd been in the touring version.
I'm still loving those adjectives -- and thanks for the suggestion for Jane, Chantale; it's perfect!
Good morning lovely loppies MY GREEN WONT COME OFF..... Sebstien come here mother wnats a word!!!!!don't you run away....me want those tickets..... Ah you will do my garden for a year? a whole year??? hmmmmmmmmmm oh ok will let you off then.. booohoo hoo.Enjoy the show.
Lee did say they were working in onb a new onwe but then we will have to see. he is not I suyppose intirely in charge he must be guided by his agent too. Hey Roro could be appointed to that task if his new people does not work!
or our Carys both excellent bloggs.
Hey Anne well done.10 more days and I am in London again but alas only for the day, mum going to see show and of course needs chaperon!!!!. will try to get 2 prints signed for ebay.Have phoned stagedorr to warn them, we shall see.
Ok church time bye for now xxxxx Grey here today but milder.xxxx
DVO is waxing lyrical again. The briefst of mentions of our GO, but when you're starving you'll live on crumbs:
http://www.nowmagazine.co.uk/celebrity-news/270304/denise-van-outen-i-need-a-strong-man/1/
Oh crumbs I am at it again soory about typing fingers running away from me ....
sorry!!!! ggrrrrrrr
Geri the Dutch Joseph starts on 22 november with the first tryout. The premiere is on 12 december.
I have got tickets for the last tryout on 11 december.
Funnily enough Freek does know the musical. He played Joseph in the school musical. I even found a picture of him.
http://www.freekbartels.com/Gallery/Joseph%20and%20the%20Amazing%20Techniclolor%20Dreamcoat/slides/4.html
I found some pictures of the first rehearse day. It was really a cast presentation.
There are lots of them and in the last picture you see Freek, Renee ( Narrator),
and three ex-Josephs who are now playing three brothers. The picture the link brings you to I love.
The coat is not really my taste. I like the top half but then it goes downhill.
http://www.theaterparadijs.nl/site/Albums/Joseph_1ste_repdag/
I'd have to agree with you about the coat, Anne. However, at least it does actually have a golden lining, which Lee's does not.
Oeps sorry, the links brings you to picture number one.
The picture I like is number 29 I think.
Hi Anne,- can you send some sunshine my way, please?
Freek doesn't have a lot of rehearsal time either, does he? Thank you for the links. The Dutch coat is too brash, I think. I love Lee's coat.
Have a nice time tonight at Les Mis. Are you sure it's tonight? Check your ticket!
Geri,- glad to hear you had a proper night's sleep. Must have been all the hard work you've had lately that finally paid off.
Morning all, miserable here as well, but a bit milder than of late. Rather have the cold and clear I think.
Thankyou for the crumbs Geri! Agree he really needs a site that is updated regularly. I think we could do it very well, maybe we should apply!
Anne thanks for the links agree the coat is shall we say very colourful, not that good in other words!
Morning BHB, yes I know the CM is late but I think she is still having trouble with her computer. So we better hop into the kitchen and you can show me what she does in here.....she doesn't do that does she? Well really!! No I don't mind I'll do it too, we can use the pink blanket! I suppose then we better get the food ready. Oh yes, well I suppose we will do lots of freshfruit and smoothies, waffles and pancakes with maple syrup if desired. Eggs scrambled poached or boiled with bacon. There will aso be smoked haddock and kedgeree. Lots of freshly made breads and croissants with preserves. Now if you don't mind I'll just shut the door, we're, er um, busy.
Eva, I am going to the matinee and yes I did check the ticket this time.
Shame about Lee's site but I mudt admit I didn't often visit,
Geri if we are going with words that sort of rhyme with our names, how about "genial" for me, means the same thing as the first word.
I'm just back from Tesceaux and have groceries in the house again. So nice to be able to drink tea without wondering if the milk is going to poison me. I have to say it's a spectacular day today! The sky is so blue it hurts your eyes -- the sort of blue you'd associate with ski-slopes. And so warm I didn't need my coat. Don't forget the weather we get here today usually reaches UK by tomorrow, so I hope you all get to enjoy it too.
I forgot to tell you: last night I went to my local off-license for a bottle of red to go with dinner. I had a hard time getting served because the staff -- four big, burly men -- couldn't take their eyes of SCD!
Jill, you now have three lovely adjectives -- would you like to pick the one that suits you best?
Morning - had to look at the clock to see if it is still morning as it's been non-stop but still an hour to go.
I see from Craig's site that he's been staying with a fan while doing Joseph in Dartford. Should we each offer to put up Lee if he does a tour??!!!! Imagine serving him breakfast in bed ..... where's my fan!
Thanks for the links, Anne. Marianne told me the lining was gold so I was curious to see it. Prefer Lee's Joseph coat, the Dutch one is too garish. Ooohhhh boo hoo it's only his for a few more weeks. Enjoy Les Mis.
Confirmation that Lee is on the second half of CIN ie will be going there post Joseph - and this implies he'll be singing with Denise. Do hope that's true. Although I think they're right not to make a habit of doing things together, it would be great to see them singing together once or twice.
http://www.radiotimes.com/ListingsServlet?event=10&channelId=92&programmeId=87818891&jspLocation=/jsp/prog_details_fullpage.jsp
That would be great, Diana. In fact, K2 and I speculated what they might sing when we were together the other night. I voted for 'Baby it's cold outside' done in the best Miss Piggy Rudolph Nureyev style. Here's a reminder: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=qBNYCUgP25w
Diana,- you do have the most entertaining ideas! Serving Lee breakfast in bed ! ! ! ! Oh, I say!
Anne,- thank you for sending some sunshine this way. It's clearing up nicely now. Maybe I'll even venture outside in a little while.
Hello all! Just back from church!
Eva - well done with the fans, you got all - except one! And Auds didn't spot it either. Try looking at the floor tiles under the signature - the black ones.
Maeve - I'm not a Richardian you know - not a proper one. But I've burnt my 'I Love Hery VII' Tee shirt after having the error of my ways explained to me by a certain Irish Loppy.
Anne - enjoy Les Mis.
Geri - thank you for the crumbs.
I see Lady Jane has already been described as 'Gentle' (Aw thanks Chantale), I would have gone with affectionate, but Jill's got that - so Gentle it is then!
Thanks for that Diana, the thought of serving Lee breakfast in bed I mean! Brightened up my day no end. Oh and thanks for the link as well. I'm lousy at song suggestions as it's only when someone comes up with something I think 'oh yes that would be great'.
Philip Glenister is on Michael Balls' show, he just chose Daydream Believer as a song, unfortunately by the Monkees, but took me back. Sweet memories.
Eeeuw, now he's playing the COs latest offering, yuk. Apparently he's the guest next week, one to miss then!
JaneE,- yes, found it. Well hidden it was, but of course obvious now!
I'm listening to MB too. I love his sense of humour and his infectious laughter.
Another thing I've done is booking another RowA ticket! I know,- I'm terrible, but I do get panicky now that Jan10th is getting closer. I'll be there with Pauline and Carol, so we can keep an eye out for each other! (As if,- we'll be so busy watching the stage we won't notice a small revolution going on in the aisle!)
Diana, I read the Craigette’s diary and thought if only!!!
Eva, I know what you mean about getting panicky as January fast approaches, I just don’t know how many more tickets I can sneak past Ploppy, I did wonder about trying for the 8th of Jan, but that would mean three nights at SP, don’t suppose they do discount or two for one do they??
You most welcome Jane. ( Me have not seen you swing from beams when you have imbibed!!!!! ).....
Oh Diana mind racing breakfast in bed indeed.!!!!!
I have not sent my photos from the 18th to martin yet must do it soon.
I do hope scllop wiil see a busy theatre because it is mich more exciting for megami, plus it is geeting closer to the end of run with him sob sob.Just as well I don't live nearer and have commitments here. Shame I did not win the lotterythis week.
I know we all feel the same.
I look frowards to see Go and DVO preform on CIN I have never seen them signing together, what a treat in wait.
Hi all
Had a busy day so far. Not sure what I've been doing but I seem to have been very busy!!
Thanks for the link to Craig's site. Is it just coincidence that the touring Jo finishes in January!!?
Another one getting panicky about the approach of Jan 10th. I still have my Sloppy's offer of a ticket but it would mean braving the train on my own (I don't want to play temptress again Jane). Do you think I can do it??
Oh Pauline breakfast in bed for the GO, run his bath, iron the tighty wightys, the list is endless.
I don't think I shall be able to stay up to watch DVO and LEE isn't it the night before we go out to another Muscial star???????
geri I will go for "genial"
Karen - of course you can do it! You are a brave Loppy and nothing can stop you from going to see the GO!
Mmmmm - good suggestion Diana. I'm sure Ploppy wouldn't mind me making breakfast in bed for the GO.
Ah ha! Found it at last Eva! Well Done!
Karen The Brave we call you! Of course you can do it! There is a load of us going on the 16th December if you want to join the fun in RowA. If you book another date, one or more of us might book on the same date, just out of concern, of course. We wouldn't want you to feel lonely!
You know you can do it Karen, just listen to the GO all the way and look at pictures of him, and dream of him. You'll be in London in no time. There are always taxis if you can't face the tube. Go on you know you want to.
Yaaay Aunty Eva is coming with us to row A!Now when would that be...oh yes in 22 sleeps time. Not that I'd been counting or anything you understand!
Heard from Carol, her laptop is still giving problems. She said she is actually looking forward to going into work!!!! Ohhhhhhmmmmms for her laptop any way.
Must to Sloppy, back soon.
Karen of course you can do it, if you book for the 16/12 I don't mind coming over to meet you at your Main line station thats the beauty of being retired.
There you go Karen! We all reckon you can do it! And Jill thanks for offering to meet my fellow Yorkshire Loppy.
Major OOOHHHMMMSS for Carol's lap-top. It's not the same without the Queen Lush!
Oh my, I need to take a deep breath. As you know, Cliff has a CD in today's Irish Mirror so, natch, I had to go out and find a copy (they were sold out in my usual newsagents this morning!). Anyway, I got a copy, brought it home, opened up the magazine section to an interview with John Barrowman -- and there's a picture of the GO!!! Ooh, I've come over all funny...
Sorry, I forgot to say, of course you can do it, Karen. Just repeat your mantra all the way there!
The classic scene in Carry on Up the Khyber is on. The one where they carry one having dinner when the house is being attacked I love that scene.
sorry touch of the Chantale's 'on' not one
Aw, you guys!! Thanks for all the encouragement, you're all lovely. And Jill, how lovely of you to offer to do that, thank you. You're all making it very tempting, I must say!
Just got a message from the pink fluffy slippered one, she says Hi to all.
You know you can do it Karen. Go for it!
Oohhmmss for Carol's puter and any one who needs them.
Ploppy went and got the SM but had kept the pare and bits and given me Cliffy's CD. Must have a look at the mag now.
Ploppy is watching the Grand Prix and falling asleep. I hope this Lewis wins!
Anne, thanks for all the links of Freek.
Diana, I'd serve Lee breakfast in bed any day.
I'd say a word to describe K'leen would be cuddly. That's what the children at school call me!
Better think about getting the tea. See you.
Oh, yes, I'd serve Lee in bed any day too...
Cuddly K'leen -- check.
Get well soon, Carol's come-putter -- ohhmmmm!
Geri-were you watching a Carry on film too mmmmmmm!!!!!
Anne-Thanks for the links. Really not certain about the coat either, then I remembered the Dutch pre Euro notes and thought it fits perfectly. They were extremely colourful to me, just used to the boring UK paper money colours.
Karen-16th Dec, I thought that's a good idea, had a check, Oh already booked. Why not try and make the date? You've done so well, this would be another step.
I had a lovely ride today. Colours of the leaves changing on the trees, deer were quiet (rutting must have finished), Megan was goodish. She did think I was taking the wrong way home so decided to make right instead of a left as we were dashing across a field. My left arm was not strong enough to pull her around. No harm done. It was not too cold, no rain and no wind so very pleasant. Customer was a bit odd though.
Oooooer Kathleen you are blue as well.
Go on Karen, book the 16th Dec! I've got a feeling the train I catch in Derby comes from up your way, we could try to co-ordinate our seats if we book in plenty of time. I have a friend who works for the railway, and he usually tells me when to book for the best price, I dare say he may even be able to book for us.
Jo4 all I can say is 'I think I'm a little bit plastered' I love that scene! Sound like a nice ride even if Megan had different plans to you.
Are you ready for HAMSTER time?
Aw cuddly Kl'een - that's sweet!
Sue1 - thank you, another kind offer.
The only problem I have with the 16th is that it will mean taking two days off work and as I'm off for two weeks starting the week after the 16th I'm not sure I'll be able to get the extra two days off. Grrrrr! Problems, problems!! Must think of solutions.
Anway, thanks again for all the encouragement.
Right, it's pub night so I'm off to do my bit.
Have a good evening all.
Jane thanks for the warning about Hamster, I'd forgotten again.
Well I'm back from a wonderful day out. The weather was just splendid to meet with my friend, and make new friends. We went for a very pleasant walk through Windsor Great Park? I met my friend, she of the “much admired by a pop star”, [and I can guarantee that this isn’t a whimsical statement – she truly is a very beautiful creature}and she introduced me to her friend Willow, who would be joining us for this lovely adventure (well for me anyway. I believe Willow, Megan and Jo do it quite often). It took a little while to get into my stride, and I haven’t been on a walk like this for quite a while, but I believe I didn’t let the side down – perhaps didn’t look as elegant as some in the saddle, but I was described as ‘proficient’ by the ‘escort’ so I’m very happy with that! The only downside is, and I knew this would be the case of course, is that I do now have a rather tender behind (bit like one of those old steam engines). I have had a jolly good soak in a hot Radox® bath… but I doubt that’ll be the end of it. I have trough enough getting out of bed in the mornings – so tomorrow will prove to be very interesting for me… might even be happy to stay standing on the tube and bus route into work???
In fact, right now, I’m like one of those hip keyboard players that stand as they play….
So, I’m off for a quiet lie down for now….
And I know I’ve said it before today Jo, but that was just wonderful and a huge, huge thank you to you.
ouch,oooch, ow!.. that hurt...
See I said the customer was a bit Odd. Sorry about the sore b*m.
Auds,- lucky you and lucky Megan! That sounds like a wonderful Sunday. I'm sure the sore bum is worth it. How is Megan faring, Jo? Sore back?
Oh Auds your day sounds delightful, not what we were expecting but lovely anyway. Ohhhmmmsss for the b*m and anything else that may hurt.
Oh Auds you are a tease! You got us all very intrigued, sounds as though you had a great ride with an excellent instructer, good clue, Jo, an 'odd' customer.
Have had a very quiet weekend, am now being tempted by the thought of Dec. 16th but having succumbed already to the lure of Nov.19th, not sure the credit card will stand it.
Will be watching results of SCC later, think Andrew or Heather might go, John's got another week or two of the sympathy vote?
Off to watch Anne's links.
Go on Maeve be a devil, after the Dec 16th there are only 25 days till it's all over!!!!!
Karen, you're blue too, only just noticed.
Sue, everyone is red to me, sure it's not your pooter?!? And who's being a little devil tempting others to spend money.
Eva, are you trying to say I've put on weight? Megan is fine with my new lighter self!!
Yes, everyone is red to me too. Alas, I can't make a December show (sniff). Even if the budget stretched to it, my schedule won't.
Auds, I get the feeling you think horseriding is a pain in the a*se...
Arrggh SCD and Hamster on at same time. I'll have to iplayer Hamster
Well back again. Your afternoon sounds just delightful Auds, though I sympathise with the sore rear end. I have only ridden a couple of times and remember the feeling well! However as has been said you are a wicked tease!
Jo4 if it's any help TG is repeated on Wednesday at 7pm. I would watch it then but I am out on Wednesday. Yes a visit to London but no another theatre, He is on holiday after all! So I will have to watch TG on iplayer.
if all goes awry Pauline & Jo, I'm recording TG so can always do a video for you.
Doh! I never got the Odd customer connection, though I thought about Megan when Auds said admired by a pop star. Sounds like you had a lovely time girls!
I'm another that can't go in December. Ploppy would murder me!
Oh and everyone's red to me
They've been advertising Top Gear on TV today because it's coming to town in a week or two. Unfortunately, it means less to me than to some of you because I don't watch it. But if anyone wants to come over and stay with me for the occassion...
Eva is that you on hte antique road show coming from Kent with a red and white dress?
Thanks for the reminder of the repeat. As it's 7pm after SCDITT I might remember. I had to check if I was out Weds, no, it's Tues. Off to see Witches of Eastwick.
Chantale I missed the lady in the red and white dress, I'm doing some converting to get a video onto MP4 player, so I was distracted. Trying to work out how to use the 'simple' software.
Off to other page now for SCD. (conversion up to 5% for first of 5 files, looks like a long job)
What Geri??? You've got a chance to meet the Hamster? Huh! Why can't it come to Bradford!
Chantale,- I might not be in the blush of my youth, but I'm definitely not old enough to be sold on Antique Road Show!
Over to SCD.
Well it's nearly nine o'clock, I'd better say good night.
Sweet Meads all.
I am back of a day full of music and drama. Been to Les Mis. What can I say?
Great music, great show, great new theatre and great lighting. Really beautiful lighting but sometimes I just wish they switched the lights on so that you can see something more of the stage than a small spotlight.
There was one actor, his name is Jamai, who blew me away. He was the winner of the first pop idol in Holland about 7 years ago. He was this bit nerdy, nice, young boy who had a great voice but not much more.
He soon disappeared from the pop scene and came back in the musical scene. Now I have seen him perform I am quite impressed. This suites him much better.
So that's the second part of my weekend job done.
Andrew voted off which was fair enough.
Jo4,- I misunderstood who was riding who today. I thought Auds was on Megan! Oh dear, it sounds bad whichever way I put it, doesn't it?
Anne, glad you enjoyed Les Mis. I saw it years ago in Norway, but can't say it's my favourite musical. I suppose it depends on the cast.
No silly it was someone in the background looking very much like you. You forget we are not old enough to be there we are only 27!!!
So Andrew went, should've been John, but not surprised it wasn't!
Anne glad you enjoyed Les Mis. I love it, one of my favourite musicals.
Sad news, goldfish died. He was about fourteen though so I suppose he'd had a good innings.
Might be my puter, but I'm blue, and Karen, Kathleen, Maggie, and Martin, and I think Carys.
Jo, I just don't want anyone to miss out. Glad you and Auds had a lovely day. I love horses, but I've never ridden one in my life, a Blackpool donkey doesn't count I suppose? A bit too late for me now!!
Better go and remove dead fish from tank. Nite nite Loppies.x
Come on Karen you can do it and you know you will love it I wish i could join you but no wayI think I would have a war on my hands.
Fair results in SCD but thought that john should have gone and Andrew next week .
ok time for beddy. Golly I did some riding but that was in the 60's would flatten the poor horse these days.
Anne where did you see les mis here or holland?
Ninite all Sweet meads all xxxx
I'm inconsolable that Andrew has gone, should have been John in the dance off, although even I have to admit Andrew's days were numbere, didn't he make a lovely speech??
Chantale I also thought that Lady in Antiques RS looked like Eva, perhaps "great minds think alike".
Oh Auds so that is where you were going, WGP is beautiful this time of year, well any time of the year, one of my favourite places for a walk, hope you are not to sore in the morning, we will all says OOHHMMMS for your b....m??????
Anne glad to hear you enjoyed Les Mis, one of these days I must book to see it again, as I didn't enjoy it first time round, I know I'm very odd.
Sue1 sorry to hear about your Goldfish, by the way you are all red to me.
Yawn and stretch .. ouch ouch ouch.... managed to get to the end of SCD then the eyelids dropped.. all that wonderful fresh air and exercise!!!
Now Eva, not sure I quite like where you were going with your comment on the state of Megan's back..
But I can't sit here much longer.. so good night one and all and very sweet meads.
I'm off to bed. Goodnight & sweet Meads, all.
Auds,- I'm not sure I like it either. It sounded funny to me when I first wrote it, but......... so I apologize!
I've been trawling through the Internet for the best possible price for my next stay at SP, and it's worth the time and effort. Prices ranges from £80 incl. breakfrast to £145 without breakfast for a single room.
I'm knackered, so I'm off to my bed. Good night all, sleep tight, have wonderful dreams and wake up happy.
Darn it,- I almost forgot: the bins go out tonight!
Never mind Jill if Andrew hadn't gone this week I think he would have next. Lovely man but not the best dancer.
Agree Eva you have to shop for the SP as prices vary hugely.
Meant to say earlier really pleased as Lewis won the formula one championship. Very exciting.
Right time for my bed so night night all, sleep tight.
I found a site that seems to give low prices for SP. I've emailed it out. No idea if it is any good.
Evening, this will be a very brief post as the battery is almost dead on laptop. Had a lovely "mummy moment" today, Josh was presented with his scout award at a county ceremony, very proud!!
Your horseride sounds lovely Auds, I'm very envious as I'd love to ride again.
Hmm a suitable adjective for Alley Cat...let me sleep on it Geri and I'll get back to you.
Karen go for it. You know it will be worth it!!
Time for bed now, had a very late night last night.
Nightlee night
Oh dear, I had a not so nice dream about Joe: I dreamed Jane, K1 and I had what we thought were good seats for the show but ended up at the back and were all separated. Worse, the show was really poorly attended and the audience were standing up, walking around and talking LOUDLY to one another throughout so we couldn't see the show. Carol had managed to get front row seats, though... Oh, and K1 decided to leave (that's the second time you've abandoned me in my dreams, Karen. Was it something I said?) Maybe it's not being able to go in December combined with Lee's departure that's got my subconsicous in a tizz?
Oh gosh, BHB, that's some bare hug (yes, I did mean to spell it that way!) Anyone would think you hadn't seen me for a week. Oh, I suppose it has been! Well, I'm here now and I'll make it up to you in the manner of your choosing. Hmm, now how did I guess a blanket-party would be on your agenda? No, no complaints, we can snuggle as much as you like... My, that's a wicked twinkle you've got in your eye!
Morning all!
Another bad dream Geri? Dear me! Hope you have some better ones tonight!
Anne - glad you liked Les Mis (I haven't seen it)
Jo thanks for the e-mail re SP
Ali - Congratulations to your scollop.
Sue - sorry to hear about your fish.
OOOhhmmmms for Carol's computer - Are Suex and Linx having problems with theirs too? Ohmmmm Ohmmm.
Now BHB you look happy this morning? Oh you've had a big snuggle from Geri this morning? Well is it my turn now? Oh thank you!
Morning all.Grey(ish) and cold(ish) here today. A typical autumn morning, I'd say. Not exactly one to lift the spirit, but I'll do my best.
Hello sweetheart. You'll help me? You're well in to your snuggling strides this morning? Lepry popped in again? That's why you look so pleased. And JaneE too? Well, I'm glad you got some practice in, so that we can get down to the serious stuff! Don't look so alarmed, dear heart. Blanket, blue - sofa - you and me - that has to be serious! Oh, and of course the newspaper!
What do you think to offer for breakfast today? Poached egg, crisp bacon and walnut roll? You are really coming on as a chef, do you know that? Carol has really done a good job with you behind locked doors! Why are you blushing? It has been cooking you've been doing? Yes, but cooking up what,- that's the question! Maybe you'd better tell me, or show me?
Jo4,- thank you for the e-mail and link. I have already tried that one, but have come up with one even lower priced. Whichever link I try, SP has hiked up it's prices with at least £10 lately, compared with a few months ago.
It's my day out today: The weekly shop at Tesco. Ah, what fun and games, eh?
Morning all, not such a nice day here either, and I'm going to the hairdressers today, typical.
Thanks for that link Jo4, always useful to have so I will save it.
Must do ohhhhmmmmms for Linx as I know she had a horrible cold, and I think Suex is having pooter problems so ohhhhmmmms for her as well. Ohhhhhmmmmms to for Carols laptop.
DT was on Breakfast this morning.sad to see him go. However he said there are four specials next year as well as the Christmas one, so that's good. Wonder who they can get to fill his shoes, very difficult.
Morning BHB, you look very bouncy today, oh I see you have been well and truly snuggled! Well don't think that I will be letting you off, c'mere!
Morning all, don't know if anyone is interested but there are 2x2 tickets for Row B Stalls evening show 10th Jan, on ebay, I'm tempted but my tikets for that night are B5 DC, which is really ok. Auction ends 9th Nov.
Hi all . working at home this morning - supposed to be going for my flu jab but as i feel so unwell dont think they will give it to me. Serves me right for forgetting my initial appt for the jab 2 weeks ago. kathleen - thanks for health info but I try to steer clear of doctors - i have genetic immune deficiency and doctors admit they dont know how to treat it. i am normally Ok but every now and again i just dip - and this is just a very big dip. Not helped by fact that my homeopath retired and so I am without my usual source of help. Spent all of yesterday in bed which helped. reminds me are you feeling much better now Geri given that hopefully the cause of your symptoms discovered.
Jo - thanks for vids. Auds and Jo - your day yesterday sounds brill - exercise, good company, wonderful scenery. geri - thanks for chs - ch8 made me come over all unecessary (maybe that the real cause of my taking to bed!) - will read ch9 in my next break ( in about 5 mins then!)
Dont have energy, or creativity, to think of name for fifi- will give ti some thought.
really really tempted by another ticket. Hmmm
Oh Fi, have some oooohhhhhhmmmmmmsssss, hope you feel better soon.
The item numbers for the ebay tickets 190263971619 and 190263972820
AArrghh! I'be been bereft for the last couple of days - think I'll have to take the laptop back to PC World to get it sorted out - think it may be something to do with the hard drive! Gulp! Fortunately I took out a maintenance contract when I bought it!! Was going to pop on first thing but had to sort out Baby Boss's travel (he's off to Bratislava this afternoon) and both the other secretaries have called in sick, so it's been a bit manic! Thanks for the oooohhhhhmmmms and P2 for looking after the Bistro (hm no hardship there I feel!). Will be back later when I've finished a mound of invoices!!
Fi sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly, I guess it must be like having full blown flu but worse, lots of oooohhhhmmms coming your way hope you feel better soon.
Sue have looked at the tickets I have got Row R but I can't really afford to pay over the odds for better tickets, makes me wonder though why has she got 4 tickets to sell. obviousley (sp) not a Loppy.
Hope Carol isn't having trouble with her work computer as well, Carol can you hear ARE YOU OK, WE ARE MISSING YOU??????
Oh there you are Carol just missed you
Gosh Carol your bosses do their fair share(and more) of gallivanting round the world.
Talking of which eva Ploppy and I going to madeira for 5 days from 15th feb. we had window between waving scollop off on his first ski trip and then collecting him 6 days later (all in one piece I hope). So seemed a good idea to go off gallivanting ourselves and ploppy always wanted to go there. He plans to go walking in the levadas but in my present mood I couldnt even muster up the enthusiasm to go hobbling. I will take lots of books. When are you there Eva?
Ok beter go and do some (more) work.
No dreams for me last night unfortunately, Geri that was a nightmare you had.
Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well Fi, hope you'll be better soon.
I'm off to the Doc. this pm. myself for the results of some blood tests, I very rarely go to the Doctor and went with what I thought was something very trivial a couple of weeks ago, was slightly alarmed as Doctor seemed concerned and sent me off to have tests for lots of things. Will probably be told to lose weight and lay off the sauce!
Would like better seats for Jan 10th but certainly not prepared to pay silly price from e-bay so that someone can pocket a pretty profit.
It looks like we need lots of Ohmmms this morning!
OOHHHMMMSS for carol and Suex's computers.
OOOHHHMMMSSS for Fi and Linx being poorly and for Maeve's blood tests.
Some who I don't think I'll be trading in my tickets for Jan 10th either. I'm quite happy being in a box!
good morning all.
Jill i think we have R in stalls that night too and although I would love to bid for the tickets I think I would be very foolish!!! so I shall leave it to others to enjoy.
Ohmmmssssss for Carol and suex comp for all the poorluy loppies and for poor geri's nightmares!.
Meave hope your blood tests will be ok.xxxx
What's all this illness going on? I don't like hearing about my Loppies being unwell. Ohms aplenty for those who need it.
Fi,- I'll be arriving in (on?at?) Madeira 16th February in the evening, so we must exchange details before you fly off. How nice!
Sue1,- I would love to be in RowB stalls on 10th, but as others have said, I'm not paying silly money for it. I haven't checked the eBay site yet, so I don't know how high they've got already.
I finally got a single room at SP for £80 incl. full English breakfast, which is a good price.
Spent my usual small fortune for cabbage, tomatoes and the like at Tesco. I feel I've earned a res now, so will put GO on the CDplayer a, put my feet up and read the paper.
Hi Carol, it's been quiet without you, missed you, hurry up and get that laptop sorted, ohhhmmmsss.
Eva, I guess we're quite happy with row A on the 9th eh?
Where did you get your SP booking?
Fi, not been to Madeira but a friend says it's lovely. I'm sure you'll be better by then.
Hello! Jane E - Just read Chapter 9! The picture is wonderful!! Thank you for making my alter ego so tall and beautiful! Geri - fab chapter and cliff hanger!
I will get the Radio Times tomorrow and see if they have a bit more detail about the timings for CIN. They did last year so hopefully we will know more precisely when Lee is on and what he is doing! On a completely different note I went to see the new Bond film and its really good! If you liked Casino Royale you will like this one. I rather like Daniel Craig, he has piercing blue eyes and a ROTY second only to Lee's!!
Sue1,- try this link:
http://londonrooms.eu
I agree RowA on the 9th will make up for RowS stalls the next day, but as we say in Norway: Much wants more!
Thanks Eva, I think you got the last standard room, I've had to go for a club room at £100 but it's still £25 cheaper than the hotel's price, and they will downgrade me to a standard if they get a cacellation, so fingers crossed.
Now if I could just figure out the tube trains I could save £20 taxi fare!
Afternoon, quick dash in and out. Had my hair cut, no it doesn't look different, just feels it!
Fi sounds horrible whatever you have got, lots of ohhhhhmmmms for you.
I wouldn't want to pay over the odds for row B, as it happens am in J so not too bad, but bet this is someone who bought these with the idea of turning a profit. Anyway, the atmosphere in the theatre (if all goes well this time!) will be so good it won't matter.
Off to pick up my parcel from the PO in a minute, fingers crossed it is what I think it is!
Afternoon - bit manic here.
Scott's review of Saturday's SCD http://blogs.thestage.co.uk/tvtoday/2008/11/strictly-come-dancing-week-7-video/
Bye!
Good on Denise for signing up - you wouldn't get me doing this http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/article1884106.ece
Fi you will love Madeira, the weather should be good as well, we were in T shirts in March when we went.
Pauline you hair looks lovely.
Sue1 if you want to save on a taxi I am sure I could tell you how to get from A to B on the tube line, we will talk about it when I see you on 16/12.
I also had an e mail about cheap holidays and stuff this morning, have just checked out the site
UKNet Travel Guide, I couldn't see how to book a single room but they had standard twin rooms £110.45, although the price was £94.00 taxes added it works out as £110.45, not sure about breakfast though.
Well day got better as saw Baby Boss off to Bratislava and then went to lunch with Other Boss (it was his birthday yesterday) - downside is I am now playing catch up! As I will be incommunicado when I get home - oooohhhhhmmmms for all those in need; hello everyone, have fun everyone, behave everyone and Sweet Meads everyone!!
Fi ditto my friend has gone there it is beautiful, she is desperate to go there again as it does her hubby 's aches and pains good now don't ask me the spell taht I call it arthuritus!!!!!!.
Hey beautiful Eva is thou ignoring little moi!!!!.,
on our travels again tomorrow Tumbridge Wells there and back in one day (13 hours travel yuk yuk yuk.) OOOOOOO Nine days to go ....
Hello, sorry I missed you Carol, oohhmms to Fi and Linx hope you both feel better soon. Miserable evening here, just got very wet collecting little scollop from Jitsu, it's that very fine misty rain.
I should be going to a mini firework display later but can't face the thought of standing around in the cold getting wet (again!) so will probably give it a miss.
Thanks for the link Diana, she's a gutsy lady!
Chantale,- am I ignoring you? Am I? Where have you hidden yourself? Behind my sofa? If I have, I never meant to. Thank you for the "beautiful". Had to go and have a look in the mirror. Still can't see what you mean!
I've got arthritis, but it sounds better the way you spell it!
Turnbridge Wells is not too far from where I live; give me a wave! It's a long day in a car or coach.
Jill,- I think £110.00 for a twin room sounds a quite good price.
Pauline,- I like your hair!
Debbie & Woozie have spoken to See who say they will be extending the booking period for Joseph tonight or tomorrow when it will also be announced who is taking over from Lee.
Hi fellow-lopsters, gosh I'm tired. Must be those goofy dreams I'm having. Ohms to all the sickies (and Carol's computer). Hope you're having a better evening, Fi, and those tests turn out okay, Maeve. Fi, may I suggest: frisky, faithful, friendly, felicitous, or flirtatious. Not making judgements, you understand, just going with the alliteration again.
I had one of my weird intuitions today that there would be some Lee news soon -- at least it sounds like there's Joe news on the horizon.
I hope your intuition is right Geri! we so need Lee news! But the Jo news is interesting too - thanks Diana.
Ali B - I'm glad you like Alley-Bi in the picture. I had fun drawing the three wise Loppies!
Evening all. That horrible fine misty rain here as well, managed to keep the hair dry though. thankyou for the kind comments about it!
Went to the PO and I was right, it was the print of Lee. thankyou so much for doing this Chantale, it is so beautiful, I love it. Will have to try and get it signed I think, and then frame it, then it can hang on the spot on the wall in my bedroom I had assigned to the real thing!
Thanks for the links and the news Diana. I have flown over Kilimanjaro many times, that is one heap big mountain, rather them than me!
Oooh I wonder who the poor soul is whose going to try and follow Lee, looks like we will soon know.
Evening all
Well I woke up this morning with a cluster of cold sores on my top lip that weren't there last night!! The whole of my top lip was so swollen I looked like I'd been punched in the mouth! Very attractive look - not!
And the other bad news (well for me anyway) is that I checked my diary and work schedule today and it's unlikely I'm going to be able to get time off so close to Christmas so don't think I can do the 16th. So, I've been sulking with my swollen lip all day!!
Still considering other dates though!
Geri - strange dream indeed. Me, leave whilst the GO was on stage? Me, abandon you? Never!! (Well, obviously only in your dreams!!).
Fi - poor you. Sounds dreadful. Loads of ohms coming your way.
Maeve - good luck with the test results. Hope all is okay. Lots of ohms to you too.
And ohms too to Linx, Suex, Carol and to all in need.
Pauline - you had saved a spot on your bedroom wall on which to hang the GO?? Different!
Thanks for the links re SP. Will keep those for future reference.
It will be interesting to hear who thinks they are man enough to step into those Jo shoes!!!
Well wouldn't you Karen?!! Just think he'd be there whenever you wanted him and then couldn't get away! Ohhhhmmmms for your swollen lip and cold sores. Foul things, I have suffered with them and know.
Oo Pauline, I am having very naughty thoughts right now!! Need a drink and a fan - a big one - of both!!!!
See, I'd be putting him (I mean IT) on the ceiling. Right over the bed. Chantale, can you ask Nicholas to do another of the GO in a loincloth for just that purpose?
I didn't say where he was going to be exactly did I? Oooh in a loincloth? Ok now I need that fan!
Oo Er!!!!!!!!!!!
Well it was all pretty good news, everything was fine except cholesterol a little high so must watch diet a bit, actually thought I got off lightly as no mention of weight or drink, surprisingly, liver's in tip top condition! Just need a chest xray next week.
Thanks Diana for the news about the Joe extension, will be interesting to hear finally who's really taking over and not just more rumours.
Karen some years ago I had bouts of urticaria and would sometimes wake up with a big fat lip, very embarrassing.
Hello just spent the last few hours, well more than a few!!Playing catch up, (I worked Fri, Sat and Sun) Geri, what a great chapter and Jane your drawing - well what can I say ….Thank you
Lots of OOHHHMMMS for all in need and for poorly computers.Maeve, I hope your test results come back ok; did you have a go at the £1 hotel site? I did, and got so excited that I was able to start the booking, then I was too slow (as you know it takes me ages to write a post) on the dates and then I saw … All rooms sold out!!
One word for Magpie ... Inquisitive
Must go and dish up dinner back later
Karen,- when you think of another date for your Jo visit, let us know. My credit card is so battered that another ticket to the show will hardly make a dent!
Those cold sores are horrible. There is a good ointment you can get for them at the chemist, but of course I can't remember the name!
I was lucky enough to win one of the prints in the Dublin raffle. I have been wondering how I can get it properly signed by Lee. I don't want one of the scrum squiggles on it. (Don't misunderstand, normally any squiggle will do!). I thought I might send it to Lee and ask him to sign it properly and then return it to me.
I have now booked my future train tickets online and saved a lot of money. Well, you know my saving philosophy,- so I'll have to think what to spend it on!
Karen, save your money, one of the best cures for a cold sore is simple toothpaste! It dries it out -- of course, you'll look a bit goofy for a day or two so you might want to apply it at night only.
Glad so many of you enjoyed that chapter; I have to say there was a lot of angst about whether it was fit for delicate loppy eyes. Now we're doing the same thing with Chapter ten (AKA Chapter X, according to Jane). So we ended up with two versions, one naughty, and one a tad naughtier. We'll go with the 15 rating for circulation, but if you'd rather have the 16 rated version instead (or as well), just let me know.
Karen sorry to hear about the cold sores, horrible aren't they, and also that you can't make the 16th was looking forward to seeing you.
Maeve glad the tests all seem positive.
I see Karen Geri and Pauline are back in the gutter, all this talk of Lee in the bedroom, I don't know Ladies?????
Sorry for all the ill Loppies, lots of oooohhhhhhhhmmmmmmsssss for all. And the pooters too.
Thanks for the links everyone.
Maeve - that's great news about the tests. Must be a relief for you.
Eva - thank you. I will let you know.
Jill - thank you. I just emailed Sue1 and was saying that it would be such a shame if I do manage to brave the train on my own and then not to meet up with other loppies. Fingers crossed I can work something out.
Geri - well I'm used to looking Goofy so no problem there.
Oh and Geri, I probably don't need to tell you this but I think I can cope with the 16 rated version!! Please, Please, Please!!
Actually, Karen, part of chapter X was written with just you in mind...
Well you live and learn don't you. Never heard of toothpaste for cold sores, cheaper than Zovirax, though that is good if you catch them really early. Thanks Geri though it would be nice if I never needed it!
Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase the 16 rated chapter. Pretty please with a cherry and whipped cream on it.
No Jill we weren't in the getter, we were in the bedroom!
Hey can I join you in the gutter? it looks fun splashing about in there!
Good news about those tests Maeve!
Maggie I'm so glad you liked the pictures.
Loppies I can heartily recommend the naughty + version of chapter X - just keep fans handy and don't let your Ploppy walk into the room while reading (like mine bloomin' did!)
Oooooo Geri, intriguing!!!!
Grr! I just lost a post!
I was saying this is a very nice gutter, clean and well-maintained -- but that's probably because of the amount of activity it sees each day.
Pauline & Karen want all the naughty bits. Now why aren't I suprised? Does anyone remember those 3-D glasses they used to have in the cinema? You wore the glasses if you wanted to see the ghosts or the monsters (supposedly), and didn't wear them if you didn't want to see them. Shame we can't come up with something similar for the story.
JaneE,- as I don't have a Ploppy, I'm not worried. Bring it on, I say!
Maeve - glad your tests Ok. Nurse refused to give me flu jab - as i was too ill! and then told me off as if I had remembered my previous appt i wouldnt be so ill now- so crawled out of surgery feeling 10 times worse than when i went in.
Eva email me re madeira _ i forget everything,as you know. We are staying in funchal so would be good to have another (after Dublin) overseas loppy meet.
geri - we could have forgetful as my adjective as that also alliterative BUT that only applies to Fi and so can i go with fragrant for Fifi? Like felicitous too but fragrant sounds more romantic, mysterious - one can dream...
ali did you get my email?
maggie - I have given in and bought your recommended cold/flu remedy so off to bed now with some.
It's voting time, ladies! What's On Stage has starting their nominations for this year's different theatre awards. You DO remember who won Newcomer Of The Year last year? Here is the link:
http://www.whatsonstage.com/index.php?pg=207&story=E8821225734992&title=Nominations+Open+in+Theatregoers%27+Choice+Awards
Fi,- I'll e-mail you.
Aw Fi! Hope you feel better soon Ohhmmm Ohmmm Ohmmm!
Eva - sometimes not having a Ploppy is an advantage!
It's Spooks time!
JaneE,- yes, I know. A lot of the time!
Where has this evening gone!
Oh yeah - into the gutter! But it was fun!
Sweet Meads Loppies!
Maeve, good news about your test results. Extra OOOHHHHHMMMMS for Fi.
Geri….Naughty or Naughtier ….the mind boggles
Good news with your test results Meave.
Oh how can you ask us Geri you know the answer....got fan at the ready and a gutter place reserved.!.
Oh geri you will have to get in line for that one.!!!!WHY CANT I PAINT NOT FAIR1
yes it is voting time again.
ok better be off ninite all xxxxx.
will wave madly at Eva as we are passing!
sweet meads.
Well jo goes through it Spooks doesn't she! I've said it before but I just love Ros!
Glad your test results were ok Maeve. Fi I hope you feel better soon, lots of ohhhhhhhmmmmms.
Thanks for the good wishes and usual Loppy kindness.
What a rotten time you're having Fi, horrid old nurse, still you've got Madeira to look forward to, rather a long time ahead though.
I've been trying to think of an alliterative adjective to describe Rave for you Geri, and think that ravishing, resourceful or resolute might do.
I thought RA was excellent on Spooks tonight.
I had a medical on Friday, luckily (or you may say, surprisingly) all OK (except for brain, neck, legs, toe, but I knew about them), just waiting for the blood results. Must the time of year for MOTs.
Jane is being very naughty and tempting me to bunk off work for a whole day soon (well, I'm sure she meant me to book a day's holiday). I'll have to check. Naughty, naughty Jane.
Better go now. Just to let you know I won't be here until late tomorrow, if anyone is waiting for a forward from the group email address.
Nightlee night
I've been watching a recording of last week's Have I got News For You where Tom Baker, a former Time lord?, is the presenter. What an absolutely irritating man! Is it only on this program or is he usually as cheesy as this?
Never mind,- it's time to go to bed, so good night all, sleep tight, have wonderful dreams and wake up happy.
Only got time to say nite nite Loppies. x
Ooo-er, I'm RED!!
Thank you all sooo much for the ohhhmmmssss, you guys are so sweet.
I'm depressed - how can DT just up and leave me - especially after our lovely evening together sob, sob, sob, do'ya know what, you think you know a guy.................
At last my cold has receeded but nose still blistered (not a pretty sight)! Something happened to me on Sunday, I fainted, it's never happened to me before. There I was happily anticipating the next chapter, booted up my pooter, started reading and bam, so shocked I fainted (sorry if I alarmed any of you - I know I'm naughty)!
Love the storyline Geri and the illustrations Jane, such good fun.
Fi, sorry to hear you're ill, ohhhmmmsss for you.
Karen, ohhhmmmsss for your cold sores.
Pauline, love the hair, it's very you ;)
Maeve, pleased to hear of your results, yours too Jo.
Sue1, sorry to hear about you fish ;(
Diana, thanks for the link on Killimanjaro - so up my street! Gemma's in a strop because she's a star and no-one's asked her! I've told her there's no way she could manage it in her stilleto's, oh dear she's heard me now she's off again, having another rant. Don't fancy GB's chances next time she see's him!
Geri, SueX, how about Spirited?
Sue suggested a couple for me - laugh a minute Linx or Luscious Linx?
Ohhmmmsss to all in need.
Nighlee night Loppies XX
Mega ohhhmmmssss for SueX and Carol's pooter.
OOOPS, forgot to say, SueX asked me to say 'hi' and send a big wave to you all, she's missing you all.
She's completely bummed with her pooter and is suffering with major withdrawal symptoms from our lovely blog. XX
Linx glad you are feeling better but ohhhmmms for your pooor nose, it must match Karens lip! Waving back at Suex missing her, Hope she gets her pooter sorted soon. Lots of techie problems around again. Ohhhhhhmmmms for all sick pooters. Thanks about the hair, I'm glad you think so.
Time for my bed so night night all sleep tight.
Jo, sorry I meant to say thanks for putting the MM vids on youtube - such good fun!
Pauline, yes I'm sure Karen and I are both looking just gorgeous at the moment.
XX
Linx? You fainted? You don't mean you actually passed out, do you? When is your MOT due? And I know she's awfully affectionate, but I wouldn't let Karen go kissing you on the nose again. She's a lovely lady but you don't know where she's been! I have your adjective (you wouldn't want to pick one for Suex, while you're at it?), and yours, Maeve. Ooh, fun!
Now, BHB, I'm ahead of schedule this morning - I've already had breakfast and I'm ready for work, so I'm all yours, so to speak! Uh-oh, the blue blanket, well as long as you tell them it was your idea. So did you want me to tell you about chapter X's naughty bits? No, you want a demonstration? Ooh!
Forgot to mention: Those of you who came on the Dublin pub crawl will remember the segment of Waiting for Godot that was performed. The play is coming to the Haymarket & stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. Sounds unmissable to me --come on, who doesn't LOVE Beckett? No?
Oh dear Linx - we can't have you fainting! Better not read chapter X then! (Seriously - I hope you're OK)
Waiving at Suex!
Jo - Me - Naughty? All I did was mention the matinee! Mind you it was Karen tempted me to the matinee in the first place!
Eva - Tom Baker was the best Dr Who before DT arrived. In my opinion.
Good grief Geri! What are you up to? Demonstrating chapter X to BHB? No, no, you're doing it wrong - I'll take over!
Oops OOHHMMS for Carol and Suex's PCs. OHHMMS for all poorly Loppies.
Geri - for a start, you don't!
Morning all. Another grey autumn day here. The autumnal bit shouldn't come as a surprise. After all, it is November, isn't it?
Hello sweetheart. You look a bit ruffled today. WHAT? ? ? ? ? Geri and JaneE has demonstrated chapt.X to you? Por boy, no wonderf you look shocked. It must have been an awful experience. No ? No ? No ? (sounds familiar. Do you think he's seen Joseph? He is very dramatic too.) And Geri used the blue blanket? Now I must say,- that's going to far! Which colour can we use, do you think? Now, JaneE's been and gone and Jo never pop in on a weekday morning, so how about a purple one? Ah, you already thought about it, I see. It's laying ready on the sofa, next to the paper.
Breakfast? Yes, now you mention it, I wouldn't mind a fried egg, sunny side up, to go with toast and crisp bacon. BHB, do you know one of the reasons I love coming here of a morning? Except for seeing you, of course. It's the breakfast. I never get breakfast fare like that in RL. Not at home, anyway. When I stay at the Loppies' headquarter in London, SP, I do indulge in a fry-up. One thing I do have in RL, is a large mug (or two) of strong, leaded coffee, so I'll have one of those too, please.
This is getting cosy: The fire lit, You and Me on the sofa, newspaper at the ready, us draped in the purple blanket...............Right, let's lock the rest of the world out!
Geri,- love Becket? Not really, no. I have seen WFG, and it wasn't exactly a laugh a minute. Not that all plays I see have to be funny, but when you start looking at your watch during the play, it isn't really riveting, is it?
I'm expecting company this morning. If my luck holds out, it will be another young, handsome man! Yes, I'm having my radiator replaced. So hopefully except for hurting my bank account, the whole thing will be painlessly over in a few hours time!
Jo,- I meant to ask last night: What is wrong with your brain? As far as I can see, it's one of the best brains in LoppyLand!
Linx,- even if you still sound a bit nasal, it's lovely to see you. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Now Gemma sounds just like my Diva. Do you think we should let them meet? Clashes of two strong personalities could be interesting, don't you think?
Morning all, bit earlier this morning but I have an MOT appointment at the doctor, must be something in the time of year!
Geri, WFG is coming to a theatre near me. While I'd love to see IM and PS, I'm struggling with the idea of Becket though. If I want depressing I don't really need to go to the theatre.
Not sure Gemma and Diva should meet Eva, could produce a clash of the Titans, not a great idea!
Ohhhhhhmmmms for sick people and poor lips and noses, and also ohhhhmmms for sick computers.
Morning BHB, I see the blue blanket was popular again today. Now I don't want blanket wars on my hands, so I have bought several blue blankets, we now have azure, turquoise, sky blue, indigo as well as the regular blue one (which is the one in any other blue I can't think of! So we will test drive the azure one I think, oooh yes now that has wonderful snuggle factor, yum!
Lots of oooooohhhhhmmmmms for our poorly Loppies.
I am off to Pinewood at lunchtime for a West End Musical ,Weakest Link recording, I didn't get tickets for the SCD one which is being recorded tonight.
Morning, sorry running late again - thought I was going to have an easy day - no bosses in, but again the other two secretaries have rung in sick! Boo! Still no life in the laptop - I keep sneaking up on it and turning it on in the hope it will suddenly burst into life, but no joy! Lots oh ooooohhhhhhhmmmmmmmms for the sick and poorly (and the poorly pooters of course!). Karen DCL - you know you can do it - take P2's advice and think GO thoughts! I am all for the 16 X rating pretty please Lepry Laureate - although I suspect Chapter 9 is what caused major meltdown of my pooter!! OK BHB come out from under that blanket - lovely colour by the way - time to sort out receipes for tomorrow. We'll leave the cold breakfast buffet out (usual cold meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, cream cheeses, smoke salmon and assorted breads) and put out some scrambled eggs, grilled bacon, grilled sausages and mushrooms and tomatoes for those requiring something hot. Bless he's already made up all the speciality coffees and done some smoothies as well. Bye for now (gently closes door).
That was a nice visit with a nice young man! Today's plumber wasn't as handsome as the one who was here last week, but he earned himself a coffee with his cheery "me dear" and a lovely smile. Installing the new radiator went without a hitch, and the only painful bit was parting with the cheque! I hope there are no more catastrophies to come. I can't afford it!
Another RowA ticket arrived from SEE this morning. The drawer where my show tickets, hotel reservations and train tickets rest, are so full now that I've arranged them by dates!
When I have posted this, I have to close down the pooter for a while. I'm going to rearrange the furniture, because tomorrow I'm off to Ikea to buy two new book cases! They have a corner unit which will fit in very well, and which will allow me better use of the available wallspace. However that means moving my computer desk around and moving a large bookcase. That again involves disconnecting all the computer cables and.............I feel hot and bothered just thinking about it, but it has to be done, so come on, Eva,- GET ON WITH IT!
Ooo Jill - enjoy that recording - it should be fun!
Pauline - all the best for your MOT.
Oh dear, I'm away a couple of hours and Eva has grabbed the purple blanket (and chatted up another plumber) and now Carol has grabbed the BHB. Oh well!
Good luck with the furniture removals Eva, mind your back, you're very brave to unplug all the bits, I'd never dare to do that, I'm sure I'd never get all the leads back in the right place.
I wonder if there will be an announcement of the new Joseph today, Scott what have you heard?
WFG with IM and PS does sound a treat Geri, I first saw it in the wilds of Devon as a student when I was at Exeter, the drama soc. laid on a coach, I couldn't make head or tail of it, I've seen it a few times since and actually it's not really depressing it's quite funny.
Yohoooooooooooooo,- I'm back and online again! (I'm sweating too, but that was expected.) I didn't lift a lot, - it was more pushing and pulling. The desk is now tucked cosily in a corner under the stairs, all the cables are back where they are supposed to be and the room looks different!
Maeve,- I don't mind disconnecting the computer cables. I know where they are going. It's the crawling around on my knees and getting up again that I mind!
I think it's newspaper and coffee time. Yes, BHB, we can have another round. JaneE didn't nick the purple blanket!
This is hilarious. A different ALW tribute:

Hello! Just thought I would let everyone know that according to the Radio Times (the mag not the online version), Lee and Denise will be on between 11.00 – 11.30 for Children in Need. I quote ‘and theres music from Boyzone as well as Lee Mead and Denise Van Outen.’ It looks like a really good evening and if you want to know more about who is on when then its all in the Radio Times! Can’t wait!
It is a birthday today. No not from me, I just turned 27 a couple of monts ago, it is my Sloppy. Hurray!! She got a mobil phone as a birthday gift and I probably are spending the rest of the evening explaning to her how it works. She still doesn’t get the video-player she got four years ago so I am not holding my breath.
Eva have fun with the new bookcases. I love moving my furniture in my living room. It looks like a whole new room when you are finished.
Geri I have been thinking of more adjectives for Dutch beginning with a D ( it is a slow day at work). I came up with Deranged which is quite true sometimes but I like Dreamy too, which is much more ME especially the last year and a half.
Phew, finally made it here. These dratted pooters are enough to send you mad aren't they? Eva you were very brave disconnecting yours! I got soooo frustrated last night, I typed loads of stuff for Brownies and church and tried to email it to the relevant people, what a joke! Attachments wouldn't attach, addresses wouldn't load, browser closed..... I swore, threatened to chuck laptop out of window, spoke to it nicely and finally gave up and went to bed. I couldn't even log on this morning so switched everything off and started again, and here I am-finally!
Geri how about amazing, alluring, appealing, astounding, attentive or awesome Alley-Cat? Personally I like either the first or last one. Alison and AliB feel free to pick one of these suggestions too!
Fi I did get your email, I'll look at the diary and get back to you asap. How are you feeling today?
Ali - All Alisons are Amazing!!
I see we are going with the letters of our names, so D it is. My dictionary threw up the following:
dumb (no, she's not), deluded (yes, sometimes)devilish(as you well know), diplomatic (no, she's not!). Let's try the positive ones:
dazzling, dainty, daring, decorous, delectable, delicate, delightful, desirable, devoted, diligent, dishy, dizzy, divine (she'd love that!), doting, dramatic, dynamic.
Geri,- take your pick.
I like the sound of Divine Diva, and yes AliB all Alis/Alisons are amazing, awesome etc.etc.!!
No time to chat unfortunately as got to go out in about 40mins, ploppy will moan if I don't spend a bit of time with him when I get back so I'll wish you all Goodnight and see you tomorrow
I think Dramatic Diva would suit her very well! Well done on getting your PC sorted Eva.
Ali B thanks for the info - I don't suppose there was a little piccy, was there?
Ali - you missed adorable.
Hi all, I'm home after a particularly grueling day at work. We're coming up to the holidays and I have to ensure there's enough staff for every department over that period. Only my boss is giving annual leave to everyone who asks him which means I don't have enough people to go around & the Big Boss won't let me bring in agency staff. Ever hear of the girl who had to turn straw into gold? Meet her sister.
Right, I'll stop whining. I need to finish chapter X which means no more adjectives, please. Every time you suggest a new one I have to do a re-write and much as I love you all, and I say this with true affection: AAARRRGGGGHHHHH! OK, I feel better now.
Evening all
Linx - of course we both look gorgeous - even a scabby nose and lip can't change that!! (Sorry if I've just put anybody off dinner!). Hope your nose is improving (sorry that sounds like an insult but you know what I mean!).
Geri - I tried your toothpaste remedy (boy did it sting!! Yes I know I'm a wuss!). It's wonderful - it hasn't helped much yet with the cold sores but it did act as an alternative last night to the excuse "darling I have a headache"!!!!!!! One look at me wearing tootpaste lipstick and no excuse was necessary!! HeHe.
Oh and another thing Geri - what do you mean you don't know where I've been! Cheek!! The gutter?? Well, yes okay, point taken!
Sorry you had a bad day, btw.
Jo - Jane blames me for everything - getting her drunk, persuading her to buy more tickets (er, hang on, I guess she's right on both counts!!). Anyway, hope she's managed to persuade you!!
Ohms for Suex - we miss you. And Carol's laptop. And all poorly loppies.
And special ohms for K2 - she's having a bit of a manic time at the moment and she's flying over for her Aunt's funeral tomorrow. She asked me to say Hi to you all though.
OOHHMM OHHMM OHHMMM K2! I was wondering how you're doing.
Just had a text from Jo4 - I am an evil tempty temper Loppy (but Karen started it! Honest)
Hold on Geri! I wanna change lady Jane's adjective to (Ow! Why are you hitting me so hard?)
Yes, Jane, you want to change your adjective to 'Evil Tempty Loppy-Lady Jane...'
Pauline, meant to say this morning, hope your MOT went well.
Sorry you've had a rubbish day Geri, just make sure you get plenty of time off over the holidays yourself.
Ooohhmms for K2 at this difficult time.
Hooooraaaaaaaaaaaaaay, I'm here, what do you mean you never missed me? Well I'll tell you. I went to the doctor this morning all ok, good. Came home was replying to an email when my connection went and wouldn't come back again. Had to get in touch with the help line, somewhere in India, grrr. Long chat taken through establishing another connection, fine shut down pooter then reopen all will be well...wrong! Another phone call to India, lady couldn't even get my phone number right (!) eventually passed me on to level two. Are you keeping up here? Oi will you please pay attention! Another long chat then she said insert the cd that came with the modem to uninstall and reinstall the modem. Haven't a clue where it is I'm going out to lunch so I'll find it and get back to you. Came home found cd booted up pooter and lo and behold here I am!! No idea what I did or how I did it. Now know how bereft you felt Eva!
Anyway only done a quick catchup, see you are having techie problems, all my sympathy and ohhmmmms for your pooter.
See your day has been rough Geri, so sorry and feel sympathy as well.
Anyway thanks for listening feel better for sharing and fingers crossed it doesn't happen again!
SEE are now booking until 18th July but it doesn't say who's taking over!!
Hm, I'm thinking Praline's adjective should be 'Persistent'. Diva wants to go with 'Dotty', OK. And the various incarnations of Alis are amazing, awesome and affectionate... Ooh, and the Kar'ns can be cuddly!
Karen, actually, I DO know where you've been -- that's why I was concerned, but I was too polite to say.
Ohms for K2 -- I really hope that's the last funeral you'll have to attend for a very long time.
Oh Persistant? Always knew I was a nuisance, sigh.
Eva I think you should go for DELECTABLE,suits you and of course you are.
Anne I know the feeling re the mobile for your Sloppy, we had Sky installed for Sloppy a couple of years ago, and she still hasn't managed to understand how to use it, she even asked last week, if Deal or no Deal was on the the same Channel on Sky as it was on the normal channels.
I have only just got back from Pinewood there was a long delay in the recording as some of the lighting was faulty, AR did ask Ben about ADWD and asked him who won, he said he couldn't remember laughing at the same time, and then AR said isn't he the fellow that is going out with DVO, it was a very light hearted show, and is due to go out sometime between Xmas and the New Year.
Ah Pauline! You've never been a nuisance! Ignore that Geri! Glad you're MOT went well and glad your back!
Geri - Kl'een is cuddly! You'll have to think of something else for the Karns! And of course lady J is 'tempting' oo-er! Nah, stick with gentle!
Geri,- when did "Dotty" signify anything positive? I rather liked the other suggestions - Dramatic and Divine!
Pauline,- all you have to do now is to wait until you get your telepfone bill for the time spent on the "help"line. Then you'll feel funny all over again! I've been there with AOL, and I know all about their Indian helpers called Bryan and Anthony!
I had a phonecall from my father telling me that my uncle died this morning. He was 89, so had good "innings" as you say. It was for the best,- he has been very ill for several months and stopped eating and drinking a couple of weeks ago. I've decided not to go home for the funeral. I saw him when I was last in Norway, so I feel I've said my goodbyes. I phoned my aunt, and she was really calm and fine about it. She said it came as a relief to them all.
Still, even when you're expecting it, it comes as a shock.
Persistent is a GOOD thing! Nothing would ever be accomplished without it! Jane, why do you keep turning my compliments into insults? First it was 'Uncompromising', then it was 'Blunt', now you're taking issue with persistent. I don't know. For punishment, you can make up the FINAL list of loppy adjectives for chapter ten. I've lost track completely by now (but I could do it if I was PERSISTENT enough!)PRRRRRBBBBT!
Excuse me Geri! I think you'll find it was Pauline that had the issue with persistent! How about persuasive?
And I reckon vivacious fits the Karns even if it doesn't alliterate.
Eva - sorry to hear about your uncle. Even when you are prepared it's still very upsetting
I know Persistant isn't negative it is just so ..worthy! amazing that p is in fact a very ordinary letter, all I can think of are playful, peerless, patient, provocative (!!) or of course there is pretty! Ah well whatever our illustious author wants is fine by me.
Pauline, you forgot the obvious. May I, as a humble author, suggest passionate?
Sorry to hear of your loss, Eva. Too many sad events in loppyland at present.
Carol, come back soon--we miss you!
Eva so sorry to hear your news,
By the way evrybodys pensil is now in a blue box??????
Er Jill, no mine's the same as normal.
Oooooo passionate Praline! Go with that Pauline!
And on that note i think I'd better head off.
OOOOHHHMMMMs for needy Loppies.
Sweet Meads all!
Ooohhhms to all in need and extra Ooohhhmmms for Karen2and her family. Eva, sorry to hear about your Uncle
I was looking at Craig’s web site today via Jo4’s link (thanks) and was reading the diary of the fan who’s house he stayed in for a week, has anyone else read it? He looked so much at home in the photo’s and I loved the bit about he’d never had shredded wheat before, and then later you read he loves his shredded wheat (at one time he had four!!)
I am liking passionate...a lot! Thankyou oh illustrious author!
Eva very self centred of me, so wrapped up in my own things. I am sorry about your Uncle. These things are never nice no matter what. Lots of ohhhhmmmms for you.
Btw you are right about the phone bill! I will have smelling salts at the ready.
No Jill my pencil is as normal....at the moment!
I know Carol is having severe withdrawal symptoms without her computer, fingers crossed they can fix it this weekend.
Thank you all for the ohms and kind thoughts. I'm trying to write letters to my 3 cousins who have lost a beloved father, so I think I'll say good night to you all. I know it's early, but i need to consentrate on the condolences letters.
Sleep tight, have wonderful dreams and wake up happy.
Have just had a lok at Roros' timeline and she has scanned the back page of this weeks' New magazine. It is about Lee with some nice photos and about his favourite things. All I can say is the man has impeccable taste! Here's the link:
http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb151/f1roro/Timeline/PRESS/New10Nov08.jpg
OMG, Pauline -- did he say he did a show in Dublin?! I may never recover!!
And now I have to try to focus on Romantic literature. Well, at least I'll have my romantic hero in mind as I read. Sweet Meads, all.
I know Geri, somehow thought you might notice that! Now if he sang with MB at another concert in Dublin, you would have a major Dublinfest on your hands!
Evening all, Ploppy’s back from his travels, still not told him about the extra Jo tickets!!
Hi Linx, nice to see you, love to Suex.
Karen, how’s your lip?
Eva, are your Ikea book cases Billy? I have a room full of Billy. I have looked at Ikea kitchens btw, and the choice at the moment is between them and Wickes. Not doing it till next year though, so got time to make my mind up.
Karen2, ohhhmmmss. Will be thinking of you.
Pauline2, glad your MOT went well, and what a clever Loppy, even if you don’t know what you did!!
Jill, sounds like a good show, pity Lee wasn’t on it!!
Eva, sorry about your uncle, even when it’s a ‘blessing’ it’s still upsetting to lose someone.
Maggie, I read that and thought ‘if only’ (not Craig though!!!)
Thanks for the links folks.
Better go, I’m at my old lady’s overnight all this week, couldn’t be worse timing with Ploppy’s return. Still more work = more tickets!! Nite nite Loppies. x
Sue, what your Ploppy does not know he'll not worry about.
Hi- I'm back a little early from W of E wick, I had a little Canaan days moment in the first half, so much so I felt sick. (I don't think it was a reflection on the show.) I decided for safety's sake I'd better leave at the interval, or the drive home might have been dangerous. It wasn't a barrel of laughs and it was odd hearing MP not speaking in a Scottish accent. I've not heard/seen the show before. The only song I really liked in the first half was one about dirty washing!! The set and staging was very good, explosions and flying, nice house fronts too. Thought the cast were good. One girl I couldn't hear properly, apart from that singing and dancing was good. Even MP put in some moves, which I must admit surprised me, as seeing on stage with WWW didn't think he could move well, he always looked a bit stiff.
Jane/Karen I think you both are bad bad influences, or I'm very easily led!!!
evening all back from travel hope you saw me wave like mad Eva. so sorry to hear of your loss. and oooohhhhmnmmmms to Karte2 and her family.
Still no word of who will take over. bother just phoned them to find out where my tickets were I should have asked if they had any news!.
ninite all got a lot to do tomorrow. Sweet Meads all
Jo you're very cryptic and I'm very slow, MP and WWW?
Sorry Maeve, Marti Pellow, Wet wet wet.
Thought you might have remembered from
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MbgPxWD_f1U
I'm one of the ones that usually avoids Cliffy clips, sorry!
Also sorry to hear you weren't feeling well and had to leave at the interval, hope you're better now.
Off to my bed now, so about to log off for the night. Fingers crossed I'll be back in the morning! I will be a bit late a sSloppy is on a course of three a day anti bis and I have to do the morning one. However if you don't hear from me you know I will be tearing my hair out!
Sorry you didn't feel too good Jo4, ohhhhhms that you feel better soon. Ohhhhhmmmmms for Fi, for fat lips, sore noses, sad loppies, sick computers and anyone else who I may have forgotten.
Night night all, sleep tight
Evening Loppies, ohhhmmmsss to all sick Loppies, MOT Loppies and sick pooters!
Geri, what about Sensual for Suex - feels a bit odd saying that about my own Sloppy.
As for Gemma, well it HAS to be GORGEOUS doesn't it! Sorry Geri, I can hear you screaming from here, sorry you've had a rough day X
Eva, I think we should definately get Gemma and Diva together so long as they both have incohol and an audience (also shades for you know who) they'll be happy!
Eva the ALW youtube tribute is 'pure dead brilliant' - this has to be said with a strong Glaswegian accent for effect.
Sorry to hear of your uncle's passing Eva X
Ohhhmmmsss to K2 XX
Karen, it's so nice to be told you're gorgeous even when your nose is yukky - right back atcha, hope your cold sores clear up soon and as we know, there's nothing wrong with being in the gutter, you sometimes meet the nicest people there. Pauline thanks for the link to Roro's Timeline, it's always a pleasure to look at!
Hi Sue1 'wave', I've got a couple of Billy bookcases too!
Jo4, hope you're feeling ok.
SueX send her love to all and hope to be back in Loppyland soon.
What a lovely surprise, hello BHB, he's looking very relaxed and happy. Oh bless, he's come round to cheer me up after the crushing blow DT dealt me. Thanks BHB, a lovely cup of coco each and a good long snuggle under this lovely soft blue blanket you've brought with you (hope he doesn't notice my nose!!!) think, think, think, how to distract him, hmmm maybe this will work................................................
Sweet dreams all XX
Feeling 'normal' now thank you. Sorry Maeve, inflicting the clip on you, with no warning too.
Eva, sorry to hear about your uncle, good that you were able to see him when you were last over there.
Gemma, sorry Linx, please send my regards to SueX.
Better go now.
Nightlee night
Good morning, all, it's a new day, isn't it? Wow, I can't believe he pulled it off! B Obama, I mean, obviously. My (American) daughter is thrilled.
Jo, I'm another who was confused: I thought MP was Michael Parkinson or Mandy Patinkin -- in either case I was confused. And WWW is always going to be Wise Wizard Webber to me! Sorry you weren't feeling well, though, hope you're all-better today. Pauline, I can't possibly beat that all-encompassing good wishes comment: fat lips, sore noses, etc., so I'll just add my good wishes to yours.
Aw, BHB looks so sweet when he's asleep (or awake). Sorry, pet, I didn't mean to wake you; I'll just go get some tea and tiptoe out... No? You want company under that sky-blue blanket? Well, if you insist, since I am early this morning, I can probably entertain you for a little while...
Good Morning!
Happy Wednesday! Lots of Ohhhmmmmss needed I see - so big breath - Ohhmmmms for K1, K2, Carol, Suex, Fi, Linx, Eva's cousins and sorry if I've missed anyone.
Jo4 - yeah, Karen & I know we're bad influences, but you love us really! Hope you're feeling better now - sorry you had to miss the second half.
Linx - I shall be seeing DT on Saturday, shall I tell him off for you? (Honest it's true, I'm going to see hamlet with a big group of friends)
Geri - I'm so pleased that your dollop's choice for president has won. She must be delighted. Oh and I know what Romantic Literature you were studying last night (chapter X Loppies, that's what it was).
Hello BHB - has Geri left you now? Well I'll keep you company. (Snuggle)
Morning all. I think it'll be another grey day. It's hard to say when it's still half dark. Not too cold though.
Hello sweetheart. What's this? The blue blanket has been used again? Geri and JaneE? I'm sure that's JaneE's revenge for us using the purple one yesterday. No, I want a new blanket, won't do anything second hand (so to speak!).
Deep sigh...........It has to be the purple one again! (That'll teach her!)
I know it's not very cold today, but do you think we could light the fire again? You do? (Whispers in my ear.) You wicked boy! Who teaches you things like this? You've been proofreading Chapter X? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Well, if you insisit.
(We'd better draw a blanket over what follows here!)
Sue1,- yes, of course it's Billy bookcases. I bought my first one back in 1974 and it's still going strong along with it's 6 brothers and sisters. How many times they've been dismantled and put together again I've lost count of, but whatever you think about Ikea, you can't beat them on quality! I'm the Loppy expert on assembling Ikea furniture. It holds no mystery for me!
JaneE,- you can tell DT off for upsetting some of the Loppies, as long as you make him understand that the loaning of the Tardis goes on when his successor takes over!
I'm starting to get excited about my trip to Ikea. My friend, Kari, will pick me up later. As she is one of those Jill-of-all-trades, she has a van (and a white one at that!), which of course is what I need for my purchases. We'll have lunch, Swedish meatballs, of course, and then spend a happy hour or two browsing and (probably) spending even more.
It looks like Obama has done it! Yippppeeeeee! (for Geri's dollop, of course. I know we don't do politics here!)
Morning all. emerging from the land of the dead. What a fab day - sorry i know we dont do politics but hearing the news from USA it does feel like standing on the edge of something new/dawn of a new day etc. Even scollop excited(ish). i do hope AB can live up to the , very high, expectations.
I thought same as geri for WWW (either that or world wide web) but I have to say most abbreviations miss me by. it is interesting as all my clients are from overseas and many comment on the jargonisitc/acronym world we live in UK. They better not enter loppyland.
Ohhms to Eva and to K2.
Must dash to work - which is absolutely foul at moment. redundancies looming esp at senior management level (not me) and so everyone is fraught and I have had my hand smacked so many times by managers (proving what useful jobs they do!!!) that have just decided to do very little - as that way i cant do anything wrong. Grrr
Morning, morning - Fi - sympathies we are just going through the same process (starts official today) - ohhhhhhmmmmmmmmsss not just for Loppies but for those who are made redundant at the moment. Horrid process! Well I see the pooter germs are spreading.............I think it is all part of the Evil Aus plot! Off to see Zorro tonight, so will report back! OK a grey dull day here, so hot brekkies to cheer us all up, but first some Cham Cham. BHB has already produced lots of lovely speciality coffee, and has the porridge on the go. Today we will have kedgeree, grilled bacon on lightly toasted ciabatta, toasted bagels with scrambled egg and smoked salmon, toasted bagels with scrambled egg and mushroom, egg and potato saute, grilled tomatoes and of course speciality breads - walnut, soda, olive oil and sundried tomato, wholemeal, rye - you name it we have it! Now BHB and I will go and get cracking in the kitchen (shuts door firmly).
Morning all, well I am here thank goodness. Must admit I logged on to the internet in great trepidation, but so far all is well. Phew.
Fi glad you are feeling a bit better, but sorry you are having a horrid time at work. Carol as well, these are dark days . Lets hope all affected get something else, and that things take a turn for the better in the not too distant future.
Also no politics but have to say congrats to Barrack Obama. It really is a defining moment in history, wonderful.
Right best get on, have an appointment with CLL later to go and see Zorro.
Ohhhhmmmmms for K2 and Eva and for all in need of them.
Morning BHB, now I see you look very relaxed, isn't Wednesday usually a busy day for you? Oh I see you have the week off. Well it is very good of you to come and work here. What you'd miss us too much if you didn't awww. Well we would miss you too. Now let's see, aha, I see Eva has missed all the various shades of blue blankets I have now supplied, so we can use the azure one. Now get out of that kitchen and come here!
Sorry Fi but I am being a S.O.B. who is AB?????? or can anybody else tell me.
Really feel for all of you that have people being made redundant, sometimes you don't quite realise, how it affects the person concerned.
Carol, Zorro was on the Weakest Link yesterday.
A bit fed up our stair carpet was due to be fitted today, and they have just phoned to say it has a crease in it, so can't be fitted till crease goes.

V busy so no time to "chat" unfortunately
Hi all,
Great morning here across the sea. Hopefully all the crazyness has ended over here and we can get back on track now.
Hope you enjoy Zorro, Carol and Pauline. I thought it was a good show :)
Hugs and ohmmmmmms to all those under the weather
(and hoping I can get this message to post - must sprinkle some magic BHB dander on my keyboard)
Sorry to hear about your work situations Carol and Fi - it's a worrying time.
Eva you enjoy going to Ikea? OK then! Have a fun time.
Pauline and Carol - enjoy Zorro.
Now to check Diana's link...
Hi there Ringer! You sneaked in while I was posting. Whatever the BHB did worked!
I went to Zorro last week - it's great fun. However, you do have to make sure that you don't get stalls seats that are too far back under the overhang of the circle. Unlike most shows at the Garrick, Zorro uses the full height of the stage, and from about Row P back, you'll end up missing some of the swordfights and stuff that go on at higher levels.
Oh thankyou for that Scott, not sure where we are sitting, as Carol has organised it, but looking forward to it.
Hi Ringer, it must have been a really fantastic atmosphere over there. Don't take it amiss if I say I'm glad it's over as the whole process seems to have lasted forever!
Hi Jane
Yea!
I've tried to post a few times but lost it to the aether.
Hello! Well, that was all rather exciting last night wasn't it? I know we don't discuss politics on here but it was the right result! (Jill, AB should be BA - Barack Obama!! - I think it was mistyped!).
Jane E - Sadly no little piccie in the RT about CIN.
So it shouldn't be AB, or BA, but BO?
Scott - Good point! Maybe I should have thought about it abit more before I typed it!! I just assumed that was who Fi meant without thinking about the letters!!

Hi Scott - thanks for that info on Zorro - won't actually know what seats I have until I get to the theatre as it was part of the £10 10th Anniversary Last Minute.com extravaganza - all I know is we are in the stalls. Will report back tomorrow. Someone in my office saw the show in preview and really enjoyed it, so I have high hopes, even though it may not be starring a certain someone! Night to you all! See you in the morning!
Ok hands Up. One I got the initials wrong and Two I did what complain about others for - used abbreviations. My excuse - that is as much of alphabet as I Know . Alib - i should have checked a lot more before I sent it. Scott - I promise not to get my BO mixed up again!
NB that's why only 2 points above - can only count up to 2 too!
In a sulk as got told today at work that because I had met my years targets in less than 6 months unlikely I would be continued in my new role but moved back to prev work. ie you did well but showing rest of us up so on yer bike. I do so hate the public sector and the target culture at times. grrrr grrr and double grr.
Fi - I wouldn’t worry, I merrily typed the wrong initials too, the worrying thing is I would never have noticed it until clever old Scott pointed it out!! Hope your job gets sorted out.
It's so easy to mix up initials, isn't it?
Thanks for the link Diana
JaneE,- do yoy want some Norwegian ones to practice on?
Hi all. Yes, I'm back from Ikea, and I enjoyed it very much. Did I only buy the bookcases? Of course not,- what a question! I ended up with a new rug for the living room, which I'm very pleased about, as I have been looking for the right one for a long time. I got a new mirror for my bedroom, with a frame of beautiful, blue mosaic.( How did you guess my favourite colour is blue?). It goes so welll with the white and blue walls and white furniture. Some clotheshangers went into the basket, a pillow and a Christmas present for Kari (I let her choose it herself). In the foodshop I couldn't resist the meatballs, a Christmas ham, the almond cake and the cinnamon buns! Kari was really only coming along as the chauffeur, but ended up spending almost as much as me!
Hi Ringer,- good to see you. Congrats on your new President!
Scott dear,- maybe you should start an alphabeth course? I'll do the Norwegian one for a price!
Hi All, I was poorly at work and had to leave early. Ulcer doesn't like stress -- enough said.
Fi, I remember an old joke of Robin Williams' -- 'I keep getting my wucking fords muddled!' Glad you're feeling better; hope everyone else is on the mend too and various body parts are no longer scaring the children. Carol, any news on the computer? Ohmm...
Hi, Scott! Bye, Scott!
Geri,- found this link. Isn't he one of your great favourites? Maybe you can get in a visit when you're in London for Lee's last night?:
http://www.whatsonstage.com/index.php?pg=207&story=E8821225807441&title=Mandy+Patinkin+Brings+Live+Songbook+to+West+End
OMH -- SQUEEEEEEEAAAAALLLLLL!!!! I LOVE Mandy! Anyone else thinking of going? I need to completely re-think January now!
hi all . congratulations on your new president Ringer.
OOOOhhmmmmmmmmssssss for those who need it.
I know May DT could give his role to our Go in 2 years time he would make a great timelord.
Church meeting now so bye for now..xxxx
Evening all
I am a nervous wreck. I HATE FIREWORKS.
Sorry about my initials thing last night, was trying not to use full names as didn't want to pop up in G alerts.
I'm fine now, was telling someone at work today and they said perhaps it was what I was watching.
Fi and Carol sorry to read about work situations.
Eva, sounds like an expensive day, or did you save enough for another ticket?
Hi and bye Scott, nice to see you drop in, hope you found it all tidy and ship shape. How is Scotella-Susan?
Oh Fi, sorry I should have realised whom you meant, and I can't believe what you have to put up with at your work, talk about dumbing down, I must admit I am glad to be out of the workplace, especially as I now would have been working for Gordon Brown.
Aw Karen! It's not a good night for you. Next door's have just sent up some huge rockets! But they didn't invite me to the party!
Karen,- so do I. Because of the noise, nothing else. It's a waste of money anyway down here at the moment. The fog is so thick that you can't see anything!
Jo4,- my ticket account is separate from everything else and never seems to run dry!
Fi,- what you tell about what happened at work today, reminds me of what you told about your Ploppy: That he was moved from his position because his invention actually started earning money for the Government!
Just found a quite long interview with Daniel Boys on a Dutch website.
He talks about Avenue Q, ADWD and Lee.
It starts with a Dutch commentary but about 1 minute into the clip the interview starts.
http://www.musicalworld.tv/index.php/mwtv/detail/musicalworldtv_daniel_boys/
Just a quickie, Ploppy is wathching Top Gear and Davina Mccall was on, Diana I think she really looks like you???????anybody else think that.
I found another clip
The presenter (big musical fan) is in London and going to see al kind of musicals.
In this clip he is going to Joseph (1 minute into the clip) He likes it a lot.
You see a big chunk of CED and a scrum. I was hoping for an interview but sadly no.
After Joseph you see him at Avenue Q. At the stage door he meets Daniel. Which was the favourite Joseph of the presenter.

oooo - how great is that... I finally get onto the blog and there's this brilliant news re Mandy.. Geri, I'm up for it.... tickets for his show that is - after the 10th Jan of course... Eva, thanks for that link. And oo, I have Lenny Cohen again next week...
Haven't been able to get onto blog for varying reasons. I printed off about 10 pages (double sided & reduced font of course)so I'm fairly caught up.
Wanted to say yesterday, to Jo - I definitely experienced the 'Tuesday' syndrom.
Fireworks are quite splendid around here, coming from all sides. We have our 'work' one tomorrow, which the business park make a big thing of it and do put on a splendid show.
Oh and thanks for that link to vote for the anti bullying coat Diana. Have done my bit. And also for the Oliver link - really pleased that Sarah's got a spot in the show. Not quite sure I like the way CMcI is still not showing faith in JP by bringing in an ex Nancy - of course I could be reading more into it than it warrants... but still.
Real b****r happened. Stocked up last night on groceries etc., and the freezer door didn't shut properly (who didn't close it properly? come on.. own up? was it you?) so I may as well have given my money away last night. Grrrmph.
Ooohhhmmmmsss for all those 'at risk'. I was in meeting today as a colleague's 'redundancy buddy' (not from my department I hasten to add - in fact we've just hired another team member) as someone who's been there done that.
Hurrah for BO. Whatever your politics, another massive Historical moment in this world.
Hi there Ringer - great to see you here. Come back and visit again please.
Hope Carol and Pauline are enjoying Zorro.. look forward to the review...
Oh and Eva, when I next shop at Ikea, can I have to come round as my 'flat packer builder'??
Off to check out your link now Anne. It's great to see you back here by the way.
Hope the connection to server lasts a little longer tonight. See you later.
Here is an interview with ALW back in 1982. He must be 36 years old, but looks like he's 14! Aaaaawwwwwwwww:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1VniAJFFNcY&feature=related
Hi there Auds!
Thanks Anne for the link - Daniel is lovely!
Sweet Meads!
Ooh, lucky Auds getting to see the lovely Lenny again. I'm so jealous! I'd love to see Mandy but timing is an issue (as is cash, I'm afraid). I'll e-mail you.
I'm going to hit the poetry books so I'll bid you sweet Meads.
Auds,- of course my expertise will be at your disposal!
Great news from across the Pond this morning, last time I got excited about an American President I was very young and his name was Jack Kennedy, he had such charisma, I was heartbroken when he was shot. This seems like a new dawn.
Jane, do blow DT a kiss from me, lovely man.
Diana, thanks for the link, it will be good to see Sarah Lark in Oliver.
Hi Scott, nice to ‘see’ you.
Fi, you seem to be having a rough time of it at work, have a few ohhhmmmss.
Carol, some for you at work, and more for your laptop, ohhhmmmsss.
Eva, Glad you enjoyed Ikea, I always do.
Hi Auds, sounds like the sort of daft thing I would do. I pulled the plug on ours once before we went on holiday!! Well I was pulling out all the plugs as you do when you go away, hmmm.
Nite nite Loppies.x
I've been converting a 'naughty' video from a dvd to mp3 for my ipod. It looks rather long, I'll play it tomorrow at work to see if it worked. I have been trying for months to work out how to do it. Might try with some other similar dvds another time, now I have the 'technology'.
Poor Auds, the Tues 'thing' is painful. I always used to catch me, as I used to think, I must have got used to it by now.
Thanks for the links everyone.
Evening. Condolences to Eva and K2 and oohhmms for fi, Carol and others. I will take a few oohhmms for BinL if that's ok as his job is looking rather shaky at the moment, and on a selfish note if he loses his job then I lose mine childminding their scollop! Very uncertain times for many of us.
On a more positive note congrats to Ringer and Geri's dollop, hopefully a brighter future for those across the pond?
Still no news on Go's replacement I see, thought the powers that be may have made an announcement by now.
Re:fireworks, my poor cat is petrified. She was sitting on the window ledge when there was a loud bang and she skidded off, across the table sending everything flying. Her daughter on the other hand is completely unfazed.
I'll wish you all sweet meads.
I've had a bit of a roller coaster of a week. First there was the refusal of my early retirement application. Then on Saturday I went to a christening. The darling little boy is the son of a friend I met when I went back to college in 1999. Over the weekend I heard that a work colleague had passed away. She had been unwell for a long time but it was still a shock. It was heartening to see so many workmates turn up at her funeral. And this afternoon I went to Dollop's graduation. As I watched her in her cap and gown go up to receive her science degree, I thought that's my little girl and felt rather emotional. BTW she hates when I refer to her as my little girl coz she's five foot ten.
Geri - I've been trying to come up with a word to describe me but finding it difficult. I've been looking for a word that means that I believe in bending and swaying in whatever turmoil RL churns up because as the song says - whatever doesn't break you makes you stronger. Anyway the only words that come to mind are rubber and elastic!!! Any suggestions? (Be kind)
Jenny Dublop
Jenny,- it really hasn't been your week, has it? But it must have been nice to see your dollop graduate, even if it dates you a bit?
If the words are going to start with a J, all I could come up with is: jazzy, jaunty, joyful. To go with rubber and elastic: adaptable?
To continue on the ALW thread, listen to Sarah Brightman singing here. Very strange lyrics:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QRvrk3dPA7U&feature=related
flexile, resilient, springy, supple
Jenny my fav is resilient!!
Better go now
Nightlee night all
Just peeked in before heading off to bed -- must be tellopathy, Jenny. Jenny, how about 'Resiliant'? I think that fits your description (and you) pretty well.
Sue, I remember seeing JFK when he came to Dublin in '62 (yes, I know, I'm only 27) When the memorial tour came to town a couple of years later I snuck past the barrier and sat in his famous rocking chair.
Thanks for the links everyone. Lovely to see the always sweet Daniel -- especially when he's so lovely about Lee, as he always is.
Sweet Meads, one and all.
Just popped back to add- Jenny, you must be very proud of the cap and gown moment. Made me feel guilty of depriving my mum of her moment.
And to say whoooopeee, I picked the same word as the LL. (Must be all the 'dodgy' reading I've been doing recently, Geri!!)
Really am away now.
The dark lilac blanket has been washed with a little lavender oil to make it just nice for snuggling, if anyone wants it it is warming gently on the radiator.
Thank you Anne for that link lovely to see Daniel again,so generous about the GO.
Jenny well done your dollop and graduation , you must feel so proud, photp please.
Ninite all Sweet Meads Still think the Go would make a terrific DW!
The new rumours are that WY will be taking over . We shall see cannot be long to come the announcement. I suppose he could be good not a patch on our boy as NO ONE will ever be.
ok Bye xxxx
Been out all day and have just come in from my American Lit. class, as you might expect great excitement over last night's election result, though some had real fears for BA's future.
Thanks for links Anne, lovely interview with Daniel.
Ooohhmms for all those, having tough time at work and those not feeling well.
Was that 'a bit of a Mummy moment' Jenny?
I've been watching my videos from PiP. Aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwww!
I can understand why that journo was preoccupied with the squeeling,- but heck, that's our right, isn't it? And when you look at Lee's face throughout, he is clearly delighted with us!
Anne,- thank you for the link to Danial. Isn't he just lovely? To those of you who haven't seen AvenueQ, hurry,- they close in March, I think.
It's well past my bedtime, so I'll say good night, sleep tight, have wonderful dreams and wake up happy.
I've done it too! Of course I meant BO!
Been quite a traumatic time here the last few nights - 'bonfire night' seems to now be bonfire fortnight so every evening we have 4 worried cats and two terrified dogs to care for. The cats have been kept in for days and the dogs are missing their evening walkies. I do like watching the fireworks but no way would I go out to a public display and leave the animals home alone. Just caught up with everything here so sending the usual ohhmmmmmmms to those in need plus some Anglesey air as the weather here has been gorgeous the last couple of days. I was very industrious yesterday and collected loads of driftwood from the beach - burns beautifully in our open fire and you get lots of pretty coloured flames from the sea salts. I do wish TPTB would make an announcement about the replacement for the GO - the rumours are getting rather tedious now. Now then BHB bring that tray over here and we will share the hot chocolate and marshmallows under the duvet. What was that? ohhhhhh yes of course we can.............night night all.
Morning all!
So did we all survive Firework Night?
Carys that driftwood fire sounds lovely.
Jenny - congratualtions to your dollop - and I hope next week is better for you.
OOohmms for everyone in need - including Geri, (Hope you're better today lass)K2, Carol and Suex.
Ooo Look BHB, Jo4 has left this lovely, lilac blanket just right for snuggling. It would be rude not to try it out, wouldn't it?
Morning all. Yet another grey day. I'm beginning to wonder: Have the weather gods stopped with the sunshine? We need some sun on our faces to lift the mood and do some good!
Hello sweetheart. I see you're draped in lilac this morning. JaneE found the one Jo had prepeared, did she? Well, that'll leave us with the blue one. Yes, the ordinary blue will do fine. I mean, I wouldn't dare to touch the tourquise one. That's for Fi's use only, I think!
You did what under the duvet with Carys? ? ? ? ? It involves hot chocolate and marshmellows? Sounds a bit sticky to me, but everyone to their own!
No, nothing sweet for my breakfast. You're plenty of sweet enough, so I'll stick to the savoury stuff. After all that Scandinavian influence yesterday, I feel some smoked salmon and scrambled eggs would be appropriate, don't you?
Then, if you light the fire again, I'll read the paper to you and you can tell me in more detail about the manouvres involving marshmellows. You promised to keep it a secret? You know you and I don't have secrets from each other, and I'm sure Carys didn't mean me, so come on!
Today is Syd's shopping day. I spoke to him on Tuesday, and he sounds a bit down. I think it's the darker days that's getting to him. I wish he would come out with me when I do the shopping, but he says it's too exhausting. I think it would do him good to see some other faces from time to time, if nothing else, but I can't tell him what to do, can I? It just worries me.
Morning Loppies. A very strong coffee please BHB, very noisy evening at the church meeting yesterday fireworks going around it and falling on the roof very odd noise they made.
Going to truro this morning to take mum to hospital for a troat lump check! Dr sent her within a week so slightly worried here to say the least.
Where is the dry weather we have hasd the last few days?
I felt sorry for poor R on Monday theatre was very very empty according to loppies that went. Only six days now
see you all later have a lovely day xxxxx
Yes Eva Turquoise is "my" colour but i am more than happy to share with the GO - or BHB. Met an ex colleague for lunch yesterday and she asked me to come on her next shopping trip with her as wanted to buy some blue clothes (incl turquoise) - and saw me as the blue expert:)
Like auds glad that sarah going to be involved in oliver - but i would prefer to see sarah and only sounds as if she will be understudy.
Yes eva - reminded me of ploppy at work - wasnt his invention - was that his project made money - and that broke civil service rules. Could make you weep.
Enjoy your day everyone - must dash to work.
Morning, morning - another grey dismal day here - on the tv this morning they said so far this month London has seen 24 minutes of sun (I must have blinked and missed it!). Aunty Eva, sorry I missed your sad news, so ooooohhhhhmmmmms for you. Jenny you must be a proud mother at the moment, despite what RL is throwing at you. Fi, that totally beggars belief!!! OK - Zorro. As suspected we were fairly well back - Q row, but could still see most of the action at the top of the stage. Think Scott Dear described it perfectly as a good romp. The baddy (Adam Levy) was very good; the two female leads were very good (although the part of Inez is the much better role), the dances were brilliant - the guitar playing wonderful, the staging was very clever.....but I just don't take to Mr Rawle...........granted he made a better fist of Zorro than he did when I saw him in Aspects (mind, that wasn't difficult), but he just doesn't work for me. Felt he was trying to play the role as a sort of JD Pirates of Caribbean figure.........only problem is he isn't JD! Vocally I was underwhelmed too........ Still it was a good bit of escapism (and also really really hot in the auditorium) - would rather have seen Joe! Ali - fingers crossed for your bil! Letters from here should have gone out last night so presumably those affected will not get them until tonight/or tomorrow morning - feel it's going to be a grim day tomorrow. Hoping that the pooter will get fixed on Saturday before I go screaming mad! (No comments, thank you!). OK BHB let's get cooking! Brunch on offer today - kegeree, eggs - fried (sunny side up or as you prefer), scrambled, poached, grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, bacon and prime sausages. Eggs Florentine, or scrambled with smoked salmon. Usual selection of exceedingly delicious coffees, Cham Cham, Bellinis and Mimosas (to raise our spirits), and selection of fresh pineapple, mangoes and banana for those healthy individuals. Walnut bread, raisen bread, olive and sundried tomato bread - enjoy. BHB now coming into the kitchen with me for a well earned rest!
Good morning, all. I'm home sick from work today so hope to be able to keep up with all the shenanigans here. Usually by the time I get home there's so much to trawl through I only skim & miss lots. I think if you have to be unwell you should at least have something to enjoy.
Sorry, Jenny, forgot to add my congrats last night, and commiserations on the non-retirement as well.
Jo4 -- be afraid!
You're looking very tousled this morning, BHB. Yes, I am late and having to be very careful of my diet. Just some warm milk for the moment, I think. OK, so you've been through two blankets this morning? Fortunately I brought this lovely moss green one with me, it's cashmere and smells of Irish heather, would you like-- ooh! he would!
Oh Chantale lots of ooohmms for your Mum, hope it turns out to be nothing serious.
Eva its a shame that Syd doesn't want to go shopping, I know most of the Supermarkets do have Wheelchairs that can be used, but I expect you have been down that road, it can be so frustrating dealing with "old folk" can't it.
No comments about my earlier post about Davina Mccall and Diana????????
Jill,- Syd has his own wheelchair, so that's not the problem. It's more that he finds it exhausting.
As to Diana and Davina,- their names might start with the same letter, but that is it as far as I can see. While Davina is a very irritating individuel, our Diana (avert your eyes, Diana, this flattery that's coming now isn't meant for your eyes!) is the nicest person you can meet. In the looks department, Davina might be all sleek and groomed, while our Diana is a real person, with the most devastatingly, happy smile. Have you ever been with her close to GO? She can outsmile any of us!
Geri,- sorry, didn't mean to ignore you. Take it easy while you can, and have a happy day watching ADWD or something similar.
Eva I only meant in looks, I don't like DM at all I find her irritating as well, in fact I don't watch any programmes that she might be on, I am sorry if I have offended I didn't mean to suggest at all that our Diana was anything like DM, it WAS purely the face.
Morning all, yes I know i am very late today, but have acheived a lot already! Been to Mum to give her the tablet, she seems a bit better, so fingers crossed. On the way home stopped and got petrol did the tyres and then shopped (it is also a Simply M&S). Then I've had to catch up on the blog, so for me that is a very busy morning! I'm usually only just getting going at this time!
Had a really good day yesterday thanks to Carol and her lovely Ploppy. Carol has said it all about the show really, you were right about the seats Scott, we weren't too bad where we were but did see quite a bit of Adam Levys' (the baddie) knees! Like Carol I just don't get MR but so many people do maybe I got off to a very bad start in AoL with him. He was NOT good in that, and it tends to colour how I see him, also doesn't help that for me he has zero charisma and Zorro should be very charismatic I think. As I say though the show is 'a good romp' to quote Scott Dear. Worth seeing for the dancing alone.
Tried to catch up on yesterday, deep breath, Auds lovely to see you, Jenny sorry for your roller coaster week but you must be a very proud Mum, Ali ohhhmmmms for your binl and in fact for all who have redundancies going on around them, ohhhhhhhhmmmmms for Syd, it is worrying Eva, but if we get a bit of sun ever again, maybe that will help, ohhhhmmmmms for Geri, K2, and all feeling under the weather, ohhhhmmmms for poorly pooters. Phew!!
Separately, Chantale, my Mum has a lump in her neck, we had a similar panic two years ago. Went through some very simple tests and she has a benign tumour in her salivary gland (sorry if I've got that wrong). It is hardly growing and in view of her age they are leaving it alone. Lots of ohhhhhmmmmms for your Mum and I hope it has as happy an outcome.
Think I need a lie down again now! Sorry if I've missed anything and thanks for the links. Oh yes I know delighted Sarah has a part in Oliver! Would love to think she might get to play the part, also feel CM isn't showing much faith in Jode. We'll see.
Right I'll draw breath for a minute now!
Morning, I was supposed to be taking nephew to music group but because his Daddy is at home today he refused to go! I should be doing a bit of housework but I decided I'd catch up on paperwork and emails etc while it is quiet instead.
Eva would Syd consider sitting in the cafe while you shop then you could perhaps have a light lunch together?
Chantale oohhmms for your Mum, and of course for everyone else. We do seem to be a glum lot lately.
Fi I've emailed you, at last!
OOhhmms for your mum Chantale.
Feet up today Geri! As Eva says ADWD recommended watching (oohhm)
Carol and Pauline thanks for the review of Zorro, it sounds quite fun (oohhms for your PC Carol - did you get my e-mail this morning?)
Ali,- as there isn't a cafe attached to the local Sainsbury's where Syd wants his shopping done, that isn't really an option. I have managed to talk him out of the house just to take a drive on the odd occasion, so that's what I'll continue to do.
Jill,- I didn't mean to jump down your throat. Sorry if you thought so. I just can't see any resemblance at all, but that's probably because I never look closely ar DMC because she irritates me so. I think it was last year she was standing in for Ken Bruce at Radio 2 while he was on holiday, and they had so many complaints that her time was cut short. I stopped listening after 2 days.
Syd was all right, only a bit down in the dumps. It happens to all of us, I suppose.
I'm going to start assembling the bookcases I bought yesterday. Anyone wants to help? No stampede, I see.
Just had a quick look at the ticket situation for Jo next year. It still says LM is 'currently' contracted to 10th Jan. Now I know he said he's finishing then and then and there has been a lot of speculation about a replacement etc. but am I the only one who thinks there is still the possibility that he may renew his contract? I'm probably being stupid but it's just a thought!!!!
The posters for Joseph on the Tube have all been changed, telling people that they only have until January 10th to see Lee in the role -- so it's highly unlikely he'll be continuing beyond then.
Well inevitably after a great start, not done much else this morning except put the w******g m*****e on!
Saw all those posters yesterday Scott, in fact we remarked on them so sorry Ali I don't think there is a chance of it.
Have to go to Mums soon as it is her gardeners day, so will be back later.
Scott dear,- thank you for that. When do you think they will announce who's to follow Lee?
I'm finished doing my Ikea assembly work, and will you believe it: They have changed some of the system! How can they do that to a seasoned Ikea-DIY'er like me? I thought I could do it blindfolded, but today I certainly needed my glasses perched on my nose! The corner looks very nice and sophisticated now,- there are even some empty shelves! I don't think it will last long!
I'll have a very late lunch now, and then I certainly need to do an Eva after all the hard work.
See you later.
Sorry to hear about your Mum, Chantale, hope all is well.
Glad you enjoyed Zorro, Pauline and Carol.
Maybe Syd's hibernating for the winter Eva, quite a good strategy in this depressing weather.
The delay in announcing Lee's replacement is very odd, how do they hope to sell tickets past the 10th? Evidently theatre's been quite empty this week. I think there must be some problem with contracts. Latest rumours on LMAS are Will Young or Gareth Gates.
Thank you for the info about the posters Scott and Pauline.
Eva, I'll pass on the offer of putting together book cases
Thanks Scott (and Pauline) I know it was a long-shot but I was just wondering if it was a vague possibility given that there have been no announcements from TPTB.
Evening all, well been to Sloppy and back, not much has changed here. Except of course Eva has wrestled and won with the flat packs!
Ali, I know, I'm sorry, but the only crumb I offer is that never say never about anything! Just think the signs are there, and really literally the writing on the wall!
Now will watch ITT.
Hi all. Shame about the lack of cafe at Sainsburys, Eva. Mum used to like going to Asda and having the pensioners' fish and chips lunch. It was easy for me to take her in the week then as I worked weekends. It was a treat, which she didn't consider to be too expensive. Thinking of that, she would not have been happy with the little pile of tickets sitting on a kitchen shelf!
Hi Bye Scott again.
I listened to my ipod today, found out why the file was so big. Somehow during the conversion process the file duplicated itself, so I have 2 copies in one file. Sounds OK though. Kept me going all day though.
Evening all
There is a huge Weepy on the bedroom ceiling, right over my side of the bed!! I've told Ploppy to go get rid of it but only under my supervision as, knowing him he'll drop it in the bed by accident and tell me he's got rid of it just to shut me up and then I'll wake up in the middle of the night with it sat on my head. Ew, orrible!!
Chantale - lots of ohms for your Mum. Hope the news is good. Reminds me of when my Mum had a lump in her neck which turned out to be a cyst and was easily removed but when the surgeon was telling her what he was going to do he told her not to worry about the scar as he would hide it in one of the wrinkles on her neck. She was mortified - not about the scar but that he'd said she had wrinkles - she was about 60 at the time!!
Ali - I have to say you are not the only one who had that thought. I had thought too a while ago that the "currently" meant there was the possibility of him renewing his contract. As I said before I wouldn't have been disappointed if he had!
Just a last brief check before I go out. Church meeting and Josh's investiture at Scouts, got to try and do both somehow! Then need to get an early night as I'm having various children dropped off at some ungodly hour tomorrow and Josh is off to London for the day, watch out London!!
Rather them (teachers) than me, taking 28 kids to Westminster via train and tube. I'll tell him to look out for the posters!!
I've had a marathon evening on the phone, and it isn't even Sunday. The last call was the longest,- the lady who "shares" Syd with me when I'm busy. She can talk for England, well for Great Britain even. As you know I'm not exactly the silent, retiring type, but when she is around, I hardly open my mouth!
Karen,- I think you should enlist Linx to do spider patrols! She had me in fits in Dublin when she demonstrated how she searched her bedroom for spiders every night before she goes to bed,- or rather has someone else do it. Suex just rolls her eyes when spiders are mentioned!
Chantale,- I hope your mum is OK. It's worrying, I know.
Jo4,- I was thinking of Megan today. When I was at Sainsbury's today, I saw they had those lovely li
