I'll be returning from England on the 16th, turn around, repack my suitcase and to Hardanger the next day. I'll have my birthday there too.
They said they wanted everyone together in a lovely and relaxing environment.
It's about 2 hours drive from Bergen, and we'll have to cross a couple of mountains, so we'll have to keep our fingers crossed for good weather.

...oh Eva that looks lovely. What a wonderful surprise AND you get to spend time with the young men in your life!! MM and I went out for a walk this afternoon and it was quite mild (bearing in mind we are still in January). So far the cyclamens seem safe!!!

Eva that is just gorgeous. Lovely hotel and stunning place. I have heard of Hardanger, don't know why or when though! You will have the best time. February will be quite a month I feel.

I've just had a couple of spring rolls for my evening meal. Hot and spicy it said on the packet,- you can say that again! I didn't know they had tipped 1/2 kilo of chili into them. BLIMEY,-it nearly took the roof of my mouth off! I had to eat some ice cream to cool me down.

Eva, if you feel the rush could be too much for you, you could give coming to England a miss (ducks as Viking helmet is thrown across the North Sea). You've done quick transfers before, I'm sure you'll take it in your stride.

I like that shortening, I only did it as I was in rush. I think I'll keep melf and of course there will be felf. Anyway melf is looking so much better, has colour, which I've not seen since before Christmas. I entertained him with some of Dog's activities over the last 10 days. I did include how good she was when I had to sleep at the weekend. Then I did a bit of IT support.

I've just booked an extra day to tag on to my 2 week holiday. It'll be a rest day for me to recover!!!

Pauline, one day will have to be enough. Bit short of staff in my group as one was on holiday in Cuba and has had a very bad accident. She won't be able to fly home for weeks and then will have to recover here. She was on a cycling tour and hit a pothole whilst going downhill. She has broken ribs, an injured face. She had to have her spleen removed and her liver repaired. She is out of intensive care. Sports are dangerous.

Oh Jo good news about Melf, but ot your colleague. hen MM was working one of the guys did a cycle holiday in Spxin, he had a similar accident, but only broke his ankle (he did say the Spxnish hospital was excellent). You are right sports are v dangerous. Always thought so since I was at school and we were starting tennis lessons. PE teacher was showing me how to serve, said to fling the raquet back over my shoulder, so I did and hit her on the head.......then of course I broke my ankle doing long jump and was in plaster for eleven weeks, which included all over the Exster Hols! Today Twin is coming over as tonight we are going to see a local tap group at the small theatre. Sadly this will probably be their last show (it's an adult group) as the lady that runs it is moving away and no one else wants to take it on. Oh and heard that Spencer is safe but one of the other Partners I worked for is going. They had some extra work in so only got rid of one Partner (or Director as they are now called) and three Associates instead of four.....sadly one of these is a guy who had. Baby last year, so worrying times for him I guess. Hello BHB, that's a nice welcoming hug. You have made some Itxlian Job today? Lovely, let's grab some waffles and have a lovely snuffle before the DCM arrives.

Morning all, another wet day here though not actually raining right this minute. As Twin says I am off to see them later and then we go to see a tap show. I had a lovely pressie of the car insurance quote through the post this morning. Gulp! Think I bnetter shop around and see if I can do a bit better. Morning. A very wet and miserable day here. I had to take all 3 scollops for a dental check-up. Middle one is being referred to orthodontist for braces to straighten his teeth and youngest has been told he will have the same when he's older. Both of them have small jaws so overcrowded teeth. Eldest was fine.
Just a warning: yesterday I had a phonecall from someone saying I had a potential virus on my laptop and he could fix it. Alarm bells rang immediately and I asked who he was and how he got my number. He claimed to be from 'PC Wizard' and said Microsoft had alerted him. I hung up. I've since discovered there was a huge problem in my area yesterday with people getting such calls and the police have sent out an alert. Just thought it would be worthwhile passing this on.

I have a recollection of someone saying they had something similar happen to them, but can't remember who it was and they weren't talking to me, I was just nearby.......could have been someone from the Op Soc., so obviously it is a new scam they are trying! Afternoon all. It's a grey(ish) day here. Quite mild, + 5 degrees, but the winds are horrible. All the mountain passes between west and east are closed, and there is no helicopter traffic out to the oil rigs.

I have been out this morning, and was blown from the car park house to the police station! Yes, we had another board meeting, as the chairman hadn't managed to get the annual report ready for the last meeting. We're having our annual meeting next month and halleluja! the chairman of the board isn't standing for another year. He's 82 and you can see a shudder going down his back every time there is talk about using a computer! He's been chairman for 16 years and has done a good job, but it's certainly time to withdraw his services! I like the look of the new board. One new member will be a girl I worked with for many years in CID, and when she retired, she had the rank of Chief Super, so you see I move in elevated circles. Aside from that, she is a lovely person.

Ali,- OUCH ! I don't like dentists.

Chantale,- glad to hear that sales are picking up, but doesn't that mean you'll have to pay more taxes? (Ducking to avoid flying tax forms!)

I've just completed last year's self assessment. Of course Dog was giving me her input nearly all the time I was typing, then BG came to direct the mouse. My animals are just so helpful. I was copying from the one from 2009 a bit of a cheat but I've had a new manager since then, so hopefully the new one won't check back.
I better go now I have to give a friend a lift to w*rk in the morning, so I'll have to leave earlier as he lives the other end of the village, so I have to join the traffic jam through the village on the way back. Phew, just caught a really bad smell (it is Dog, honest).

Morning all, at least it is dry, we had a shower whilst we were in the theatre, but it was a clear, crisp starlit night when we came out. Lady J link to Martin's site as requested. The big beaming smile on Dylans's face is his normal look. Fortunately he loves his glasses. Photos were taken by my b-i-l (his grandad)' who looks after Dylan a couple of days a week (he retired a month before me). They had a day at the seaside, which I think you can see Dylan enjoyed!

Today Sloppy is off to see Ann. Ann had asked us if we would take her to see Logan tomorrow, but one has visitors so can't make it, and we were due tomgo and see her on Tuesday, but now she has the doctor visiting to discuss things with her so we can't do that either. Today meanwhile we are off to do a little retail therapy, although Twin is debating whether to join us, as she is out to dinner tonight.

Hello sweetheart. Don't look so surprised. I have time to see you before I venture out today. I have a memorial service to attend at midday. It's for an old collegue I used to work with in CID. He was such a kind man. He and his wife moved to Spain some years ago and he died there in December. I'm glad his family decided to hold the memorial service, so we can show our respect.
Before that I have to do my nails, and then tonight it's the concert freebie with the parents. A quite busy day, as you can see.

Sue, I would be fine with them using mops, as long as they use water as the washing liquid. NOT the liquid they used today. I could tell they'd been at as soon as I walked in the house. I do have a bottle of ammonia solution for cleaning, but it was safe in a cupboard, so it could only be one thing and then I found out it was both of them.
Headache an snuffles (not the management type either). Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Morning all. Jo hope you are feeling better, always felt very miffed if colds etc intruded on weekends....didn't seem fair somehow! Surely whatever it is they will keep,the curls?? The thought hadn't even crossed my mind. Sue the pink is a lovely fuschia colour, can't think why you would feel it wouldn't look good with the teal jumper! Had an email from my uncle last night, he hadn't seen Ann since Nov, as he was away at Chrissie and he said how sad he was to see how much she had deteriorated since he had last seen her. We of course have been seeing her fairly regularly so to us it isn't quite so noticeable. Off to collect Sloppy shortly then off for the weekly shop and brunch. Hello BHB, you still can't tell me your secret? Oh well let me ply you with Bramble and see if I can wheedle it out of you. I'll just grab some of Chantale's pancakes...and we can have a nice snuffle as I think the DCM may be late this morning!

I dressed up with lots of layers this morning as they said it was really cold, well it's not that cold here. Just a small amount of frost. I got a bit warm whilst walking the dog. I still have a bit of a sniffle and a bit of a cough.

Morning all,, not so late as I got home about midnight (Cinderella, that's me!) and was consequently in bed only about an hour later than normal. Mind amazing how much difference the hour has made to how weary I feel now! Had a lovely evening, Ari waited on table! It was his Mum doing the cooking. Lots of good food, nice wine and laughter, what more do you need?

I've had a busy morning. The bed's been changed and the wet things are hanging up in my warm bathroom. I've set a dough for 2 loaves and it's rising nicely in the kitchen. I'll do the h******g later.

When they played Beethoven's 5th Symphony, the audience was spellbound, and when it was all over, there was 2 seconds of absolute silence and then the audience erupted! The conductor had 5 call backs.
Before the concert started, the parents and I found the nice lady who'd given us the tickets. I introduced myself, and we all said our prettiest Thank Yous! She was a lovely lady.

I just realized this morning that today it's 2 weeks until I see GO again. Two loooooooong weeks it will be!

Sue1,- I've been playing your second love all morning on S*otify. There are some of his albums I don't own yet, so S*otify is a good thing to have access to. Have a brilliant time tomorrow with him.

Hi all

So much for my good intentions to get here more often!! I did mean to, but when the doctor told me, back in November, that he thought I was suffering from d*pression (because of various stuff that was going on at the time) and I refused treatment (because I've been down that road before and hated what it did to me), I don't think I realised how hard the road to recovery would be and, much as coming here is therapy in itself, it just hasn't been that easy, what with one thing and another!!. Add to that panic attacks (very unpleasant) and an abscess on my br*ast (very painful!) and you'll see that it's been all fun and games around here! NOT!!

The latest in a long line of unpleasant events was that we had a prowler in the garden the other evening and then later that night Ploppy's van was broken into. The damage was so bad they think they might have to write the van off!! We're still waiting to hear what they decide. In the meantime, the courtesy car they've given him is a M*cra!! From a big transit van to one of the smallest cars on the planet! How the h*ll they expect him to carry on his business in that is beyond me! The poor love is really struggling to get all his tools and equipment to his jobs and as far as ladders and the cement mixer are concerned, there's not a chance, the cement mixer is nearly as big as the car!!

Anyway, thank you for your continued ohms and messages of support. They are, as always, very much appreciated.

Interesting news about the new role. I am, of course, delighted for him as it's what he really wants to do but, being completely selfish I wish he was going back into the WE. That's where my heart lies! I'm sure he'll be back there one day.

I was very excited to hear that H*llelujah will be on the new album, it's one of my favourites.

Not long till the L*ve Tour. I so wish I was coming with you but, hopefully, I'll be able to meet up with Jane at some point so I'll get to hear all about it.

So, how is everybody? I miss knowing what you're all up to - Eva's adventures in N*rway, the Twins lunch and shopping trips, Ali's busy life, Jo's animals - all the "normal" stuff!!

Afternoon. Wow you people have been busy - shopping, concerts, dinner party, cleaning! And KK is back, lovely to see you although with not such glad tidings. OOhhmms to you and to Ploppy.
Well the blossoming romance here is going to cost us in diesel. Scollop asked if he could see the girlfriend again today so we changed our weekly shop to a store in the opposite direction so he could spend a couple of hours there. You should have seen his face when we suggested he cycle to see her, he didn't believe Ploppy used to bike about 14 miles each way to see me when we first met. Sue, he'll be 16 this year and leaves school this summer. And yes, we do still have the dragon, had her 2 years now.
I'm stalling here as I should be doing the ironing, however I usually find something I've recorded to watch whilst doing it but youngest is watching footie!

Hi KK, lovely to see you, but oh that's not good about the prowler and the van. Some people really do beggar belief. Love the fact that they have given him a Mxcra in place of a transit van.......duh? Have this vision of him driving off with the cement mixer attached to the rear bumper. We are of course delighted whenever you can pop onto the blog; such a shame yo ucan't do the tour, but hopefully some new dates will come up later in the year that you can join us for, or better yet he might decide to do another short time in a show (my ideal too). Eva, the concert sounds wonderful - how lovely that both your parents could go. Currently looking online at microwaves for Sloppy, need to get her a new one, current one is making very odd noises! Eva sounds like an amazing concert, not my thing at all, but amazing for those who like it.

I upset some fans of the hairy one on Tw*tt*r this morning by making a comment on a YT. All I could think of when watching it was 'Why don't people get their trousers taken up, it's not that they couldn't afford the few pounds it would cost'.

I've just been watching L&O UK. I love it, and it made me think ( I do that about once a week.) : Wouldn't it be great if GO played the role of B*adley W*lsh's sidekick in the series?

I've been doing some research online about a very large field I know of. The locals call it a strange name. It has some large depressions in it and what looked like the places where building used to be. The name was explained and the odd shaped building depressions by the research. It was a tracking station for the satellites in the early 60s and housed equipment from NASA. It was even visited by foreign royalty in the 60s. It was an important link in the tracking station web which had global sites. All the buildings and equipment were removed years ago. Also explains the very imposing main gate, which looks really odd for a large field.

After many questions and numerous (0800) phone calls I have added Eva to my car insurance for our UK travels. It was VERY expensive, I had an estimate for £20. That was way out. Actually cost was £10.60. And her only 27 too, you'd have thought it would have been more.

On the subject of depression, I confess that I used to think that it was something rather self-indulgent, like wallowing in your own self-pity, untill the first time I suffered with it, many, many years ago, although that occasion was much worse than this time, and it was then that I discovered what an insidious and debilitating illness it can be.

Sue - you do help, more than you know! Lots of ohmmmmmms for the godchildren's Mum, I do hope it's not bad as you fear.

Good to 'see' you again KK. Years ago I worked with a girl who had depression. It was difficult to know what to say to her. Her doctor took her down the medication route, so hard, as at each med change she had to wait 4-6 weeks to know if they helped. We had many chats sitting on the fire escape stairs, as that was the only private area in the open plan office.

KK,- twice in one day! It's almost like the olden days. Depression is so debilitating, and I sincerely hope you'll find a good way to deal with it. I think that for busy GPs, the easy way out is to give pills, which isn't always the best way. We're rooting for you, you know.
It's so easy to have opinions about "invisible" illnesses others suffer from. Like you said, you thought depression was self-indulgence. Others are ME, where sufferers are told to get themselves together and get on with it! I remember when I had to retire, I once met a neighbout when I was going on a walk. She told me she couldn't understand why I had retired,- I looked fit as a flea. Yes, I told her, but you only see me on my good days, when I manage to get out of bed and out of the house!

I know that Jo Rxwling (HP writer) suffered from depression and I believe her description of Dxmentors was drawn from her feelings during the illness. It made me think then how really dreadful it must be. Lots of hugs and if our silliness can help in any way at all we'll do our best to keep it up....shouldn't be too hard!

KK, the thing about depression is that unless you’ve suffered from it, you have no idea just how awful it can be. We can sympathise but not really understand how vulnerable it makes you feel. I do know from past experience of a colleague, who didn’t have a happy ending that you simply can’t just pull yourself together. I do think about you often.

Did I tell you the story of the girl in Glasgow who wanted to sing with Alfie? ( The reason I’m going up there today is to see this). His manager said she could, and to text him the day before. She did that yesterday, and he seems to be backtracking a bit, saying that Alfie likes to choose someone out of the audience, (I know that’s not strictly true) anyway to cut the long story short, he said she would stand a better chance if she was sitting in the stalls instead of the circle, so guess who is giving up a seat in Row F for the first half of the show!! I don’t even know the girl, only her mum and only from Tw*tter. Do I want a medal or what!

Jo,- I had a good laugh this morning and was thinking of you and Shannon. I was out on my terrace for a moment when a woman came walking past. It was about 8am, freezing cold and there she was, dressed in a warm coat, big scarf, boots and nightie (!) with a sigarette and a mug of coffee in one hand and a dog on the leash in the other! She saw me smiling, and said drily: " My dog waits for no man when she wants her walk!"

Gosh Sue - I am impressed - you are tw.tterign and d.ngling on train. You really have embraced all the new technology:) You are also seeing each end of Uk on your tours. Should have thought of going to Gl.sgow - could have visited parents but didn't think of it in time. Enjoy.

As Maeve (or was it Sh.kespeare!) said sorrows can be like buses - none for a while then all at once (that was what SH.kespeare said?!) Ploppy off to visit his parents . think this likely to be ongoing saga. Also need ohms for ploppy . after a period where we really thought his health had settled down (not back to what it was but better) he went for eye apt - and has been referred to hospital for further tests . However given all the health worries with in laws and parents have decided not to worry about this until/if anything happens.

I've just listened to the best interview I've ever heard with the GO.
It was with Jeni Barnett on radio London 94.9, its on listen again, I got it as a G alert.
She asked all the right questions and really seemed to want to know all about him. Hardly a mention about his personal life , except for a rather startling statement (or question) that he had another baby on the way!
He starts filming at 6.30am tomorrow in Manchester but still couldn't say what it was.

Pleased to report that operation get Sloppy a new microwave was a success (thank you Sainsbugs - they had a RHxbbs at £49.99 instead of £99.99, easy to use and does just what is needed - result!). Maeve, hasn't seen The A, as MM not keen of a) silent movies, b) black and white, so a no no on both counts! Very cold out today - we called into garden centre after Church and mum stayed in the car! Hi. Thanks for wishes for ploppy. Seemingly it isn't his eyes that are problematic - he has been ref. to neurology dept! So a big worry - but hoping it comes to nothing.

No he hasn't finished work yet Eva - not until end of mar. So he is contending with commute to work, big project, step mum and possible health issues. Plus trying to find a new job. We need a hol:)

Would love to see the Art.st. But cinema here horrible so we never see films til out on DVD. Your concert sounded fab Eva. I do miss culture- abs none in this city!

Evening all

Thank you for all your kind and understanding comments about depression. It's good to see such understanding, a lot of people don't, won't or can't understand! I have to agree with you Sue, I don't think anybody can really understand unless they have suffered themselves, but, that was a very good description by JKR, Pauline. I decided not to go down the meds route because I wanted to still be able to function as normally as possible. When I took the meds before it was a combination of Pr*zac, V*lium and sleeping tablets, all at the same time, for a period of three months, at which point I decided that I didn't like being a zombie so I came off them all cold turkey!! I don't really remember much of that three months, I was so drugged up. The only thing I do remember is that I would go out for walks, sometimes with no coat (it was winter), sometimes in my slippers, and I would find myself miles from home with no memory of getting there! It was very scary! So, as hard as this has been, I prefer to do it this way. As the GO sings, "what doesn't break you makes you stronger"!

Talking of the GO, I heard the interview today. Hmm, he's not that far from here!!

Sue - what a lovely and selfless thing you did. I hope you enjoy the concert, wherever you're sat.

I've been doing w*rk today. 5.5 hours, I had to take a break to take Dog out. She was sleeping peacefully, then in a millisecond she was up and barking at me to go out. I completely sympathise with your 8am lady Eva. Although I've not been out in the streets in PJs (just in the garden) and the coffee is a dc.

I flip over asap from DoI to watch Cxll the Mxdwife on the Beeb. This was the third episode and I love it. It is about midwives in the East End in the fifties. Recommended viewing.

Watched the second part of Bxrdsong and am a wreck. Different to the book, but still made me cry. Off to bed to recover. Night ngiht and sleep tight all.

I have seen Panorama programs on both those items. It was difficult to believe that those things happened in my life time. Like something from Victorian times.

....so it was a highly cultural programme then Jo? Twin's training still paying off, only just woken up. A grey day, but no sign of the White stuff, although I see they are still forecasting flurries for tomorrow. Off to see Ann today, of course. Two weeks tomorrow they do the trek to Nway for the N Lights, fingers crossed they see them. Wearing a new pj top I bought Saturday. It has a very pretty cream embroidered flower on the bottom, with sequins. Now as you know I am a girl who lives glitter, but I feel this may be a step too far; ok there only 20 of them, but I keep waking in the morning and expecting to find sequins in the bed. Not sure this is a very practical design! Tonight when we get back I donthensplit myself in half routine as we have small group rehearsal and I have my service planning meeting at the same time, same place. I am missing my next two services as I will be in Bmouth for the first one, and Wthng for the second.......can't remember what for, but I am sure it will come back to me........Hello BHB, we need a swift staff mtg as you have to go to Mchester? Hi cold here - it was sunny but not now. Heating Ali - what is that. Ours doesn't go on until 6 and then only for 2 hours! Part of economy drive now that ploppy to be made redundant. Wearing lots of layers!

Sue - how was Gl.sgow. I feel that if you only went to concert hall you may not have seen the best of that city. You are a star giving up your seat for the girl . hope you got your seat in 2nd half and enjoyed the concert.

KK - did I say how brave you are to not go down the meds route - you did seem to have had some powerful cocktail before. . tho always remember there will be other less strong meds available too as an option.

Eva - yes have read about that dreadful period of time. I am sure some people thought they were helping but others just abused their power.

Pauline - can you give me sleeping lessons like your twin please. I have lost the art of sleeping (last 12 months or so) and so never feel as refreshed and mentally agile wot like a 27yr old should! Loved B.rds.ng - made me cry too. Must read book now.

Evening all. Sorry to have been MIA all day, but it turned out to be a very busy one.
We still have beautiful winter weather here,- cold ( about -4 degrees) but sunshine and no wind, so no complaints from me. But I on't want any winter weather when I come to England. We have a lot of driving to do, so keep the roads clear, please!

I've been out to see my nerd about the wireless connection. He checked the router and said it worked perfectly. To make sure, he reset it. I've spent over an hour tonight, calling my IP while trying to set it up again, but can I get it to work? NO ! So tomorrow I'll take both Black Beauty and the router out to the nerd again and ask him if he can set it. I'm so fed up!

After I'd left the nerd, I bumped in to an old school friend, and we decided to have lunch and a natter. I haven't seen her for years, so it was good to do a catch up. Just as I was leaving the restaurant to drive home, Viljar's mum called and asked for help. Her father had had a bad fall at work and needed her to come and pick him up from th hospital. Could I please pick up Viljar from the nursery, bring him home and look after him and Mikkel while she saw to her Father? Viljar's dad was at work, on the late shift. Guess what I said? Yes, yes, yes please!
So I went to the nursery to pick up Viljar. He looked a bit surprised when he saw me, and went round me to see if his mum was hiding behind me!
Getting him home was no problem and his mum rushed off to see to her dad. I fed the babies,
(I came this far when the phone went, and it was Margaret. Those chats usually last about an hour, and no exeption tonight!)
no problem, but Mikkel was a bit miffed when he only got the bottle. Viljar was his usual chirpy self, and was "helping" me when I changed Mikkel for the night.

Spray has not worked due to technical failure with the spray bottle. It is an old one from w*rk, label says '94! I did use it to damp ir*ning, obviously the bottle has not been used for years and the spray mechanism has all seized up.

I forgot to tell you that Margaret told me that when she was back in Liverpool a few weeks ago to see her mum, she saw pictures of GO on billboards, advertising his concert there. She had pointed it out to her friend and told her that was the Lee her friend Eva was so taken with!

Feeling quite tired, like Pauline, I'm not an early riser but this morning I woke at 6am, an hour earlier than planned, phone was still on Summer time, to go and queue with two friends at the Nat. Gall, to see the da Vinci exhibition.
I arrived at 9am to see friend looking very disconsolate a she'd been told by an official that we had no chance of getting in. Evidently you have to arrive at about 6am although someone had been queueing since 2am. We met a couple from Granada who'd stopped off on their way to SA and a woman from Dublin who'd come over on the off chance and was going to wait all day in case someone turned up with a spare ticket. Really stupid that we were too slow to book and left it so late.

Not doing very well with TV at the moment, for some reason missed the 1st episode of both the m*dwife thing and B*rdsong, once I do that I never catch up.
I’m determined to get to grips with Sh*rlock though, the D*ily M*il are giving the 1st series away with tokens. We went for a meal with Jack, Megan and family on Saturday to celebrate the birthdays, and Jack spent ages explaining in words of one syllable the plot to me, still not convinced, but gonna give it a go.
Can’t be doing with sad things about kids on TV though it makes me too angry. I had a rough few years when I was a kid, but I lived in paradise compared to some.

I’ll just say a little about last night. Had a ‘meet and greet’ with the man, and he said,” nice to see you again, how many is this you’ve done” so I was pretty pleased with that.
Kate sang beautifully with him, he thought so too, halfway through her singing he said “my you CAN sing” and she never missed a beat! He mentioned her a couple of times in the second half as well, said he’s been talking to the doorman while Laura was on and the doorman reckoned Kate stole the show.
I got so many hugs and kisses of her and her family, it made the sacrifice worthwhile, when I did get back down to the stalls there were about five single empty seats in the first three rows!!!
Had a text from her mum today to say she auditioned for and got the part of D*rothy in a local production of The W o Oz. I think she’s on a roll.

Morning all - very chilly last night when we came home from rehearsal (yes I managed a fifteen minute sing after the meeting!). Spent the day with Ann sorting out trousers etc. for her to wear when they go off to Nway to see the N Lights in two weeks time. They are all systems go with the garage conversion - tenders going out this week; however it is today the doctor goes to have a talk with her following report from the Sxe Rxyder home, and she did ask me how long it would take for us to get to Hxnley (which is where the home is). Next Monday we are going to collect her and take her down to Soton to see Baby Logan. Maeve also wanted to see the DV exhibition and was told very early on that it was sold out (think the TV programme with FB is to blame). Early morning queues not on my agenda! Sue that was lovely to know that your sacrifice had been worthwhile. Good for Kate! Eva, what an imposition - I'm sure you hated every moment of your baby sitting! Today is an admin day - lots of catch up on following meeting last night; letters to do to various organisations; OpSoc stuff to do before tonight and rotas to get finished for the small group.....other than that I will put my feet up until rehearsal this evening! Tomorrow we are off to see Nxises Off, so really looking forward to that. Morning all. Another beautiful but cold day here. It was - 5.9 degrees when I got up this morning and about -3.0 at the moment.

Hello sweetheart. Well, I never! He's snoring away in a corner, clutching a jug of something to his chest. I think he's drunk! He's muttering something in between the snores. What is it? " I never sccccchpilled the beans. Never, never". Do you think he had beans in the jug?

It's been a busy, but productive morning. I went out early to clean the parent's flat, then I booked an appointment for them both to see the foot-lady next week, took my wireless router and BB to the nerd and he had to reset BB to Widows mode to get the wireless signals, and now IT WORKS!
I also had the car washed. It was so dirty that you could hardly see what colour it is. Luckily the temperature in the garage never dips below zero, so it's OK to have it washed even in the cold.

Viljar's grandfather is OK(ish). Nothing broken fortunately as he fell about 4 meters ( Jo ?) down from a scaffold, but he's black and blue and in pain.

Carol,- there was an article in the newspaper the other day about Northern Lights. It said that the visibility of the N.Lights goes in circles, and from this year and until ca. 2015 it should be very visible, given the sky is clear, so there is every chance Ann and her family will see them.

Wow! Just watched the GO give a storming performance of Anthxm. He looked gorgeous wearing his burgandy suit with matching waistcoat. Hair quite ling, but I love it like that, he looked so relaxed and it really was a fab performance. In fact I will watch it again on +1. Love him.

Oh Pauline,- I wish I could go in on the iplayer and watch him, but my ongoing saga with the gizmo and English TV-watching is still ongoing. I'm sure you're as fed up with this as I am, but to make a loooooooong (and expensive) story short:
My IP doesn't give me the upgrade they promised me, and the problems are probably also related to the server I depend on to access English TV.
I spent more than 1 1/2 hour today with an expert who accessed my computer online and repaired and searched for the reason to my problems. This costs a bomb, but at least I had a few more answers.
At the moment I can't connect at all,- I keep getting error messages, so I'll have to wait and see if that is corrected.
The bottom line could be that I cancel my subsciption to the gizmo and learn to live without UK TV. S-I-G-H-!

Yesterday my new (idiot) boss told me to send out something I'd been doing for checking by the rest of group. Eva, I think my boss was doing the lip service to staff well being, as he went on to add that what with the poor girl being ill in Cuba we were very short of staff who could do stuff. When I'm away another chap comes back from hols who can nearly do all the jobs. Cross training is planned, just not been completed yet.

I've had my Eva and since then I've been trying to sort out bb speed, gizmo and internet phone. Some is sorted, some not, and if I never had to deal with more cables going from modem to router to adapter and back again, it will be too soon!

Back from the cinema and meal - the film was fantastic and GC deserving of his oscar nomination. It was very sad (ok so I started crying one minute in) but with humour and light touches and it was beautifully filmed. The rest of the cast are excellent too. Recommend it! Hope your AGM goes well Lady J - we dont have any of our's until March/April. Ooooohhhhhhmmmmms for the boiler too. Not so good that it has gone again so quickly! Twin en route for home now, I've just made a casserole for tomorrow, just about to wash hair and do nails ready for this evening. MM is moving the tv in the room where Twin stays, so it is easier for her to view. Our bird bath is frozen - he keeps running out with hot water to thaw it for the birds! Three times so far....it freezes again. Really funny this morning as he went out and put hot water on the ice and we could see the steam. A robin popped down and did a "hot coal" dance then whizzed down to the grass for a cool off! Ali, I know what you mean, but I am ignoring my windows, ditto the dust! Right better go and wash my hair! At least the sun is shining and it looks lovely out. Hi all, I am back home again. Had a lovely time with Twin as usual. Enjoyed the film so much, Mind I think we got through a box of tissues between us. Beautifully done and as Twin says GC deserves every award he gets for it. By far the best thing I have seen him do, mind I haven't seen that many of his films!

Beautiful weather although very cold. However it is one of those occassions when I am looking at the grass thinking it will soon be all white out there! The forecast is not good. About 4" of snow possible. I know that is nothing to you Eva, but just think what chaos it will cause here! We can't cope with 1/2".

Friday at last! I've been w*rking at home more than my usual two days a week, for the last couple of months - my boss has been very understanding about my "situation" (mind you, Ploppy said that, after all I've done for them over the last few years, they would have him to answer to, if they weren't accommodating!). This is my first week back to my usual routine of two days at home and three in the office, and whilst it's good to get back to "normal", it's been a hard week!! So much so, that I lost it today and bit a colleagues head off (not literally, obviously, I may not have been myself lately but I haven't turned into a c*nnibal). Don't get me wrong, he deserved it (he's a complete p*llock), but usually, I would have been rather more tactful!! (Would it be very naughty of me to say that I actually took some pleasure from telling him a few home truths!!). At least it's take away for dinner tonight so, feet up, bottle of red and I'll feel much better.

I left w*rk at 4pm and it was still daylight when I got home. This, I like!

Ploppy still hasn't got his van back!! He rang the garage today and was told that the insurance company had told the garage (but not Ploppy) that they weren't going to pay out (long story, won't bore you) but when he rang the insurance company and kicked off they backed down and have given the garage the go ahead, so hopefully he should have it back soon!! At what point they were intending to tell Ploppy what was (or wasn't) going on, God only knows! Grrrr!

Anyway, on to more important things.

Yes Maeve just in time. I'll get the hot paninis and we can have a nice long snuffle to keep ourselves warm, whilst we wait for the DCM to arrive!

Red letter night yesterday. Dog went to her night bed and lay down to go to sleep without the usual 2 mins of barking to the world that she was going to bed. Bliss!!!

Fi I've never washed and ipod, but I did wash a pager many years ago. It worked fine after a long time left to dry, out of direct heat. Good idea the dried rice, that should encourage water out of the device. Don't give up on it until at least a week has past.

Good morning. It’s a lovely one in Bromley but ccccold.

Ploppy’s gone off to golf, despite feeling lousy with a very bad cold. Last night he did his usual of falling asleep in front of the TV, the heating had gone off so he got cold and when he came to bed, he kept having quite violent shivers. I’m trying to keep some distance between us to avoid catching his germs, I really do not want to be ill during the tour. I think we should encourage Lee to avoid concert tours during the winter what with colds/flu and the weather. Fingers crossed the dreaded S word goes away and it warms up for the rest of the month.

The last few weeks have flown by. I kept intending to pop in but have had so many things to do and never enough time. This is always a busy time at w*rk for me but this year has been made worse with my manager leaving and the third member of the team, Tara, also giving notice – great timing!! The new HR Manager started a couple of weeks ago and is settling in but it’s going to take some time till she’s fully up to speed. Tara officially leaves this coming week but she’s going to w*rk from our Manchester office while she looks for something permanent. Good thing as we haven’t even started interviewing for her replacement. So with me not being in the office much during the concert tour, next few weeks will continue to be hectic.

Our shower is finally installed. Ploppy & I went to J*hn L*wis in the week to look at bathroom carpets, only to find they no longer stock them so will have to look elsewhere. It wasn’t a wasted journey as we also need a new mattress. Every morning I’m waking up with a pain in my lower back – putting on socks/tights is not easy! I was fine in South Africa so am sure it’s mostly due to the mattress. It is old so needs replacing anyway. We tried a number of beds and found a type we both like – rather expensive, just got to read up on the different models in this range and decide which one we want. We also had a look at cross trainers for our mini gym and decided on one but depends how much the bathroom carpet and mattress cost, plus the new towels and sheets we need, as to whether we get the cross trainer.

We have already booked our flights to South Africa for next Xmas. We’re going for a month this time which we’re really excited about. It doesn’t cost us much more as the accommodation is “free”, we only have to pay for the additional car hire. I wasn’t sure if my current boss, the FD, would agree to me being out of the office for such a long time but he sort of has (too late for him to say no now); though I will be doing several days work while we’re away and checking emails most days so I won’t actually be on holiday for a month! But working for a few hours early morning/late afternoon and evening and enjoying the sun in between sure beats being in the office, especially in winter. Modern technology is great - sometimes.

Huge thanks, Ro, for the radio interviews, I would have missed most if not all without you and the Lifeline. I got to see Lee on AT around midnight on Wednesday – absolutely fantastic performance, I clapped afterwards. Orders placed for the CD, can’t wait to listen to it – I’ve obviously heard the clips from the interviews on Timeline but haven’t heard the full versions. And, like everyone else, hoping we soon get more news of the new role.

I’d better post this in case the BBBT is playing up and will then continue.

I had to laugh when I read about Fi washing the i-pad and Jo doing the same with a pager. I wonder if I should do the same with my smoke alarm. Two nights in a row it's started yelling even though I've taken the battery out! It's coming down today, and yes, I have a new one ready, just forgot to put it up yesterday but was rudely reminded at about 1.30 am! I changed the battery just before Christmas, so it can't be that.

Diana,- hope you find a new mattress which is kinder to your back. "They" say a mattress should be changed every 10 years, but that could be just a trick to get us to spend money!

I haven’t had time to read the blog in the office nor over weekends so having got way behind, I resorted to printing it off and reading it as and when, mostly while travelling. I’m up to 31 Jan and will try to completely catch up over the weekend, depending how long the “nice” little pile of w*rk I’ve brought home takes. I made a few notes – more like scribbles – whilst reading but too much to cover so sorry if I’ve missed you out.

Would love to have watched Borgen but it started before we got back and having missed the first couple of episodes …. so have just pre-ordered the DVD. We still haven’t watched either series of The Killing yet which I religiously recorded.

Sue, we watch M*ster Ch*f whenever we can. This week we finally got round to seeing the last episode of series which finished at Xmas. The food looked to die for – I would love to taste it. Talking of food, the CEO of the worldwide company was over last week and I was invited to one of the dinners (first time, usually it’s only senior managers). We went to J*amie Ol*ver’s Fifteen (it’s only 5 mins walk from our office) – the food was scrumptious. I had crab bruschetta, scallops and choc & orange tart. Very glad I wasn’t paying – my main course was over £30!

Eva, that’s lovely of your parents to invite the whole family. Hope the weather stays good so you all make it to Hardanger – doesn’t matter so much, if you can’t get back and have to stay a bit longer!

Belated congrats to Aunty Carol. Hope Logan’s continuing to grow and do well. Must take a look at the baby photos as well as MM as a fairy.

I can’t remember if I said at the time but our MD came of his bike last summer when going down a steep hill at speed while on holiday in Shropshire. Silly idiot wasn’t wearing a helmet and came down on his head and face. The air ambulance had to be called for him. He was very lucky.

Ali, I also had a call some months back like your’s about the PC and a virus and saying Microsoft had alerted them. I think there are a number of people doing this. It sounded very believable as I had problems with the PC at the time just as the caller described.

Eva when we were at the Fxstival Hxll in December Alfie said they were filming for video. There were certainly lots of cameras around...... Snow is now laying on the patio - mind you compared with your's it is like a dustring of icing sugar Eva!

Yes, the snowman was Ploppy shaped and carrying a golf bag, so I let him in, and after a hot bath he now looks more human! What a plonker, playing in this weather!! Mind you, I'm not sure if his red face was from the cold or the half bottle of brandy he had in his hip flask!!!

The cat was meowing to go out earlier so I opened the door, she looked out, hesitated, stepped out up to her knees (do cats have knees?) in snow, did something that looked like the riverdance, turned round and shot back in and hasn't moved from under the radiator since! Can't say I blame her!!

It's sill snowing, hasn't stopped since it started at 12.30pm! Several inches out there now! I have to say, as much as I don't like snow when I have to go out in it (and I hope it's all gone by next weekend for those of you going to very important places) I'm looking out of the window at the moment and it does look lovely. I love the light from a snow filled sky on a dark night and I love the quiet and stillness! Plus, there's the added bonus that my mess of a garden, for once, looks like everybody else's!

Oh KK,- it's so good to have you back. You do make me laugh! I can just visualize your cat doing the Riverdance.

Not liking all this talk of snow, I have closed the curtains and am ignoring it. I did say goodbye to the lawn earlier, as I won't bank onb seeing it again tomorrow!

KK I know just what you mean about the cat. When I had one he was so funny when it snowed, he only had little legs, bless him and he used to take a step then shake his legs in turn to try and get rid of the snow. It looked sop fynny. He seemed to look at me as if to say it was all my fault!

I came back from the stables about lunchtime. I walked Dog. Lay on the sofa, BG lay on my chest and I went to sleep. When I woke up we'd had snow. I tried to get Dog to go into the garden. She hasn't, so I wonder how long she'll be able to last. The cats haven't even tried to go out, so no riverdancing from them.

Well it looks really pretty out there.....would say we have about 3 inches plus out there, BUT, unless something dramatic happens I can't see us getting to Oxfordshire and then down to Soton tomorrow........ LHR have already cancelled a third of their flights for today. No sign of the freezing fox forecast at the moment but the sky still looks full of that white stuff. Think it may need to be Plan B, whatever that might be........I see N Off is moving to Wxst End (Nxvello) as it has been the biggest grossing box office at the OV since KS took over! Think it is a limited run from April. Hello BHB yes I am surprised you managed to get here! The fire is lit and the pink blanket all ready? Agree it needs to be Mulled Cider. I'll get the hot waffles and we can have a nice long snuffle.

Morning. I tried to post several time last night but BBBT wouldn't let me!
It started snowing here about 9.30 last night and hasn't stopped! The drive home from work at 11.30 was a bit hairy, I was glad to get in. We now have about 6" which the boys are happy about, but not me or the cats! I'm supposed to be working this afternoon but I'm just waiting for a call to say people have cancelled.
Ploppy has just gone to Sloppy's to walk her dog, I think it's a ploy to have a play in the fresh snow himself!!
SinL and BinL are in London and should be home this afternoon if the trains are running. There was planned engineering work so who knows what will happen. We could end up with the nephews for a while longer.

Morning all, and agree it looks so beautiful out there and the children round here are having a fantastic time out there, but I still hate it! We must have between 3 and 4 inches of the horrid stuff. However trying to be positive, it does look as though we might (and I emphasize might) we ok for later this week! I hope poor Jill manages to get away on her holiday tonight. Experience tells me her flight will go (SA is always a busy flight) but when is another matter. Main problem now will be that a lot of aircraft are in the wrong place. Fingers crossed for her.

I have a check up at the dentist tomorrow, but I might just reschedule as I can't see the point of struggling to get there just for a check up. However that is not a problem but very sad if Ann can't get to see Logan.

So today I will try to dig the car out and clear the front path, nasty job but has to be done I think.

I've listened to GO singing Anthem on YT, and watched it on full screen on my TV. I played it a couple of times.................OK, I'll 'fess up, 5 times! Is he gorgeous or not? This is a THUD performance.

I've also made chocolate chip cookies for the Pirate Hunter. He'll be dropping in tomorrow afternoon with his SatNav which he is kindly loaning me for my travels in England. He loves my cookies, so that will be a nice way to say Thank You.

We've been out. Dog had a little run in the snow, which is 4 ins in places. I've scrapped the snow off the roof of the car, not an easy task for a shorty with a 4x4. I've cleared the path and the snow behind the car and sprinkled salt. I bought a 10kg sack really cheaply from MrT last year. And I've pinged my back!

Well think I have just done my work out of the year! Cleared the snow from front path, then from car and dug the car out and part of my parking area. As it fits four cars you'll maybe see why I haven't done it all! Also walked to the road in to the village , which is quite a hill and it is ok at the moment. How it will be after an icy night remains to be seen! Of course the main problem will be getting out of here to the road. Fun! Btw I measured the snow and we had six inches of the wretched stuff.

Plenty of the white stuff here unfortunately. It started about 7.00 pm and was still snowing when I went to bed. No more snow this morning thankfully. Ploppy is not playing golf for once. Hoping the trains will be running OK tomorrow morning but most of all that the snow all goes (and isn’t replaced by another fall) by next weekend.

Fi, my parents are debating about moving. Their current house and the garden are too big for them now and they need the car to get to the village. They want to stay in the same area but be within walking distance of the shops. They looked at a new development last weekend which is a perfect location – Dad is keen, Mum has some concerns and is dithering ie it doesn’t have as much cupboard space! If they don’t choose this new place, it’s very unlikely they will find anything better. The alternative is to stay where they are and arrange for someone to look after the garden, which isn’t very large, and get taxis for shopping when Dad stops driving entirely.

Forgot to say we went to Midnight T*ngo with Flavia and Vincent a couple of weeks ago. First half was a bit slow but second half was very good. Some of the dancing was amazing and part of the story was very funny. We’re also going to N*ises Off at the start of March. I saw the original production years ago and thought it was brilliant but Ploppy’s never seen it.

We have some Sky channels via Virgin so fingers crossed I can record B*dlam if this is the drama Lee’s in. Otherwise a friend at w*rk might be able to help out as she has all the Sky channels. Knowing my luck, it’ll probably be broadcast when we’re away over Easter.

Yes, Jo, if there’s a Xmas concert this year, it’s bound to be after we fly and I won’t be able to go …. perhaps I should have a word with the man himself and plead for an early Xmas concert!

Hi Diana, a mammoth feat in catching up with the blog. It will be difficult for your parents to down size. The hobbits nextdoor downsized, they had difficulty fitting into their house. I think they have just about adjusted, except for the gardening, she really misses her large garden.

Diana - and Jo - think my parents having second thoughts. they are in very similar situation to yours Diana. They have a very hectic social life (as well as bowling, gardening, church, walking, travel, meals on wheels (delivering!), art etc. think the move to where they only knew 1 person (ie one of us) would be too much but up to them.

Ploppy cleared snow round car - and built a snow man. we went for walk before sun went in but now i am wrapped up warm.

Afternoon. Well as predicted the majority of our bookings were cancelled at work. We went from 3 members of staff to just me! I only did 2 1/2 hours. Middle scollop came with me to see his friend (bosses' son) and they built an igloo and went sledging. The nephews have now gone home and the house is back to some sort of order and I'm nursing a glass of red.

Just listened to the interview on Power radio. It was fab. A whole hour of just him and his music. They played stuff from all his albums , not just his new one. No mention of any tv work, not even when asked what's next. Obviously it is very huish hush. He is in Manchxster till Tuesday.

I'm sure Jill will get away it is just when! With us most of our SA flights went in the evening, in fact one was our last flight of the day, and when there were delays suffered from the knock on effect and were sometimes over nighted and went the next day.

Glad you enjoyed MT Diana. We are going when it is on tour. No new property has much storage space! I can vouch for that. However with a bit of determination you cope!

Well we've had a fun weekend - for an AGM! Lovely to meet friends that we've not seen in a few months. The snow fell Saturday night and I was very worried as our drive home to us over the fens, but we had no trouble and made it back home in decent time. Largley thanks to Ploppy's snow tyres.

Mind you i'm sure we can't complain about our snow in front of Eva!

Morning, and we now have fog as well as snow, so lovely. I think the snow has gone down a little but not to any great degree. I was supposed to have a check up at the dentist, but rang them and they have allowed me to move it without penalty, so now I can please myself when or if I go out.

I wondered if he might do Kilworth again Jo (agree, preferably with nice weather!). I remember talking to the manager the day we left and they loved him and said they woiuld definitely invite him back. Hope they meant it.

Well it started thawing very slowly here and the road in my little developement is all slushy, mushy as well Eva. Still masses of snow around. I did venture out, but a lot later than my dental appointment, as I wanted to know what it was like on the proper roads and it is fine. However if we get a hard frost tonight I feel all this wet will be nasty in the morning. You read my mind Eva, I was thinking of sorting another cupboard out! Looking at the forecast we have another day like this tomorrow then it will get colder but sunny. No more snow forecast, so let's hope it is right and all will be well for the weekend. I do wish he would do these tours in the summer!

Well I didn't clear or sort cupboards! In the end I decided to shift some slushy snow to make it easier to get the car out if it is icy. After that I have been doing a little anscestry sleuthing! I have managed to find my great grandfather, or rather I think I have. Not of the nobility, looks like he was a coachman in N Irxlxnd, but maybe to some lord or other? No probably not! Fascinating stuff though. Must do it properly one day.

Pauline,- I always save some buns for you, but I assure you that if you come here in RL, there will be both homemade bread and cinnamon buns on the table.

Searching for the anscestry is a fascinating thing to do. My family on the M*hn side is already extensively researched, and on my father's mother's side, father and I were well away some years back, but when we'd come about 7 generations back and only found vicar's daughters marying vicars, we gave up. It was boring. Maybe all the relious belif in the family were used up?

Yummy. Thankyou Eva. I drool at the thought. Well my geneology is very sketchy. My Mum lost her father at 4 then her Mum at 8. Her aunt who then took her and her brother in never told her much at all, especially about her mother's family. She was a paternal aunt and thought the other lot a bit rubbish! Anyway one way and another I have very little to go on and it takes lots of effort. Father's lot aren't much better, but I do have a slightly stronger starting point and some cousins who could possibly help. I was going to start after I stopped flying, but with looking after Mum and the hoouse moves, I seem to have got side tracked! Still lots of blanks and questions to be answered. Love all the clergy as your forebears. It didn't rub off then!

I've had a successful trip to the docs. I have antiBs and I remembered, just as I was walking out the door, about the muscle relaxants for my back. So I now have a stock of 10 emergency tabs. Which will last me for 20 attacks, as I only take half a tab normally.

Home safely although not a particularly nice journey. Ann had about half the amount of snow that we had, and June as she told me had none. We did however have lots of fog, so quite tiring for MM who did all the driving today. Little Logan has put on weight and is lovely. I took some photos including some with Ann is, so will download from the camera tomorrow and ask the lovely Martin to put in the album for me. Our rehearsal tonight has been cancelled as I had messages from seven of them to say they wouldn't be there tonight. Sadly for MM he has a church meeting so has had to brave the outside world again. Eva, Ann has been to Rxssia and Icelxnd so has lots of thermals etc., and Sarah similarly has spent lots of time in Canada. Victoria and Roger are the ones who need kitting out! Well we made the concert, 8hrs round trip in the snow, who said my Ploppy was a gem! Considering he didn’t want to go in the first place. Well worth the trip for me, less so for him.
The venue was worth going to see for a start, can’t remember who went to see the GO there last year, they said it was a lovely building, and it is quite stunning.
We had good seats in the end, box office changed them for me twice, and by co-incidence when I picked them up it was the same lady I’d spoken to on the phone both times, she looked at the name on the envelope and said “ no we haven’t got any better seats!”
Alfie got quite emotional after one song, when he said he would be seeing his daughter and baby son in two days time. He should be there now.

Pauline, thanks for the info about the film, I’m not much of a film fan, but I have got a bit enthusiastic about the forthcoming W*st S*de St*ry showing at the RAH, in June. It’s the 50th anniversary, and they’re showing it with a live orchestra. I just adored the film and would love to see it on the big screen again, I would just like someone to come with me, Ploppy doesn’t fancy it.

Jo, Ploppy is indeed a saint, 8hr round trip in the snow, sort of saint! Go concert practice has come in handy, much more confident about travelling now. Much nicer to meet up with Loppies though.

Just been out it is a lovely day here, very sunny and not too cold. A musical about ToTC? Well it would need a box of tissues at least. I would come out a wreck! I cried buckets when we read it at school and then whenever I have read it again, more floods.

Afternoon. Beautiful sunshine here but very cold. I've just delivered meals on wheels with sloppy, the customers were very grateful. The roads are fine here it's just some of the pavements. I was using nephew's buggy like a snow plough on the way to school this morning!

And I loved Mother C., the Musical! The story was strong, the scenery very stark and modern, but felt right, and I really liked the music. The only thing I felt was lacking, was the one song that you feel defines the play, like CED and ADWD from Joseph or Empty Chairs from Les Mis,- I'm sure you know what I mean.

Iselin and I had a nice meal at our usual eatery with a catch up. She asked: " What's happening on the blog?" as she always does, and sends her love.

Tomorrow morning I'll be away early as I have made appointments for both the parents with the foot lady, and while they are there, I'll do their weekly shop. It will save me a trip on Thursday, and I might as well do something useful instead of sitting there, waiting, for 2 hours.

Well the Go tweeted he is on a rerouted train from Mxnchester as some twerp threw a fridge on the line! He now on't reach Lxndon till about 1am, then he is on Brxxfast at 8.30am. (Another tweet) Poor thing will be shattered.

Morning all, looks chilly out there. Last night after rehearsal car was telling us it was -3. They are doing some rebuilding work at the Scout hut where we rehearse so the place was full of dust, and even worse they had removed half of the radiators so we had only one working one. Moved all the chairs up that end so at least we were near some form of heat, even if it was one small rad! Today we are having some one round to sort out the floor I our little lobby as it has a dip in it and there is a slight smell of damp. This will apparently necessitate having the front door open for most of the day, so I think I will decamp to upstairs and undertake a shoe sort out (similar to the handbag one). My BiL says sister June similarly has shoe and handbag fetish - must be a family trait. Jan, how lovely to see you. Welcome home! A ToTC is also one of my fav Dxckens but guaranteed to have me in floods. MM has never read it (!), so I had to explain the story to him. "Sounds cheery!" was his comment. Agree Eva you need at least one song that is stand out in a musical. Ironically it is sometimes the "one song" which is all that is remembered from some shows, which have vanished into oblivion. Hello sweetheart. I look relieved? Yes, you see I had a bit of a hairy drive up the hill to the parents this morning. It was skating ice in places, but managed to stay on the road. Ooooohhhhhh, I could do with another one of those consolation hugs! OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So the parents' feet are smelling sweetly and mother even managed to fit in a haircut at a salon next door to the footlady while father had his feet done. In the meantime I did the shopping, so now they are well catered for before I go!

Evening All. My goodness, isn't there a lot to do when you change computers? I have spent most of the day tracking down favourite websites etc and replying to e-mails - no time to read about what has been going on, look at Timeline etc. I missed the GO on the tele this morning - Eva you will understand - due to Ploppy's ex causing a fuss on the phone about not being able to do her shopping and would Ploppy do it for her. Grrrr. Blo*ody woman. Why doesn't she leav us alone?

We still have snow here and it is very very cold. I have a doctor's appointment in the morning and I will have to spend out on taxi fares as Ploppy won't let me go out in this weather in case I fall over and damage my arm again. Bless him.

Sad news Malcolm, melf, is really ill and has been taken to a Sue Ryder home. Apparently he was bright yesterday and had eaten some food, but today is really ill. I'm sure I'm Ok with anyone with a good immune system, just need to be careful with elderly.

Morning all. I am so fed up with all this cold. Even after 6 years I am not used to having to go through the winter in one place. Best part of my job was getting to go to lovely warm places in winter. Still on the bright side (for some of us anyway) is that the worst of the snow is further west. I think we will get about a couple of centimeters (under an inch), fingers crossed! Hopefully they are right. Actually I have been in NY around this time of year when all I had was very warm clothes and it was so mild I sweltered!

I am being a lady wot lunches today. I feel very rusty as it has been a while. Hope I can still do it properly. Of course I won't be leaving until I have heard him sing! I believe he is just singing as he is scheduled on at 12.20, so that is a quick exchange and a song I think.

Well not sure if we are due to get the edge of the snow or not......might get some, might just miss us....in fact just watching and they have moved the snow across much further West so we should be ok (sorry Chantale!). Unfortunately the nephew doesn't appreciate me being ill and is being a little terror! He waits til I go to the loo or answer the door and manages to get up to mischief. Better go before he does something else!!

Jane, my computer is a second hand one but Oh Boy, it really whizzes along. The acid test will be when we have about 500 posts on this blog, that's when my old one used to seize up. I was quite proud of myself actually, I only paid £192 incl.VAT for my new machine and the pooter man said my old router was very old and needed replacing. I gave BT a ring and they sent me their very latest model for free (only paid the postage) and not only that, they knocked £3 a month off the broadband rental. Result I think.

Had an appointment with the quack this morning as the sleeping tablets she gave me don't work at all, also BP a bit of a problem. That's what happens when you reach 27.

Hopefully sometime during the next couple of days I will be able to read all the messages above and see what has been going on.

Jan,- how nice of BT to knock of a bit on your subscription and to give you a new router (which they are obliged to do anyway.) Hope your connection improves vastly. We have a few posts to go before your new(ish) pooter is put to the big test.

I've been counting on my fingers whether to take BB with me this time, but decided not to. What with all the travelling betwen venues there will hardly be time to post. I'm sure Diana will let me use her home pooter when we stop there to draw breath. It'll save room in my hand luggage for other things, as I hope to be able to do some shopping. I have two little ones to dress now! Mikkel has developed atopic (?) excema which is aggravated by wool, so it's rather limited what winter clothes he can inherit from his brother. I have a long list with what's needed.

Oh Jan, that was well done - a bargain indeed! MM and I walked into Uxbrxdge this afternoon - took about 35 mins (very cold) so we treated ourselves to large glass of red and a coffee in our wine bar. Caught the bus most of the way home and then just walked up the road we are off of. Martin and Maggie say hello and Maggie hopes to get on the blog soon. Had an email from Ann to say she fell yesterday trying to get to the front door to let her friend in (she said her feet got tangled) and she couldn't get herself up again. She managed to text her friend to tell her what had happened, the friend rang Roger, Roger rang their ex-neighbour who has a key and her son drove her round so she could unlock and she and the original friend managed to get Ann up. She says she didn't hurt herself as she went down quite slowly. For some reason the story reminded me of KK, so I thought I'd share it with you! Ann only told me as at Christmas I gave her as one of her presents something which I said was totally impractical for her. Her favourite colour is orange and I saw a small leather handbag which I bought for her quite a while before Christmas. When we took her shopping it was obvious that she needs to carry so much around, the small handbag would not be able to cope - hence the comment! Ann emailed me last week to say far from being impractical she wore it in the house (it is a small square with a long handle) as it held her mobile so she didn't lose it. She was wearing it when she fell and that is why she could send the text! Twin just emailed me to say she has a covering of snow......help!

Evening all, well I am very glad to say I can still do lunch perfectly. Obviously I am a professional! It was lovely and we had a fab meal, am still full! We got back to Ari's and Roni realised she had left her keys inside. So we had a bit of a palaver getting her in all overseen by Ari through the window. All was well as we finally got her spare key from her neighbour when she got back.

As Twin says we have snow here, argggghhh! Not too bad yet, but we have the whoile night to go yet. I need a snow plough, anyone got one to spare?

Fi - if you're still having problems with the video, it's probably the media player you're using. The file is in .flv format and won't play in all players. It does however play in VLC Player (which I wholeheartedly recommend - it plays just about anything!)

It's snowing here, has been for an hour or so, had thought we might just miss it but no such luck.

eeek I couldn't see it from where I am, but just looked out the front and it's snowing here too.
Hopefully there won't be too much here.
I've just logged in on w*rks laptop as I had to send some emails which I couldn't make go when I was at w*rk this evening. No idea why as they just flew out as soon as I opened up Outlook.

Well the forecast for light snow has changed to heavy snow and I have had about 3 inches of the stuff in about an hour, and it is still going strong. It was supposed to miss us but hasn't! I think the roads will clear by tomorrow night say, but as I live on a private road I could well be snowed in. Nothing I can do about it, so just have to hope I can make it. Why do I always get heavy snowfall? It never used to be like that here.

Ah well might as well go to bed and see what it is like tomorrow. Night night and sleep tight all.

Morning. Snow stopped last night when I went to bed and we have had no more. This morning they are saying no more for the southneast, so fingers crossed. Now all we need tondonis get Twin safely here today. Up early as off to the doctor for blood tests. Only routine for bp and chxlestxrol, so snow boots on. It's not too far, only about an eight minute walk....well maybe longer due to conditions! Not a good start to the day as the bulb in the bedroom blew and took the fuse out, so MM has had to go out to the garage to reset said fuse and reported that it isn't as cold out as it has been, as the wind has gone. Hello BHB you made it in then? You are a little worried about your weekend plans? You have friends coming? I am sure they will all get to you. Let's grab the mulled cider and then hot paninis and then we can have a lovely long snuffle under the pink blanket until the DCM gets here.

Morning all, well the good news is that it didn't snow any more, now I just have to dig myself out! I think if I can get to the main roads I will be ok. We definitely caught more snow than expected here. I think I will find that about 2 miles south of here it is much clearer! Eva have a safe flight and I'm sure you'll be fine as the airports are ok. Hopefully I will be seeing you tomorrow, squeeaaal!

Morning all

On holiday from w*rk today, although feeling a bit sad, because I'd booked today and Monday off to have a nice long weekend around the M*nchester concert so I should be getting excited by now!! Oh well, never mind! When I cancelled the concert I forgot to cancel the leave but when I realised the other day, I decided to take it anyway, I'm sure I'll find something to do!! And, on the plus side, if the CD arrives on Monday, as it should, I'll have all day to listen to it!! Knowing my luck though, it won't arrive on time!!

We've had a little bit of snow here but the worse thing is it fell on top of freezing rain which had already made it very icy so the roads and pavements are treacherous, a van just came round the corner outside the house and spun round and ended up facing the way he'd just come from!! Please take care out there everybody! I have to go out, so I'm not looking forward to trying to stay upright in these conditions!!

Anyway, just wanted to say, that I hope all of you travelling to important places this weekend have safe journeys and get there safely. Have a wonderful time and please blow him a HUGE kiss from me. I'm gonna miss him and all of you!

Well safely back from doctor - in fact they didn't have a note of my appointment so I had a little wait until the nurse could fit me in. MM made the appointment last week when he made an appointment to see his doctor on Tuesday, so don't know what happened there! Main roads are all clear and the sun is coming out now. Trees look very pretty but the snow is starting to fall off now, so hopefully Twin should get through safely. KK we will of course blow him a huge kiss from you and from all the Cinderloppies! Heard about the freezing rain and thought it looked particularly nasty. All airports open so have a safe flight Auntie Eva and see you tomorrow! Forgot to say Logan (see I called him Dylan earlier!) now weighs 8lb 4 ounces, so is doing really well! Niece Sarah is coming down tomorrow to Ann to help her get everything ready for Nxrway, and they have early morning flight out of LHR on Tuesday morning. Victoria is going to meet them at the airport as she is coming from S London. At least the weather is getting them acclimatised!

Well funnily enough I managed to finish snow clearing by 11.10, just like it was planned ;) What a lovely ionterview and who knew he could juggle! This was all at w*rk (naughty me taking private messages) it was all I could do not to laugh. Postman is so funny.

Morning from Bmouth. Hope all those off to Mchester have safe journeys- can guarantee you will love the show. Quite a lot of MT. we had CED (new arrangement), ADWD, Gxthsemene, BHH, Dxncing T Life, As lxng as you AM, a brilliant M of the Nxght and Anthxm, plus the songs off the cd and a few extra goodies including Kxss. Louise has an album out in May so sang a three numbers from that - she is some talented lady and when we saw her after she was tiny? Also F Slxwly and ALAYM with the GO. The orchxstra pit had been covered over and several times he bounced Ddown so he was nearer to us. Band was keybrd/piano, two gxitars, trumpet and trxmbxne and of course druxs with Mason. Now he's a thing, having not been that keen on The Gxrden before, last night I absolutely loved it. He really was in fabulous voice last night. Evening nobody! I have a feeling there is something else a lot of people are doing tonight. I am home after a fantastic weekend. Got to Twin easily and spent Friday there, then on Saturday morning off we went to B'mouth. Stopped on the way for a snack and arrived at about 2.30pm. Checked in to our very nice hotel and then went on a recce to spot where we were meeting the others and a certain venue. First as Twin says we walked along the pier and it was lovely. The beach is beautiful there when not covered in bodies, as in summer. Only thing was it was rather chilly out of the sun! Anyway venues spotted we went back to the hotel and changed then off to meet the others. Lovely to see them again. Lovely meal, thanks for finding the place Diana and good catch up then we shot off to the theatre. Apart from nearly witnessing a poor little dog obvioiusly lost and running round a busy road nearly get run over (nightmare), the excitement was mounting. The theatre was fairly full, and we took our seats, lights down and off we went. He came running on and went into Crxzy Lxttle Thxng called Lxve. Fab. Lots of chat and some amazing perfomances. He wore the lovely burgandy suit with a pale blue shirt first half, with some nice shiny Gxcci shoes. He was obviously proud of the shoes saying they were a present to himself! Second half was a dark navy suit and white shirt and same shoes. He looked so gorgeous. The stage was the other side of an orchestra pit but to our delight it was boarded over and we got a lovely surprise when he bounded onto it and was there right in front of us. Cue the sound of a lot of hearts beating faster! Loved Louise, she is fab and really adds to the evening. Her duets with the GO were brilliant. All over far too quickly. However we then had the joy of being able to buy the albumn and get it signed and have a few words. No idea what! I know I told him how much we loved it, other than that, not a clue. Phil was taking pictures, but sadly mine is not good. It is all happening for some again right now in Manchxstxr. Lucky things.

Morning all. As Twin says it was very quiet here yesterday, almost as if lots of people were elsewhere! Forgot to say kisses duely blown on your behalf Cinderloppies. Needless to say cd played on drive home. Back to reality today, shopping for food with Sloppy and DoI g some w&i. Rehearsal this evening. Watched Bxftas last night and sorry to see Txnker T didn't win best actor for Gxry O, nor for George. The A was big winner on the night. Also watched some of DoI and have to agree with who went this week. Hello BHB, you are looking a little tired. You have had a fantastic weekend? Girls guess what had to buy a new swimsuit this week and.... it was a size 16 not only that but it fitting fairly loosely, exercises are definately paying off weight loss is still very slow but that is not so important it is the feeling good that matters and oh boy do I need it for the moment. It is none stop bad news, horrid. my poor little cousin in Belgium had to have a heart op to solve her very fast beating heart and they managed to damage one of her nerves in the leg she is in excruciating pain poor thing. Our friwnd's daughter down our lane had had an epilepsy fit after 3 years of clear and at 33 she is very depressed. The sudden death of the gallery owner in Cirencester did not help matter he was middle age.And so it goes on I think I will never wish for a better year any longer it does not pay.
I agree with Carol Rosemary did very well tolast so long but she was now falling behind she should be proud of her achievement though not bad at 65.Better get ready to take the waffles in the cafe for them to try, as they are lending us the premises for one day. Have learnt to turn the pancakes now and can do the waffles so if mum gets tired I can take over.

Morning all, still a cold one, but a lot less cold than it was and it looks like the snow is thawing. If it goes as they say we may be rid of it all by the end of the week. I have a w&i day today as well. The down side of a weekend away!

I dont know if anyone has mentioned, apologies if so but there is a small piece in the current Wa*trose Weekend mag with Lee talking about Waterg*te Bay in Torquey plus mention of the new album and small pic of this and Lee.

Sat night's show was just amazing, much longer than previous tour - any programme that includes BHH, G, A and MOTN is worth it alone . He seems so much more at ease now, not only here but also in the TV interviews last week - it seems to be since the far east tour. Louise was great too. Re the album, I was one who preordered so am waiting for mine to be delivered, glad to know its on its way!!

Thanks for that Shirley, think you are the first to let us know! I agree about the new found confidence resulting from the Jxpan tour. Wasn't it just a brilliant evening? I think I might buy Louise's album in May, as I really enjoyed the numbers she did from it. Ooh, it's worth waiting for!!

Thank you for the reviews Twins. Sounds like it was amazing. Same for last night too, if the tweets and texts from Jane (thank you Jane) are anything to go by!! I thought last night would be very hard for me sat at home knowing that I should have been there, but the texts from Jane helped, and I managed to hold it together right until the end of the night when Jane texted me to say that he'd sung At or W*th Me, and she called it "KK's song" (because I love it and because I was singing it at every available opportunity when we were in L*ndon for the last weekend of LB) and, for some reason that got me and I had a little cry!!

What a palaver I've had with the CD! I originally ordered it from H*V but on Friday when I looked at their website it was showing the release date as 20th Feb, so I cancelled that order and ordered from Am*zon instead knowing that I would have to wait a bit longer (delivery expected by Weds). Today the Am*zon website is showing that the CD is currently unavailable!! I don't know if that means that they will still be able to fulfill preorders or not, but I haven't yet had an email from them saying that it's been dispatched so I fear I may have to wait even longer!!

Anyway, I've cheated and listened to it on Sp*tify - I don't think its really cheating, is it, as I will still be buying the CD so it's not like I'm getting it for free, I'm just impatient!! I'm not sure yet which is my favourite (apart from AoWM which I love even more now that I've heard the full version), I think I might need a few more listens!!

I have no idea what a QR code is but I'm intrigued!

Very sad home coming as Diana and Eva had just gone, when Melf's daughter came and I dashed out to find out how he was and was told he died at 4pm on Saturday. He wasn't with it after Friday as they'd upped his Morph. Very sad, there were lots of tears.
Very strange not have to walk Dog. I have phoned and she is running Mw3Ds ragged. He says he thinks he can manage until Weds afternoon.
Still upset, so others will have to continue the concert reports. Sorry.

Geri and I have just got back from a wonderful two days in Manchester. I must say my friend Caz was a really trooper listening to Lee, Lee, Lee for two days solid!

The concert was brilliant. Like B-mouth (thank you Pauline for your review) he started with CLTCL which was such fun! Marvellous BHH, Geths*mene, Mof the N, Anthem - and his ALAYM with Louise. And yes, At or W M was just lovely. I did think of you KK and our day in London (she was singing it constantly) I must say Louise was great. I'm going to get her CD for Ploppy.

The GO was so relaxed. And appreciative of the audience - he clearly loved B-water Hall and M*nchester in general.

Afterwards there was a signing. Geri got a little chat about Dublin with him. I got total meadmush

Caz really enjoyed it too. Amazing night!

It was great to see so many friends - Jo, Sue, Diana and Eva. And Suex and Brenda (very lucky Loppies they were). Sorry that all of us couldn't be there.

Did anybody ask who? No, I didn't think so. Yes, he really did,- in Manchester,- on the cheek, and he squeezed my hand!
What a weekend this has been. I got to Diana's safely after a very cold drive,- it was -8 while I drove down the M25, but I finalley got to the right place without many mishaps. I did have some serious fall-outs with my SatNav, who first tried to tell me there was a round-about halfway down the M23 and then later tried to lure me down the M26 as if I was on my way to Deal. After a couple of shouting matches (which I won!), I set her (it's a she) right. I had a warm welcome by Diana and her Ploppy, with him clutching the bottle of red I gave him as consolation for being on his own over the weekend!
The next morning Diana and I were up early, and arrived at Jo's, only 6 minutes late. My car was parked in her driveway, and off we went in Jo's car,- crumbs and all!

The hotel in B'mouth was very nice. Our Queen of bookings (aka Diana) had come up trumps again. I had a nice Eva in the afternoon and then we met up with the Twins and MM. (Sue1 had joined us by then.)

As the Twins and Shirley have already said,- he was absolutely fantabulous! His voice to die for, his looks likewise, and his energy and love for us all was almost heartbreaking. Oh dear, I'm coming over all peculiar just thinking about it. The others have told the details about the concert, so I won't do that.
The queue afterwards for the signing was the longest I've ever seen, and my place was way back, so after a while I gave up and walked back to the hotel. I knew I had two more chances, so I wasn't too upset.

The next morning we set off early after a breakfast where everything was cold, even the cooked stuff. Cold fried eggs and cold coffe and toast aren't very nice, so I did complain. Never mind, we survived and set off for our loooooooong drive to M'chester. Jo and I shared the driving, and after a couple of mistakes, when I tried to pretend I was in Norway and wanted to drive on the right side of the road, we managed the rest without any mishaps. A couple of de-tors and shouting matches with Jo's SatNav, only nade us sit up and pay attention!

Arriving in M'chester we found the hotel ( Thanks, Jane) and I had another Eva to set me up for the evening. We met with Jane, Geri and Kazz and had a meal in the hotel before we took a taxi to the concert hall. My, that was a huge place, and it wasn't filled to capacity, but when you compere this place to the first, small theatres he performed in, you know he's come a long, long way!

I was in Row A this time, and when he jumped on stage, it was all go, go, go again! Oh, he is so good and so wonderful and I love him to bits.
I must say I think his repertoar (sp?) this time is much better than on the first tour,- at least to my thinking, but I suppose it's a question of taste. The Garden was wonderful, and so of course were his G*tsemane, A*then, BHH and CED. I also liked Better a lot, and H*lleluja which he for some reason or other didn't sing in M'chester. Louise D. has a wonderful voice, and her and Lee's voices blended perfectly. (I thought she'd had a hairdresser disaster, but according to our styling expert, Jo (!!!!), it's very modern! That shows you how much I know about fashion!)

Thinking about the enormous queue in B'mouth for the signing, we had asked beforehand where it was going to be, and when the concert was over, I steamed out in the foayee(sp?) and asked a security man where Lee was doing his signing. He pointed to a table right behind him, and when I asked where the queue started, he pointed at my feet! So I was FIRST !
When Himself and Louise came and sat down, I had already bought my CD and had it ready to be signed. I had also bought a little present for Betsy, and when I gave it to him and said it was for his Betsy, he got up, took my hand and kissed my cheek! I told him it was a Norwegian troll, a nice one, and he said thank you, thank you. He also couldn't believ that I'd come all that way just to hear him, and when I told him that I'd been in B'mouth and was going to S'end too, Louise looked at me with a slightly bemused expression on her face. Then I moved on, beaming from ear to ear.
The rest of the evening is a bit of a blur, but I do remember having a drink in the hotel bar with the others before I floated on to bed.

So now we're back at Diana's, gathering strength for the new concert tomorrow night. Diana is in the kitchen cooking dinner, so I think I'd better say bye, bye for now. The BBBT will have a fit when it sees how long this post is!

So so sorry to hear the sad news Jo, you will miss him very much. Many ohms to you and to Felf.

My little bit of a review, I think he was more relaxed in Manchester, getting into the show I suppose. Bournemouth was excellent (except for the sound quality, due to the venue) but Manchester was amazing. You know how much I like Wickd (almost as much as I like LM) I thought 'As Long AYM' in Manchester was the best I've ever seen.

Maeve, it was an easy drive as we took it in turns. The only interesting bit was getting out of the first hotel car park. It was a bit tight, so Diana and Eva were giving distance indications front and back, And then Eva very nearly demonstrating how to drive in Norway. All was fine after that. Oh until on the way back in a service station car park when I very nearly reversed into a car - but I didn't!!!

BG decided to stroke my face with his claws when I was going to sleep, but apart from that a perfect night until 7.30 when Ms3Ds phoned.

PHEW PHEW PHEW Mw3Ds has just been to the park, I went out to see him. He says a walk has calmed him down and will carry on looking after Dog until tomorrow. He is depressed as it is V day. Dog did not help, no surprise there!! Dog didn't rush up to me, she is quite happy and walked off with him and his dogs. He did say I have her all the time. But to be fair to him, I have never found what he found this morning. I think that just capped it for him. He does have laminate flooring so it was relatively easy to clear up. So he has had the normal performance and a big cleaning activity first thing. He said 'it's not her fault, she getting very old and has a hard life'. The first 2 are right, not so sure about the 3rd.
OK back to original plan.

The BHB has been really busy and the Bistro is looking lovely (bearing in mind he had to take down all the Vxlentine decorations first!) with shamrock posies on the tables, green and white tablecloths and green and white ballons festooning the place. The obligatory cakes - chocolate and carrot - have been baked and are ready for tasting, and the champers is on ice. Hello BHB, it all looks wonderful. Yes I think we can grab some cake and some champers and you can tell me all about what you got up to yesterday. You were seeing friends? Right, let's have a snuffle and I can catch up with you - we should have plenty of time before the DCM arrives!

Had a lovely V's Day lunch with MM - went to a place which we haven't visited since it changed hands (it was a restaurant, now a gastropxb). It has fabulous views over the water (well they are at the moment but the HS rail is due to cut right across on a vixduct if route stays the same, which will be a terrible shame). It turned out to be a sister pub to the one we ate at on the way home from BMouth, and food was just as delicious. Loved your romantic card Jan! KK, now behave! Haven't heard if Ann and Co have arrived safely but assume they have. Safe journeys to those returning home today too. Have more admin things to do today (organsing our Sxlver Wdg); however as I woke at 4.30am and had difficulty getting back to sleep (did eventually) I might treat myself to a soaky bath later and a little nap perhaps (I always say that and never do of course!).

I had a difficult night's sleep last night too, thanks to Ploppy. We were laid in bed, about 1am, he was snoring, I was wide awake (just a usual night in our house!) when suddenly the bed started to shake and I thought "What the h*ll is that?", then I realised it was Ploppy that was shaking and I thought "What on earth is he doing", then he moaned "Oh God, Oh God" and I thought "Oh, Oh!!!!!" (I thought he was having a, ahem, dream!!) then he jumped out of bed, stood up, then fell back on to the bed. I switched the bedside lamp on and he was laid on his back with his head to the foot of the bed and his leg stuck straight up in the air! He had cramp in the back of his thigh!! So, I had to stand up on the bed and bend his foot forwards to stretch the muscles at the back of his leg, whilst all the time, he was crying out, alternately, "Harder" "Ouch" Stop now"!! Now, I know that having cramp isn't funny, as anybody who's had it knows, but, I have to confess, once the cramp had eased and he was settling back down to sleep, I laughed so much, there were tears rolling down my face! Fortunately, Ploppy saw the funny side and had a laugh about it too!! Anyway, within minutes he was back to snoring for England and I was still wide awake and hardly slept all night! Thankfully, I'm working at home today but I'm so tired I think I might need to take a couple of hours off later and join you in that sleep, Carol! Well, not join you, but you know what I mean!

Carol - S*lver W*dding?? You must have married very young (mind you, it's ours in a couple of years so we're not far behind you!!).

Hi Pauline - and Happy Birthday Geri! - the first series was only 6 episodes and ran from Feb/March last year so maybe it wont take him too long. There is also a DVD of Series! so we can hopefully have a nice keepsake to drool over eventually!

Sorry it's rather late in the day! I hope you are still basking in the lovely memories of the weekend.
The Bistro looks beautiful but BHB does look tired.
How did Southend go? Not much news yet, Not sure who went?

I 've had a pretty exhausting few days with two grand dollops staying, a lot of fun but they are so full of energy and they eat so much too!

I know you've been waiting with impatience for a proper review of last night's concert, so I'll do my best.

The drive to S'End was uneventful ( no Norwegian maneuvers tried!), and we arrived in S'End which presented itself from it's best side. The seafront, where our hotel was located, was lovely. Not as lovely as Deal, of course, but hey! I'm predudiced.
It was a very nice hotel too ( Thanks, Diana for finding it) and I had a room with a view, a sea front one.
A dinner was booked at the venue for 5 of us,- Suex, Sue1, Diana, Jo and yours truly. Food was excellent (set menu), but took a long time coming, so even though we were there 2 hours before the concert's start, we had to gobble down our dessert more or less on the run!

The C*iff Pavillion looked like a nice venue, and the place was really buzzing. It was obvious that most of the audience was locals, waiting to cheer on their homecoming boy. Of course, the usual suspects could be seen in the first 3 rows!

He came running on stage to great cheers and we were taken to heaven in a flash!
He was so obviously pleased to be back home, as he said, and was so funny and personal in his comments between songs, it was a delight to see. He discovered some old mates in the audience, and with an "excuse me" to us, he ran down to shake their hands. Lovely! The fact that his parents were there too, didn't seem to subdue him at all, and he was cheeky and flirty in a great mix. He even offered kisses to those who waited for the signing,- then did a kind of mental halt, and said: " I shouldn't have said that. I can't believe I did!"

Right, you want to hear about the songs too? It was great, if possible even better than M'chester. When he sang Getsemane, I could feel the hair raising on my neck, and I think Jo, sitting next to me, forgot to breathe! It was heartbreakingly beautiful!
KK,- I too remember holding hands with you and crying when he sang it for the first time in K'worth.
It's hard to pick a favourite from this consert, but apart from his " classics" I do like Better, H*leluja and The Garden best, I think.

Talking about his "classics" we had some hilarious moments during ADWD with the trompetist and trobone player dancing with each other behind his back. I don't think he was aware of it uintil he noticed the audience laughing out loud, so he turned around and saw them. Then he managed to insert something like "who wants to keep their job?" into the text.
Then when we were doing Da*dream B*liever and sang the chorus about the Homecoming Queen, he minced across the stage and did the limp wrist thing! He was so funny.

Louise delivered her stuff beautifully. My, she's really got a marvellous voice.

It was a wonderful evening, made even better by his obvious delight in performing in his home town. He was so relaxed and full of beans. Sometimes when he was chatting between numbers, he got completely lost reminiscing (sp?) and had to haul himself back into reality.

Afterwards there was the signing, and although I didn't manage to get there first, I wasn't too far back. When it was my turn, he obviously recognized me, smiled and said how lovely it was to see me again. I asked if Betsy like the Norwegian troll, and he answered that it was sooooo cute. Then I said ( with a brain partly clogged with Meadmush) that I'd have to bring the boyfriend next time. He looked at me very gravely and said: " Do you think he'll enjoy the show?" and I had to explain that I didn't mean my boyfriend, but the troll's! Louise had a giggle at that, and he laughed too.
Louise was very sweet and said how nice it was to see me again, and when I told her it was my last concert this time around, she said:" Are you sure you can't make just one more?"

I waited for the others to have their programs signed and for Diana and Jo to take about 150 photos each, then it was back to the hotel and off to bed. It was 11pm on a most wonderful night.
The drive back to Diana's was again un-eventful. We stopped at W*itrose to get their weekend newspaper with a nice, little article about Himself, and then I went off to Sainsbugs on a failed mission. Never mind,- there is always A*azon.

These 6 days have been absolutely wonderful. Meeting old Loppy friend, making new ones and last but not least, see and hear our wonderful GO being more GORGEOUS than ever.
I've been so lucky to be staying with Diana between concerts. She is so kind.

It's back home to Vikingland tomorrow morning, but I promise I'll be back!

Hi loppies!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, cards, e-cards and so forth. It’s been a very special birthday – even my father remembered it (first time in about 5 years).

I’ve really not been keeping up with the blog. My budget is pretty tight and I get charged extra if I go beyond my allotted amount of internet usage. However, since I was away for most of the past week I can afford to post (as long as BBB allows me).

I’ve had a lovely holiday in the UK thanks to my dollop & Lady Jane colluding. Between them, they arranged the flight and the ticket to see a certain Adonis in Manchester. He gets better and better, doesn’t he? You think he’s astonishing and then he somehow manages to rank it up to the next notch.

It was lovely seeing fellow loppies: Jane, of course, but also Jo, Diana, Eva and Sue. Jane’s friend Caz also came and I think she was impressed. She gave the Meadster 9/10 for his performance. I was gutted to miss KK – it’s been a year since I last saw her – and I really hope she makes it to one of the concerts. It was be such a crime to miss Himself when he’s on such amazing form.

Really looking forward to seeing Bedl*m and I agree with our illustrious Landlord’s tweet – Lee’s character is well named.

Despite the dire work-front and a number of fiscal constraints, this year has gone much better than last – at least so far. In January I found I’d won an international competition for my first novel. There were almost 600 entries from America, the UK, and a lot of other countries, so it was a real coup to win. The prize is I get to attend a Novel Fair next month and meet with about 20 agents and publishers. If all goes well, I may be able to see the novel published. All ohms gratefully accepted.

Morning all - up early as man coming to fix chip in car windscreen "between 8am and 12 noon", so we knew if we weren't up it would be 8 am and if we got up as we have it will be noon! Well done Lepry! Fingers crossed. Oh Jo, more bad news, but at least MW3D is still in the frame for dog sitting so that must be some relief. Popping oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmssss in the bank for you, and everyone else who needs them. Twin is coming over for an afternoon of culture - yes we are going to see The Mxppet Mxvie! Oh and had a text last night from Ann to say they had arrived safely - not without hazard as apparently that part of Nway hasn't seen snxw this winter until they arrived and 6 inches fell. They passed loats of snxwploughs and then found their hotel was at the top of a long steep hill and the car kept sliding down. Victoria as Ann put it "chatted up a local driver" and he kindly drove Ann, the luggage and the hire car up to the hotel whilst Roger and the girls walked up. Yesterday was sunny so they had driven round the fjordat a warm temperature of -14. Roger and Sarah had eaten whale for dinner (is this a local dish Eva???), but best o all since 5pm the sky had been full of the N Lights, which she said were brilliant! So pleased as I kept worrying they might have gone all that way and not seen them. So I think that is a mission accomplished. Hello BHB, you are still looking tired. Let's grab the Blushing Bubbles and the paninis and we can have a nice snuffle on the sofa - that should revive you so that you are fill of bounce when the DCM arrives.

Carol, I'm glad they got there safely and there was a light show. Sounds a bit of a nightmare drive though.

OK good news. After a sleep and nothing to clear up in the morning Mw3Ds says he will have her for the 2 days. Yesterday he said he's just do one day. He didn't want to think of Dog left in the house on her own and different people coming in to take her out. Dog played her part this morning, she ran up to him, when he came into the park, wagging her tail. Good girl!!! (She doesn't give me that greeting, but she did walk home with me and didn't try to go home with him.) He did say that it wasn't the cleaning, it was the barking.

Evening all. I have been back home a few hours, but after I had eaten some lunch I needed an Eva, so sorry I'm late!
The drive to the airport this morning and the flight home went without any problems, which is the way I like it.
The snow isn't present here either, but as in the forecasts for UK, it seems that's going to change on Sunday. I can't believe my luck that all those miles were driven without any snow at all on the roads. The days since Monday has been springlike, and now the cold and snow are set to return to the UK, and I'm safely in Norway!

Carol,- so pleased to hear that Ann and her family arrived safely (ish) at their hotel in Alta and that they've seen the NL in it's full splendour. Whale meat can maybe be called a speciality of the North, but you can get it served elsewhere in Norway too. The meat has a very strong flavour, but I quite like it.
I know, I know,- save the whales and all that, but I still like it!

I'll be having a quiet night in front of the telly tonight. I've spoken to the parents, and they tell me that youngest sister and her husband have both got the flu, so they might not be able to come to Hardanger with the rest of us. It won't be the same without them.

MM wanted to go to the bank beforehand but whe we got into Uxbrxdge there was a power cut which took out the shops down one side which included the bank, so we were forced to go into our wine bar for a drink instead. We had some time after the viewing before we were due to eat, so tried again. Power back on so MM went off to pay in money and Twin and I were forced tongo back into wine bar to wait for him. I noticed that my veggie niece who sometimes eats fish didn't try it and poor Ann of course can't eat. Eva, I had a lovely sleep thank you. I woke Dog up last night. I'd gone to bed so early (for me) I had to 'go out to the garden' (not really) so Dog decided to join me. We met the postman this morning. Dog was a star, postman is on Dog duty this Sunday, she went up to him and rubbed around his legs. Has she read my holiday schedule?

I've just got back from walking Dog. Yesterday I timed it right, as when I was in the middle of a big field I had 'At or with me' playing so my singing along was only heard by the birds, horses and Dog. I can repeat it 3 times before I walk out of the fields. Today I was walking along the main road, still singing though.
I've checked the liquids in the car. I was told off by the garage last time I took it in. I suppose it is getting old and using (or loosing) more fluids.

Hi all, I am home after a very nice time with Twin and MM. Got home at lunch time actually but have been messing about. My email is down at the moment, very frustrating. Of course I can't help wondering if it was anything to do with changing servers, though as it was fine yesterday I really don't think so. Just very annoying.

I see I have missed Eva. Hope she has a lovely weekend and that young sister is ok.

Hi - we are back. had fab hol in ic.land. Snow on ground in some areas ( Tho much less that at home) but clear in others. Warm - compared to here . Fab scenery. Ploppy walked the mid atl.ntic r.dge - ( a boyhood dream) and was as happy as a sand (that is black volcanic sand!) boy. We also saw the N lights - not a spectacular show but a show. However the photos (not ours but someone else on trip ) are spectacular - seemingly the slow shutter speeds you can set your cameras to make the photos of the n Lights much much more spectacular than most sightings of the real thing. We loved the scenery. everyone was surprised by how bleak, desolate and treeless it was - i wasn't - reminded me of W isles! Will put soem photos on FB - when i remember how to do !

So glad Ann got a good show of N lights Carol - the hotel sounds "interesting". are they going on a H.rtigr.ten cruise also?

Welcome home Fi! Glad you had a lovely time. No Ann and Co are flying home at the weekend as Victoria teaches and she is back at school on Monday. Also they have to take all Ann's medication and protein drinks, so they are a little limited in what they can do. They took her wheelchair with them as she now can't walk without aid. Off to choir practice now, but will be back in time to see last episode of Hxstle!

Morning - loved the photo Jo, as Twin says I've never had a train journey with a neighbour like that! Wasn't it a lovely ending.....I knew one of the guests was coming back but not the other. Also liked the Mag 7 comment! Bit blustery outside by the look of it. Think we are due rain later today. Had choir practice last night but we were down five people - all with chesty problems. Good morning. I had a good result. Walking past the sorting office, postman came out and asked if I wanted to take a package. It was a jacket I ordered Thurs night. It was in a sale. I'd had my eye on it for a couple of weeks. I got an email to say there was an extra 10% off all sale items, so that means it was 50% of the full price. (it is an expensive horsey brand) I logged into the site to find that the size I was going to order was sold out. I ordered the smaller size and it fits perfectly. Just as well I waited, I'd forgotten that this brand is always on the large size. Is it purple? Nearly, they call it 'fig'.
Dog has seen her friends and is now asleep.

Looks like the weather is going to be a bit grim later, and in fact doesn't look too great here at the moment. I have to go and pick a parcel up as sadly I missed the postman yesterday. I've had a v. busy week and am off to Caambridge later today to meet up with Dollop, B-i-l and Sis in law.

I'm still waiting for my CD which I ordered from Sainsbug, have rung and e-mailed, profuse apologies and reassurances that would arrive by end of week but no sign so far grrrr; just hope it comes in time for the signing at B'ham.
