Ali,- how horrible for your scollop. I don't know what to advise you, except doing the things you're already doing.
If it's bad enough for other children to react, then it's clearly more than "boys will be boys" teasing. I think a lot of cruelty have been excused under that heading over the years anyway.

Thanks for the good wishes re candidate situation. I've had to write a report today, in infinite detail, about why the person isn't suitable for the job. It's awful really because they make you do a real hatchet job on the person to justify your decision and it's so unnecessary! Have to wait now for a decision from the PTB!!

Ali - how awful for your poor scollop. Not being a parent myself I can offer no advice other than that I agree with your sloppy in that the school should take responsibility and get it sorted out and put a stop to it. I hate bullies, in any walk of life, but when someone's at a vulnerable age or state it's seems worse somehow. Lots of ohms for you and scollop.

Auds/Jill - yes Jane is on holiday. She's back tomorrow though. Geri and K2 are busy studying. I had an email conversation with Geri earlier in the week and she misses everybody. Will probably email her later today so I'll say Hi from everybody.

Talking of Jane, I had a text from her when I was on the bus coming home earlier and as I was replying the guy sat next to me, who was almost sat on my knee, was blatantly reading what I was writing (ignorant g*t) so I wrote something really rude and hoped he'd see that and bog off. He did give me a rather strange look as he got off the bus!! I deleted it before I sent it to Jane but then I had a moment's panic thinking I'd sent it by mistake and thought Jane would have wondered what the heck I was going on about in response to her innocent question!! Which gave me a laugh as I could just picture Jane's face!! HeHe. I did delete it though!

Ok, it's Friday, the weekend starts here, so time for a drink methinks (what do you mean, no change there then!!!).

Had a very nice lunch and more important saw Ari, who is now a very smartly trimmed little dog. He is so cute and really does have the most loveable personality. He is well settled and of course this dog that was never going to be allowed on the furniture has staked his claim on the pouffe which now has his dog blanket on it!

Ali I'm so sorry about your Scollop. I second what Karen said about bullies. Don't have any magic answers except I think the school needs to wake up and do something. Boys will be boys eh? Well they sure will if they are never told any different and since when did behaving in a boorish and ignorant manner become boyish behaviour? It's about time they did something about it.

HI. Torrential rain and sun here. Its friday yipeeee.

Still not feeling great but big work do tonight so have to go out. Watched Quantum of solace last night at friend's home cinema. great fun - we even had an ice cream break.

Ali - bullying hard. My oldest bullied all thro pri school and despite doctor getting involved pri school refused to do anything as "boys will be boys - and your son too nervous and needs to be a boy!!!!!". I even phoned Kidscape for advice - they were really helpful - seemingly rural church schools worst offenders at allowing bullying to happen as tend to sympathise with bullies and feel they must need help;( His secondary school(tho it is a church school it is inner city so more street wise) were great and minute they knew about it they sorted it. They found out who bullies were - all in his year and called them all in and said "they knew they were "friends of..... and had they noticed he was upset and school didtn allow anyone in their care to be upset so what could they recommend to help him". Bullying never happened again. the kids werent stupid they knew they were being given a warning. If school wont help you need to collect evidence and go to governors but not easy. Good luck.

Just nack from Holyhead - took my neighbour shopping.Missed the hailstones we had here at home. Sun is shining now so hopefully that is the last of the bad weather for now. Karen thanks for the link - is it me or am I imagining a reason for that style of dress???

Ali I don't have a magic answer either, but I do know how horrible it is when your children are so upset and you can't seem to help. The only thing I can suggest is if your Scollop has plenty of friends you enlist there help, just might work, but the School should take a stand against bullying, no way should this person be allowed to get away with it.

Ali you poor thing, bet you feel as bad as scollop, what horrible creatures children can be. Fi's suggestion of how the school might tackle it sounds very sensible, but perhaps not quite so effective in a secondary school, do hope the school can get it sorted out quickly.

Thanks for all your comments, it does help to hear/read them. This is a rural church school too Fi, there has been a bit of a shake-up recently with a new Head and a recent Ofsted inspection so I'm confident my complaint will be dealt with. We had a chat with scollop earlier, as expected he denied everything and made excuses for the behaviour but we know him well enough to see that's not the case. I don't want to push it any further for now as he got upset/angry.
To add to my bad day we had a call from the mechanic to say another part on the car has to be replaced, probably doubling the bill! I now have to get up at 6am to take ploppy to work (in sloppy's car) as our's won't be ready till tomorrow. Oh joy! We've bought a Euromillions ticket tonight in the vain hope we might win something ha ha!

Carys,- your weather sounds like the one they are having in Bergen at the moment. I had my sister on the phone a bit earlier and she was moaning. They've had unremitting rain and storms going on for the last week, with temperatures hardly reaching above +6 degrees. I heard earlier on the radio today that several mountain roads were closed due to snow! It's memories like this that makes me grateful for the good weather we have in my part of England. You don't often hear me moan about it, do you?

Ali, glad Poppy is okay. A friend once had a Newfoundland and we looked after him for the weekend he was the biggest loveliest teddy bear you ever did see! Where we walk the dogs round a lake, there is sometimes a meet of a local Newfounland club, and they put the dogs through their paces in the water. Newfies are known for rescuing people, particularly from water, they have webbed feet.

Auds, what a lovely long post, yep I did have builders in last year, for a wet room, I think I’m just a glutton for punishment. Truth is we didn’t realise what a state the bungalow was in when we bought it. We knew the décor was definitely not our taste, but stupidly didn’t have a full survey done, and it turns out lots of stuff was covered up, like damp, mould and leaks, not to mention a Changing Rooms style job had been done on the place, so not much was as it seemed, and now we’re paying the price.

Oh Ali, sorry you are having such a cr*p time at the moment, it does help to talk about it to friends though, I think we all feel that at times.

HOOORAY, no not the new home, although it's lovely. Thank you Scott. The inspection is FINISHED early. They are just coming in tomorrow morning to give the results, but as I'm backroom staff, I'M NOT NEEDED. I've worked 52hrs this week, so am well and truly bushed. (All the others involved have worked the same or longer, as others have 4hrs tomorrow too.) I think it's been OK, so we will get at goodish result.
Anyway not caught up. I did see your post Ali, sounds like they need to pull their fingers out and take action.
KK, did you come to my house this afternoon? THE glasses, in their box, made a leap to freedom from the top of the kitchen cabinet (out of the cats way) to the the tiled floor. So now there are 2 glasses complete. The very nice people are sending me a new box of glasses next week, as they can't send one to replace the cracked one. (No incohol arrived yet.)

I can recomend Ceasar too Dixie has been brought up with him to a certain extend. The only problem she now has is she barks like mad when someone she likes come s to the door so got to study that one!. I want her to bark bto alert me but when I say thank you she must stop!.

Ali,- thank you for the link. Well, our boys are doing their best to keep busy. Wish I had the room and the money to book them!

Sue1,- the recipe is very easy. I make a marinade of Soy sauce, olive oil and red wine. Chop garlic and mix it all with lemon peper, ginger (either freshly grated or powder). Leave the chicken breasts in the marinade in the fridge for 3-4 hours. Put the chicken breasts under the grill (or you can fry them). Serve with roast potatoes (Aunt Bessie's are fine), fresh asparagus (when in season) and a mild sauce, for instance a cheese sauce.

Hello. A lovely day here, although I've been inside sorting out loads of stuff for a carboot sale. BinL suggested doing one (may make a small dent in the repair bill of £300.48!!) It was a good excuse to get the boys to tidy up as we went, the incentive of some pocket money if they sold anything helped too. I'll be at church then work tomorrow so I'm leaving the men to it.
Unfortunately I can't stop and chat, need a bath and some food before I head out to work.
May not get back until Monday as I'm seeing OMA tomorrow night. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Thanks Auds - the delivery men told us not to plug it in for four hours, but we actually didn't until well after 2pm so we should be fine! Lady J lovely to see you back, all well and rested. We have now stocked said fridge and it appears to be working well.......Had to do a little retail therapy to get over all the trauma you understand so have a new skirt (purple) a new jacket/coat (purple)...are we detecting a theme here? A new swimming costume (not purple) and a new belt. We also had to buy some things for Ploppy who is appearing in drag in the Music Hall in two weeks time.......I promise a photo! I went upstairs earlier to get a bath, put on a clay face mask whilst I was running the bath then realised it was pouring with rain and I'd left the w*****g out so I ran downstairs then remembered I'd nothing on my feet so I put on the nearest thing I could find - Ploppy's w**k boots!! Eva there was the usual array of VERY deluded people, one lady in particular was truly terrible and thought the microphone was at fault! Errr no dear! I went to 'Spring Awakening' this afternoon, very much on the spur of the moment; definitely not a show for children, all about sexual awakening in adolescents, it was a very unusual musical but good. I just about spotted Chris B. he was hardly on stage but sang from the seats at the side of the stage where some of the audience were sitting.

I asked to ride another horse today as I thought it was going to be really busy today with lots of strange horses where we ride, but there weren't many. M gets so excited when she sees lots of horses prancing about, I thought it would be safer on the little one I ride. So I could concentrate on my customers and not have to be concerned about trying to stop M charging off chasing the other horses, but it would have been OK. I've swapped tomorrow as well, the event is on then as well. It does M good being ridden by proper riders.

Welcome back dear Jane. My foot is still colourful but mainly 3 toes tis weird.
Decided we are going to our friends daughter's 21st in wiltshire but we shall leave the next day very early to be back to take part in the 5k run, yes I know we are potty!.

It will be a long one, because I'll take the car and go to the other end of town and walk along a stretch of the beach I don't often visit. It is where I used to come before I moved to Deal, and it's a very lovely part of the beach. Sometimes I need a little change of scenery.
The sharp wind which has been around all week seems to have disappeared too.

Morning BHB yes I know it's lovely isn't it. Aww look he has been busy getting hampers ready as he is sure you'd like to take one (him) on the beach. So they contain the usual cold chicken, tomatoes, cheeses and freshly baked French bread, fresh strawberries anc cream and a bottle of wine (oh alright, drink of your choice). The breakfast today is the cold buffet of cereals, mueslis and fresh fruit, pastries, croissants and freshly baked breads. Eggs avy style are available with bacon, sausages and mushrooms. Pancakes and waffles with maple syrup and butter. Toasties and paninis are available all day. Teas and coffees and of course Cham Cham, Bellinis, and Mimosas. Right so I think we better have a staff meeting. I'll bring the jug of raspberry Bellinis, you bring the cushions and pink blanket and we can wait for the CM. (What do you mean she won't be here for ages? She might and anyway I'm sure we can find plenty to do...er I mean talk about) Door shuts.

Was spurred into DIY last night - why I get these urges and the most inappropirate times, so sporadic tv viewing took place last night. Missed CSINY altogether, but did see a few 'turns' on BGT. How totally dillusional are some folk? (at least I know I'm dillusional when it comes to the GO) but that woman with the 'faulty mic' - I almost dropped the screw driver on my toe when she complained about that... I saw the Soprano chap! That was quite incredible.. wonder what else he sings? He looked so happy with the response. (also looked a bit like Adam in Am.Id. Anyone watching that? Adam is fantastic. I missed the rugby player, so thanks for the links P2/Eva. He has such a great voice and delivery. Whatever happens, I hope he gets a kick start to a singing career.

Chatted with my mum yesterday - she is sooooooo excited about her trip! 10 more sleeps!!! she says she now appreciates all the organising that Dad did for their trips, and is feeling a little guilty that she didn't quite appreciate it at the time. Have to admit I'm quite anxious, I'd much rather I was going with her so I know she's OK.... fuss fuss fuss.... but my niece who's got the job is so competent and confident.. she's even gone to Mum's doctor to talk about what she should do if anything goes awry.
Anyway, I must shoot now - gotta do a bit of shopping for drill bits (bust one yesterday and I need it).. and some yogurt. Oh Eva, I'm gonna try that delicious recipe you posted a while back.

It was a lovely walk along the beach this morning. There were a lot of people out, with children and dogs too, so at times it was quite lively.
I overtook an old lady walking along with the help of a stick, and said “Good morning” as I passed. She replied likewise, and then said:”Oh, what a lovely scent you have on. What is it called?” I don’t often get that kind of compliments, so of course I stopped and we had a nice chat.
When I’d finished my walk, I went across the road to Walmer Castle. It’s a beautiful, little castle and one I often take my visitors to. It was one of the Queen Mother’s favourite places, and as the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, she often stayed there. As I am a member of British Heritage, I don’t have to pay the entrance fee, so I had a cup of coffee in the lovely grounds. Here is a link:

Just seen Ploppy off to the airport! WoooooooHooooooo!! Freedom! Ahem, sorry, I mean, sob, sob, I'm going to miss him! No, really I will. Nobody to take up two thirds of the bed (even though it's king size and big enough for several people - and no, I haven't tried it, before you ask!!). Nobody to nick the duvet. Nobody to snore, loudly, all night, in my ear!! Yes, of course I'll miss him!!!!! Anyway, for the rest of the day I plan to watch DVD's, and there's wine and chocolate in the fridge! Ploppy? Auds - I'm watching Am. Id. First time I've watched it but I was channel hopping the other week and came across Adam's Mad World performance, which I thought was just brilliant, and since then I've been hooked! I love Adam, he's fantastic. I really hope he wins which he should do because I don't reckon much to the other two! I thought his big competition was Alison but now she's gone it should be his!

The sun still hasn't made it's way up North yet, in fact it's been raining, but that's okay, it's good weather for watching DVD's!!

Auds - THANK YOU I was wondering what you were all talking about - of course BGT!!! Hope your mum has a lovely trip.

Just heard the CO on EPs' show. She asked him what he thought about the casting of Joseph via ADWD and he replied that the GO and cast were fantastic. Isn't he a nice chap with good taste?!

Oops, just lost a post... got distracted by having to turn the radio off quickly... the DG interviewing the CO and they're playing his version of ADWD. He did stick up for the reality show thing though - 1 point in his favour. Had to giggle though, one of his chosen songs was Razzle Dazzle from Chicago. (he's lining himself up to play Billy me thinks) though lyrics were apt for him.. "if you RD them, they don't see how bad you are" (or words to that effect).. even his sparkle and glitter in PQOTD didn't hide his lack of charisma.

With you there Karen re Alison - what a pair of lungs that baby has (well, she's 10 years younger than us at least). Adam's a born rock-god and in his element last night, but his slam dunk interpretation of MW was just fantastic.

A perfect day to visit the castle Eva - I went there a few years ago, oh, I must have been at last 2! I do love that coastline.

I've had a quiet, domstic day so far today with some of the dreaded h****k, which needed to be done after a busy week and another to come.

I quite enjoyed BGT last night but some acts are just too freakish, wonder how much is stagemanaged as I don't believe the judges reactions are genuine.

When, though, are we going to hear more about GO's career plans? I can't help feeling it's beginning to be time for him to get on and consolidate on his success so far. It would be good to have some definite news before he goes to NY.

Phew, caught up at last! Sorry if comments are out of date, didn’t make it yesterday, RL took over, and we went out for a meal to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday last night, rolling in at 1am!! At m-o-l’s again so could disappear at any time.

Glad your inspection is over Jo, hope you get the result you want. I know it’s a totally different field but I used to get so stressed before an announced inspection at the old folks home, I much preferred the unannounced ones, although your heart sank when they walked in the door it was preferable to weeks of apprehension when you knew they were coming.

I see some of you suffered through CO's visiting with DG. I had to admit that at that point I turned the radio off. In the first place she really grates on my nerves, and secondly, as soon as heard his not so dulced tones, I just had to turn off. 1 point though if he praised GO and the cast.

Sue1,- my perfume is Nina Ricci's L'Air Du Temps. I have been using it for the last 30 years (I think), so even before I was born. An old school friends said at a reunion when she hugged me:
"Oh, lovely! You smell like you used to!"

Glad you enjoyed the glimpses from Walmer Castle. I think we have some of Britains most beautiful castles here in Kent (she said completely unbiased!). There is also Leeds Castle, where I have been to several outdoor concerts, and of course Hever Castle, which is like a fairytale.

I have work to do. With all this sunshine we're having, the garden is so dry, it needs a good watering. (OPS! What was that? Karen throwing one of Ploppy's leftover golfballs at me! I did try to send some sunshine your way.)

Well I'm pleased to hear that the CO was behaved himself nicely on the DG's show. I didn't listen to it.

Evening all, well my back aches now, but looking at the forecast for the rest of the week thought I'd better get the garden a bit sorted.

Thankfully she did not find it and came back up again. This was taken at Moelfre,the next village along the coast from us and they have a very good lifeboat exhibition.

I've just watched George Gently. I noticed at the beginning that we were in Newcastle in 1964. When at the very end, we saw the killer being hanged, I thought:" Oho, mistake. The last hanging was in -63." Then I checked Wikipedia, and they were right and I was wrong. The last hanging was in -64. Maybe that was the one they showed?

Thanks for the link Ro and for the advice. Mine was playing lots of pretty patterns, but have downloaded that divx thingy and it now plays something much prettier! Lovely to know he is out and about again, now all we need is him somewhere we can get to see him! Must say I found R odd when he performed, but have seen him interviewed and he seems lovely so I can see why the GO likes him.

Watched GG as well Eva. I like it more each week I think as am getting used to (or ignoring) MS odd accent!

Tickets for that were pretty well sold out before I even found out about the concert! Ali should be on her way back now, bet she had a brilliant time!

Morning - well as you may have noticed I wasn't around yesterday, well I was but the pooters weren't. Hoping to solve my problems on Wednesday evening............Kathleen hope your week pans out ok!! Ro thanks for the Linky thing which I will look at this evening (can't do it from work - boo!). Watched GG last night...and can now tune out MS's dodgy accent (although it seemed better this week). Now Bristol is only a couple of hours from me...would have sat through R just to hear the GO and agree with Twin that he does come across as a really nice chap. Right got to get two of my bosses off to Cairo this afternoon (not even going to suggest it will be a quiet week without them as I know what happens when I type that). Time for breakfast I think. It's a lovely sunny day here (could be the only one of the week) but windy so I think a lighter breakfast is called for
so we will be offering omelettes with various fillings, waffles with butter, fresh fruit, grilled mushrooms or grilled bacon (or both), meusli, fresh fruit, platters of assorted cold meats and cheeses, baskets of freshly baked bread, croissants and pastries. Normal selection of toasties and paninis, as well fresh muffins. Teas and coffess as usual and our selection of incoholic drinks. Just going to take this jug of Mimosa into the kitchen, BHB will please - oh bless him he's already got the cushions and the pink blanket. I'll just tack the sign on the door then we close the kitchen for a while whilst we await the arrival of the DCM.

Oh please say I'm not too late for the staff meeting. Having one hxxx of a morning so far. I am having the car serviced today and had to get up for 8 o'clock to wait for them to collect it....they are still not here! Stop laughing. Then worse than that I have been trying for nearly two hours to get on line. Something was wrong with the connection. What gets me mad it says contact the provider, but doesnt' give you a phone no to do so, no you have to be on line for that!! GRRRRRRRR.

Anyway not a happy teddy at all. Oh hello BHB oh that's lovely he just gave me a big hug to make me feel better and now we are retiring into the kitchen and I will catch up with everything! Shuts door.

Carys, you were right! OMA were fantastic and it was definitely a show not a concert. I'd highly reccomend them to anyone who has a chance to see them. My sister didn't know anything about them until last night but is now eager to see them again if we get the chance. The venue was packed and almost all the audience were on their feet at the end.
Re:Rhyddian-liked him when I saw him interviewed but he is a bit creepy when he sings, glad GO is back on stage (with him) though.
OK I'm now going to trawl some sites looking for a 1940's outfit to wear for the concert next month. I had a bit of a shock yesterday as I'd assumed it was a small affair, it isn't!! The county Youth symphonic band are playing (Glen Miller etc.) and the lady who is doing the majority of the singing is named 'and company', yes that's my friend and I!! Really hope I don't make a fool of myself.

Lovely news Ro that the GO is on stage again. I went to see Rhydian in Hammersmith and he was fantastic though does not move me like a certain person and not on stage for long really - about 70 minutes during which time the backing band did a couple of numbers alone while he was off-stage for a change of clothes. So about an hour himself. He sang one duet with one of his backing singers so I wonder what he did with the GO (most of the show appeared on Youtube so we will no doubt find out). The warm up act in the first half was a girl called Louise who is listed on all the tour dates except the last, she was on about 40 minutes and was very dull. She described herself as a 'Lounge' singer and offered to come and sing in our lounges at which people started laughing which was embarassing as she was serious!

Well, the GO has been a great help to me this morning. Did you know he had branched out into insurance? No, neither did I, until I found the GOcompare.com comparison site for car insurance!
I had a renewal quote from my car insurers and they had the cheek to quote £325, up from £174 last year! As if! I was onto the Internet before you could say insurance, and after a 10 minutes search I had a quote of £146.92, and that was even with a lower voluntary excess.
So thanks to Himself, I've saved £178.70. Now I wonder...........what can I spend that money on?

Ali,- glad you enjoyed the show last night. I did like them when I saw them on the telly last year, but unfortunately I don't think they are coming anywhere near me with their show.

I would endure a lot to be able to see and hear GO, even CO in the same show. From earlier experience I'd only bring some ear plugs and close my eyes when CO was on!

Hello Everyone! Yes I am still alive - sorry I havent been on the site for a while! Nothing very exciting to report. I am still unemployed but working on it. Its very weird being at home during the day - my flat can get really cold! I am keeping myself busy though as its my play 'The Beggars Opera' next week! I would like to say the rehearsals are going really well but they arent. I think the word is 'shambolic'!! I am dreading the dress rehearsal its going to be awful. My parents are coming the last night and my Mum said, 'well it should be good by then!' and I was thinking 'I wouldn't count on it!!' Glad to see that Lee is out and about now - 10 Jan seems like a lifetime ago. Hope everyone is OK and its nice to see you all.

Hi everyone. Thanks for all the good wishes. Found it hard to get out of bed this morning, but work went well. The children and staff were pleased to see me anyway. Of course the Yr 6 pupils are doing SATs so the whole school seems to get disrupted. Don't think any teachers welcome the SATs as we have so many pupils who speak English as asecond language and all LSAs are needed to read the papers for them. Most of the schools in the Slough area have this problem and the results do not always match the quality of teaching the pupils receive.
Forgot to say yesterday that Ploppy and I are going to see touring Jo tonight at Windsor. I'm hoping it will be very different from the Adelphi.

The sun finally arrived here today. And I've been stuck in the office all day!! Typical!

Well, there I was yesterday going on about having the king size bed to myself and what happened? I fell asleep on the sofa until 4am!!!

Ploppy rang me three times last night with a progress report on his hotel room! There's 32 in the group and they'd booked some single rooms and some double rooms but the hotel have c****d up! They eventually said that they would move them to the correct rooms. Then, after they'd all moved their cases into the new rooms the hotel told them that they would charge them 100 euro per room for each one changed!!!!! Thirty two very unhappy golfers!!! The guys refused to pay the extra, which I quite agree with, so the hotel have insisted that they go back to the original rooms. Unbelievable!! So, in the last call from Ploppy last night they were all retreating to the bar for a much needed drink or several. Text from Ploppy this morning "I've got a sore head!!". So I assume they went on to have a good night!

Carol - hope you get your pooter sorted soon. It's not right when you're not here!! Although the DCM does manage to keep the BHB in hand (steady on Pauline!!!!!).

Eva - you did make me laugh with your comment about the GO saving you money on car insurance. Talk about a tenuous link!!! Love it!

Pauline - oh dear, bad news about the car. On the plus side, if you get it out of the way now it will leave your money free for other much more pleasant things later in the year!!!!!

One was peice of advice was. go to Options - More options - e-mail signatures. The unwanted mail will show in there - delete it. I don't know if that will help.

one very sad loppy here.. not only has someone snuck into my hotmail account and sent out a message to everyone in my contacts, but I've lost my ring - it was my mothers, Dad bought it for her when I was born, and she passed it on to me... sob sob sob.
Not sure what the consequence of opening the email is.. It was also addressed to me, but I only found mine after deleting several 'postmaster' notes - some folk have good firewalls - so deleted it right away.
I'm here now changing passwords - have done a scan and nothing serious was found???

There is silver glitter all over the kitchen floor, this table and me from the handmade recycled wrapping paper (made in India). I have taken photos as I go along. Strangely, not only does the wrapping paper match the paper Jane used for the gift tag drawing, but the ribbon I had matches the beads around the drawing. Looks like it was planned! Just waiting for the replacement glasses. ... and to find a box to pack it in. I have a fall back position, cut down a box my dvd player came in. Would you believe there were no boxes at Ts this lunchtime?

Sue1,- I agree with you that his website should be more informative. It's like being back in the bad old days when we had to rely on each other and the other fansites to find out what was going on.
Railcard: I paid £24 for a year, and I save 1/3 on every journey, no matter where in Britain, the lenght of the journey etc. as long as it's off peak time. I took out a card for 1 year, and will add up through the year to see if there are
real savings to be done.

Auds,- I hope you find your ring again soon. I lost my diamond ring once, and it was gone for 1 1/2 years when I suddenly found it in a pocket in my handbag, so never give up hope.

Don't worry too much about the email - if you deleted it you will be fine - just don't click on any of the links it contains. Auds may well have got a virus from someone else who is on her address list that is the way these things spread so we should all do a scan for viruses and spyware as soon as possible. If anyone needs a new email address I recommend googlemail - they have excellent spam/virus filters and the service is free and very reliable. Just go to Google and click on Mail.

Mine is 6 years old and has just cost me a fortune (not quite 4 figures but not far short) and then when all going well go back to car on saturday to find some b.... has dragged their shopping trolley down whole side of my car gouging 2 large lines out of paint work. Was going to cry and then in same half hour had some really bad news from frends about their family - wont go into grisly details but put my little problem in perspective. Cars are replaceable (sorry PoppY) but people arent!

Morning all - oh Diana didn't Mads say what we all thought then (and now!). Really cold wind today, and quite overcast. Forgot to say there will be 7 of us next Monday evening, but the booking is for 7.30pm (I suspect they want to get the pre-theatres out of the way, however suggest we stick to our original plan and meet at 6.30pm, and I'll call them over the weekend to ask if we can bring it forward to 7pm so everyone (with their railcards) is able to get home in time! Fi, I agree as a duet it didn't quite work, but in terms of drooling over the GO and his voice, it did! I am sure there is some malign influence at work on pooters and cars at the moment - we'll probably discover the moon is in phase 305 of Mars or something to account for it! AliB break a leg with the Beggar's O, I am sure once you all get into costume you'll have a whale of a time as it's such a good show. Auds do hope your ring turns up soon - years ago I lost a ring my mother bought me for getting her through her driving test. I have this habit of twiddling and playing with rings, and it must have come off when I was doing that. Suspect it was lost at the office cricket day, but too much grass to search and find it. Hope you are luckier. I think lots of ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmss in order for Twin and Fi's cars, for those who are poorly, for Aud's ring, for the Lepry and K2's exams and for anyone else in need. OK time for breakfast I think. We have, as ususal, a selection of toasties and paninis - just choose your filling. Fresh bread, croissants, pastries and muffins all available as well as meusli, granola and yoghurts. Usual variety of teas and cofffees and of course incoholic drinks. I'll just grab the jug of Raspberry Bellini, the BHB has got the pink blanket and cushions, and I'll put the sign on the door whilst we await the arrival of the (now almost desitute) DCM.....she will probably ask for a rise!

Shame there were no hunky fireman around Jane! I didn't use lifts for many years after I got in one but the doors shut before sloppy could get in with my sister in her pram. I only went up one level and was looked after till sloppy could get to me but it felt like a lifetime and I was terrified of the things for quite a while. I'm lazy now and use them rather than take the stairs!
Just delivered meals on wheels around town and then received a call from scollop's High School. They've spoken to scollop (who denies everything) and will be speaking to the older boy. Seniors and juniors are not supposed to mix so he can be warned not to go near scollop and is friends without having to mention any names. They are certainly taking it seriously and will be keeping a close eye on the situation and keeping me informed. I feel much happier about it all.

Ali that is great news, the main thing is that the school take it seriously, I'm sure it will be sorted, ohhhhmmmms just in case!

Jill if you can't think of a reason Eva would roll on the table with BHB.... well let me just say I can think of a lot!

Well we've had the email about the salary reduction - half the amount from 1st June and the other from 1st December ....no news on the redundancies yet. That's going into a separate letter. Just had lunch with the MM, so feeling a little mellow! Ali, pleased to hear the school are being proactive, fingers crossed it solves the problem. Aunty Eva do you think it is a nationwide plot by the Royal Mail to thwart Loppies ever receiving parcels? I have taken to putting the office address on anything I order!! That tends to fool them. The sun has come out in London - hurray! In fact it was quite warm lunchtime....or was that the after wine glow? No, it was quite warm! Guess where I am going tonight? Yes rehearsal! Starting to panic as it is next week..........also I will be having my injections for the holiday on Thursday, which is our opening night....hope I don't have an adverse reaction! Oh Carol re the injections, when we had ours for Turkey we felt awful and had to go to bed, it was when we were having the kitchen fitted and the workmen had to wake us up as when we had the central heating done a month earlier, one of the pipes hadn't been sealed and was leeking all over the place.

Right selection of waffles on offer today, with a variety of toppings both sweet and savoury. Scrambled eggs and smoke salmon, or girlled bacon or mushrooms. Toasties and paninis as usual, as well as selection of cereals and yoghurts, including greek yoghurt with honey and almond topping. Fresh fruit salad. Selection of breads, croissants, pastries and muffins. Usual selection of teas and coffees and of course incohol. Will just take this large jug of Cham Cham into the staff meeting; hung up the sign and await the arrival of the DCM. I am sure BHB and I will find something to do, I mean talk about, whilst we wait for her.

I'm almost ready for the off, but I'm so annoyed with myself, I have to let off some steam before I start the car!

I'm slowly building up a DVD library, replacing my old HVS video tapes with the DVD versions. I use Amazon a lot for this, as I often buy used DVDs for almost nothing.
Yesterday I ordered 2 DVD (I thought) series of Open All Hours for a good price. I was faintly surpised when the postman knocked (yes, he did!) on my door and delivered 2 packages. That was quick, I thought, and then when I opened them I found............yes,- the VHV videos of the series! I went back and checked my order and the fault was all mine. I should have read the smaller pring more carefully. To my defence it must be said that this offer was tucked nicely in between offers of the DVD version. No wonder the seller was so quick to send them off. He probably couldn't believe his luck!

Thoroughly enjoyed Hairspray and would recommend it to anyone - best thing I've seen this year (my last Joe visit was December!). MB, Leanne & Ben were vg as were the rest of the cast. Very funny scene between MB and Nigel Planer (Mr Turnblad).

Eva, her Shirley, Jo & I met in MedKitchen for a nice meal and chat before the show. We got a taxi afterwards to Charing Cross and the driver went along Maiden Lane, right past THE stage door. Some people were waiting outside, presumably for GG - not many!

Last day at w**k and heaps to do so will have a quick catch up to see news of the soap awards etc and then head down.

kathleen482 - I was interested in your experience of the touring Joe as I went on Tuesday and felt very differently!It was like watching a pantomine with the inflatable sheep that didn't inflate and Craig wafting across the sky as an angel during 'One more Angel', not to mention Joseph's mother who was the same age as a sister (and wasn't his mother dead which was one reason why Jacob was so fond of him as he 'reminded him of her'). Jacob when he doubled as Potifer was just like Jacob dressed as Potifer, very amateurish we thought. We were in fits in some parts although I dont think we should have been.... still it was a different take on the production so OK for that.... more worrying though was Craig himself - I quite liked him during ADWD but after the first few bars of ADWD I knew he would murder CED and he did, there was no emotion in any of the singing and the acting was dire. And the Scottish accent which is still very pronounced was a definite 'NO', Joseph just wasn't Scottish!! I wasn't expecting a Lee type performance but this was bad, nowhere near Ricky Roija who I thought was very good with the acting and singing even though it wasn't up there with Lee he was good in his own right. I couldn't say this of Craig - he must be tired I know doing 12 shows a week but this was a very limp performance and he obviously hasn't got it right during the time he's been in it. We have been so spoiled with the just amazing GO and the London cast

Morning - and most importantly GOOD LUCK GERI! Or as we say in the theatre - break a leg! (but not literally). Diana glad you enjoyed the show, Twin and I are hoping to make it sometime. Shirley saw the touring version some while ago and whilst the Narrator was excellent (she then moved to Blood Brothers and KtT came in) the rest of it was a bit as you mention. Don't think I'll have time to put the new router through its paces until Friday as (guess what) we have a rehearsal tonight. Very strangely this morning we couldn't get ITV on any of our tvs - BBC was fine! A propos the video....we have a dual machine that plays video and dvd and you can record to the dvd section as well as the video section (except I haven't yet had time to master that!). OK time for breakfast. Today we are offering, in addition to the normal selection of paninis and toasties, pancakes with a variety of toppings or fillings, scrambled eggs, poached eggs Portabello, Royale or Benedict (plain on toast if preffered, or on top of sliced tomato and mushroom). Fresh fruit, baskets of assorted breads, pastries, croissants and pain au chocolat, muffins in an assortment of flavours (can recommend the St Clement). Usual selection of coffees, teas and incohol. BHB if you will just get the blanket and the cushions and I'll take the jug of Bellini and we will head to the kitchen for the staff meeting and await the DCM. Just put the notice up and check she isn't hiding somewhere...

I see the GO was on the Soap awards. I missed it but sad sap that I am I have it recorded. I do like my soaps so recorded it so I can run through the ads and any OTT speeches. I've looked at the you tube clip and I see I get double excitment, Jack Branning sexiest male (I agree. I keep having dreams about him!) and then the GO straight after him. I'll obviously just keep rewinding that section.

I see there has been a minifest to Hairspray. I've seen it twice and but for the cost of the ticket would happily see it again. I'd encourage anyone who hasn't seen it to really try and get there.

Sue1,- I'll not whisper it,- I'll shout it: I LOVE CORRIE! So there, my secret vice is out, and the girl who was lucky enough to be kissed by GO, is a cracking actress!

Oh, you want to hear about Hairspray? As Diana said, we all loved it. It is one of those shows with a real "feelgood" factor, where you leave the theatre still singing the songs.
The story of the show is very simple, about this rounded (!) girl, Tracy, (played by Leanne Jones) who is in love with the most popular boy in school, Link (our very own Ben). The town, Baltimore, is having a beauty contest for the Baltimore Miss Hairspray, and of course everyone laughes at Tracy when she wants to enter. There is also a racial issue, because the black youths are never permitted to enter the contest. MB plays Tracy's Mum and Nigel Planer plays Tracy's Dad.
It all ends well, with boy gets girl and all that jazz, and the music throughout is terrific. MB gets to show his comic talent in a duet, Timeless To Me, with Nigel Planer. They were so funny, and I'm sure a lot of the dialogue/song text there was improvised, because the two of them could barely hold it together at times for laughing!
Ben desreves a separate mention. He really is a fabulous dancer, and he has a couple of solo songs which he did very well. That role was made for him!
As you will understand, it is well worth going. It's a musical made in the spirit of the Loppies!
Diana told about us going back to Charing X in a taxi, and suddenly we were in Maiden Lane. I think we all had a lump in our throat going past that STAGE DOOR!

Alison I recorded the soap awards too, but I only watched up to the GO bit! I did have a GO dream last night however. We were all off to meet him for a questions and answers session, crammed into the back of a taxi. Then everything changed and I was in a tiny kitchen chatting to him while DVO made us a cuppa. They had 2 cats and one kept climbing on his shoulder and rubbing against his face. I woke up to find one of my cats sitting on me with her head resting on my shoulder. Nice dream, wouldn't mind a few more of those!

Good heavens,- it's just as well I bought my Railcard as I'll be going up to London twice next week. It's Monday's celebration of Adela's birthday, and then on Wednesday I'm back up there for the matinee show of Oliver! A friend just called and said she had a spare ticket and did I want to go. Oh, yes, I did, so you see, I'm still spending my money on theatre tickets even if GO isn't around!

Hi all, not caught up. I've got to take all the stuff off my shelves in the dining room tonight as my neighbour is having a damp course drilled tomorrow. I don't want my nicknacks and GO stuff going the way of the glasses.
Hairspray was brilliant. It was so lively, loved the songs. MB was very good. Ben was excellent at dancing, really the part for him. Voice was good too. I was singing (in my head) a couple of the songs all day, as I was doing the really boring spreadsheet again. The sets were good too. Only one little problem (for deaf 'old' me) the music was loud enough, sometimes the vocals were too quiet against the music. It didn't really matter, the visuals were so good. I did look at the whole show, not just at one person, a novel thing for me. Just my sort of night. Nice to see Diana, Eva and Eva's Shirley too.
Better go and get dusty now. The last time all the stuff came down was about 2 years ago. Even I don't believe shelves are self cleaning.

I'm rather dusty, all the breakables put in boxes. Talking of boxes, I've spent some time everyday this week walking around looking for a suitable box for the pressie. Then yesterday looked in the back of my car and saw a box almost perfect. I know it's been there for weeks, just forgot. And I have an estate car, so can't even have the excuse it was in the boot. Just remembered the ancestors, so grandmother, grandfather and great grandfather now in a box too. (Pictures in plain sight, like the box in car, so I forgot to take them off the wall.)

phew... heavy duty day at work today. Those who saw GM TV this morning will have seen the boys receiving their awards for the sea rescue at Trebarwith last year the one called Chris is the son of our model and brother of our little models he was a very brave lad glad he got award.
Bed time now wasted an hour recording the awards for his parents but did not put it an a AV channel so it did not record ggggggggrrr.

Sorry tried to post last night from home and lost my connection....you all know what my task is this evening. Me and the new router against the ether! OK time for breakfast. Today as it is not so nice outside (at least it rained during the night and not during the day, and we seem to have missed the thunder!), we will be offering a full English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. (Which reminds me the Lepry Genius was quite pleased with her exam yesterday.) As an alterantive we will offer scrambled eggs or poached eggs in place of fried. Full selection of cereals and fresh fruit. Basket of pastries, breads and croissants. Paninis and toasties for those who prefer a hot, lighter meal. Usual variety of coffees and teas and of course incohol. Right BHB time to stop reading that paper and get the staff meeting underway. DCM will join us when she can. I'll bring the cushions and the Bellini if you will bring the blanket - you wonder if a matress might be more comfortable than the cushions? We'll discuss. Closes door firmly.

Problem solved! I always have a stack of birthday cards, so that was no problem. Nice wrapping paper? Check. Bubble envelope? Check. Away to the post office and PHEW! The present is on it's way! I don't think she'll be too surprised when she opens it tomorrow morning!

Hummm I have a nice mystery going on here. This morning I took delivery of a very large and heavy package. To the best of my knowledge at no time have I ordered any such thing, so the delivery driver and I checked all the paperwork, yes it is definitely me. Weird, so I take it in and undo it (with great difficulty) and it is a lovely garden bench, flat pack (Eva I need you!). I go through all the packaging and there is nothing to say who sent it or where it is from. I assume it might be connected to a certain event coming up soon (or I am ordering stuff on-line in my sleep). So now trying to find out who sent it. It's beautiful so I'm keeping it!

Phew, I've had a hectic few days. Work is as manic as ever but it's my social life that has suddenly got hectic! Can't think why! Oh, yes I can, Ploppy's away and you know what they say - whilst the Ploppy's away the Loppy will play!!! I'm exhausted now, I can't keep up at my age. Years ago, when I was in my teens, I could party every night, but these days a bottle of wine and a meal and I'm ready for bed by 11pm. Oh dear!! Anyway, Ploppy is home tomorrow, around midnight, so that's when I change into a pumpkin (or rather, I become a housewife again!!). Where did the week go! So I'm going to spend the rest of my free time finishing that ADWD marathon that I started the other day (I promised to let you know who won!!). Or, maybe I should do some h*******k to get the house nice and tidy for when Ploppy gets home...............nah, s*d that for a lark!! Bring on the DVD's & PG!

Came out of a shop and pushed the button on my automatic brolly and instead of going up and staying up, it went up then went limp!! (Ahem!). Turns out a screw has dropped out and the metal shaft is broken!!! So I had to walk back from the shop in the pouring rain, even my underwear was wet, but then you didn't really need to know that did you!!

When I arrived home, p****d wet through and p****d off I found a young man in our drive rummaging through the skip!! As I approached and looked at him quizzically he said he was looking to see if there was anything of any use (which probably meant, value!!) but there wasn't! Bl***y cheek!

So, what have you lot been up to, not had chance to catch up yet apart from the last couple of posts - who's gone away? Has our boy been jetsetting again? Has he gone to the States already?? Oh no, that means more drought!! I don't like it either Pauline!

Jill,- did you have someone to the house to install the broadband for you? If you did, he/she must have left some sort of paperwork.
Anyway, on your router you'll see several lights which all needs to be lit for the router to work. Look around on your router and see if there is a button you can press. If there is, press the button. If the lights go out, the router is disconnected from the electricity supply. When you turn it on again, it takes a few minutes for all the lights to come on, so make sure you know which lights need to be back on before you try to use it.
If you are worried about the router becoming too hot, give the IP roviders a ring. I'm sure they can tell you how to disconnect the router properly.
I use my Off button every night and when I leave the house for a lenghty interval. It's saving electricity.

Pauline,- you should have gone to............IKEA ! I know, I know, you didn't order it yourself.

Hello everyone. It's just after 9.00 pm here in Reyjavik and the sun hasn't set yet! It's been a lovely afternoon. The city is very small - we have seen most of it in an hour and it's so quiet even though it's Friday evening. Goodness knows what it's like in January. Tomorrow morning we're going to the Blue Lagoon and in the afternoon will have a look at the seafront. We have a table booked at a good restaurant tomorrow evening, food sounds delicious. Prices so far seem a little more expensive than London but not outrageous. We're both feeling very tired so will go to sleep soon or at least will try to - bit worried that the light will keep me awake and it's also quite warm in the room. Sweet meads all.

Oh Maeve at the theatre in Hampstead are you ploppy used to live round there as a child, when we got married could not afford hampstead so had Golders green instead but used to go to the Heath almost everyday. Now youngest scollop is living in East Finchley near the suburbs, in fact works on the gardens very near the newly weds lucky him.

Diana - lovely to see you!! Well Sue1, hopefully yes, and certainly after next Saturday when the variety show finishes! Tonight was our only night in this week, so pleased I could get the router sorted! The one we had before was the BT hub that we were given when we first signed up for Broadband - this one is much more sophisticated (bit like me really!). As you say,- what's it like in January? Very, very dark is what. I don't think there is more than an hours "daylight" in the middle of the day.

Morning all, windy and rainy here and just as I'm typing that we have a glimmer of sun, only a glimmer but still. I'd like it to be a bit nice as I want to clear space on my patio for my shining new seat, which hopefully my friend is going to help me put up tomorrow. At the moment the patio is covered in pots, not sure where they will go but never mind!

Ro I think that is more than a cheek, I think it a downright flipping liberty! Very naughty. I thought it looked the same but as I didn't concentrate hard on the one last night it didn't really click. Guess I didn't think someone would have the gall!

Right breakfast time....what's this BHB you look a bit flushed, the CM has already been here? Wooohooo she's connected again! That's fantastic. Still we better get the breakfast going. The buffet table will have it's usual selection of cereal, muesli, fresh fruit pastries, croissants, bagels and freshly baked breads with a selection of cold meats, hard boiled eggs and cheeses and preserves. The bhb is running the short order station again to do you eggs any style including omelettes with your choice of filling. There is bacon sausages and mushrooms, waffles and pancakes with maple syrup and toast white or brown. Paninis and toasties are available all day today and ther are various teas and coffees as well as Cham Cham, Bellinis, Mimosas. Hope there is something for everyone there. Oh look BHB the CM has left the blankets and cushions and a few written instructions so if we take this jug and refill it with Bellini we will discuss what she wants us to do. Karen,- the sun is that funny, yellow thing up in the sky that makes you feel good and warm. It can often play a flirting game,- sometimes disappearing behind a cloud for then to appear again, smiling at everyone. It might have long sulks and stay away for longer periods,- the reasons for this have never been properly investigated. Maybe something for you to do in your spare time? I just been to the garden of my sister and it is wonderful. Full off fresh green plants, lovely flowers, beautiful colours and fragrant roses. It is a garden fit for the Chelsea flowers show.

All you ready for the Eurovision song Contest? I, not so much. Holland isn’t in the final for the fifth year in a row. It is a bit depressing, but I will vote for England and Norway (Honorary Citizens Of Norway sounds great). Also I am quite looking forward to France. I heard a snippet of the song and it sounded very French and beautiful.

What weird weather today - it just doesn't know what kind of day it should be....

Oh. Oh. Oh. I had my first GO dream (at least one I remembered). Lots of Loppies at a concert - like PiTP - had to go through turnstiles like the tubes. The only distinguishable person was the GO. Strangely enough the Pho was there - it was weird.. like nothing had ever happened.. the Pho moved on into the crowds - and away from us. Before his performance, the GO was by the side of the barriers talking with the kids who were there, in his own usual wonderful way, and I remember just thinking "oh, he's so lovely. I just love him to bits" then sticking my head in the pillow and that was it... I woke soon after (well I think it was soon) and was feeling really happy - it was then that I remembered the dream. Sigh. Didn't get to see the concert.
Had a busy day today - didn't dare check the blog before I got going. More DIY stuff to do, thought I'd have it done by now - didn't count on being drawn into department stores and getting bargains - a gorgeous jacket reduced from 75 to 20 squid. perfect.

Hello. We’ve had a lovely day. Weather has been mild with hazy sunshine all day – didn’t need to wear our warm jackets. Really enjoyed the Blue Lagoon; as well as the pool area, which is quite large, there’s sauna & steam by the pools. Apparently it can get quite crowded but it was fairly quiet today and with the sun out, it was lovely lazing in the warm water with the sun on my face. This pm we had a walk by the harbour (industrial so not pretty) to a metal sculpture of a Viking boat (Sun Voyager), which was quite impressive, then back through the centre of the city.

Hope I sleep better than last night. It was so light, I kept waking up - the room curtains are very thin, almost a waste of time. Bit blowy out today. A customer wanted to ride M, so I let her. She wasn't on my ride. I saw them afterwards, she (customer) looked rather flushed, as M had jogged the whole 2hrs, I know how tiring that is. They both had a good time.

No, my 'new' alarm clock doesn't seem to have a snooze button. She was a very cheeky girl while I was out. Neighbour, from up road, came into my house to bring back some stuff they borrowed last night. Alarm clock wouldn't let her out without taking her for a walk. (1hr walk this morning had been forgotten) Then she wouldn't come home and insisted she went back to their house. So she had nearly the whole day 'with friends'.

Hello sweetheart. Oh bless,- he's set the table with Norwegian flags, a dish of smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and kringle (it looks a bit like a bagel), which is the traditional breakfast on our national day. And he's singing "Fairytale" to me!

The reviews of "Fairytale" are mostly favourable, but the Guardian's colomnist is quite vicious. Heidi Stephen calls Alexander "a little runt" with crazy eyebrows, and continues:"Will somebody please stick his eyes out with the violin bow?" There surely is no need for that?

I'll be off a little later to celebrate the day with my Norwegian friend. We might even have our own little parade in the garden!

I have been busy on the phone all morning, calling family and friends to say Happy National Day and congrats about the Eurovision win. Even my parents had watched this year, and my mother was all- a-twitter when talking about Alexander. I said "Mum, I do believe you've fallen in love!", and her protests didn't sound very convincing! My father said she'd been oogling Alexander in a way she hadn't looked at him for a long time!

Just had a lovely informative email from sister now in Fiji, with photos. It's not like you see on the tourism pics. They're struggling with the humidity - whilst it's seemingly exotic, I don't envy them at all. I'd much rather just visit for a week that work there for 5 months.

I never managed to get on line yesterday, was out all day, got home after 7pm. just in time to make supper then settle down to watch Euro... I was very tired and after the first twelve or so songs dozed off and woke up when Jade was half way through, very shaming.

Thank goodness UK did so much better than the last few years, it would have been awful to have been near the bottom again after all the hype there's been this year.

The walk in the morning round the Strand and Fleet Street area was really interesting, never realised what lovely houses there are in the 'Adam' area between the Strand and the Emmbankment and how many famous people have lived there over the last few centuries. We saw the site of the original Adelphi, there is a new(ish) building on the site also called The Adelphi. I had a litle moment as we passed the theatre, from the opposite side of the road the theatre looks quite small, only another couple of weeks and the 'Joseph' sign and posters will be gone, aah.

Well, poor Ploppy has come back from Portugal with a very bad cold and sore throat, which is a bit worrying given the recent outbreak of swine flu. I'm sure it's just the common cold type but I've put him in quarantine just to be safe!!

Father was in a fantastic mood yesterday , he had found his fine voice again and was in his element siging his favorite opera, the only trouble is that he only remebers the first few lines but boy was he in tune. He did make us laugh mother and I cos halfway throughan aria he degenarated into student naughty songs thank god it was in walloon that is all i can say! but even he started laughing his head off , oh that was absolutely brilliant I hope he will be like that quite a few times bless him.
For all the girls who are meeting tomorrow have a lovely time . We will be up soon in London and we will let you know when. Ploppy sold his first painting in Heeg this week the punters absolutely love them but they wish it were teir children but he is certainly been really appreciated, I am proud and pleased for him.

I'm back home after a very nice day with my friends. I think Kari had been and peeked at BHB's breakfast table this morning, because her table was laid in exactly the same way, with a white tablecloth, blue plates and red napkins and little Norwegian flags as decoration!
She couldn't serve the traditional lunch, because you can't get the cured lamb and ham here, but a lamb roast was a very good replacement.
The weather didn't really invite to a parade in the garden, but we did send Ruby, the greyhound, outside with a red, white and blue ribbon tied to her lead, and she did a fine job!
Jo,- I was thinking,- maybe we should introduce Shannon to Ruby. She has the right idea of how a greyhound should behave. She loves her walks, but twice a day is plenty, and 1/2 hour is enough per walk, thank you very much!
